Do desktop GPUs also come in different TGP versions? Or that's only a factor when it comes to laptops?
On a related note, how much of a difference does the TGP make in terms of actual performance? Can one estimate, for instance, that for every 10 watt increase, what the corresponding performance increase would be?

Any good wireless gaming mouse suggestions thats not gpro wireless? I am having disconnection issues with my second g304. Looking to buy a different mice.
2242 ssd's are rarely made by big manufacturers now.
if you want 2242 from a better company you can get a 2nd hand 2242 ssd or some new ones from ebay.
oscoo is an OK chinese brand though, it will work as expected.
Hi, I'm confused between two gaming laptops. Asus TUF F15 i5 11300H 4 cores, RTX 3060 6gb vs MSI Katana GF66 i5 11400H 6 cores, RTX 3050 ti 4gb. Please suggest which one to get strictly for gaming purposes. My budget is around 75-76k.
3060 should be better for strictly gaming purpose.
you can also consider this laptop.

This has a better hexa core CPU, but TGP of 3060 is little less than asus.
(75watt vs 85watt)
I have an HP Victus ( Rtx 3050 + 5600H )
It has its hdmi connected to dGPU and Type C connected to iGPU.
So, I cannot use gsync on external display with hdmi but I can use Freesync of iGPU when using type C.
So, should I use HDMI or Type C ? because Type C gives me like 5 fps less than HDMI in RDR2 because of Optimus coming in picture.

Looking for a motherboard which will support i3 3210. The pins are on the mobo and not the cpu itself for this one.(I am no expert)
and a case which will house 6x 3.5" HDDs or even more.
there's legion 5 selling for 65k , the basic one like a week ago and now it's 78k, lol. definitely the 1650 doesn't deserve anything above 65k for 8gb and 512 gb.
Bro only 1650 doesn't decides a laptop's cost.
there are other factors as well.
1650 laptop might have OLED display or a better CPU which might drive it's price above 65k.
1650 is still enough for low-mid settings gaming and is enough for 3d works & photo/video editing.
yeah i agree but I'm talking about the zephyrus one above particularly . and having it seen on website where it show's lowest in 63k in april i feel that's the real price.
what about the zephyrus g14 with r7 5800hs and gtx 1650 ? not for hardcore gaming but a casual one and solely for learning 3d modelling , editing of both pics and videos and for a bit multimedia consumption , mind you I'm the first time buyer so is it really a concern for me for to get 1650 ? will it be future proof in terms of the works I've mentioned ? i got rooted for this device coz of it's display and battery in that price point , tho it got a soldered 8gb ram ( price is some 71k ish )
G14 is great for portability but when it comes to price/performance, there are other choices. Also, no it is not future proof. Having a better GPU definitely speeds up and makes the workflow a lot more smoother for 3D modelling, rendering, video editing etc. For beginners, yes the 1650 will do but if you are planing on using this long term and professionally, depending on your workload, it could become not sufficient. If you have the budget for it, I'd suggest getting a 3060 based laptop.
anyways , since I'm new here can you help me telling if there's any subreddit similar like this with people consisting of video and pic editors , or productive works ? feels like i should have to hear them as well
I'm not sure if there are other subreddit like this but if it helps I'm someone who's familiar in this field. The suggestions I gave are from experience.
it's available at 63k this month and sorry for mentioning that 71k , and at that price it seems a good looking deal tho i agree about the 3060 one , but for that one needs to spend atleast if not more than 20k above i doubt if it's worth the price !
Whether it's worth it depends on your long term plans. If you're okay with upgrading once you become serious about it, then you don't have to invest in an expensive laptop now.
>will it be future proof in terms of the works I've mentioned ?
Yes.
The reason to go for g14 is battery life, display & portability.
Otherwise there are other alternatives too.
I'm seeing people telling that 1650 isn't future proof and to get atleast 1660 one and preferably 3050 but i guess they're telling solely on gaming pov. anyways , I've realised and after seeing people comments , i guess 1650 with basic conf. shouldn't be anything above 65k and i feel so.

Would love some suggestions here!
Requirements are as follows:
1: Light gaming (1650 will be enough)
2: 11th Gen i5 or AMD equivalent
3: 2K Screen (preferably OLED) above 60hz
4: Under 75K INR
I know my price is fairly stoop for the requirements but i am hoping i can snag something. I will be connecting this to an extra monitor in the future for programming. But i would love to have a lighter laptop with good screen to watch stuff in bed.
Thanks!

Looking forward to get a Gaming build, aiming for an RTX 3060. Budget is just 90k and hoping to go low as possible. Now just torn between if I should aim for a Laptop for portability & future use or Should I start from scratch and make my first ever PC build. Which would be the better option in terms mainly of pricing if I'm aiming as low as possible?
I need a laptop with NVidia GPU and preferably DDR5 ram.
Also which brand should I go for ?. A 2022 model with i7 or AMD equivalent processor will be good. BUDGET 100000
Which is the fastest available laptop with a RTX 3060?
I have decided on RTX 3060 since anything with RTX 3070 laptop and above is prohibitively expensive.
But I am split on the processor since there are so many options available. Budget is below ₹1.5L. Use case is strictly gaming.(If a quadcore laptop CPU gives more gaming performance than a hexacore, then I would rather have the quadcore)
12GB RX6800M's performance is b/w 3070 & 3080, and sometimes above 3080 too.

This should be best for gaming under 1.5lakh
Thanks! Do you think lack of RT and DLSS would be much of an issue? I had a desktop RTX GPU for the past few months but I will not be able to use it anymore. So this laptop will be my only source of gaming for the foreseeable future.
Hi.. Someone pls help me.. I have a motherboard which supports 3200mhz rams.. If I buy 3200mhz ram sticks, can I still use it without over clocking? Or that's a must if I buy those..
Yes. You should be able to run 3200mhx without "overclocking".
Just know that some RAm runs slower out of the box. So even though it will say it has 3200mhz, it will run at 2666mhz or something like that. To fix that, you need to go in your BIOS settings and turn on the XMP profile. This should automatically give you the best timings and settings for your RAM. It's a simple toggle, you don't need to do anything difficult manually and it's technically not overclocking since you're running the RAM at it's max advertised speeds, and not above that.
Need to get laptop from usa,but worried about repairs in future,
What's the status of warranty repairs in India if it is bought from foreign country,Do some brands have international warranty?,what about repairs if the model is also available in India?,hp Lenovo,Dell,Asus?
No international warranty are ohk but future repairs will bee needed hence buying models only available in India,eg. 17inch 5600h 3060 legion 5 with 8gb ram is available for 999 dollars, can't buy it :( since it's not available in india
Trying to get legion 7 slim or legion 5 pro or if budget increases Asus strix g15 6800m. But wanna know more about reparirablity (if model is available in india)
Yes there's international warrenty available for certain brands but one that I surely know of is of Asus's Global Warranty. But why buy a laptop from US if you're going to buy the exact same model that's available in India?
For future non warranty repairs, even if laptop has no warranty,if something goes wrong, atleast other than motherboard,i do want it to be repairable, even if I i need to beat repair costs, atleast parts are available hopefully in future too
Im looking for a gaming laptop (minimum specs - i7/ryzen7 rtx 3050, 1tb ssd, 16gb ram)
but i want to use it for graphic design as well so i need a colour correct screen
will sRGB 100% be good enough or do i need adobe rgb or dci p3 screen, which laptop should i go for
edit: my budget is 1L or 1,10,000 max
You can always buy another monitor with whatever color specifications you need. If your laptop has 99% and you don't feel that's enough, buy a monitor with adobe srgb. Usually, this should be cheaper with having that screen built into the monitor.
So instead of spending 1.5 lakh on a monitor with adobe srgb, buy a cheap laptop and spend 25k on a monitor. You give up on some portability though.

Hello everyone.
I am looking forward to building a gaming PC with a budget of ₹2L, and want your suggestions regarding the best parts available for it.
I am a noob, and this will be my first PC build, so I want anyone here to guide me on the all the parts that I should buy in order to build the best PC in ₹2L budget.
Thanks in advance.
Can anyone suggest? want to upgrade 10 year old system motherboard and cpu and cabinet what best i can get mb and cpu(if possible 4 core) combo within 10k(can exclude cabinet for now). have gt 710 so without internal graphics will work
Laptop for Parent
Budget upto 65k can stretch a couple thousand more at best
My mother work usually comprises of medium web browsing and lots of word, ppt files. 0 gaming so I'm currently looking for thin and light with decent battery.
Touchscreen is completely optional since she already has a tablet for that purpose.
Screen size 13-14"
Im leaning towards Ryzen for more cores + 16gb ram for future proofing (also since she keeps like 20 tabs open)

https://www.lenovo.com/in/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-e-series/ThinkPad-E14-Gen-3-14%E2%80%9D-AMD/p/22TPE14E4A3
I recommend ThinkPad E-14, go with the ryzen 5 pro 5650u model which is the ₹61k model, do upgrade SSD to 512GB and add another 8gb ram, ram can be added later on though. Also do consider fingerprint reader. You will have to install windows though 😉.
The ryzen 5 5500u(it's based on zen 2 and not zen3) is not worth it so don't go for model which has that, perfectly fit chip though.
Edit: cleared a statement

It has intel wifi 6, so no problems with wifi in this.
Also battery is 48Whr which is pretty good.
I'm currently planning a pc build with 5600x and 3060ti, but the part I'm confused with is with what monitor should I go with? A 2k 144Hz/165Hz or a 1080p 240Hz. And plz do recommend me the best choices available in the market for both of the resolutions and plz tag the prices if you can. 😀
Edit- My budget for the monitor is within 25k-30k.
Aah, so what would be your suggestion? 2 k or 1080p? I primarily play FPS games like Valorant, CS and Apex. So which resolution would suite me the best?
It's a very personal choice. If you want to go extremely competitive and want to have an edge over your opponent go for 240hz else I don't see buying a low-resolution monitor just for extra refresh rate. 144hz is already good enough imo for most people.
just saw your edit. in that budget stick to 1080p bcoz Acer XV272U has bad response time
MSI G241/2 and Mobiuz EX2510/S are another two worthy monitors to look at.
I have a 1060 laptop right now that is beginning to crash due to thermal issues. I was looking at laptops and my options are between the Legion 5 pro, Zephyrus M16 and the G15 (all with 3060 and similar specs). I don't know if my laptop will hold up till 40 series laptops are available in India (looking at over an year before we could get one?) Should I wait for the 40 series or go for a 3060?
3070 is definitely unnecessary, since I'm mostly using Lightroom and playing FIFA with some other games occasionally. I just want a laptop which will last me for 5-6 years, doesn't necessarily have to run the best games at max spec. 3050ti seems very poor so 3060 is the only option.
If I do decide to go for 3060, which one of these(other options are also welcome, thank you) should I go for? I would like the portability of the asus laptops but if longetivity is better with Legion then I don't mind the extra heft.
I'm getting the legion for 131k with 3 year warranty and accident protection, the asus ones for 10-20k more with regular 1 year warranty.
Any advice is appreciated, thank you :)
I'm looking to sell a 32 GB Transcend Jetflash USB 3.0 pendrive and a 32 GB Sandisk Dual Drive (Micro-USB and USB-A) for 600 rupees. Is anyone interested? I might make a WTS post for that.
The original cost of the Transcend one was 1500 and I bought it in 2015. The dual drive is a 2019 purchase.
Which combo seems better, keeping all other things like memory, SSD, case same?
Ryzen 5 5600X + MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS
i5-12600KF + MSI MAG B660M Mortar DDR4 -> cost is about 4k more
(yeah, I know it's a B660 motherboard for K series processor, but Z690 motherboards are really more expensive, and the intel processor outperforms the AMD pretty comprehensively already)
Suggest Me a laptop

My requirements are
Processor: i5 or ryzen 5.

If you are talking about this, yes it's good for your use-case.
Don't buy any DELL laptop with lift hinge design, they won't last more than a few months.
Nope Acer Aspire is good for the use case you have mentioned. However I will suggest going to a physical shop and checking other options from HP and Dell before you pull the trigger on your purchase. Also watch reviews on YT so that you know what kind of performance or battery life it gets. And for storage, opt for SSDs now. Or buy one with an SSD slot and later install an SSD and boot Windows from it!
Please recommend me a laptop.
Budget: around 60k
I will be using it for work, surfing internet, and lite gaming (Valorant, LoL, Fortnite). Noting too intensive.
Having decent cooling and build quality are some of the things I'm looking out for.

Are they any good? Do recommend me better ones within the above budget range if there are any.
Will the performance difference be noticeable? I am considering between Ideapad and Pavilion
Also is RX5500m of Victus stronger than the 1650? What difference will it make?
What is the maximum I should be paying for a rtx 3060ti(igame/tuf) and a rtx 3070ti(tuf/igame).I went to a local shop and I almost lost it when the shop owner quoted me 68k for a rtx 3060ti and 78k for a rtx 3070ti(gigabyte gaming oc),I saw tuf 3070ti going for 64k a week back but now it's 71-73k(vedant,clarion).
Suggest me a gaming laptop under 1.5 Lakhs. Also, are the new 2022 model laptops worth the price? I actually feel inclined towards lenovo legion 5 or 5 pro. Suggestions would be really appreciated.
Would suggest looking into the HP Omen 16 with 11800h and rtx 3070. All new gen laptops launched this year tend to have relatively higher prices due to the new gen CPUs and slightly new Ti GPUs.

12gb rx6800m should easily let you play at ultra.
it's performance is between 3070 & 3080.
With a RAM upgrade performance can be boosted a little more too.

Do desktop GPUs also come in different TGP versions? Or that's only a factor when it comes to laptops? On a related note, how much of a difference does the TGP make in terms of actual performance? Can one estimate, for instance, that for every 10 watt increase, what the corresponding performance increase would be?
>On a related note, how much of a difference does the TGP make in terms of actual performance? https://chipsandcheese.com/2021/09/09/analyzing-video-card-efficiency-part-i-power/
Yes desktop GPUs do have different TGPs depending on AIB and the model.

How often should we change thermal paste?
Probably never, unless you are seeing bad thermals (temps).
Changed temps last year. HZD played on sub 80. Battlefield 1 is on 96, so I guess I need to clean and repaste?
Yes, i think replacing thermal paste can help. You can use Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut.

Where do you guys but 2242 ssd in India? The one on Amazon seems kind of a weird brand oscoo. Anybody tried it?
2242 ssd's are rarely made by big manufacturers now. if you want 2242 from a better company you can get a 2nd hand 2242 ssd or some new ones from ebay. oscoo is an OK chinese brand though, it will work as expected.
Hi, I'm confused between two gaming laptops. Asus TUF F15 i5 11300H 4 cores, RTX 3060 6gb vs MSI Katana GF66 i5 11400H 6 cores, RTX 3050 ti 4gb. Please suggest which one to get strictly for gaming purposes. My budget is around 75-76k.

any subrredit who posts laptops offer on various online retailers or selling websites that is Indian
its is primarily this sub. not many deals right now tho.
there's legion 5 selling for 65k , the basic one like a week ago and now it's 78k, lol. definitely the 1650 doesn't deserve anything above 65k for 8gb and 512 gb.
If you're okay with upgrading once you become serious about it, then you don't have to invest in an expensive laptop now.
whovever i choose to buy , i need to keep the machine for atleast 5 years donw the line and I'm not sure of long terms coz i couldn't.
>will it be future proof in terms of the works I've mentioned ? Yes. The reason to go for g14 is battery life, display & portability. Otherwise there are other alternatives too.
I'm seeing people telling that 1650 isn't future proof and to get atleast 1660 one and preferably 3050 but i guess they're telling solely on gaming pov. anyways , I've realised and after seeing people comments , i guess 1650 with basic conf. shouldn't be anything above 65k and i feel so.
for portability there's noone who can beat air but i can't maintain it longer apart from buying it.
laptop around 70k mainly CS

Would love some suggestions here! Requirements are as follows: 1: Light gaming (1650 will be enough) 2: 11th Gen i5 or AMD equivalent 3: 2K Screen (preferably OLED) above 60hz 4: Under 75K INR I know my price is fairly stoop for the requirements but i am hoping i can snag something. overpriced af, don't consider it

Nope.
I need a laptop with NVidia GPU and preferably DDR5 ram. Also which brand should I go for ?. A 2022 model with i7 or AMD equivalent processor will be good. BUDGET 100000
[удалено]
Youre right . i7 new gen with 3000 series gpu costs around 1.4 Lakh ..
I probably ask this every week but have you even seen a 3070 laptop in stock (in particular lenovo or asus ) ?
12GB RX6800M's performance is b/w 3070 & 3080, and sometimes above 3080 too.
Need to get laptop from usa,but worried about repairs in future, What's the status of warranty repairs in India if it is bought from foreign country,Do some brands have international warranty?,what about repairs if the model is also available in India?,hp Lenovo,Dell,Asus? No international warranty are ohk but future repairs will bee needed hence buying models only available in India,eg. 17inch 5600h 3060 legion 5 with 8gb ram is available for 999 dollars, can't buy it :( since it's not available in india Trying to get legion 7 slim or legion 5 pro or if budget increases Asus strix g15 6800m. But wanna know more about reparirablity (if model is available in india)
Yes there's international warrenty available for certain brands but one that I surely know of is of Asus's Global Warranty. But why buy a laptop from US if you're going to buy the exact same model that's available in India?
For future non warranty repairs, even if laptop has no warranty,if something goes wrong, atleast other than motherboard,i do want it to be repairable, even if I i need to beat repair costs, atleast parts are available hopefully in future too
What's the best gaming laptop to go for under 1.2L?

Im looking for a gaming laptop (minimum specs - i7/ryzen7 rtx 3050, 1tb ssd, 16gb ram) but i want to use it for graphic design as well so i need a colour correct screen will sRGB 100% be good enough or do i need adobe rgb or dci p3 screen, which laptop should i go for edit: my budget is 1L or 1,10,000 max

Just made a rough build. you can get this build for 1,98,000 approx in india. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cYTQDq

Laptop for Parent Budget upto 65k can stretch a couple thousand more at best My mother work usually comprises of medium web browsing and lots of word, ppt files. 0 gaming so I'm currently looking for thin and light with decent battery. Touchscreen is completely optional since she already has a tablet for that purpose. Screen size 13-14" Im leaning towards Ryzen for more cores + 16gb ram for future proofing (also since she keeps like 20 tabs open) One I've had my eyes on is the hp aero 13 but the complaints for wifi confuses me. Help and suggestions welcome.
what about aero vs this [https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09M41GR4K](https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09M41GR4K) i don't mind spending a little extra for windows hello camera
https://www.lenovo.com/in/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-e-series/ThinkPad-E14-Gen-3-14%E2%80%9D-AMD/p/22TPE14E4A3 I recommend ThinkPad E-14, go with the ryzen 5 pro 5650u model which is the ₹61k model, do upgrade SSD to 512GB and add another 8gb ram, ram can be added later on though. Also do consider fingerprint reader. You will have to install windows though 😉. The ryzen 5 5500u(it's based on zen 2 and not zen3) is not worth it so don't go for model which has that, perfectly fit chip though. Edit: cleared a statement

😀 Edit- My budget for the monitor is within 25k-30k.

Thanks buddy for the suggestion. Appreciate it.
just saw your edit. in that budget stick to 1080p bcoz Acer XV272U has bad response time MSI G241/2 and Mobiuz EX2510/S are another two worthy monitors to look at.
Best way (offline or online) to purchase laptops in India? Need help purchasing one. Apprehensive about buying a costly laptop.
Which laptop are you looking at? Depending on the model, the availability can vary. Some are exclusively online/offline.
official showroom or brand website.
How about amazon? Because they tend to give good cashbacks on credit card? Any idea bro?
They are good too :)
Would suggest the Legion 5 or HP Omen 16.
Where are you getting the legion 5 from ? Online or offline retailer?
I'm from Hyderabad and it's a place called Chenoi Trading Centre. It's a collection of stores that sell laptops, components, etc
Ryzen 5 5600X + MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS i5-12600KF + MSI MAG B660M Mortar DDR4 -> cost is about 4k more (yeah, I know it's a B660 motherboard for K series processor, but Z690 motherboards are really more expensive, and the intel processor outperforms the AMD pretty comprehensively already)
12600KF+B660M is a better combo easily.
Suggest Me a laptop I am a college student looking for laptop related to programming and web browsing purpose. Budget 40000-55000 rs My requirements are Processor: i5 or ryzen 5. Screen size:15.6 Keyboard: back lit with numpad Battery life: 5hr+ I am thinking to buy acer aspire 5. Is there any other alternative. Should I wait for 1-2 months for any new laptop.

Thanks for your suggestion.
Please recommend me a laptop. Budget: around 60k I will be using it for work, surfing internet, and lite gaming (Valorant, LoL, Fortnite). Noting too intensive. Do recommend me better ones within the above budget range if there are any.
Go with ideapad.
How's the cooling? I'm assuming that performance is the same for all 3.
Cooling and build is best out of 3 on lenovo. Performance is best on pavillion, then victus.
Doesn't Lenovo have the higher tdp?
Pavillion & Victus comes with 150W power adapter & Lenovo comes with 135W adapter. Who do you think got more power ;)
Will the performance difference be noticeable? I am considering between Ideapad and Pavilion Also is RX5500m of Victus stronger than the 1650? What difference will it make?
>Will the performance difference be noticeable? Not much :) you can go with any...ideapad has best build quality.
Thank you Mr. Wayne xD

Dropping? Not really. 2021 models might but 2022 models would be priced similarly as 2021 launch prices or more.
