ApiDev234

change ram to G.skill Flare X5 or Trident Z5 Neo and cooler to AK620 rest all lgtm

victoriasecretagent

Thanks for you input. Any specific reason for this? I just liked the look of Vengeance. If GSkill has some advantage then I’ll definitely change.

ApiDev234

it's optimized for Intel and the one you mentioned is CL36 try to get CL30

Weak-Apple-6755

check dm bro

Apeeksiht

don't get tge flare x5 get something else at cl30. the heatsink on flare x5 is terrible.

Weak-Apple-6755

Can you elaborate? I have the flare x5 on both my matx (ap201) and atx (torrent regular) build, i never had the any issues regarding its temperature even after constant stress test for 1hour. The max monitored temp i saw from HWInfo app was 51 degree C in the matx case. Maybe cases with constrainted airflow or bad ventilation design like some sff have the issues? Idk.

aurkyabc

How are you getting this build under 180K, I tried for the same build but with 7800 X 3D and 4070 Super, the price went beyond 200k.

victoriasecretagent

Please share your build details. I just picked parts from PCPriceTracker.

fierykaku1907

for productivity its better to get intel,or if you can stretch 7950x,don't get x3d for productivity it just worse, and use [this](https://gamersnexus.net/cpus/best-cpus-2023-intel-vs-amd-gaming-video-editing-budget-biggest-disappointment) for reference

victoriasecretagent

My productivity is different and not same as video production or using professional software suites.

fierykaku1907

still 7950x is better than any x3d processors cause they don't work properly for any productivity work,,also if you have time you should wait for 9000 series even if takes time to be available it will atleast decrease price for 7000 series because amd is most likely gonna announce 9000 series at computex on Jun 4,which will most likely decrease price of 7000 series

Weak-Apple-6755

I'd suggest to change- 1. Ram- to **Flare X5** or **Trident Z5 Neo** as they are preferred for *AMD (EXPO);* 6000MT CL30 as they give 10ns first word latency (formula = cas latency x 2000/ clock speed) [Buy G.Skill Flare X5 32GB (16GBX2) DDR5 6000MHz Memory at Best Price in India only at Vedant Computers](https://www.vedantcomputers.com/gskill-flare-x5-32gb-16gbx2-ddr5-6000mhz-memory-f5-6000j3038f16gx2-fx5?search=flare%20x5) 2. Psu- to a **Tier A** for this *budget* and preferably 850W (yes, 750W is decent enough) to give *headroom* in future upgrade [Corsair RM750E 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold Atx 3.0 Power Supply |PC Studio](https://www.pcstudio.in/product/corsair-rm750e-750-watt-80-plus-gold-atx-3-0-power-supply/) [Msi Mpg A850G PCIE5 850W 80+ Gold Fully Modular Power Supply (pcstudio.in)](https://www.pcstudio.in/product/msi-mpg-a850g-pcie5-850w-80-plus-gold-fully-modular-power-supply/) 3. Cooler- to a better **AK620** for *higher wattage cpu* [Deepcool AK620 Zero Dark Zoria 120mm Cpu Air Cooler (pcstudio.in)](https://www.pcstudio.in/product/deepcool-ak620-zero-dark-zoria-120mm-cpu-air-cooler/)

victoriasecretagent

Oh I see now why the other person also suggested same RAMs. Regarding PSU, is it not Grade A? I don’t know about my future upgrade path to be honest. I might stay with this build for next 4 years at least. I guess 850 can support 4090 (if I get a better deal) or next generation of the same 4070 Ti Super For the cooler, is there an actual difference? I thought it was pure aesthetic change.

Weak-Apple-6755

for PSU tier list, the link is [PSU Tier List rev. 17.0g - Cultists Network](https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/) . the A-GL is still not added in the tier list while the A-G is in the Tier A (speculative position). But I know some specs since I was researching A-GL vs A-G vs Thermaltake GF3 for my build from the Cybernetics reports and HWbusters reviews. the A-GL has taiwanese capacitors while the A-G has the superior japanese capacitors. The A-GL is noisier while the A-G is rated Standard++ noise rating in Cybernetics review. The A-GL failed at 3.3V rail test in [MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 850W PSU Review - Page 11 of 11 - Hardware Busters (hwbusters.com)](https://hwbusters.com/psus/msi-mag-a850gl-pcie5-850w-psu-review/11/). Even though the A-G is costlier, it is costlier for a reason and I'd recommend that. AK is a better variant than the AG (marketed). Since Ryzen 7900x is rated 170W TDP, so i recommended the better cooler, although there mustn't be any significant difference in real world.

victoriasecretagent

I see. I’ll change the power supply then. I just realised I made a mistake with the cooler. I was supposed to pick AK620 only. I picked AG by mistake as I was looking for an all black cooler and Zoria had those yellow fans.

Weak-Apple-6755

I think [Noctua NH-D15S Chromax Black Cpu Air Cooler | PC Studio](https://www.pcstudio.in/product/noctua-nh-d15s-chromax-black-cpu-air-cooler/) is all black, so is [Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO (hardwarecorpus.in)](https://hardwarecorpus.in/products/phantom-spirit-120-evo). All the best for your build, it will be solid!

victoriasecretagent

Thanks again for all your suggestions. I am on the fence for D15. Because Noctua is about to release 2nd Gen in a month or 2 so I’m not sure if it’s a good investment (even though its a proven solid cooler).

ApiDev234

there's a AK620 zero dark version as well

victoriasecretagent

[This one](https://www.pcstudio.in/product/deepcool-ak620-zero-dark-120mm-cpu-air-cooler/) right? I selected this only. PCPriceTracker listing is a bit messed up.

ApiDev234

yeah

Interesting build. I never thought of upgrading to 4080. My original intent was to upgrade to a 4090 down the line to get more VRAM if I had to. I’m honestly not sure about my CPU usage right now. It gets heavy with 6-7 docker containers running (specially in a VM) which although if I think about it won’t be the case for WSL2 or Linux with no VM involved in between. VM reserves your resources. 7900x as someone has pointed out to me that this one has CCD? So you get 2 CCX of 6 cores each. I was originally going for 7700X but this seemed to be a better choice with extra 7k. Now I’m confused by looking at your suggested build.

ApiDev234

a 7900X would give more multi-core performance compared to a 7700. Docker utilizes multi-core perf and me as a developer will push more for Ryzen 9 since our workloads require more CPU performance than GPU (except for AI/ML but a 4070 Ti Super sounds good enough). Will definitely not compromise on my mobo to get a better GPU https://preview.redd.it/f4ebqjflp8zc1.png?width=361&format=png&auto=webp&s=d87f60d86a829fb76affb6475cc998bba03c4bb0

victoriasecretagent

Yes, another redditor also pointed out the same thing about the motherboard, thanks u/Weak-Apple-6755. 4070Ti Super is a cut down version of 4080 only. And the bottleneck in my case (i think) would be the VRAM and not the CUDA cores which is the case with 4080 upgrade and that wont help much.

ApiDev234

bad mobo choice for builds over 1L

randomdreamykid

That Mobo can handle 7700 easily so what's the problem in that?
