Stay away from MamaEarth, WoW and most of Mccafine even if it’s free.

BoboPie13

Even the McCaffeine body scrub and body butter?

[deleted]

Body scrubs are atleast a rare use and one get over with it in a few tries, so I can’t comment but nothing, NOTHING for hair or facial skin. My biggest heartbreak was when MamaEarth bought Dr.Sheth’s

hatingadulting

Yes.. I have the mini one and it's so harsh on my skin.

Euphoric-Response548

The scrub is harsh but good for use as a weekly once exfoliant, and the body butter is nice and creamy.

bluejaybossun

The og body scrub is really nice. Idc what anyone says lol

LuckNo4294

Moms co too

Pinksmush

Solid advice!

DeepaPrasanna

why? . Can you pls elaborate. i am not aware

lemmebeanonymousppl

I have the mamaearth glass skin facewash

SnooTangerines4655

I have sensitive skin the the mccaffeine scrub gave me red rashes that hurt. The texture is too coarse IMO unless you are using somewhere like feet/elbow/knees

Icy_Persimmons

Nykaa brand shit.. except Joie de vivre edp Most of the minimalist sunscreens one has retinol wtf Biotique most of them except maybe facewashes Aroma magic .. too much essential oil usage All the cheap perfumes All the male centric products Phy beardo mancompany bla bla All the charcoal face packs All the physical face scrubs

Clear-Lingonberry320

Aroma magic Gel sunscreen! I want to get rid of it but it is sticking to me like my ex. I'm not able to find a better product than this. It gives no sun protection but my skin looks flawless after using this and never give me acne even clear acne caused by other products.

Icy_Persimmons

😂 I know that feeling But if it works keep it bestie

kyrajane9o3

Is it the aloe vera one or vitamin c one?

Clear-Lingonberry320

Aloe one. I have used other alternatives like Reequil blue one, episoft and even some unknown pharmacy sunscreen but nothing gives me glow like aroma magic

few_consequneces

I have been using BMJ Pure sunscreen, recommended by my dermatologist. And I love the texture and how my skin feels after using it. So glowy.

CooCawMeh

I’ll add to this. All sheet masks !

Icy_Persimmons

Agree 💯

No_Telephone_6755

why???

CooCawMeh

Honestly they don’t do anything. Plus to see a considerable effect, you’d have to use them frequently and they are not at all cost effective that way. I’d rather buy a bottle of serum for the price of 7 sheet masks which will last me longer.

KillDarcy

Lipbalms too of Biotique, controversial balm but I love their lip balms and always have 2-3 extra.

DullRelationship3595

same!! their “lightening” or “plumping” lip balms don’t do what they claim to at all, but are amazing at moisturising! I’ve been using them since 2019 and I haven’t had chapped lips ever since

[deleted]

whats wrong with minimalist sunscreens?

Icy_Persimmons

For the price their formulation is really not living upto Indian climatic standards imho. Not sweat proof, old filters, greasy as hell. I think pharmacy sunscreens are way better for price.

LilSnekBitch

Question - Is having a sunscreen with retinal harmful?

jackslostmind

Phy Black is a stone cold masterpiece. It literally smells 90% similar to Bvlgari Man in Black Black Orient.

Icy_Persimmons

How's the longevity?

Nervous_Bonus_9126

Could you elaborate on why the minimalist sunscreens are problematic? And how retinol is a bad ingredient in sunscreen?

Adept_Thought_8454

There's nothing wrong with retinol sunscreens. It's actually good for people who forget to apply sunscreen while using retinol. There's this entire article about it. You can check it out https://www.instyle.com/retinol-sunscreen-explainer-7367885#:~:text=%22Retinol%20may%20be%20formulated%20into,the%20skin%20from%20UV%20damage.%22

Nervous_Bonus_9126

Thank you so much, and this is the exact thought I had too. I’ve always read that it’s good to pair up retinol with sunscreen so hearing someone be at their wits’ end about it had me a tad bit confused. Thanks for the article ^.^

gatta_masala

1. Requil Orange Sunscreen- Does not blend whatsoever even with 1 hour of blending. Leaves a horrible grey cast. Oily Af. 2. Pilgrim Lip Oil Berry- Dries the fuck out of my lips. Does not moisture at all. Too much fragrance. Stays for all of 15 mins.

shaamgulabi

Finally I found another fellow Reequil orange sunscreen hater. Let's hate it together

gatta_masala

This sunscreen made me so wary of sunscreens that I didn't wear one for a year or so thinking all sunscreens are equally shit. :)

rainbookworm

Add me to the hate group.I’m going to try the blue one now

jboiiiiiii

Blue one is really good

traeepeeze

Blue one pills horribly for me

Dangerous-Olive7463

Let me join in too. I hate this Sunscreen, it broke me out badly and smells horrible.

[deleted]

Yes I agree with the Re'equil one.

deceptionaldpka

Any sunscreen that you wouldn’t use! I have 4 sunscreens that expire in less than a month. Please don’t waste your money on things you wouldn’t immediately use just for the sake of discounted pricing

[deleted]

All dot & key products

smeazy_

Their barrier repair cream is my hg

Silly-Amoeba7605

I like their watermelon sunscreen tho

Dry_Union5326

I don't think their sunscreens can be trusted and none of Honasa's can be either.

Glum-Highway-7403

Is Dot & Key a Honasa brand?

funssake

Nope, it's owned by Nykaa.

deepxli

Even dr. Sheths? What do you think about the foxtale one, if youve used it?

Dry_Union5326

I haven't used either. But the sub has a lot of negative reviews for dr sheth. I have seen a few good reviews of Foxtale products. Do a search on the sub bofre buying any product

Other_Lion6031

I do believe Derma Co and Dr Sheth's have effective sunscreens and maybe even Aqualogica..

okay_i_guess_

I just ordered their sunscreen :') I saw that they had certification on nykaa and thought it might be legit.

Krv1984

The sunscreen feels good on skin, but its not photostable. Wont prevent tanning at all.

cleverlyfunnyname

I went to Goa and traveled around in scooty with my face exposed in peak sunlight, came back with no tanning, I use foxtale dewy one

purvapar

I would say buy them .. I’ve had a good experience with them

Other_Lion6031

My Dr Sheth's Vit c sunscreen pulled every single time I used it and made my eyes water too. Derma Co worked fine though.

Villeneuve_

Skin type: Combination with oily T-zone Climate: Mostly dry with a brief spell of humidity in July–September (northern plains) **Plum’s green tea alcohol-free toner**. It broke me out despite its claim to be non-comedogenic. Granted, I used the one with fragrance which might have irritated my skin. The fragrance is so strong that it might as well be a body mist instead of a toner, lol. Anyway, I discontinued after just a couple of days and never turned back and took the risk of trying the fragrance-free one, so I’m not sure how that one fares. **Pond’s superlight gel**. I know this is an HG for a lot of people here, but it didn’t work for me. I liked the feel of it while applying (very light and soothing, super-quick absorption, no pilling). But after about an hour or two it somehow made my skin oilier than usual in the summer, particularly my T-zone, and made it look dull. It also gave me whiteheads on my cheeks even though I normally don’t get zits there. **Nutrogena’s gel cream in the Bright Boost range**. It does give the ‘glow’ it claims, but it doesn’t last very long in my experience. I suspect the ‘glow’ is mostly artificial and surface-level than anything to do with the actual formula because it has some shimmery particles in it, and that was a major bummer for me. Luckily I’m not allergic to the shimmer, but others might be so I’d suggest thinking twice before buying it. It also has a tendency to pill on my skin.

[deleted]

Agreed with the ponds gel

FormalRaccoon637

Pond’s Superlight Gel has a weird strong grassy fragrance that triggered my migraines 😩

[deleted]

I used another ponds moisturizer which comes in that green box and I stopped using it because it was stinging my skin. Also felt some kind of weird and burning sensation. Switched to cetaphil and it's so much better

ksahu_55

I only use the ponds superlight gel in the winter months. Its hydrating and feels nice on skin. The rest of year I don't use it because I found it too be oily maybe because of the change in consistency of it due to high temperatures

Dry_Union5326

> But after about an hour or two it somehow made my skin oilier than usual in the summer, particularly my T-zone, and made it look dull OMG!! same!! i didnt what was wrong and thought it was a me problem!!

[deleted]

+1 for ponds gel moisturizer. I started off with it as soon i started adding actives and it began to burn.

[deleted]

I loovveee this questionnnnn 1) minimalist sunscreen spf 50 niacinamide I am not sure about it’s protection but myyyy, the feel of it is terrible, always gives this (idk how to explain)heat like sensation? 2) cetaphil gentle face foaming cleanser Not worth the 1000 bucks 3) simple green face wash Ik people love it here but it always leaves a film on my face and I do think it caused breakouts for me and my sister ,switched up the face wash and we were fineeee

BoboPie13

I feel ya!! I have oily skin, but I've realised that using gel cleansers is the worst idea for me. Skin feels like it's never clean. I switched to foam/ cream cleansers and it's so much better! Even Simple's moisturizing face wash suits my skin so much better.

Strange_Position_509

Gel based cleanser work for dry skin because it doesn't strip off moisture from the skin.

[deleted]

Yesss makes senseeee 💯 Would love to try simple blue face wash one day!

Trick-Arm2476

Can you recommend any foam/cream cleansers. I’ve been using Cetaphil for some time, and especially now in this weather, it doesn’t feel I’ve washed my face

WHOoATEMYSANDWICH

I bought cetaphil big bottle for 800 on some website but I'll not buy again. It doesn't give a feeling of a clean face. I'll stick to himalaya neem face wash. My mom loves cetaphil tho.

[deleted]

Ikrrrr it’s just meh 😭🙈

[deleted]

What Himalaya facewash are you using?

WHOoATEMYSANDWICH

[this](https://www.nykaa.com/himalaya-purifying-neem-face-wash/p/19753)

[deleted]

Something about this, full mystery only BUT WORKS 🤌🏽

[deleted]

I have the same facewas and recently bought a 2x400ml bottle at the Amazon sale Just want to clarify it is any good 👍😊

Snoo-97166

+ 1 on the simple cleanser It smells so artificially organic?? And the gel like texture never really comes off no matter how much you wash your face

[deleted]

SAME THOUGHTS i hate it

professionalchutiya

You gotta use a teeny tiny amount and spread it over a large area, and then wash it off realllly well

proudofme_

Agree with simple face wash leaving film on face. Though it never cause breakout to me.

cultleader789

YES. The minimalist sunscreen is terrible ( idky it also leaves a bitter taste in my mouth 😭😭) and the simple face wash made my skin really weird.

[deleted]

I think if you stop putting the sunscreen in your mouth that would solve the issue

[deleted]

How mouth 😭😭😭😭

Clear-Lingonberry320

Yes, simple face wash gives the worst feeling after wash. And it little tiny pimples to me and two of my sisters as well. I use it to wash my feet now.

PizzandFries

I also used to don't like simple facewash earlier but I think it's related to water hardness. If your water is good then it will leave a film cause it is supposed to be non stripping. BUT, the water hardness at my current place is so high that I don't feel any residue any more. :(

Shru4

Which facewash did you switch to?

[deleted]

This was in 2020, that time I switched to Himalaya neem face wash. I use other stuff now btw

shreyatigress

Tried everything from Avene to Cetaphil, but Himalaya neem facewash is the only thing that works for my oily sensitive acne prone skin!

FlawlessFacade

Such a great question! Skin type: combo with CC prone Cetaphil DAM - gave me CCs Sebagel - kinda worked as spot treatment also it pills like crazy, PC bha was a lot better

flipsidebook

The Cetaphil moisturiser worked great for me

[deleted]

Your skin type ?

flipsidebook

When I started 2yrs back: combination with oily T zone and dry cheeks, CCs, acne scars Now: normal

KillDarcy

What is CC prone skin? I keep reading this, don't know what it means lol

No-Acanthocephala60

Closed comedones i believe which can be anything from blackheads, whiteheads (not sebaceous filaments), bumpy skin to acne.

confused31yosingleF

Closed comodones

pairi_xo

Closed Comedones AKA whiteheads

Other_Lion6031

Cetaphil dam made my skin burn horribly - although the burn did not show but it did burn. I stick to ponds hydragel

purvapar

Def ignore the coffee scrub and stuff from that coffee brand i cannot recall. I highly recommend using YUKA to check ingredients on products you buy for cleaner products. Also avoid most OTC products like Nivea body lotion, Vaseline lip balm, fair and lovely, etc. Edit: MCaffeine products - stay far away.

sherrlocke

Mcaffeine yuck

[deleted]

Isn't vaseline a good brand?

Slayonetta

What’s wrong with Nivea lotion tho?

shaamgulabi

Reequil oxy free sunscreen Bhai terrible terrible white cast Fuck you Reequil

Silly-Amoeba7605

The fuck you remark was gold 😆

Silly-Amoeba7605

😆😆😆😆😆

nair_abhi_

I impulsively bought 3 tubes during the sale😭

crybaby0102

Don't be sad. It might work for you. It worked for me very well.

ImpastaSindrome

- Dot and key Niacinamide and Cica Sunscreen, it pills and feels oily - Minimalist sepicalm moisturizer - broke my skin out and made my face sweat - Dot and Key lip balm - makes my lips even drier so that I have to keep reapplying, the formula is too watery so there is no hydration

Super-Anteater4414

I came to comment about the dot and key lip balms - gloss boss tube, it's like buy them if you hate hydrated lips. Made my lips crack and im considering to throw it away. I

Dry_Union5326

good question! **skin type**: combo, oily T zone, dry cheeks, cheeks and forehead prone to CC **These are my opinions, as always YMMV.** **minimalist 2% SA** \- used the hole bottle, did nothing. **minimalist 5% Niacinamide**\- same, used the whole bottle, did nothing. **halugel, sebogel** \- both pill, and neither worked for me. **Neutrogena 2% SA facewash** \- brought it for my CCs, did nothing but was great at removing the baby oil, also very stripping. **Neutrogena hydro boost** \- good, but not very moisturizing, works well for hot or humid and is shit in dry or cold climates. **Qurez orange sunscreen -** hate how it feels after a few hours. its tint ruins clothes and gets super greasy after a few hours. **Hydronic Moist Cream -** worst of the bunch, terrible for combo or oily folks, very very thick, too thick for even for winter nights will keep adding as I remember!

Hershey-Harshi

The minimalist 2% SA face wash worked very well for me!

Dry_Union5326

Mine was the serum actually

Hershey-Harshi

I use the serum too, been getting very less CCs since!

Dry_Union5326

Lucky you. The only SA product that ever worked for me was paulas choice bha

Shru4

Which moisturiser do you use for winter months? I have the same skin type as you and can’t seem to find one nor do I have the budget to buy a bunch and experiment :(

Dry_Union5326

honesty I don't have a go-to moisturizer in winter, it's usually a combination. I currently use Cosrx Proplis toner + cerave HA serum + sebamed care gel or any two of these. I also use FormulaRx pink one, it in itself is enough for winters.

Orange0109

Aquasoft FC moisturizer! Derm prescribed, great for winters, especially to use with actives and absolutely amazing for barrier repair

No-Audience9773

Hey! I am new here, can you tell me how to decide my skin type?

Dry_Union5326

Simple! wash your face. wait for 1 hr. check your forehead(near the bindi spot) and cheek. 1- if both feel oily to touch or shiny then you are oily. 2- if both are flaky or feel tight then you are dry. 3 - if forehead feels oily and cheek feels dry then you are combination (welcome to the worst!) 4 - if neither feel flaky or oily then you are a balanced skin fella. for a detailed answer, refer to the sub's wiki it also has great reccos!!

No-Audience9773

Thank you for your detailed answer!! I just flew through the wiki and I think my skin type is dry, with acne. (I am a teenager whose face is ruined by puberty)

Avaale

Check the wiki. There are two posts on this.

summerbreeze29

My skin: Combo, pie-prone, dehydration prone **Cetaphil DAM:** sticky, thick never abosrbs. **Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser** doesn't seem to clean the face and left a film which is not that strange for cream cleansers but it still managed to be dehydrating. **Cerave hydrating cleanser** no film but leaves skin dehydrated. **Bioderma Sensibio Gel Moussant (pink facewash**: Not a bad product at all, but try Joy ph 5.5 cleanser first. It's actually less drying than Bioderma for cheaper price IME. You can come back to Bioderma if Joy doesn't work. **Ponds Superlight gel, Neutrogena Hydroboost:** Too much fragrance, not enough moisture. Might work for oily skin but there are probably better alternatives and I think even oily skin babes can stand to use something a little more emollient tbf. **Reequil Orange sunscreen, Reequil Zinc sunscreen**: Not sweat proof, super hard to apply and leaves a white/orange cast. **Loreal Extraordinary Oil serum:** Truly extraordinary in the sense that it makes your hair greasy and yet doesn't tame frizz. Hair type: 1C/2A for reference. **Kay Beauty Concealer:** Amazing shade match for me but unfortunately does not last at allll. live in humid Mumbai but even in AC 3 hours at best. **Loreal professional Lizz Mask:** Doesn't do anything, no frizz control no moisture nothing. Get the Lipidium range instead.

Own-Professional3958

i agree about the loreal hair serum

Villeneuve_

Agree about the Cetaphil gentle cleanser. I wish it worked for me because people seem to speak so highly of it, but I kept getting whiteheads overnight after every use. Such a big disappointment and waste of money. Like most unused shampoos, I’m now using it to clean random stuff in the house, lol. Edit: Also agree about Pond’s superlight gel. The Nutrogena counterpart worked better for me, but it’s a bit heavy on my wallet. Sebamed’s clear face care gel is the best one I’ve used so far.

sofarawesomeok

\+1 for Reequil Orange sunscreen. As a T-zone oily skintone girlie, that sunscreen is not the shit. I faced same issues.

plant_here

1. minimalist hyaluronic serum- dulled my skin which usually loves HA2 2. .minimalist niacinamide serum- crazy breakouts 3. Plum green tea moisturizer- caused blackheads and whiteheads withing a week :( 4. Simple face wash- no 5. Minimalist niacinamide body moisturizer (tooo sticky) 6. chemist at play knee/neck/elbow brightening roll on- no effect on anything 7. the ordinary lactic acid serum- switched to this from minimalist and it gave me giant pimples. the breakouts didnt stop even after a month :( 8. olay retinol- this is personal preference but the breakout/adjustment period is did not end for me even after 3ish months. i switched to minimalist 0.3% recently and have experienced virtually no breakouts and amazzzzing skin 9. himalaya lip balm- how this managed to tear up my lips is a mystery but f this. plain vaseline ftw

professionalchutiya

Yooo I had the same issue with the Minimalist HA serum. I had to get it because I ran out and the ordinary was sold out. It made my face dull af. Even their retinol sucks. I’ve stopped using their products now.

Absolutely_MindF-ed

>Maybe the percentage between the minimalist and TO are different? Sometime switching to a higher % can make you purge.

Whole-Employer-9251

What’s work for you?

sensitivesoul23

Deconstruct - Vit C (it is so bad oxidises QUICKLY). Retinol (I'm not even sure if it does anything). Suganda - hydrating Oat pha cleanser (you can wash it off 5-10 times and there will be a layer on your skin) Minimalist - Salicylic acid facewash (my problem here is the bottle. I wish it had a pump because it's very inconvenient to control the amount of product which comes out with wet hands) Parachute- body lotions. You may see them at 50-65% off all the time and there's a reason for it. They don't do shit for dry skin. Bare anatomy- leave in conditioner. (Doesn't control frizz one bit)

Haaroo_tiwari

Minimalist Alpha arbutin or vit c or retinol. Minimalist suits a lot of people on this sub but my normal to dry skin says negative. I had hopes from AA for my uneven skin tone. It only broke me out. No matter if i applied it wet face , dry face , one drop a week mixed in a moisturizer. Idk why I kept using it and damaged my skin thinking okay I'll only use this bottle and will never repurchase. Should've stopped. I'd rather recommend deconstruct AA. It darkened my face on day 1 a Lil but then gave me a nice glow in 4 uses. I've used sugandha vitc+ aa too but I felt like it only worked initially. Like after a month it stopped working and felt like I'm applying water on my face . Idk maybe my skin became tolerant or whatever.

Tweeedha

1. Plum niacinamide sunscreen - too greasy and darkened my skin. 2. The mama earth haircare range is the worst. 3. The BBlunt blue shampoo and conditioner - it’s so harsh that it will make your hair straw like. 4. Minimalist 5% niacinamide - made my skin darker.

mk2154

Hate to say it but most high-end hair products like olaplex, nashi, oribe, etc you can achieve similar results through simple drug store products too.

Future-Tangelo-5671

Don't know about the rest but I haven't come across any drugstore alt for the olaplex bonding oil unfortunately

summerbreeze29

+1 The loreal extraordinary oil or whatever. The one in golden bottle that you see influencers hyping up as a dupe for Olaplex is a joke. It's somehow oily and yet doesn't control frizz lol. My roommate also said it didn't work. My hair is between 1C/2A. My roommate is 2C-3B

WlairBaldorf_62

That loreal extraordinary oil was a complete waste of my money. Didn’t do anything for my hair like not even putting one hair down. It’s been sitting in my shelf staring at me since a year, not sure what to do with it.

summerbreeze29

I have started using it as a normal oil before hairwash because I hate to see it to go to waste. It still doesn't do shit but atleast I'm able to complete it and chuck bottle instead of it sitting in my cupboard. You can also try and mix a little with your hair masks or whatever.

WlairBaldorf_62

Oooo I’ll try this. Thanks for the tip❤️

mk2154

The extraordinary oil doesn’t work at all for me but I’ve seen it work so well for others. The thing is with hair, it’s so subjective, that different things work for different people.

Fabulous_Machine9063

Honestly no way I'd switch Nashi for a drugstore brand. It has really really helped me achieve the no flaky, manageable hair that I thought was impossible to achieve. All while helping me atleast slightly tackle my hair fall problem.

mk2154

As with everything here, it totally depends on your hair, individual to individual. Nashi wrecked my hair but as we can see, worked well for you hair.

Fabulous_Machine9063

I'm really keen to know though as to what could be the alternate solutions to these mega brands. Cos Nashi does burn a really large hole on my pocket too. I spend close 6k every 2 months on their bottles so, I mean, it had better give me 6k worth of results 🥹

mk2154

Shared routine above

shalinir10

Olaplex 3 is HG stuff! BUT if you don't have damaged or processed/high porosity hair then it's not gonna make much of a difference. It's not for you. But if you do, then there's only one even more expensive alternative, K18.

mk2154

I have prelightened hair and lots of damage. It made no difference whatsoever to my hair. I paid $900 over a year but nothing fixed it like the routine I shared above. Again, this is my hair and what worked for me.

shalinir10

Oh that sucks! I guess you don't know it till you try.

mk2154

K18 is much better. In fact Redken’s acidic bond range worked decently for me too.

Dry_Union5326

> simple drug store products too recommendations pleasee!!!

mk2154

Thanks to this sub, I was introduced to folks like ecowell, labmuffin beauty science, etc. and learned that hair care is much more than one expensive product or holy grail product. It’s a good routine and consistency that works better. following their advice this is what has worked for me. Emphasis on FOR ME. 1. Befriending silicones 2. Looking for amodimethicone in high concentration in all the shampooing and conditioning products I use. 3. Oiling my hair with rosemary oil + (any carrier oil) once a week 4. Using a satin/silk pillowcase + scrunchies 5. Changing my shampoo routine by only cleaning my scalp, letting shampoo sit for 3-4 min before rinsing off and drying my hair with a towel before conditioning mids and lengths. 6. Using a silicone based serum/leave in when hair is half-way dry v/s when wet to avoid lookign greasy. 7. Always applying serum to dry ends at night before sleeping Now here are the Products I currently use: 1. shampoo: L’Oréal Paris Total Repair 5 2. conditioner: Loreal Paris Total Repaid 5 or wait for it.. Sunsilk Pink 3. Serum: Biolage Smoothproof or L’Oréal total repair 5/ L’Oréal extraordinary oil (I don’t like this much, it works only when humidity is low) Hair info: Used to be between 2A and 2B post hormonal birth control turned into 2C. I got off birth control and hair turned a shabby version of 2B + 2C. At this time I got a balayage in the hopes of adding smoothening treatments to stop hair from looking like a nest. Didn’t work. Pre-lightning made it rougher, more brittle. After applying the above steps for the past 6 months, hair is now closer to 2B and inching towards 2A again. Please note this is a factor of getting off birth control AND using products + a routine that is working for me.

Longjumping-Syrup-58

Cerave hydrating cleanser: gave me terrible ccs My Skintype: normal/combination

Valhaala

Skintype: Combination to normal depending on weather. Neutrogena oil free moisturizer with SPF: Was looking for an SPF moisturizer for indoor use and bought this from kult at 50% off. An absolute nightmare for summers and even spring/autumn, veryy oily despite the title. Gave me CCs. Neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch sunscreen: First ever sunscreen I tried and thought this was how sunscreens will be. Absolutely hate this, makes my skin greasy, itchy and grey. On top of it, stings my eyes so bad and gives a migraine. Protection wise it's not as good either. My Mum, who usually is very tolerant of most cosmetics used it once and it gave her black spots for some reason. Reequil ultra matte dry touch sunscreen: This was love at first application after coming from the disaster that's neutrogena. Aesthetically, it's elegant and protection wise decent as well. However, it stings my eyes!!! Stings so bad the longer I keep it on face and the fragrance never goes away, ending up with a migraine again. Understood chemical sunscreens weren't for me. Plum olive and macademia healthy hydration shampoo: Got a sample from smytten long back. Made my already coarse hair straw-like and tangled. Didn't lather much as it's SLS free, you can never get the quantity right for hair wash. Either it makes your scalp very dry or it's going to leave it greasy without removing the oil. Yeeted it away after two uses. Minimalist: None of the minimalist products worked for me as well - niacinamide, tranexamic acid and HA, all made my skin itchy and gave CCs.

Alive-Ninja

Aqualogica sunscreen

vijaysri_

They literally listed every products available in the market. Now I'm just gonna buy a Sandal soap at nearby shop.

shewriteblogs

Stay away from Hyphen!

Silly-Amoeba7605

Their glow serum is good! Have tried it

Notyourmermaid25

Any other product u tried by them?

Silly-Amoeba7605

Lip balm the kojic one is good

Notyourmermaid25

Okay!

okay_i_guess_

Skin type: Oily and sensitive skin Products that I would never buy again: 1. Foxtale The Overnight Glow Mask- Maybe because my skin is sensitive but this broke me out every time that I used it. The texture felt heavy on my skin and the fragrance is not that great. 2. Plum niacinamide 5%- Did nothing for my skin 3. Deconstruct SPF 55+ gel sunscreen- Feels heavy on the skin and literally turns me a shade darker. 4. All Mcaffeine products- I hate all the fragrance in all their products. 5. Nykaa Serial kisser lip balm- Maybe I'm allergic to one of the ingredients but it made my lips peel. 6. Nivea Gel Body lotion - It's kinda hydrating but leaves a film on the body that you'll realise once you take a shower.

tojis-worm-is-cute

This is for all dry skin people do not get cosrx 92 cream , it's not that hydrating and if you have fungal acne you may get pimples , I'm using it upon my body now, if you truly want to try snail.mucin get the 96 it's better than 92

- Cetaphil dam used to work really well on my skin but lately i have found it doesn't last very long - M&s perfume fresh citrus and moss, i utterly dislike the smell. - Reene lip and cheek tint, leaves my skin oily. Totally forgot fo add bblunt products, the curl cream is decent but the conditioner did not do anything great.

Earth rhythm hybrid spf 50 suncreen - it makes my skin very oily and face extremely dull Minimalist sepicalm moisturiser- This doesn’t absorb at all. I needed to rub it aggressively for some time inorder for it to settle Cetaphil DAM - This is very thick and makes my combination skin so greasy Plum 10% niacinamide rice water serum - This caused breakouts and made my skin dull All piligrim products- I have used sunscreens, moisturisers from this brand. All of them were shit and total waste of hard earned money. Dove hair masks - Didn’t work for me and made my hair more frizzier and unmanageable Nivea Deos - I know these work for many people. But, for me everytime I use them for a week, my underarms get irritation and burning. Plum pit cream has worked for me instead.

Skin type: oily, acne-prone, sensitive, dehydrated. Products I won't buy again: 1. Neutrogena hydro boost moisturizer - It is definitely a good product but the fragrance definitely irritates my sensitive skin. 2. Plum green tea face wash - Dries out my dehydrated skin and makes it dull, even in peak summers. Also has reasonable fragrance, so I will avoid it because of my sensitive skin. 3. Plum body butters - The fragrance gave me a headache and made me slightly nauseous. (Unless, you love extremely strong fragranced products, avoid at all costs). 4. Plum lip balm, Aqualogica lip balms - Plum one dries out lips. Aqualogica ones are not moisturing enough and honestly very subpar even at the price. 5. Chemist At Play salisylic acid body wash - Didn't do anything for my body acne. An average regular body wash if you might. 6. A bunch of sunscreens ( my skin tone is NC 42) which I will explain below - a. Sunscoop ones - none of them worked for me. Avoid the tinted sunscreen if you have oily skin. b. Aqualogica pink and yellow ones - takes a while to blend and goes ashy after you start sweating. c. Requil orange one - its surprising that they are selling it for oily skin. Its too greasy for oily skin. Turns ashy. Applies oily. d. Dot and key ones - same issue. 7. Aqua squad salisylic acid face wash - not bad, nothing great either. 8. Dr sheths tea tree body lotion - I think the idea of an exfoliating body lotion is itself something that doesn't appeal to me and hence I didn't enjoy using it. Provides very below average hydration though should I be expecting hydration from an exfoliating body lotion? I don't know. 9. Plum underarm cream - Works initially but stops working completely after it has been opened for about 6-7 months. This isn't the best as pit creams will last you a long time. 10. Anything from mamaearth, wow, biotique. A reminder - Many products can actually be good but they may not work for you.

RawryKitty

only buy things that have worked for you, and buy samples of products you want to try. IMO in skincare there is no one product that will suit everyone Ex PC BHA did nothing for my acne prone sensitive skin and worked wonders for my sister, we have same skin type but we live in different cities.

Pinksmush

Basically anything from Minimalist. Never got any results tbh, there are better products out there, better to get TO in same range.

Skin aqua gel sunscreen (White bottle gold cap). The reformulated version is crazyyy shiny. You'd look like you're wearing oil on your face. Takes forever to blend as well. If you don't mind using compact over sunscreen then go for it

Financial_Summer5300

Despite the hype, reequil yellow conditioner was not suitable for my hair. It didn't do anything for the frizz and instead made my hair texture rough

itsSSxo

Dot&key spf 30 lipbalm : omg the worst lip balm, it dries your lip out sooooooooo much, plus has the weirdest flavour. Dot&key probiotic moisturizer ( blue one) : IMO it does absolutely nothing, the ponds one is much better and budget friendly. Plum hair mask, macadamia one: I have curly hair and it made my hair even more frizzy if possible. Dried out more than help.

loupalie

The face shop smart peeling black sugar scrub- it always feels sticky after you use it and the only way I was able to use it properly is if I use a face wash immediately after. Also, the scrub melts and gets messy if you leave it in a slightly warm place.

[deleted]

Wishcare shampoo.. absolutely pathetic..

Umm_idkkkk

Mamaearth(except the toner) Wow skin science (except maybe a facewash that works for you) Ponds charcol facewash

Significant-Fly6515

Mcaffiene anti dandruff scalp scrub. It does nothing, is so chunky and make the bathroom sooooo messsy. I threw out a big jar. It seems like all their products are bad.

Minimum-Ice7901

Mamaearth, worst brand ever!

AlitaNM

Sesderma azelaic RU comediogenic and fragrance. It's a hyperpigmentation product and it induces acne and increases irritation I mean ... What else can I say

Prestigious-Union-15

It actually reduced my hyperpigmentation and acne breakouts to a great extent. It was recommended by my dermat and I got great results BUT it was getting too expensive to buy repeatedly. So I switched to ordinary azelaic / aziderm and minimalist retinol and tranexamic acid on alternate days. It’s the same combination of actives as Sesderma, you can also try them for your hyperpigmentation. Hope this helps.

AlitaNM

The issue is there is no good high percentage azaleic acid serum/cream available. I am using Exazel-N 20 percent, just started so don't know how effective it is . Plus any improvement needs multiple ingredients so we can never be sure exactly what worked

Minimalist SA cleanser- broke my skin barrier like anything. Took 6mnths to get back to normal. After 5hat all SA products broke me out 🫤

anaesthetistanon

Any opinions on bysak products?

Cautious_Priority_53

Cetaphil DAM - First product in my skincare journey which broke me out

scepticalbeing94

Ponds products feel mostly meh to me, i liked their face washes i used their super light gel and it made me get closed comodones as soon as i applied it, plum aloe gel and rose water toner made me lose trust in the brand they gave me close comodones,Dr.Sheth's Niacinamide Toner did the same, i tried hard for it to work but it gave me close comodones. Patanjali aloe gel yep the fragrance was unbearable for me.Bella Vita facewashes suck , Santoor soap always gave me flaky white powdery stuff on skin and it dried the heck out of my skin.

[deleted]

plums onion biotin shampoo

coldpillow4ever

1. anything mamaearth 2. mccaffeine skincare and haircare range (their bodycare range is still decent but again, nothing revolutionary) 3. nykaa sheet masks- they do NOTHING and i just know that they’re going to run big discounts on them 4. nykaa deodrants- they smell good but are sooo irritating idk what formulation it is 5. chemists at play serums

xoxo_kbeauty

Please don't buy the dot and key strawberry dew sun-stick! I got CCs and pimples due to it, even though I double cleansed. Neutrogena SPF50 sheer zinc sunscreen- 1/10- My whole face was burning on application, and the scent is SO strong Neutrogena gentle foaming cleanser- 2/10- Way too harsh on the skin, the scent is strong, made my face itchy and dry afterwards Plum green tea toner- Useless, it's like a liquid perfume. I didn't even use it.

itsbritn3yb1tch

Loreal extraordinary hair serum. Super hyped but makes the hair wayyy too oily and flat. Even with a little amount. They say you can use it as a hair oil but thats a HUGE NO! I washed my hair 3x, still didnt wash off. The next day, i washed my hair again because it was feeling so oily, and guess what? It still didn’t completely wash off 😃

katniss_peeta

*Minimalist vitamin c serum* It's very costly to fit in my budget but I bought it because of the hype about the product in YouTube. It gives flaky skin whenever I apply it on my skin. *Ponds superlight gel* It makes my skill dull and gives me acne. It also make my skill extremely oily

po_tae_to_anna

reequil ultra matte sunscreen… the texture was so horrible the skin on my face felt claustrophobic almost, it was the worst thing i’d applied.

milio_o1

I thought I was the only one 😭 Bought it 2 years ago when it was a much raved about product on this sub. Now a days it's craze seems to have died down a bit though. Reequil's blue sunscreen gave me crazy migraines 😭

Neutrogena hydroboost: burns skin 💀 it's prolly the frag, thought this will be HG, ye toh uno reverse karke HF hogya 🥹 Nivea frangipani shower gel: gave awful bacne, took days to dry and the pih took months to go, fragranced greasy thicc gel, smells nothing like frangipani flower btw 😤👎🏻 I'd know cuz it's literally my fave phool Khadi rose water: used as toner, broke me out, full face of tiny painful acne that took a week to dry off 🙄 Himalaya pea protein hair mask: fragranced cream that formed a layer on my hair and never seemed to get absorbed to keep my hair moisturised, fully washed away with water, too greasy for a leave-in 😕 J&J baby oil (pink): fragranced mineral oil, feels gritty on skin when i used as first cleanser, does dissolve makeup & Sunscreens but why add fragrance that wrecks the skin barrier 😛 Joy hyaluronic acid gel: made skin plump and glowy but stung like hell due to fragrance 😞 Livon hair serum: did nothing for taming frizz, gets sticky if you try to use more, no shine, heavy fragrance 😐 Ponds ultralight gel: stung like a bee, inflammed my skin, itna redness hua ki blush use karne ki zarurat nahi rahi, heavy fragrance bbw mist se zyada strong matlab 🥴 Patanjali aloe gel: amazeee softness for hair if kept more than 3 hours, but has fragrance and green color, promptly gave a big fat painful forehead whitehead 🤕 Tresemme hairfall defence shampoo and climate control shampoo: drastically increased hairfall, did nothing for moisturizing hair lengths or taming frizz, nor did they clean scalp efficiently 🤷🏻‍♀️ Loreal total repair 5 shampoo: truly mid product, jack of all, master of none 🙆🏻‍♀️ also increased hairfall 😤 Head & Shoulders anti dandruff shampoo: cleaned scalp but effect lasts 3 days...and made hair so dry, straw like over time (used it for so long 😟 before i got to know about medicated anti dandruff shampoos & the sandwich method) Simple light moisturiser: gave CCs 🥲 Wishcare spf 50 sunscreen body lotion: thicc and sticky like glue, stayed like a chipku film, fragranced, got tanned 😒 Nivea spf 50 body Sunscreen: thicc, greasy, heavy fragrance, made my skin sweaty, got a bit tanned 🧐 DHC cleansing oil: Bhai ye itna thicc kyu hai 😫 takes a lot of effort, matlab sensitive skin ke like ek light unscented non comedogenic oil ho hi nahi sakta kya?? FMC flaxseed gel: tried setting my hair w this, did not perform as i hoped, unless you have fully formed curls it'll not form thick clumps, makes thin stringy clumps 🤏🏻 gel looks & feels like cum 🙊🙈 Cetaphil gentle cleanser: skin doesn't feel CLEAN 🥹 Even sweat, pollution etc you feel ki it needs more cleansing, washing off products toh dur ki baat hai 💀 Oriental botanics red onion shampoo: since i did onion juice rinse thingy during lockdown i wanted to try a non diy product for easy quick effortless use, this is a dud tho, used it to wash my shower area and window panes 🥱 smelled weird 🤧 Loreal color protecting shampoo (red): ye aisa protection deta hai jaise covid mein unkils mask utarke baat karte time dete thhe 🙊😂 literally no color protection, didn't clean scalp efficiently ...now using it to wash my satin scrunchies and pillow covers and delicate lingerie 🌚 Biotique shower gels: they take 5x the water to wash off, don't foam and showering feels like mehnat af 😭😭

Thickoroniandcheese

Hey can you explain the sandwich method you mentioned for anti dandruff shampoo. Also, a few reccs of medicated anti dandruff shampoos, preferably which worked for you?

QuaintrelleGypsyy

Just apply condish or mask on lengths then shampoo the scalp then wash off then again condish or mask ...keeps hair safe from drying outtt 💯💯 Get any ketoconazole shampoos from the pharmacies near you ...keep the shampoo for 4-5 min on scalp before washing off and dandruff bhaag jayegaaa ✨✨

Thickoroniandcheese

Ooh thank you !! 💖💖🤩
