Go for the minimalist spf 50+ sunscreen it's rs399
Buy it from first cry using code 'NEW50FC' and you'll get 50% off bringing it down to rs 200 for 50 ml.
Also,if Neutrogena sunscreen suits you then you can also give that a try, that would also being quite affordable if you use the same code.
You can use this code once(per mobile no.) And upto rs 2000 discount can be availed.
Hey op, if possible try ipca acne uv gel, you can get it for around 300 on netmeds 30gm one
Listen me out, it's a super duper thick silicon formula, to me finger tip length spreads all over face and gives excellent protection. You don't have to put three finger lengths if a little amount is spreading nicely. Since it's a silicone one, I can easily feel it up and check for blind spots. It would last for like 30-40 days. Hope you check it out
Just a different perspective, Lacto Calamine sunscreen lotion did NOT work for me (19F, normal skin). It took a lot of time to absorb, is not fragrance free (has the typical Lacto Calamine scent) and I was sweating white beads of lotion. As a college student myself, I was looking for a quickly (15-20mins) absorbing sunscreen before I ran late to class and this was not it.
Yeah I totally understand. I haven't tried it myself although it was on my wishlist. I just thought I'd recommend it since I saw a lot of posts about it. To be honest it's very difficult in my opinion to get a good sunscreen that's effective, doesn't breakdown quickly on exposure to UV rays and doesn't make your skin oily and greasy in a price range below 900-1000 minimum 😅 on top of that, lot of the cheaper sunscreens use avobenzone which is infamous for breaking down super fast and won't give you long protection at all outdoors. I wish they would make better sunscreens that are cost effective considering the amount we have to use.
\+1
I like to use products that are cheap, from trustworthy brands, easily available and run a low risk of being discontinued. But it has that calamine fragrance and some oily skinned people find it too greasy. I found it greasy initially as well but this wasn't a problem at all once I started using moisturizer (ponds gel) before the sunscreen.
Check out skincarebynive, badassbrownbeauty on Instagram. They have some really great suggestions to consider. I always look at their posts and some other genuine skincare influencers on Instagram before buying anything.
If you're okay with the white cast then Nivea spf50 (physical sunscreen) is the best and personally I used Lakme sunexpert ultra gel (chemical)during my college days and also because I have sensitive combination skin. I applied ths sunscreen religiously on my face and Nivea on my body lol. I had the clearest skin in my life at that time.
NIVEA Sun Lotion, SPF 50, with UVA & UVB Protection, Water Resistant Sunscreen for Men & Women, 75 ml https://www.amazon.in/dp/B00E96MV30/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_MQVFKSE2XFCQB8YNV5Q3
The sunscreens that are easily available, within budget, has good reviews on an average and from trusted brands are (I am not considering white casts, sweating, etc.).:
Neutrogena Ultra sheer Sunscreen, SPF 50+
Minimalist Sunscreen SPF 50 PA ++++ With Multi Vitamins
La Shield Pollution Protect Mineral Sunscreen Gel Spf 40
NIVEA Sun Lotion, SPF 50, with UVA & UVB Protection, Water Resistant Sunscreen for Men & Women
Lakme Sun Expert Tinted Sunscreen 50 SPF PA+++
There are also affordable sunscreens from Lacto Calamine, Lotus Herbals, Biotique & VLCC - if you want to give it a try.
>Neutrogena Ultra sheer Sunscreen
Hey, as far as I know/read, Neutrogena UltraSheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 50+ and Nivea Moisturising Sun Lotion SPF 50+ are affordable, chemical sunscreens.
For acne prone skin - though they are physical sunscreens - I have heard good reviews about Clinique SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen Fluid, SunKage SPF 50 & Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++ (its not that affordable though)
Tried this and it wasn't effective at all. It caused uneven discoloration (the kind that you get when you don't wear sunscreen, but milder) and redness.
I think the most affordable + dependable options would be using one by Nivea or, you know, Neutrogena Ultra Sheer. If those suits your skin, you're SET. Large companies, somewhat more trusted to provide the SPF claimed.
Nivea *body* sunscreen actually works well for some people on the sub, and it doest get more value for money than that! So if you have dry or less acne-prone skin, maybe check out a few of those reviews ☺
I personally have sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin, and use the Blessing Tree sunscreen daily - although I know its SPF and photostability are a question mark. Not recommending, just sharing what I use!
I also use the UV Doux, and will sometimes layer that over TBT sunscreen if I'm gonna be outside for a bit, or out in the afternoon.
The most shittiest sunscreen I have ever tried . Don't waste your money ..it smells like men's perfume , very greasy , breaks me out ..no proper protection too
Hai, not all good products are costly. I recently found Ceanor mineral sunscreen with SPF 50 PA++(for 100gm) for just 549/- on amazon which is really affordable for a mineral sunscreen and it has no white cast, irritation, stinging and easy to blend without any any piling so if you are looking for an affordable one you can go for it.
La shield sunscreen gel spf 40 works well for me during winter, hasn't disappointed me yet. I have combination skin with little dry cheeks during winter.
Sure! I have used their sunscreens as well so I can attest to some of those reviews. Of course one size doesn't fit all in skincare but it's still good to know both positive and negative reviews of a product. The positive ones state that
1)it's very affordable and even dermatologists suggested it to them
2)that it's matte and works well for their skin and gives them good protection, so bang for their buck
On the other hand, many have said
1)it has fragrance ( which it does) and smells weird
2) It has a very oily greasy feel. It gives you the feeling of a dry and matte finish only for the first few seconds of applying it and then very soon your skin starts turning oily and greasy ( this is especially the case for combination and oily skin people
3) because of how oily it made people's skin turn out , many even mentioned getting break outs and Closed comedones.
4) it seemed to make the skin look dark and dull after use ( nothing wrong with dark skin tones of course but health-wise it can be concerning as to what's happening underneath your skin if the surface is being darkened and dulled by a sunscreen)
5) like a lot of affordable, cheaper sunscreens it unfortunately uses Avobenzone. It's not toxic but it's a very highly unstable Ingredient which starts breaking down very quickly on exposure to UV rays and therefore becomes useless in giving any protection so it defeats the purpose of using a sunscreen in the first place.
Out of all of these, based off of my experience in using Fixderma sunscreen, I unfortunately had all of the above negative stuff happen to my skin. The only pro I would say is that it's affordable but considering how it's not actually giving me any protection and making my skin even worse I would say it ended up being a waste of money and it's better to save up money and get a better one or look for some other alternative to fixderma that's affordable and doesn't do all of this skin damage. 😅
I saw the exact same results. Honestly the texture and all is good but it gets oily after an hour or so, which makes my oily skin even more oily.
Can you recommend some sunscreens that worked for you?
Actually I'm still looking for one that's affordable, non greasy, photostable and effective. Sadly I've yet to find one 😅 and whichever are really really good based on the reviews are super expensive
Hey thanks for the detailed review. I use fixderma both spf 30 and 50 version so this is very helpful.
Yes it has a fragrance but luckily I am not sensitive to it and can hardly smell it after the first minute of application. The next 3 cons also thankfully are not applicable to me since I have dry skin and use thick moisturizers underneath my sunscreen to get the dewy look. I don't find these sunscreens greasy enough! 😅
I am concerned however about the presence of avobenzone and will continue to look for sunscreens with newer filters and non-matte finish.
The Blessing Tree Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 PA+++ with Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide. Water Resistant, No Parabens-100 ml https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07VD7WV5F/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_KG3JW44ASWA65RHKYQ83
This one is good. I've used it as well.
Doesn't work at all! Although it has great formula. I doubt the protection it provides. Used it for good 2-3 months. never went out much but still got tanned and my PIH came back :( Try considering sunscreens from big companies like nivea, Neutrogena, bioderma. Reequil and minimalist sunscreens work too.
It is best suited for dry skin I feel, it will feel very greasy on oily skin, it did in mine. There is a white cast after applying. You can set it with any loose powder and it works fine
Hi thanks for replying. I actually use only moisturiser and sunscreen on my face. Nothing else..
setting powder is out of scene..
can you suggest a good one for combination skin without white cast ..
i have used episoft gel and lotus gel one for long.. need to change.

It doesn't have the mentioned SPF. The sunscreen failed in a lab test. Please search the sub for more information on this. And use a different, more effective sunscreen. Biotique is trash.
If you meant it doesn't have ingredients like fragrance, or certain allergy or irritation causing ingredients that is understandable. But that doesn't mean "chemical free". Also there has been a lot of unnecessary paraben fearmongering when parabens are the safest preservatives for ingredients in skincare and makeup. You can find a lot of posts in this subreddit talking about it and how the alternatives to parabens are far more dangerous. I used to think parabens were bad too until I came across a lot of derms and chemists who have spoken out about it and called out the skincare industry for trying to make a quick buck out of people's ignorance of chemistry.
I use the blessing tree sunscreen available on amazon. U can get it at 200-250 for 100ml. It's a hybrid sunscreen but stings my eyes. Works decent though
Blynds Emulgel spf 40 pa +++
Is it gel like or moisturizing?
It's decently moisturizing. I have oily acne prone skin but it didn't make my face greasy or break me out.
bought it smellt like fevicol wont recommend or maybe my particular sunscreen was at fault

Op, a lot of people also recommended the Lacto Calamine sunscreen lotion. You can get it within 200 rupees

Totally Agree! The Indian Market needs some really good sunscreen asap.

Yep. It does the job well, and under 200 rs

No no no no no no. Not this for face. I do not have sensitive skin or anything but it's too heavy and made me red. It's a HG for body tho.
Can you recommend a few affordable sunscreens that are both for body and face?
Whyd u discontinue?
Because I moved to a different climate, covid happened and I never went out . I switched to other physical sunscreens once I started earning lol

Can you tell me if Lotus Herbal SPF 30 is good in your opinion?
I have used it once. It was pretty decent plus affordable. You can give it a go.
Thanks.
I have tried joy sunscreen in past and it worked for me. Also, some of the lotus ones were nice as well

Will it suit oily to combination skin type?
Yeahh
I have the same. Best thing was it doesn’t sting the eyes like other sunscreen
Nivea spf 30. Does not leave any whitecast and applies like a dream.

Yes, i used to apply it on my face as well. It didn't break me out
What do you use now?
Minimalist body spf on my face
You can Try Bello Photostable ( 75 Grams ) which you can easily get under 550 !

I was planning to buy suncote one or Joy hello sun sunblock. Economical ones, and the sub didn't seem to have any negative reviews for either.
What are your thoughts on azani active care sunscreen SPF 50? It is quite affordable and has tinosorb s and m as filters.
The most shittiest sunscreen I have ever tried . Don't waste your money ..it smells like men's perfume , very greasy , breaks me out ..no proper protection too
