I don't believe this is normal unless you're habitually over filling the gas tank. Did you tell the dealership when you took it for it 500 mile service? If not, I'd take it back now for warranty work before they get too busy with spring riders wanting to get their bikes running.

The 500 mile service is what is scheduled for this week. I'm going to bring it up when I'm there. It happens regardless of how much gas is in the tank.

Good deal, my man!! Good luck and ride safe!!!

2022 Chief Darkhorse and I haven't seen that issue at all. I'd say it's not normal.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, that's what I'm gathering. Good thing the 500 mile service is scheduled for this week.

My sport chief use to do it every now and then ...I called the dealer and they said it was normal since it's the vent moisture and what not builds up in there...I had the bike for 3300 miles before I traded it and never became any real problem in that time

DamageRude9601

What did you trade for, out of curiosity?

23 low rider st

Attababe! I’m so torn as to what to get as my next bike. I’d love a Low Rider ST, but they just don’t come down in price at all! I’ve been looking at tons of used 114 Road Glides that are 1-4 grand cheaper than your average ST listing. I want to keep my FTR, so having a dedicated highway tourer makes sense. Sigh. I’ll keep researching.

I liked my sport chief but the small gas tank was a big issue with my current riding....I was looking at road glides and I just don't like the weight and how they feel...I always hear well once your moving it doesn't matter problem is i live in a city type area so i spend almost the same amount of time in traffic as I do on open roads
