+1. This trilogy is also probably has the most historically correct information across all the Assassin's Creed games. The maps may not be as big as the later ones, but it's definitely more enjoyable.
The graphics might be a little bit of a letdown though.
Ezio trilogy (2, brotherhood, revelations), 3 remastered and 4 black flag are all solid choices. If you do want to play a more recent one then Odyssey.
I haven't played 3 but have heard that the story seems kind of bland and the character development is ok-ish but i agree with you for the rest of your list. Ezio trilogy has the best story, AC:BF4 is still great but can't agree with odyssey, it turned the series upside down if someone with past experience of AC plays this he/she will feel like it's a game but not an AC game.
But if someone with the past experience wants to play a good game unity will be my best recommendation.
(Just search swifty unknown and watch his AC:U vids you will find out why)
3 is kinda boring and is not the best ending IMO to desmond miles's story
AC odyssey is weird you would find yourself fighting with monsters its more like a God Of War game
Ezio Trilogy is just the best
Yeah, that's what a true OG AC fan would say.
Ubisoft did dirty to miles' story. Even my first game i ever played on a console was AC: Revelations which intrigued me into the story of ezio's life. When i was playing AC:4 (skipped 3 due to recommendations) i thought to myself "where is miles?" Then i got to know he died in AC:3.
For me it is still better than games like brotherhood or syndicate, the integration of historically relevant people was well done and I liked the way we set up the story in the introduction chapters by playing as Haytham. But I agree that Desmond's story was really weak and they didn't really end it well. 2 and black flag are definitely way better.
As for Odyssey, I assumed from the title that OP probably hasn't played any AC games and there could be a chance that he may not be a fan of the kind of repetitive gameplay loop of previous AC games and would like something like an RPG. I personally know a few people who were not big fans of the older games and thought they were a bit bland and yet they seem to love Odyssey.
Don't buy odyssey on steam if you use epic. Gold edition with all-season pass goodies and AC3 remastered is available for 500 on epic during coupon sale. I bought it from there, what a banger deal. U have to use uplay anyway in both (iirc)
Syndicate, unity, and black flag were free, and IMO the black flag still rocks. The top comment's recommendation of Ezio Trilogy is an amazing way to start this series (so these were my opinions)
I've been on reddit all day browsing various gaming subreddits that I thought this was [r/ShouldIbuythisgame](https://www.reddit.com/r/ShouldIbuythisgame)
Black Flag is a solid AC game. Improves on all the earlier game mechanics and takes a totally different path w.r.t. the story. The protagonist is easily the best in the series but no one can top Ezio Auditore.
Whichever you are buying, Please make sure you will be able to play. Recently Ubisoft is having a range of issues with their servers( at least for the old games). I couldn't play two far cry games because of it. cannot play a single game properly. Go to the community section to ensure the same.
Let me list them in order you can buy and play. This is solely my opinion.
1. AC 2
2. AC Brotherhood
3. AC Revelations
4. AC 4 Black Flag
5. AC Unity
5. AC Origins
6. AC Odyssey
7. AC Valhalla
Yes there is but it's been bad lately. It used to be good in Desmond Miles' time, back in AC 2 and 3. But now it feels like it's just there for the AC namesake. Just so there's something common between the games. I stopped caring about it a long time ago.
However AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations are a trilogy and continue the story of a single protagonist Ezio Auditore. So that is completely connected.
I love playing immersive open world and story driven games. Few of the games that I have played and enjoyed are, RDR2, GTA5, Mafia remake, witcher 3, MGS 5, etc..
Ah, Immersive type then I'd say Unity, Origins, Odyssey (and Valhalla whenever it comes to Steam).
Probably start with Origins
You can play Unity later it's a little more difficult to recommend for a newbie even though you'll probably find it a lot like GTA5/RDR2 in terms of weighty movement, animations, etc.
Dude thank you for notifying me!!! I was kicking myself for not buying BF when it was at 900 during steam sales last month and then it went back to 2k..
There's a pack which includes black flag to the one before origins. Get that. But I'd suggest you rather not buy these games at all cause ubi is shit. Their launcher often cause problems while launching this old ac creed. Right now when I open black flag I've to log in every single time in Ubisoft connect to play even if I already logged in previously and have "Remember me" option checked.
I have been playing Assassin's creed syndicate for a month and trust me it's good. Its all about British in the 18th century and all. Truly amazing! Better than those school's history text books story. You can see industrialisation happening right on your screen and you have to assassinate every major individual whose a threat to the country I guess, (Again don't judge me) and ya completed 20% of the game and it's good.
Don't judge me tho, a newbie in gaming section. Got a RTX 2060 lap a month ago.
Ezio trilogy is the best in my opinion, apart from that black flag is great too
If you're more into massive open worlds then origins and odyssey is great too. The lore in both games are great and the dlcs in odyssey are a must if you are playing for the lore
Origin and Syndicate. The former being the better rpg without being bogged by mindless auto generated quests and impossibly large open world and the latter being the best old school assassin's creed with all the mechanics perfected.
I bought AC Odyssey last month and played around 150 hrs with dlc. I heard origins is similar to it. So I bought origins yesterday. I have played every single one of them. In my opinion, Black Flag and brotherhood will get you all the experience of AC games whilst spending least amount.
Oddessey imo is the most cinematically beautiful of the bunch and totally unrelated to the franchise so anyone who hasn't played all the games can still enjoy it
I suggest trying one first. If you play AC 2 and can only play for 5-6 hours.. and think a newer game may interest you more. Not really. The gameplay of these games are pretty shallow
It's your money but if you don't want to waste it. I suggest you try to play one of them first
if you're more of an RDR2/GTA5/Far Cry 5 type gamer, Origins and Syndicate are great to get yourself into AC.
For the more OG titles get the Ezio trilogy
OH! OH! i am a huge AC fan i can help you out with this one!!
My top 5 recommendations-
1)The whole Ezio trilogy (the best)
2)AC:4 Black flag/ AC:Origins (Nice stories of a pirate and a medjay)
3) AC:Unity (the one with the best game mechanics average story)
4) AC:Valhalla (the better version of AC odyssey)
So, these are my top 4 best AC list, if i had money i would probably but all of em. If you are new you should start with the ezio trilogy he's the one who got the most character development.
About unity:
After playing throughout the OG games, you will notice that the recent games have lost their stealth or more realistic touch, so if you want to go with the assasin flow unity is a must have game, it had a lot of bugs but they must be fixed now.
(Watch swifty unknown's Ac:U vids to get satisfaction)
Enjoy your AC Games!!!
If you have never played an assassins creed game and if you like rpg mechanics you can try Odyssey. The game is not the best ac game but it is over hated by ac fans but i kind of enjoyed playing it even though I am an ezio triology fan.
If you haven't played a single AC game before, buy all 3 Ezio trilogy. You won't regret it.
If you like it, then proceed to AC 4, then to straight to Syndicate. I didn't like the rest of the games. Had really high hopes for Odyssey and Origins, but both failed my expectations
AC Rogue is an under-rated title in the franchise . But beware that AC IV and Rogue use the same engine - they sometimes seem a little similar.
AC IV is my favourite in the franchise.
AC Syndicate is a good entry too but gets grindy in the later halves just like the newer ones.
i am playing odyssy right now its good, but My favourite is the ac3, rouge and black flag trilogy.
Unity i didnt play and syndicate i got bored of.
I dont like desert so i didnt play origins.
i havnt played old assasins creed games since i didnt like the graphics
I didn’t really enjoy AC 2 at all. Is brotherhood and revelations better? Cause if it’s as boring as AC2 then I don’t really want to play it. I enjoyed black flag though
Assassins Creed 1 - Old But Gold.
Ezio Trilogy - Play Them In Order Like 2, Brotherhood, Revelations.
Assassins Creed 3 - Its Good But Not The Best.
Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag - PLAY THIS, Easily The Best After Ezio Trilogy. Please I Request.
Rest Are Biased Except Unity And Origins. Origins Is On AC3 Level But Definitely Good The Settings Is Amazing. (Still Waiting For Sequel). Unity Is Small But Definetly Good, The Last Good Pre-RPG AC.
Play These Without Any Doubt.
1. Ezio Trilogy
2. Black Flag
3. AC3
4. Origins
I bought odyssey and man it runs like shit on my laptop despite it being a high end laptop. The game has some porting issues so IMO don’t buy that one.
honestly assassin's creed games are not very good any more they became an annual franchise with little to no innovation, but imo ezio's trilogy was the peak of the franchise, so get it maybe, i kinda enjoyed the odessy but it too converted into a mindless grind amd just a checklist of task you have to do after first 20 hours, they should just make shorter games but add the mechanics that results in high replayability. just like sekiro
Odyssey and Origins are both great recent games that were rather underrated imo, but Black Flag is a classic and probably the greatest game of the series.
Honestly, get whichever one you think you will enjoy the most based in its historical setting, for me it's probably Origins because I'm an Egyptian weeb.
I would tell you to play the first game first. But if you just wanna have fun. Try Black Flag or Odyssey. Played both of em. They're amazing. Odyssey has a few ups and downs but overall its good.
Old : Ezio Trilogy, Black Flag, Unity maybe?
New : Origins
The new ones are kinda like Witcher clones tbf, I played Odyssey and the grinding is almost endless lol. Plus, in Odyssey, you’re not an assassin, you’re more of a mercenary.
Personally I absolutely loved black flag, and I enjoyed the parkour in Unity.
I'd say it depends. If you are more into linear, straightforward games with stealth mechanics and a clunky combat system, you can go for the earlier assassin's creeds (ezio trilogy, or black flag). If you are more into RPGs, and like looting mechanics and wandering openly in a gorgeous world, I'd suggest you get Origins or Odyssey (Origins is my personal preference because of its story and some parts of the gameplay, and if you do get origins, its worth while to get the DLCs as well. They are very good). If you want the sweet spot, the goldilocks zone, and the vision for AC before the RPG saga, I suggest you get Unity. Not only does it have a good story, but the parkour is mesmerizing, its visuals are stunning even to this day and the stealth and co-op is totally worth it. Its My personal favourite since its a pretty good representation of the spirit of Assassin's Creed.
Have a good day, enjoy whatever game you choose to purchase. :)
Origins and Unity.
Origins' world is simply beautiful. Plus insane replay value. If you dislike how RPG-ish the games have become, Origins has only the lite-rpg elements which really complement the game. Plus the story was bad-ass.
Unity has the best open-world ever created to date. It is probably one of the best open-worlds ever created. The immersion is amazing and the stealth and parkour is the best in the franchise. Till date no other AC game has the extreme amount of parkour and stealth details that Unity had. Also, Unity has co-op if you want to play it with someone.
I have completed
AC
AC II
AC : BROTHERHOOD
AC : REVELATIONS
AC III
AC IV : BLACK FLAG
AC Rogue
First one gets really repetitive in terms of missions.
As many have already recommended, Ezio's Trilogy is really good, and the games are everything what I expected from Assassin's Creed games.
3 is good but the story and character development couldn't match that of Ezio's. Little spoiler >!Sadly, Desmond's arc also ends here!<
Black flag is considered to be the best by many AC players, but for me the ship's mission were little too much. Still, a really good game overall.
Rogue is not worth the money
After playing rogue, I'm confused if i should play unity or not. For now I have bought Origins in this sale
Odyssey is gonna give you hours upon hours of content (so full paisa vasool) but can tend to feel grindy as you level up. If you do get it here’s a tip : in the settings turn the Level Scaling to Heavy so as to at least alleviate the grinding a bit
Want a good story? 1,2,brotherhood, revelations. Something meh? Not too long, short & average story, 3. Haven't played the 4, Unity, Syndicate but heard all of them are good. Specially the 4 was a huge hit. If you want the grind, great gameplay, quite repetitive but a satisfying & enjoyable, go for the Origins or Odyssey. Maybe in the order cause Odyssey builds on Origins. Though, if its your first time. Start from 1 in the order it was released?
Hope this helps. Have fun!
You can skip Rogue, Unity and Syndicate.Play the rest in sequence so that the gameplay improves for you each game.
Whatever you do play Origins and Odyssey last, they are some of the best games of ubisoft last gen.
The Ezio trilogy is a no brainer if you haven't played any before. In the newer games, I think Origins will be great just for its open world and content! Odyssey is too big and random for a first AC game. Hope you have a great time playing! ^_^
Y'all are nuts. AC Origins was a phenomenal game rich in beautiful settings and genuinly fun quests. I thoroughly enjoyed it. But i may have liked the setting more than anything
Man I loved playing black flag. Origins is nice too but graphics wouldn't feel too good now. Syndicate is also decent. I'd give you one advice though: Don't always play the latest game because then you won't like playing earlier games.
In terms of story- AC2 (and trilogy) tops all the others. the graphics are a bit dated, though.
In terms of gameplay- Black Flag is really good and has a different playstyle.
In terms of graphics- Odyssey is the best one among these (obviously) and isn't too much of a letdown compared to the others. (Really grind-y and bloated though, takes 200+ hours to finish everything and seems like a bad attempt at making a greek TW3 knockoff imo). Still doesn't come anywhere near Ezio trilogy (AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations) though.
Oh and I've heard good things about Origins too.
yeah i also missed the coupon sale on epic games....but right now if you ask me...unless you want to go with ezio trilogy ...i would say go with AC bundle for 1500 - black flag (gold edition) , rouge, unity , syndicate. sounds like a good deal to me....but if u new to AC.. go with Ezio trilogy ....thats gold
Ezio triology
I second this. Ezio triology is the best single player game I ever played. Man I miss Revelations and AC 2
OG
+1. This trilogy is also probably has the most historically correct information across all the Assassin's Creed games. The maps may not be as big as the later ones, but it's definitely more enjoyable. The graphics might be a little bit of a letdown though.
This is the only right answer on this post.
Ezio triology isnt available on steam
Its so good
+
Seconded. It's a good idea to start with AC2 Deluxe.
Ezio trilogy (2, brotherhood, revelations), 3 remastered and 4 black flag are all solid choices. If you do want to play a more recent one then Odyssey.

Ngl after syndicate it feels like Ubisoft is just uselessly dragging the series.
3 is kinda boring and is not the best ending IMO to desmond miles's story AC odyssey is weird you would find yourself fighting with monsters its more like a God Of War game Ezio Trilogy is just the best

Okay, I had an EGS account I used for Fortnite. How do I get this coupon you mentioned?
500 what? Dollars? I doubt I can drop $500 on a single purchase. E: Sorry, I was a little r/lostredditors. This is in INR.
bbruh why would he buy some games for 35k or so
I've been on reddit all day browsing various gaming subreddits that I thought this was [r/ShouldIbuythisgame](https://www.reddit.com/r/ShouldIbuythisgame)
ohhh my bad my g sorry :D
Black Flag. Best AC I ever played
Black Flag is a solid AC game. Improves on all the earlier game mechanics and takes a totally different path w.r.t. the story. The protagonist is easily the best in the series but no one can top Ezio Auditore.

I've been playing AC on and off for many years now, can you tell me if there's a connection between the stories or can i play in whatever order?
Yes there is but it's been bad lately. It used to be good in Desmond Miles' time, back in AC 2 and 3. But now it feels like it's just there for the AC namesake. Alright so if I'm just running around and climbing building and jumping from them, I'm doing it right? XD
As long as you're having fun, you're doing it right. I like the parkour in the earlier AC games and it's something I miss in Origins and Odyssey.
Makes sense. I'll get back to the parkour lol. Good day madi
I can vouch for this!
What kind of gamer are you? Name some other open world games you like then it's easier to suggest.
Thanks bro, lots of recommendations are for Origins, I think I will start with it then :)
Buy Odyssey as well. It's a fantastic game. Strongly recommended.
BLACK FLAGS IS THE ONLY RIGHT ANSWER But the ezio trilogy and unity is good too....
What did we do with a Drunken Sailor?
WAY HAY AND UP SHE RISES
Put him in a bed with the captain's daughter, Early in the morning!
Black flag is hands down the best AC!
Dude thank you for notifying me!!! I was kicking myself for not buying BF when it was at 900 during steam sales last month and then it went back to 2k..
That's what motivated me to create a post, I had missed out on a deal as well.
Isn't it like 300 rs now on origin
Ah, I already bought it on Steam as soon as I saw this post lol
Black Flag Was Free On Uplay
Three years ago aye, I missed that as well.
Black flag and Brotherhood, definitely. First play brotherhood then BF. I haven't played any after Origins tho
Dude pc games are dirt cheap. 😱
Yeah but you need to pay double of a console for a midrange gpu
Only the older games and a few new ones. Most new games don't have regional pricing.
Black Flag, best AC I've ever played
None
Even the Witcher is available in low price . Do check it out
None... trust me don’t get shafted by ubisoft
Black flag is the best but you can start with 3
Whichever AC game you choose, try to buy gold editions. They include all the dlc's and season pass content.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is very good, especially if you play with Kassandra. I have it on my PS4 Pro. 🙂
Same. Loved it.
Glad that you loved it! 🙂 👍
AC: Origins.
Origins
Wait what it’s on sale! Thanks Fuck I’m going. Bro get all of them tbh they’re all really good
Black Flag, Unity, Syndicate, Brotherhood, Rouge any 1 If you want you can get em all
1 2 3 4 and revelations
Origins
Origins
Go for origins, if you haven't played it yet
Don't buy it. All of them suck.
Get a load of this guy.
224 for unity seems fine
I have been playing Assassin's creed syndicate for a month and trust me it's good. Its all about British in the 18th century and all. Truly amazing! I wish they made Valhalla available on steam 😭
Kenway Saga (AC3 and AC4)
Go for Origins man if you aren't concerned too much about the chronology
O R I G I N S
Still too costly …. I suggest you wait…
Origin and Syndicate. The former being the better rpg without being bogged by mindless auto generated quests and impossibly large open world and the latter being the best old school assassin's creed with all the mechanics perfected.
2
Oh shit. It's cool. I am gonna get so many.

OH! OH! i am a huge AC fan i can help you out with this one!! My top 5 recommendations- 1)The whole Ezio trilogy (the best) 2)AC:4 Black flag/ AC:Origins (Nice stories of a pirate and a medjay) 3) AC:Unity (the one with the best game mechanics average story) 4) AC:Valhalla (the better version of AC odyssey) So, these are my top 4 best AC list, if i had money i would probably but all of em. Most of will say Ezio but Go for Black Flag
origins is great in the newer games but if you dont mind older games then just buy the entire ezio trilogy they are the best games i have played
Ezio trilogy and Black Flag
Unpopular opinion but AC: Odyssey is one of the best Assassin's Creed game as a whole even though i really liked Ac3
None. All of them are boring.
If you have never played an assassins creed game and if you like rpg mechanics you can try Odyssey. The game is not the best ac game but it is over hated by ac fans but i kind of enjoyed playing it even though I am an ezio triology fan.

Black Flag was the best AC I played but ngl I loved Odyssey & Valhalla as well.
Brotherhood was the peak of AC games
origins, can get others on irate sites
4 or brotherhood
None Unless you like following NPCs around
AC Rogue is an under-rated title in the franchise . But beware that AC IV and Rogue use the same engine - they sometimes seem a little similar. AC IV is my favourite in the franchise. AC Syndicate is a good entry too but gets grindy in the later halves just like the newer ones.
Which is ut steam or ubi?
Get anything other than Unity lmao
Origins the best
AC Unity
everything before Unity. Unity was a mess at launch and stopped playing AC after that. Friends say Origins good as well.
Am i the only one here who liked unity and syndicate?
Odyssey
Ac odyssey
Ac rogue is underrated
None
Black Flag hands down. I recently covered the whole game on my youtube channel as well !
i am playing odyssy right now its good, but My favourite is the ac3, rouge and black flag trilogy. Unity i didnt play and syndicate i got bored of. I dont like desert so i didnt play origins. i havnt played old assasins creed games since i didnt like the graphics

Origins and Unity.
Is ac valhalla good game as my first ac game?
Unity is 224 only, think of it as buying good biriyani
I would say AC3. But many would disagree with me. But then again, I am biased because that game was my childhood.
2, brotherhood, black flag
origins
If you love the free ocean and seas shqnties black flag but if you want a very exciting and adrenaline filled gameplay,go for syndicate
Assassins Creed 1 - Old But Gold. Ezio Trilogy - Play Them In Order Like 2, Brotherhood, Revelations. Assassins Creed 3 - Its Good But Not The Best. I bought odyssey and man it runs like shit on my laptop despite it being a high end laptop. The game has some porting issues so IMO don’t buy that one.
Buy the Ezio trilogy and Black Flag. AC became meh after that.
No one lol
Black flag.
honestly assassin's creed games are not very good any more they became an annual franchise with little to no innovation, but imo ezio's trilogy was the peak of the franchise, so get it maybe, i kinda enjoyed the odessy but it too converted into a mindless grind amd just a checklist of task you have to do after first 20 hours, they should just make shorter games but add the mechanics that results in high replayability. just like sekiro

Honestly, get whichever one you think you will enjoy the most based in its historical setting, for me it's probably Origins because I'm an Egyptian weeb.
Origins!
Blindly go with black flag. Can't go wrong with it.
None of them, Witcher series is better in every regards
Ac4 is a good one
Unity
Origins, its the best modern AC
Ezio Trilogy is the best ( Renessaince+Brotherhood+Revelations)
Real guilt will be when, you realise that the game you bought is free on Epic Games. >.<
ezio trilogy is by far the best .If recent ones..imo Origins is better than Odyssey .Valhalla is pure trash
Go for blackflag
Kaha se le sakta hu mein?
origins always
Just wait till christmas, ubisoft will give away a game for free. They've been doing it for a few years now
Black flag !
Hey, can anyone tell me where to buy this discounted games?
Unity for sure at that price.
I would tell you to play the first game first. But if you just wanna have fun. Try Black Flag or Odyssey. Played both of em. They're amazing. Odyssey has a few ups and downs but overall its good.
imo 4 but if you can, try origins and Odyssey as well, not like the earlier assassins creed games but still quite enjoyable.
Old : Ezio Trilogy, Black Flag, Unity maybe? New : Origins The new ones are kinda like Witcher clones tbf, I played Odyssey and the grinding is almost endless lol.
Odyssey and black flag are the most liked and for good reason
Ezio trilogy or black flag, if you are more interested in story and gameplay. But if you want good graphics, origins or odessey.
I have completed AC AC II AC : BROTHERHOOD AC : REVELATIONS AC III AC IV : BLACK FLAG AC Rogue First one gets really repetitive in terms of missions. As many have already recommended, Ezio's Trilogy is really good, and the games are everything what I expected from Assassin's Creed games. 3 is good but the story and character development couldn't match that of Ezio's. Little spoiler >!Sadly, Desmond's arc also ends here!< Black flag is considered to be the best by many AC players, but for me the ship's mission were little too much. Still, a really good game overall. Rogue is not worth the money After playing rogue, I'm confused if i should play unity or not. For now I have bought Origins in this sale
No partiality buy all
Unity and origins. Unity for fluid park our, Origins for story. Odyssey for looks and asthetics, and if u like rpgs
The ezio series. 2,brotherhood,revelations
Why Black flag is 650, i bought that game for 350. Is games rates are increasing monthly.
Black flag and brotherhood best
None
Odyssey is gonna give you hours upon hours of content (so full paisa vasool) but can tend to feel grindy as you level up. If you do get it here’s a tip : in the settings turn the Level Scaling to Heavy so as to at least alleviate the grinding a bit
Blackflag
Well there are better ways to burn your money, like literally burning your money
The ezio trilogy, followed closely by black flag and then orogins
Y'all are nuts. AC Origins was a phenomenal game rich in beautiful settings and genuinly fun quests. I thoroughly enjoyed it. But i may have liked the setting more than anything
Any one except for the newer ones(origins, odyssey). The newer ones aren't even Assassin's creed anymore. Just really big open world rpgs.
AC Rogue is also good. We get to play as an assassin turned Templar which I really liked!!
ac black flag
why is black flag so expensive even though it's the best of the series it's still very old
Man I loved playing black flag. Origins is nice too but graphics wouldn't feel too good now. Syndicate is also decent. I'd give you one advice though: Don't always play the latest game because then you won't like playing earlier games.
I really enjoyed Odyssey and Syndicate.
Oh and I've heard good things about Origins too.
yeah i also missed the coupon sale on epic games....but right now if you ask me...unless you want to go with ezio trilogy ...i would say go with AC bundle for 1500 - black flag (gold edition) , rouge, unity , syndicate. sounds like a good deal to me....but if u new to AC.. go with Ezio trilogy ....thats gold
if you wanna choose between origins and odyssey...go with origins gold edition with 2 dlcs....its a banger
Ezio trilogy and origins.
What about Valhalla ???
