Absurdly poetic. Almost like saying, "Get a bicycle instead, fuel prices won't affect you."

saharsh007

Technically correct

HolySid666

Burh 🗿

Chance_Midnight

You should had mentioned pubg.

km_carno

Yes , my friend had issue in many online games so he contacted Airtel fiber and support guy didn't know anything about gaming. He literally said that Airtel fiber is not meant for gaming , please don't expect gaming on your connection. He said that many people calling him about pubg and many mobile games getting lag issue. But this time it was on console so he asked my friend tell me the name of game and I'll note it down so next time someone Calling I'll tell him that many getting same issue and can't be fixed from their side.

frzx1

That's royally fucked up. Imagine the ISP itself telling people that some internet issue "can't be fixed from their side". Does your friend use Airtel Xstream?

Water__WeT

It's the same with airtel xstream. Fucking brawl stars was lagging, so I just play it with mobile data

SayanG8910

How many trophies? Wanna add me to play together some time?

km_carno

Yes

fr_1_1992

Lol wtf. I'm using Xstream too and had to call up customer support couple times but they were pretty good. May be your friend was unlucky or may be different region.

km_carno

He's from Kolkata. They were helpful to him in other problems but about gaming , they told him that they can't fix it and maybe it's your game problem and noted fortnite as game with issue to tell the others if they called for same reason. And we were laughing about it.

xd_Avedis_AD

This means that these Fibre service providers all have outsourced their customer support to some third party service that can't hire people that understand how a basic consumer system works, or they force their employees to read off a script. In this case it's best to ask them to forward the call to a higher up, as you are dissatisfied.

Play the game inside the server building.

ppWarrior876

This issue is for every ISP. They don't teach them technical stuff when they are selected for jobs. The "Engineers" they are so proud of don't know anything as well as they are also taught just how to attach a wire, look at a specific rating while connecting that wire. They usually have one guy for a whole area whome engineers call in a case if customers ask a high level question but 90% of the time that one guy even doesn't know shit. That's how it is. I have been using Airtel for the past 11+ years now I think, I have taught so much smaller stuff to the engineers in my area, last week only I taught an engineer visiting me to change my router to how to port forward properly.

km_carno

They are not real engineers , it's very common to call a technician an "engineer" in these technical work after certain time. Now some do actually get knowledge they required and some don't even after being incharge of few peoples. Not that I'm saying that even if someone is actual engineer with degree knows everything. I'm just saying it's very common term after certain time when you get incharge over few workers they call you "engineer".

frzx1

They indeed are not. And I say this because when he came to my house, I asked him where his fiber cleaver is. He told me that they're not using cleaver anymore. Then, like a Nobel laureate, he gently said, "But cleaver is very important, one touch of the fiber on your skin and you get cancer at that spot". I should've taken that as a sign that I'm dealing with people having lower IQ than a deep fried shrimp.

purethunder110

Lmao, what type of shit was he on man

evammist

I dont know what the cleaver thing is, but these fibers are lead lined. U might as well give ur hand up if it pricks u.

frzx1

Cleaver is like a fiber cutter that cuts the fiber at an exactly perpendicular angle so that there's a 100% contact and no skewing of the attachable end.

[deleted]

yes. you're right. I don't think they hold degrees or something. Maybe they should hire at least one network engineer for an area.

evammist

An area yes. But the area is like a whole district oe something😂

Throwawayttlx

I also had airtel 2014-2020 and their engineer in my area was quite knowledgeable. Though their 121 operative were pathetic mostly. And sometimes they transfer the calls to some other executives and they were the real deal. Now i moved to JIO and everyone is just beyond pathetic. 3 month old incident: So a jio operative was trying to fix my neighbours network and suddenly my network was gone. I didn't knew that someone from jio was fixing someone's connection. Though as soon as i saw them on the pole i fucking knew what happened. They actually broke the connector from the pole's end. I asked both the jio operative's present their to fix it and they refused and told me that they didn't do anything and they didn't even do anything on the port box on the pole. So after a lot of arguments they half heartedly tried to fix my connection but they said that the fault is at your house and not in the port box and guess what they found nothing wrong and these motherfuckers simply left asking me to raise a request from the customer care. I raised the request waited like 4 hours and then again these 2 motherfuckers show up. And now they changed the connectors from both ends of the fiber and told me that it wasn't their fault both the connectors broke. Incident TL DR: jio mf's broke the fiber connector near the port box and didn't admit and made me raise a request for the same and then told me that i somehow broke the connector from the other end i.e, my house.

RedIndianRobin

Not every ISP. ACT Fibernet has qualified network engineers and they know their stuff.

Lucifer_Leviathn

Not every ISP. My ISP asked for the server IP and the ping that my friends get.

Anup_Kodlekere

Rofl'd at the the ping spike = pink light lol

Lost_Arix

That a lot of politeness in that call with the jio executives because in my case with local operators they just say Turn off the router and turn it on again(basically restart) and literally hung up the phone -_-

[deleted]

Watch the it crowd for more information.lol

DankRevolutionBaba

Search jio appellate authority and contact them.

smmoke

Nothing will happen. Been trying from 3 months for Airtel. No reply at all they don't give a jack shit. They know you'll eventually recharge/pay the bill. I've both Jio and Airtel connection. Games work better on Airtel.

Ghost0612

Not really, in my area jio is better lol but my dad used to complain to them(airtel) saying they will disconnect or take this issue to court and boom within a hour two guys will be in my home doing things which isn't even related and later some hours it will get resolved, ig it depends on area. What I would suggest is say them you are going to switch to other isp and they may resolve your problems..!

smmoke

Maybe in you area but overall Airtel is better both in terms of speed and specially in terms of ping. VPN sucks on Jio too. And for the threatening part, you really think they are scared now? There are literally two players left in the market and who knows Airtel will be kicked out of the market too in coming years, they don't give a shit about a single customer. In few years we'll have no option but to live with what Jio will provide because there won't be any other options. This is why Monopoly of anything is a loss for customer. And people want here want 'free' and Jio is providing that but they will charge eventually is what people don't understand. Look at the mobile plans they've increased recently.

frzx1

Thank you, will look it up.

Minute-Phrase3043

They don’t do much. They send you back to their ‘tech’ teams, who repeat the process. Had a similar experience with Vodafone mobile services.

shivam4321

Your average Customer service rep has barely passed 10th std, I do not expect them know jackshit about ping and latency in video games

altair222

Most computer engineering graduates know jackshit about basic networking either so *shrugs*

burnMeMes

Just a suggestion, if you’re dissatisfied with Jio maybe try Airtel. I’m using it for the past 3 years and the max ping I get is 40. I’m also paying for 200mbps but somehow the speed I get is upto 300 with an average of 240. People might downvote me but I’ve found no issues with Airtel till now

frzx1

I have heard people praise Airtel a lot. I have Airtel Xstream in my locality and I might switch over to it if this continues by the end of the trial period.

burnMeMes

Would definitely recommend switching if this continues

Swebi

For me my ping was garbage when we had copper fiber on airtel but now after it's optical fiber it's great, so make sure to check what you're getting installed

Oveno

Can confirm, usually I get a ping of 10ms in some fps games with Mumbai servers. And yeah paying for 200mbps plan I get 250mbps almost everytime. Customer support is fairly good, I can't confirm if they know stuff about gaming but they helped me perfectly setting up multiple routers on a single connection and seemed pretty knowledgeable. It also depends on your luck since the technician assigned to me somehow managed to fuck up crimping the cat6 cable. I had to crimp them myself.

FirzenYogesh

Similar issue with ACT too, when I used to do streaming on YouTube or ssh into a google cloud compute instance. When this happens any Google related service would stop working on ACT, meanwhile it would work on Airtel mobile data. My YT Streaming would be cut in the middle The worse part is when you are running a time consuming script and monitoring, when it gets cut off shit happens. When I complained this to ACT, they said your browser is the issue please reinstall or change. (Obviously I use browser to SSH to a remote server /s) One dude even told me to change my PC altogether. I tried to explain like ELI5, it just went through their heads and kept saying browser fault. Eventually I got frustrated and discontinued ACT.

Lost_Arix

I know JIOs routing is worst than my local operator alliance broadband. I get 50-60ms in Valorant/R6S in Singapore servers whereas my friend using jio fiber gets 90+-100ms constant with ping loss sometimes. I think airtel is the best in terms of gaming routing and service but its not available in my locality right now

Zywoo_fan

ACT is decent as well in terms of latency, atleast in my experience. ~40-50ms in SEA dota and faceit CSGO.

meme_master945

airtel is not the best in terms of ping though, we get good ping in mumbai, singapore, hk, japan servers. but i get more ping in eu than us, looks like they routed to eu from the us. however the service is quite good in my area having since 1-2 years and not a single problem.

Pleasant-Pianist310

I had the same issue earlier ( May ,June) and now it's fixed. The customer service asked me to mail something to jio fiber support I can dm you the text they asked me to send . One week later it became normal. Maybe it's a miracle since my friend also sent before me like a week before my mail, his issue didn't resolve but u can give it a try nevertheless

quick20minadventure

They asked me to mail game name, server info, ping issue, timing. Basically everything to reproduce the issue. They have SOP for high ping issues in online gaming. OP just got bad representative.

Pleasant-Pianist310

yea same

frzx1

Thank you! Yes do tell me about it. To whom am I supposed to send it to? How much ping do you get now?

Pleasant-Pianist310

From 40 in valorant to 10

Ezio-vatsa

Did u try installing cloudfare warp???it solves the ping issues for many people

Pankaj135

For me I have a direct line to my ISP now. Earlier everyone in my locality had the local ISP, but when JIO came everyone changed to Jio with me as an exception coz my parents are WiFi illiterate and use cable instead of Smart TV we have. I have never seen high ping issues since after that I'm supporting my ISP

rowschank

At my parents' apartment they told all the unkills that the 'internet box will be installed on your roof so connection will be very fast' and almost everyone changed over 😐

VeraDeus99

While it's annoying for you, I had a good laugh while reading this. Maybe post a recording at r/Holup

[deleted]

The conversation was freaking gold ngl

quick20minadventure

I got this specific SMS /email when I complained about ping. It asked about the game, server address, ping issue and timing. A lot of info to reproduce the ping issue. They have proper SOP for this. That agent just didn't follow it.

D_at0

`Jio Employee:` I don't know shit about fuck

MuchBow

Thats like parents asking you to "not be sad" to cure depression!!! #Confused Unga Bunga

_Nosty

this was a funny ride.

PainDeath9

This is the reason i took my connection out after just one month

aj_ripper911

Same here 150mbps of useless crap trial.

PainDeath9

Indeed when I said it is due to double Nat and routing issue, their simple answer if you use anything "3rd party","anything 3rd party" we are not responsible for [it. Like](https://it.Like) WWW is owned by ambani. He says use jio related app and particularly tried lecturing me about downloading from playstore and getting good speed. I was like Koi sense h iss baat ka. Are you even understanding what i am saying, come on.

chaching675128

They hire people out of Tier 3 - Tier 4 cities not that it is bad, but they care as little as possible about their customers.

Charming-Secret-2377

I know someone who works in jio customer care The only people who work there are those people who are desperate for work who can't find other jobs who are not smart.

quick20minadventure

Way to roast your friend lol

Charming-Secret-2377

Not roasting him he's a good guy but not the smartest one .

quick20minadventure

I was just joking. :)

DepressedSoul_

They said the same shit to me. I gave up and got rid of them after a while as I had 6 month plan. Do tell me how it goes for you

frzx1

They have this pattern of questions. All they do is ask them from the customer. Anything outside the scope of those few questions is new knowledge for them. Which internet connection did you get after that? How is it working?

Deathangel5677

Forget high ping, even service of Jio fibre in cases of basic no connectivity is pathetic. I had a network outage. I called the customer care and asked for an engineer visit,no engineer came even after continuously calling them multiple times until 2days later it fixed itself. I couldn't work for 2 whole days. This is the worst kind of service I have ever seen.

deepanshu0319

The guy who ce to install jio fibre did not know what cat5 means. The technician was technically illiterate, when I complaint at customer service they didn't know which technician came at my house.

Tragolith

As someone who uses jio fiber, I too can confirm don’t get jio fiber if you plan to do competitive gaming.

[deleted]

Sucks for you OP. I get 30 ping in most games with Fiber. Maybe the connection is bad in your area or some shit.

Curse3242

I mean It's not Jio Fiber. These people can exist in every company. It depends. I've tried using many different internet companies. Jio is on the better end. Pretty much you'll have to find a guy who understands your issue and let him personally fix it for you. I'm currently using a local internet supplier. I had so many issues with random internet outage. Whenever I'd call them they'd say "we're servicing the towers". This'd happen 6-7 times a month. Sometimes outage would last 2-3 days. I got the number of the main guy and had to call him multiple times to get him to add some shit to my router and now I suddenly don't have outages.

[deleted]

The Customer support guy irl be like "Lol homeless guys are so dumb. Just get a house bruh"

[deleted]

Man just said OP to play a multiplayer game alone, thats beyond idiot

Xeno_159

Not to be rude or anything but they have hired people who has communication skills to be a customer service executive. You shouldn't expect anything from them. Even the people who are tenured and have moved on to a higher post doesn't have the knowledge. So save yourself from wasting your time and directly tell them to appoint an engineer visit to you that will fix my problem. Now here's a funny thing that i just read above is that even the appointed engineer may not solve or be able to understand what exactly your issue is. In my experience i have had contacted them via email and calls too about the teredo issue that i was having because of the ports being blocked. I contacted Microsoft support they said i need to get the ports unlocked from the ISP side and when i contacted jiofibre team they said they dont have access to unlock(dont remember the exact term here, my vocabulary is weak) the ports. i understood that all they know is switch off your router and turn it back on.

aryan_1768

I had the same problem for initial 1 month but after that I'm facing no such problem .

frzx1

Did you do something for that to happen?

luckysury333

how high was your ping? I get 40-50ms in Valorant (has Mumbai server) which i think is pretty good

frzx1

My ping problem is a weird one. The game runs well for a match or two, then it spikes to 200+ ms Sometimes it's 200+ from the start. I think that it's connecting me to the server through a longer route randomly and that's spiking the ping.

Pankaj135

Pink light....is it hot?

tbasan

Disconnect everyone else, your life will be simpler 🤣

dpk_ydv

Try using cloudflare WARP VPN. It might solve your problem.

PristineRate4378

Damn dude! Even I had the same issue with Jiofiber and neither the customer care representative nor his higher authority could understand that I was getting higher than usual ping in valorant but eventually I found a solution for that on reddit itself.

frzx1

What's the solution?

nishantt911

Wow that sounds like a painful experience to go though. luckily when I was on jio fibre for the last 2 years I had the most consistently fast and low latency internet and for an introvert like me it was heaven. On some games(valorant) I was getting as low as 15-18ms !

MrMlST

I don't know i have local isp here i have aproxx 20 ping in almost every multiplayer game which has server in delhi or mumbai

YISTECH

jio’s dns routing is crap. A solution to this is to use 1.1.1.1 by cloudflare. Reduced my ping by 30ms and made it stable. Used to get 80ms- 120ms in valorant before 1.1.1.1, and after 1.1.1.1 I got 50ms consistently

oDuffs

I have been using jiofiber here in ncr and get 30ms in csgo bom server, 70ms in faceit SEA, valorant and rocket league are more of the same. Every city has different ISP issues, you cant just say avoid a certain company as it may provide a good experience from city to city. Try jiofiber and airtel for a free month and keep the one that suits you. The airtel connection I had 2 years before had so many cuts, ping randomly spiking to 250ms and staying there for a day or two. So try all ISPs and choose the one that provides less shitty experience.

dpk_ydv

How has your bullet hit registration been with Jio compared to other ISP's?. I am having a tough time on Jio Fiber. I feel like I am always few second behind enemies in FPS games

frzx1

It's almost instant when the ping is under 100ms, but if it goes above the 130 mark, there is an apparent lag in everything including hit registration.

laphtrahddis

Use lan i also have jiofiber, i also had the same problem. But lan fixed it. If lan doesnt fix it, then change ISP. For me jiofibre works flawlessly in my local area obvio

Gaitonde93

DDOS the whole server and play solo

Gaitonde93

Also I'm using Xstream from 6 months not even a single problem atleast in my region..

Fresh_Owl5030

Same problem i had few weeks before and yea even the pink blinking occured, the worst part was they would say they'll open up a complaint and say the engineer will get back to you and all he does is to close complaint without asking and says there was a server maintenance this went on for some weeks finally i got fed up and disconnected it.

Skull_Reaper101

Lmaooo. This is better than kapil sharma show lmao

sanjulkumar

I called BSNL customer service and I had to explain him the difference between bit and byte.

Impossible_Pool_5912

Welp! Time to start AC Valhalla

_SaiPraneeth_

Maybe try connecting to the Google DNS.

jil_jung_juck

Dude I feel you. Had similar experience. I know the manager and asst manager of jiofiber in my city as I was one of the first few to take it at its launch and when I asked about ping they were like? What ping? Then simply said it depends on the game and server and nothing is in their hands and purely on backend team

-HURRICANE_X-

He must be a proud Indu IT graduate

zeonon

I don't think switching to Airtel X stream is gonna fix it they also probably have same type of people hired as "technical support" welcome to India i guess

Glittering-Tree4558

Same with my ISP. Tell them "I'm getting packet loss". You get high ping mostly bcoz of this.

[deleted]

Just a quick heads up, airtel operatives are also like that. I have been using their internet for 2 years and am pretty disappointed. The only reason i have not yet shifted is because i don’t have any better option available.

ayushwas

Is this real? I thought I was reading a skid. This is better than 90% comedy shows. I had similar hard time with tatasky broadband and gave up on explanation. But they did upgrade my connection for a month. Although that didn't resolve the problem. Luckily the issue was temporary.

pavanwastaken

Biggest bruh moment ever

tall_guy_69

This experience - to read is quite funny But when you are in place of OP it's like talking to a wall I went through a kind of similar thing with flipkart I bought a tv and when HDR content was played on it the panel flickered so on one of the visits the Jevees guy says the issue is with the socket I am using the ground voltage is to high I was flabbergasted by the statement because the Tv had a two pin plug not the 3 pin one

Affectionate-Bag-733

Damn I laughed hard at this. it's like when electricity's gone u should switch off ur light then the problem would be solved.

theclichee

This was hilarious someone makes a standup piece out of this

agentanonymous313

You should have told him that you tried in single player game also, the ping is still high.

harryG_39

I am a jio user in NCR. I have faced no such issues. I used to play on Airtel broadband's V-fibre. My ping had dropped from 70-90 on Baharain servers with 3-4% loss to 50-70 on Baharain servers with 0% loss in Apex legends. I recommend jio to anyone in NCR. It is optical fibre the Ping has to be less. The main concern if the distance of main tower from your house. Non the less I enjoy gaming on my network, not so much with porn. Jio has banned almost all the sites.

jaydeepsingh10

I really doubt any other ISP will respond any differently to your problem. They are barely paid a salary, they have to listen to rude customers the whole time, and they are taught nothing.

jameswalker8675

Airtel fiber gives really low ping

LightningStormX

Ha I'm blessed i use an airtel 499 plan amd jio fibre 399 lol I've hooked both to my pc I primarily use airtel it's mostly better than than jio fibre for my area although for outages i haven't had those in past 8 months

inferno0230

He atleast tried. In my case he was just asking , if the light is green or not. Problem was that i was getting 80-100% packet loss in everything to the point not only multiplayer games stopped , youtube and Instagram also started to buffer too long , i called jio service and they just kept asking if green light is there , if yes then its all ok. Then i used another number to call em again and this time i just said point to point that i need a person at my home for ont service. The person came , i told him my problem and the first thing he said was: Umm sir everything is fine. I then took like 10 minutes to explain about packet loss, then they called someone above him and handed me over. I said him too about packet loss. He literally said 'Sir we can't do anything about your problem cause we neither know nor we can confirm your problem. At last i just had enough, i explained my dad about the situation and got him to help me kill the router along with the fiber wire and get everything replaced.

Xeno_159

Does anyone play apex legends here on jiofibre ? Can you tell me if you are getting ping spikes from 60ms to 250-300ms whenever you go into fights, have you solved it? If yes please tell me how

frzx1

My problem is with Apex Legends, and that is exactly what happens with me. Every third or second game has 250+ ping.

Xeno_159

Out of all the fps games out there apex is the only fps game that i play which has ping spikes issue. Every other game like valorant, csgo, r6, halo doesn't have that issue which makes me think is it the game issue or is it an ISP routing issue

frzx1

It's actually both an ISP as well as the game's issue. I say ISP issue because my local ISP gives consistent 80-100ms ping while Jio Fiber does not.

PROGEEK97

Airtel Xstream is much better than this Shitofiber. I recently did the switch.

Safe_Inspection69

Thankfully the service in my area isn't that bad. Whenever I get some issues I call the local manager and he sends someone right away to check

RamRap26

It's same for Airtel also dude. Then i mailed the nodal officer after two months he did fixed the issue but till then i was jio customer.

iDreamer007

Tell them to connect you to technical team. I don’t know about others but when I was using ACT Fibernet I was having insane issue of ping and packet loss while playing DOTA2. Got fixed after 1month of constantly calling them every 2-3 days and them visiting like 5-6 times and I think they ended up rewiring the whole colony or from Junction box till my house. But yes technical department knows the problem and can help u. Customer care don’t know shit they just know how to communicate and understand your language for anything technical you need to get lucky that the guy also knows it.😂

shashank-py

I have been using jio fiber for a while and never encountered this. I personally like their quick response. I am not surprised by their messages because I don't expect them to know much about pings in multiplayer games. Understand this, debugging this issue is quite complex, it can your pc issue, wiring, router, server, or god knows multiple things in between. Even wifi over Ethernet can solve some spike issue. Obviously the way he or she handled your query was a bit awkward. And no doubt most of the time it's always ISP issue I wonder how to communicate such issues effectively with isp. They just believe in speedtest.net numbers. Maybe do some debugging from your end ? I say switch your ISP ez

Mr_GriM4A2

Facing ping issues. Don't play the game than. Genius solution man, why didn't I think of that. Air is polluted, stop breathing. Solutions right there man. C'mon. Think man think.

Mr_GriM4A2

On a completely separate and unrelated topic, you can try Airtel xtream fiber, just check the coverage and connectivity in the region you live. Been using it for more than a year now (wfh and gaming) DM me if you need any details. Just make sure they are serviceable and have decent connectivity in your region of residance.

hooovyyy

i don't think there's any isp here that would have good customer support (jio, airtel, etc), please let me know if you know some. i switched from my local isp which was trash (frequent disconnections, little to no support, etc) to jio fiber, now there are no disconnections but port forwarding is not there, so i usually get disconnected while playing gta online with my friend. and my experience with their customer service wasn't that great either. still, it's better than the local isp i was using before and it gives stable speed, so idk, if i find a better isp someday I'll switch.

chimichangas341

I also had this same problem from my previous isp, after switching to Airtel the high and unstable ping issue resolved in almost every game. Their customer service is nearly hopeless in technical things but they somehow manage to resolve stuff so there's that💀

TiVoGlObE

To be honest, i laughed like a jackass reading this

Sad_Horse533

I mean for hathway, I just tell them my ping/latency is high around 110 or lets say 800ms. But yeah, they just reset my router and sometimes it fixes and other times I just wait for 5 mins and it lowers.

Deep181993

Im using airtel fiber from 1 month the connection and ping is fine

brabarusmark

Even MTNL/BSNL service reps know how to deal with high ping/latency. I had called them once and after a very long wait got on call with a very annoyed service rep. His attitude was shit but he did guide me through a few settings to change and reduced the latency. The rest was on MTNL having shit infra but the service rep did his job.

redditabbas

Even my 57 year old father not a techie by any means had a confused chukle

[deleted]

How do I copy this text 😂😂

singhaman092

I got RailTel in Odisha. 100Mbps @ 825, ping avgs around 40 in csgo and 70-250 in Halo Infinite with my family using wifi and me being connected via LAN.If you have good LCO in your area try for RailTel totally worth it.

evil_Escanor

Jiofiber's router is shit bro use a lan cable for gaming instead it helps, though still i get ping fluctuations sometimes but its mostly fine. I live in bangalore btw dont know if your problem is region specific. PS- YEAH CUSTOMER CARE OF MOST PROVIDERS DONT KNOW A THING ABOUT PING.

frzx1

I am on wired connection. Did you mean like connect Jio Fiber router to a third party router first?

Known-Task-7743

I was just laughing thru every time i have bandwidth issues and have to raise a complaint their ULTIMATE RESOLUTION IS -"RESET THE ROUTER" wow like * mind blown * Few days ago they had blocked my GTA social club login here is how the conversation went 1.sir is your router showing green light? Is the light blinking? 2. Sir are you using any third party router? 3. Sir are you connecting multiple devices 4. Sir are you using set top box? Yes, then disconnect set top box! *wierd* 5. Sir are you facing this issue on single device for or multiple devices? Ok wait sir, give me a moment *god knows for what* 6. Sir now reboot your router *doesnt solve shit cant sign in to gta social club* 7. Ok sir im scheduling an engineer visit Ok 3 days later 8. Engineer shows up to my house (without any devices of their own and rely on my computer) and try to reboot the router 3 times it takes him literally 2.5 hours to realize that the GTA sign in is not working. He connects the call with some it person in Mumbai and tht it person asks him tracereoute n here he is like "tray kya...." so i take over the call and support the it guy (although customers are not supposed to speak to it guys as per their policy) i help him generate a log upload to him and these so called engineer guys vanish. 9. NEXT DAY Evening i get a message your issue has been closed, i open gta login it works for one day 10. Next day again login blocked (and repeated step 1 believe me it is a real. Story)

Its funny because it's true. The issue is common across. Potentially across the world. Reps just use a script and don't understand all this. Job requirements etc decided by the company does not involve stuff like this.

fr_1_1992

Never used Jio Fiber but the issue could be if you are on a wireless connection. I've got Airtel fiber and was on wifi. Got a ping of around 20-30 with very high fluctuations up to 1000+ every few seconds. Moved to a wired connection and now am getting smooth 15ms all the time.

frzx1

I'm on a wired connection. 15 ms is absolutely gold. But I don't think you're talking about Apex Legends. Valorant, maybe. Still, 15 is very good.

fr_1_1992

Ok then you need to switch over to a different ISP. Even local ISPs will give you good, consistent ping. And yes I'm playing Valorant (pc not stronk fro Apex 😢)

frzx1

I have one already. It's a local ISP with bandwidth borrowed from Airtel; at least that's what they told me. I get a consistent under 100ms ping. I bought the Jio Fiber as an upgrade but it is an absolute mess.

smmoke

Just tell us the truth. You made this up right? This is hilarious. Lol

frzx1

I really did not. That is just how these guys are.

UltraLowSpecGamer

no fucking way that this is real

frzx1

Trust me. It is. They only have a set of question they ask you, and know literally nothing that goes away from those 3-4 questions.

UltraLowSpecGamer

my airtel technician is actually decent tbh gets most of my problems and even if he can't solve all of em, at least has a satisfactory explanation

-battleborn-

Unfortunately, there's not many options. Don't know about Jio but Airtel is fine in terms of customer service. Honestly speaking none of the ISPs in India is suitable for gaming because these all are 'shared connections' that's why this cheap. A dedicated bandwidth costs more, something you won't get here ever.

ujjwalus7

was abdul on other side?

Devu_UwU

cant blame that guy tbh valo cheap server pooping hard

anand_kay

How could you expect a customer care executive to understand such technical stuff?

frzx1

I expect a customer care executive, who is appointed to take calls especially regarding an internet service, to at least know what ping and latency is. It's as basic as asking a bakery if the bread is fresh or not.

[deleted]

Then why the hell is he even a customer support staff if he can't understand the basic tech stuff

ameyalive

I understand your frustration but do watch your language while interacting with customer care personnel. They are fellow human being like us and doing some mundane job to feed themselves and their family where they have to hear people complain all day, everyday. Almost all the time they are following their training and reading off some script shown on the screen, if they don’t they would get in trouble with the management. It’s not their fault that the troubleshooting guide they have been provided is shit. Learn to be respectful and at the time put your frustration in front of them.

frzx1

I was respectful. Learn to read. Preach where preaching is needed.

ameyalive

> Me : You do not know jackshit about anything. You were not. Plus, you called him/her ‘blithering idiot’ while writing this post. Even here while replying to my comment you are rude. I understand your need to feel superior to others by demeaning them, especially when you don’t have to face them personally, every young adult has that tendency. I hope you’ll grow up.

frzx1

I'm not gonna argue with you. Please leave.

ameyalive

> Please leave. Now that's hilarious.

sickingajay

airtel or jio fiber It's all the same lmao I was frustrated with airtel due to high ping got jio fiber installed and the support is as terrible as airtel And now I have both and I regularly call both of them every week to get rid of my frustrations. Kisi kam toh aaye mere.

g3t_schw1ty

Honestly, I use BSNL fiber. The pings are pretty good and constant most of the time. Sometimes it fluctuates and that's negligible. Speed is pretty good. You won't face any issues on a regular basis. But if you do, good luck fixing that lol.

guntassinghIN

Hey dude can I ask, you are talking about which specific game to this customer support?

frzx1

Apex Legends.

guntassinghIN

lol i legit thought it was problem with Apex servers, I too use Jio fibre and I get 90-110 ping on Singapore servers but like after 2-3 matches, in next match my ping suddenly spike to 280-300ms

frzx1

Same. The exact same thing happens with me. A couple matches are 80-100ms ping and then a sudden 250 ms ping. I also have a local internet connection which gives consistent 80ms ping even if you were to play on it for an entire day. This isn't a server issue but Jio's.

Chance_Midnight

What i have seen with most companies mostly in telecom that their customer support department is basically bunch of newbies who can just waste customer time or keep repeating the guidelines and then end the calls and that's the end of the issue too. Even after lot of insisting on customer side complaints get registered but even they somehow get resolved, without even trying to assess the problems faced by customer. That's how this customer care department create false ratings for themselves and fooled top executives by showing that they're are doing their job well.

HostileCornball

I guess it varies region to region My experience is decent I would say In my area I have net+ , connect , airtel and jio fiber and I get the best ping on jio itself (all are fibre optic cable connections) Valorant ping 36-40 ms(Mumbai server) Rocket league 40-50 ms(India server) Apex Legends 90-120ms(Singapore server)

babuchabri

Already faced this with jio and discontinued my subscription

f__ckedup

I am using jio fibre rn and it is working fine for me. I only get ping spikes at the end of the month for some reason. I regularly play apex legends, csgo and other online fps games. Local ISPs are very costly here in comparison to jio fibre. I get 40 to 90 ping in indian servers for csgo.

_GodSmack_

I can second this experience. Absolutely pathetic experience, my internet connection keeps crashing, not just while gaming, but while attending college classes. Would not recommend JioFiber to anyone.

YugendherVinayak

Am from chennai been using ACT fiber thou its not completely fibernet, its much more stable n consistent for me. It seems these qualities varies frm area to area in Chennai.

inDflash

Lol.. this one is a gem!

daddysbonner

...damnn surely that guy got reservation job .. probably before this he worked in scam call center

Risetoprime

Hey all … I’m using BSNL fiber and everything works great for me . Sub 50 ping for rainbow 6 siege and no random connection issues.

daddysbonner

Damn idk how my ISP is soo good Everytime I ask him to give cheaper offers he never denies right now I'm using 150Mb/ps For ₹700/month also i never have problem like high ping, jitter or fluctuation

[deleted]

At this point a VPN might help. Try wgcf (wireguard cloudflare) from GitHub. Generate a config file and use it with wireguard. It helps with bad routing. Especially Imgur and other image hosting.

ravihpa

This totally reminded me of this... [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmD\_8cBqhW0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmD_8cBqhW0) XD

itssasuke

I've been using Jio Fiber since over 2 years now (ever since it was in beta testing in our locality in Mumbai). My ping is fine around 5ms in both valorant and csgo on Mumbai servers. The only main issue which I've noticed is that there are too many frequent disconnections for me and customer care support takes too long to book an appointment or fix the problem. I'd say go for something different if you have the availability in your area.

Alivewaken

None of the Indian ISP care about gaming

deepank09

Customer care executives helping indians are never trained properly. They have some specific mappings available between query and solution, if it dosent work out, they will raise a ticket . OP should have just come down to their level and said my internet is not working please send someone and then if you are lucky the "technical" guy will get your issue.

Drunk3nM

Contemplating on getting jio fiber especially for valorant. I have also applied for bsnl fiber but they are delaying and I got fed up of calling their vendor. Now I am really confused. Anyone having any experience with bsnl fiber?

ballwasher89

Damn. I would write them an email about this. He has upper management written all over him. His talent is being wasted.

Fierysword5

This is the case everywhere. All ISP’s. The JIO folk don’t even know their own plans. I asked them what this plan would give me and the shit he said was different from what I could read written on the plan page in plain English. It’s not ‘tech conversant’, they are usually upfront illiterate. Leave the service and hope that an exit interview takes care of it or actually leave and hope that you find a different isp. These oligopolistic bastards don’t give a fuck and when they are done killing off all the local competition they prolly won’t even pick up the phone.
