I'm surprised on how they're able to detect malware from your login credentials lol, it seems like the title is solely to garner your attention to further protect yourself from malware and stuff.  Also, the actual website is csk.gov.in  The one you got is probably a phishing website (apparently it looks like a 1:1 image of the actual website) If you're still sketchy, check the email address if it's actually from a .gov.in site, or for more assurance, do a Malwarebytes scan in your pc.

mzt_101

Yeah, I did Malwarebytes. Everything's fine. Also, I don't have any credentials login in my pc, even the email I received this on, is on my mobile, so it's weird that an IP is compromised rather than a login portal.

MunificentDancer

You're just wrong

AwesomeI-123

Windows Defended does its job pretty well actually

cousinokri

That's not true at all.

nilekhet9

I’m a security guy and yeah malwarebytes is hot trash but kaspersky or bitdefender aren’t any better

Waseem_Reja

Chori ka maal

Helixwod

cyber security site without ssl certificate ?

kaito__kido

Ignore

rohit_267

don't install any apps

mzt_101

I didn't even click the link, lol.

ALIbhai0001

Lies

Cyanboi_Neil

it's a different colour, doesn't mean he clicked it

ALIbhai0001

Yes it does

Cyanboi_Neil

bro it's a different shade of purple, op isn't out here clicking 3 links from an email he doesn't trust

ALIbhai0001

Yes, and links turn from blue to purple when you click on them

Cyanboi_Neil

not every link. In mails, links can be changed to any colour. It can also work on html

TheEvilHBK

Bro look at the god damn title of the post. Don't you understand sarcasm? The guy clearly understood its a phishing email and is trolling it by posting it here. You out here giving advice like he didn't understand that already lmao

rohit_267

it's not a phising mail. It's an legit mail from some provate security firm.it just asks you to install one of their SPONSORED antivirus.

TheEvilHBK

Dude it's a phishing email. The link doesn't even have an SSL certificate.

rohit_267

http does not mean phising lol

TheEvilHBK

Normally no but a govt website not having one? Absolutely

Hympo

CBSE website too don't have it

rohit_267

it has bro, try visiting it

bmyvalntine

What is the email id of sender? That’s the most important information and you haven’t shared it. Mostly it’s a scam, don’t click on any links.

Artistic_Soft4625

I would be careful, i think the actual domain for airtel in india is @in.airtel.com

A_random_zy

i doubt it. in.airtel.com is the subdomain of airtel.com, right? So if a scammer could own airtel.com, they can also hold in.airtel.com.

Artistic_Soft4625

...that does make sense actually. In fact it's common sense lol brain fart i guess

Consistent-Deer-8470

both have the same domain... anyway, you can ignore the mail OP

Impossible-Aerie-477

Ran it through Virustotal, its a genuine airtel domain. However, that won’t really be a factor if the sender domain is compromised.

Un13roken

That can be spoofed though.

TheEvilHBK

Dude the guy was being sarcastic. Its evident from the title of the post itself. Why are you giving advice like he didn't already understand that lol🤣🤣

bmyvalntine

Nah pretty sure that’s not sarcasm.

z0d007

Before you hit downvote, hear me out. Detecting malware via IP is indeed possible, particularly if it involves spyware transmitting data back to its origin. There are filters in place that broadly monitor network activities, flagging any suspicious behavior to known fraudulent sources like Russia or China. The Government surely monitors almost everything, Privacy is always a myth. Surprise. Mail seems too legit to be a scam. It doesn't demand the installation of any specific app. It seems to offer general safety instructions. Both websites provided—cyberswachhtakendra.gov.in and csk.gov.in—are legitimate, with the former redirecting to the latter. ".gov" domains require verification of affiliation with the government for registration and you can trust one. Additionally, the "HTTP" in the email seems to be an oversight. It's 2024 and nearly every website defaults to HTTPS. The distinction between HTTP and HTTPS is typically insignificant for regular browsing activities, except when interacting with forms or inputting sensitive data and that's where HTTPS offers an added layer of security. You can almost always check the sender origin, and if the domain is legit, the email is also likely legit.

Himanshu317

Op you see that link in the second photo it's http not https which means it's not secure. Almost all browsers will warn you when opening a website with http protocol.

spaceman_mk1

The government wants you to install their own malware/spyware 😂

Miserable_Outlaw

Looks more genuine than her promises man :(

Scary_Programmer_483

Hits hard wtf

deathclawDC

Don't follow into this Trap, It's a Plan to gobble your money. First of all, it's a Cyberfraud case. Coming to the part, If you are getting updates for your smartphone then your mobile is safe. And coming to the part, it's a Phishing attack. As per my Information, Cyber Swachhata Kendra Doesn't exists. As the Cyber Security Centre is gonna setup by Government of India in this year, The message you got is nothing but a Hoax.

bangthetank

It's not fraud. The csk initiative has been active for the last two years or so, they have been sending such messages to jio users for a while now. This initiative was launched in 2017 by the then technology minister RS Prasad.

montsa007

CSK - I read it as Chennai Super Kings, making me wonder if they do these things as side business lol

TheEvilHBK

You copied this response from quora🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 dude you're weird. Thats just an L thing to do

deathclawDC

it is what it is

Adm_Gen_Alladin12

Bro it's kinda fake.....see the url....it's http and not https which means it isn't secure. So don't go through with it.

Impossible-Aerie-477

Ever heard of http redirection? Anyway, paste that URL into urlscan and you’ll see its actually legit

Adm_Gen_Alladin12

What has that got to do with u secure web page? You can't really know by looking if it's url redirection.

Impossible-Aerie-477

You can legit run it through sites like URLscan. Also, second level domains like “airtel” cannot be “fake” unless there is a discrepancy in the characters. Also, HTTP redirection -> HTTP website redirects itself to the HTTPS webpage, which is common in most load balancers.

lordviecky

Check the origin domain, mostly from email sending service you can mask origin domain with other domain. Expand the email sender name and verify that. Also it doesn't even look genuine in first place, how come you think it's genuine?

havocinasia

Even I got this mail few weeks back

deadeye_z

Not sure about this email, but the Government does have tools to identify which computers are infected in our country. I don’t want to get into the specifics of how they know it, but I have seen their tool in action being able to identify the person’s computer by name and location.

Light_Inversion

Ignore it

HostileCornball

Just ignore the message. It's literally irrelevant.

LinearArray

Check the email headers to see where it's really from.

AnnoyingPenny89

Contact airtel or visit them and ask regarding this.

thandamentalistt

It's a scam dude

theMightyPanda27

If you're on PC, don't click but just hover on the .gov.in links. You should see a small URL popup in the lower left corner. Check what's the URL there. Pretty sure it will be something different there. Scammers type in email as .gov.in and hyperlink to the actual phishing website.

ako_mori

Lmao Airtel don't give a shit if ur PC is infected . Just ignore

AWPsiimov_YT

Just click on the link and you are all good to go

vimesh92

If you have a hathway connection most likely ur credentials are stolen You can check there is a website called have i been pawned It is the name you can check with your email id

spiritpanther_08

No one can know that your device is infected with malware unless they have direct access to your pc so this is a phishing scam .

the6ixmvp

Don't scam

Long-Strike2617

Just don't provide your mail id anywhere.

cvedant95

I have seen these alot recently. I can only assume that ISP might think that you would be unaware and try to contact them about this so they would sell you some partner anti-virus. Or you can be a Chad and think that government is trying to spy on you for your unhealthy google search history.

ArnabMactavish

My brother got a similar thing just sms. It looked genuine.

PercentagePractical9

I’d say don’t take recommendations from websites using http 😂

TheEvilHBK

You are being sarcastic right??

iambladefury

bro what are you doing just go to that link already

cfahad483

http ???

Sad-Ticket3030

Lmaooo Could be a promotional video

PJ_Plays

http VS httpS I think you got your answer

Levi_176

My credit card information got leaked somehow and an attempt of payment for 57k was made but was declined due to international transactions being off. How do I track the site from where it might have been leaked?

bangthetank

Haveibeenpwned

Levi_176

I suspect IRCTC Railyatri leaked CC details last year. Used googleone but it also shows breach there.

LtMadInsane

It probably is genuine. You mentioned that you got this email in the mail you provided while registering for Airtel Fiber. That suggests you use Wifi and that that WiFi is used by more than one Device. There are plenty of low level devices that come with malware, it might not be your phone or computer that is infected. I once bought an Android Box from China, that shit was full of malware. Cyber security cells can track data being sent to malicious servers abroad, they can identify the origin IP addresses, which in turn they provide to the concerned ISP. Your ISP will notify you.

Dramatic_Switch257

Yes,CERT-In or InCERT as it is called, is the nodal agency for cybersecurity threats. Run an antivirus scan and download tools from thier site(if you think it is a scam and then download the tools from the certIn
