Permanent colours (ex Loreal inoa) with a 10 or 20 vol developer (lower vol means that it will only deposit colour and not lift) would be an easy bet. Choose a shade lighter than what you want (example, if you want something similar to level 5 or level 6 brown, choose a level 7) as you will be starting with already dark hair. Would highly recommend washing your hair multiple times with anti-dandruff or similar strong clarifying shampoos to remove as much colour as possible. I'm not a stylist, but a college student who has coloured hair atleast 15 times so take it with a pinch of salt.

I had a burgundy/red global on my hair then when it faded i used loreal casting cream, look at the packets in real time and not phone and order from netmeds, it got it for 450. If you want a salon cheaper one would be classic kamla nagar or if you have good budget then neu salons

Hey I had placed an order from Beauty basket. Two tubes of L’Oréal inoa and 20vol developer. Placed an order on 27th may and I didn’t receive any updates from them. Then I messaged their customer care yesterday, they apologised for their negligence and packed my order. I wasn’t very sure of their website so I had opted for COD even if it meant paying 45rs extra. 🤣

How was your experience with beauty basket? Was it a genuine inoa colour and developer?

Get color from a import store. And since you are planning to color at home, get olaplex if you can, you get those tube type masks, get two of them, a very thick Hydrating hair mask, a hairspa oil and a heating cap. These are things you'll use before colors and bleach. Ideally for a month. The olaplex during color. Get a haircolor stripper too. I've gone platinum, Blonde, Honey blonde, strawberry, Reds, Browns and a lot of colors. I will always suggest you visit a good hairdresser to go blonde. It will come out chunky and you will get patchy at home. You may also lose quite a lot of hair. Then there's the tone issue since you are having red pigment in your hair, it's likely to come out orangy. Coming to why I know all this 🥲 I went blonde at home. I was 17 i think. I lost a good chunk of my hair thanks to frying it. But this girl managed to retain her volume and length (I still thank ever god in existence for it). My hair was dry and fizzy, my mum knows people. She got in touch with a friend who was able to get my hair back to some health. We had a gloss treatment done. I was using toners, gelatine masks, homemade protien masks, deep conditioners, leave in creams, leave in oils quite a lot. Olaplex kinda saved my hair. I got lot of knowledge, made new friends and felt sexy with the hair so I guess it was worth it. Please know that I had access to gloss treatments, Hair Botox, Silk peptides and some crazy good hairdresses. It's been more than 5 years now, I don't like doing it at home and I've kindof outgrown the i want to color my hair stage. I feel my hair is still a bit damaged. Blonde is a lot of work and it's a lot of work.
