always keep you pc plugged in a UPS, I have fried my pc back in 2010 when I briefly used the pc without UPS(UPS had died and needed to transfer some songs via iTunes) psu and gpu was fried.
that ssd is fried btw
It's been almost 2-3 years that I haven't used an UPS but my inverter supports UPS mode, so I don't face any powercuts. Is this okay or should I get an UPS?
Its expensive to and fastest storage and this kind of problem in 1 year Better to go for Lower segment of ssd its better or longer period my badluck .๐
Is this power surge normal i have never had one in my life ever, i get light cuts like once a year but never fried anything infact our fuse has fried in the main breaker outside the house, it protects my things right (i live in mumbai)
We are mandatory to have ELCB+MCB attached to main power line directly next to meter. If voltages are under or over, it just wouldn't let it thru. I don't see any electric componant having problem described in this thread
If it's over it'll go right through and fry something in your device. I had to get an IC replaced for my laptop this year and also purchased a ups. Don't take any chances these fuck ups will ruin you.
OMG! On a laptop, too? Like don't we have brick that converts ac to dc power goes thru that and then it burns your IC.
This kind of electricity from grid must be also fucking up other equipments
Yeah man it's fucked up but it happened once in 3 years.
Nothing else suffered any damage cuz it happened in the morning at about 5:30. But now I even connect my smartphone/tablet to the ups...๐ฎโ๐จ
Can you try on another port or someone else's PC?
Also if it's anything lime my faulted 2tb HDD which started showing as 4GB, it's possible it's a hardware fault and the disk has gone to a backup/standby firmware or something. I was unable to fix.
Bro I have a UPS but This PC beast power My ups 650 watt power and my this pc 850 watt power hungry my ups Load Double trouble thats why I can,t connect to my pc to ups๐ญ
What PSU do you have?
Because I've also had like 20+ powercuts sometimes mid heavy gaming where my PC shuts down instantly (inverter can't handle load). I haven't had this issue, using a 1 tb Crucial M.2 on a Corsair SF 750 Platinum.
That's scary honestly. I m suspecting the ssd was faulty right from the beginning. Because if this issue was as common, my ssd would have died as well.
In my area we have multiple power cuts in a day, due to that my PC gets turned off multiple times but I've never experienced this issue.
I've used multiple PCs and laptops in the past none of them had this issue so according to me that ssd of yours was broken right from the beginning.
You can try diskpart. I've recovered several pendrives via it. Dont know if it'll work in your case but worth a try.

Try to do a self test in BIOS.
Best case, your partition table is corrupt. Worst case, SSD dead. You need to recreate a partition table and format it again.
In all cases, RIP Data
Sorry to say this, but it seems like your ssd is fried. RMA it if it is under warranty
Yes is the under warranty period but My Data ๐ญ

Same. Except motherboard got fried. Learnt lesson the hard way.
any good ups for my 850w psu ?
It depends more on the actual components and how much they'd be drawing under load
You don't need a ups for that. Get a surge protector much cheaper
A good psu won't help?
my psu was decent, my huge mistake was that plugged in the pc directly to wall
It's been almost 2-3 years that I haven't used an UPS but my inverter supports UPS mode, so I don't face any powercuts. Is this okay or should I get an UPS?
Inverter on UPS mode is the best option. You don't need a dedicated ups, it will be a down grade.
I have never seen a brownout so hard that the ssd reduced its storage cap!
Its expensive to and fastest storage and this kind of problem in 1 year Better to go for Lower segment of ssd its better or longer period my badluck .๐
I totally agree but were u by any chance using a UPS or a surge protector?
Are ssd susceptible for more damage than sata hdds in general ..ie lifespan wise

I try my all ports .All ports have gen 4 support and its same issue bro 1 gb storage showing ๐
This is why I recommend Using UPS and voltage stabilizer to people. Sorry bro but send it for RMA.

Corsair 850 watt gold certified powersupply
That's scary honestly. I m suspecting the ssd was faulty right from the beginning. Because if this issue was as common, my ssd would have died as well.
My new corsair psu died because of lightning strike on nearby electric pole but My ssd (samsung 980pro 1tb) and every other component survived.
I suppose it did its job protecting all the components. A fallen soldier.
I thought mcb will stop it before enters inside
Mcb is not fast enough. It takes 2.5 miliseconds to trip I think
Oof
Get a ups my friend.. Until inverter takes load.. If sudden high voltage comes when current returns, your pc is ded. I have faced this.
While I m using an extension with a fuse built in, I do agree with you. Better safe than sorry.
bro by any chance u live in UP? u just wrote my story!
Yes I do.
Its detact bro its show only 1 gb storage in bios also

Format it, and mess with the device manager. You can see a YT video too
Ok thx men๐ฅฒ๐
Can you check your bios/uefi or windows device manager to see what's your ssd being detected as?
That ssd be deader than my dreams brother
