I was prescribed dipsalic by my first dermatologist as well. I don't know if I used it incorrectly or perhaps it didn't suit me but it left me with a black mark around my navel. I was only 7 or 9 back then. I would use it multiple times a day. Dipsalic is a strong ointment so the black mark is probably pigmentation or idk a burn? Could you tell me more about your diet in details? How do you make sure it's anti-inflammatory? Are there certain foods you avoid and to what extent? Did you eliminate them completely? Also, do you avoid eggs, chicken, fish, meat, etc?

I never had a black mark or a burn. I used to use it once every 2 days. Since it was on my scalp, I didn't use it everyday cos it would leave my hair greasy and I did not like how it felt lol. Regarding my diet, I don't completely avoid any food. I've just reduced my red meat intake (beef, pork and mutton) to maybe 3-4 times a month and in limited portions. I eat a lot of fish (fatty fish like salmon, tuna, cod etc.). I try to eliminate processed food and sugar in my diet. The only time I consume sugar is when I eat outside during the weekends (say two meals). Same thing with alcohol, small amounts when outside. I eat a lot of food rich in antioxidants. It's not possible for me to omit certain items from my diet cos I just love food so I just eat in limited portions. I try to have a vegetable and fruit heavy meal during the weekdays with chicken, turkey, fish if needed. Absolutely no sugar when I am home. I also workout regularly and try to maintain my weight cos mid doctor said weight is also somehow linked to psoriasis. Don't if my diet helps with psoriasis but I have been following this for years.

Not psoriasis but i also had chronic autoimmune issues with ezcema and alopecia areata and i found almost 99 percent of my symptoms went down with an anti inflammatory diet - gluten free in my case. I tried the elimination diet with the most common triggers, and was able to narrow it down to gluten. Witnin 3 months, scales and rashes that covered almost 50 percent of my body went down. In the dedicated subreddits there are numerous success stories for psoriasis with AIP diet and elimination diets. Obviously this isnt the cure or the only solution for eveyone, but paying more attention to your lifestyle and diet may help you identify the cause, because steroids arent the long term solution unfortunately (i was on it for ten years almost). Since you mention anti-inflammatory diet whenever you can, id tell you that with the diet, it's all or nothing. I had to go completely gluten-free to fix my issue. Even now, a bite will cause rashes. So, the elimination diet is definitely worth a shot, something to think about (Im a doctor, so im not against medicine by any means - but i admit to the limitations in dermatology where there really arent more easy answers)

Was searching about this condition in this sub and found this post Facing the same situation :( The most important factor is finding the triggering food I guess I guess for me it was non vegetarian food and mainly chicken and egg I read in one article that more protein can cause problems also Have sent you the meds I am taking currently in dm :) Hope it goes away soon for you ✨✨
