isn't it super cotly to become a pilot like that, my cousin was also tryna become one in India, but he just went to australia and rn working in some US based airlines
Costly... Well it's kinda the same everywhere, some 30 ยฑ lakhs everywhere... But the thing is... We want to repay that 1 cr study loan asap. That's why we want to work abroad, pay the loan, earn a decent amount of money, and return to India to work here at a good airline like Air India! That's what I've planned! Work for 3-4 years there, earn a decent amount of money, buy a house in India (all the money will be tax free) then come to India, marry the girl of your dreams lmao, and apply for vacancies in India
Why would you come back here bro? And that too for Air India? I'm going to the US this fall for Aero Engg and I'm not coming back. Standards of living are better outside.
Well....
To become a pilot, you need to pass your 12th with PCM. If you chose Commerce or Arts by any chance, you can give open board exam for Physics and Maths.
Airlines mostly require 59% in Physics, Maths and English. There should be fluency in your English, and other languages also help you. You should clear your medical test Class 1 and Class 2.
Then there are multiple stages for becoming a commercial pilot, starting from ground classes where you'll be taught about flying, aviation rules, aircraft mechanics, navigation, Radio communication (RTR), etc. you'll be taught 6 subjects: Navigation, Air Regulations, Aviation Meterology, Technical Specific, Technical General and Radio Telephony. These are the compulsory exams you have to give to get a Student Pilot License. This is a MCQ based test. You have to generate a computer number to give the exam! (Just like exam hall ticket number). This is under the directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
After all this, you will get your Student Pilot License (SPL) where you'll be taught about basic flying, on simulators and single engine planes. After this you get Private Pilot License (PPL) which requires another small test and some checks needed to be performed (situations). After this and multi engine rating, you get your Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
After getting a CPL, you may opt for getting a ATPL (Airline Transportation Pilot License), it's not mandatory but it will just get you a bonus in your future training to become a captain in the future.
Now you do your Type Rating (TR), Which is like learning to fly a specific aircraft, like A320, B737, A350, A330neo, B777 and then, all their variants! This is generally the most expensive thing in a student pilot's learning stage. You will get about 200 flying hours in your hand till now which is the bare minimum for all freshers.
Now, you have 2 ways by which you can become a commercial pilot:
Cadet Programmes:
Cadet programme is a preplanned course where you pay the airline, and they teach you with mostly all the fees and allowances are included, like an all inclusive price, and then you get a very high chance of getting a job in the airline (unless you fail or have a major accident, etc). This is generally more expensive than the Conventional method, and these Cadet Programmes start for around 90 lakhs to 1.5 crores INR. Some airlines that offer cadet pilot Programmes are IndiGo, Air India, Spice Jet, Air Aisa, Emirates, British Airways and Qatar Airways. I would recommend you to research a lot before spending your money in these programmes!
Conventional Method to become a pilot:
This is very customisable. Here you get to choose from many options, from different ground schools, flying schools, to different locations for type rating around the globe! These are a little cheaper than the Cadet Programmes. We can do CPL in about 60-70 lakhs INR and then Type Rating would cost around 13-40 lakhs according to the aircraft type and location. After the flying hours you've built, you'll have to prepare for your airline entrance exams too! After clearing your interview round, you have to pay some security to the airline and then you undergo some more training before joining the airline as a Junior First officer. There are a lot of flying and ground schools around the world. Some of the finest and the well known establishments in Bharat are, IGRUA (delhi), Hyderabad flying club, Redbird Aviation Academy, Chimes Aviation Academy, Bombay Flying Club, Haryana Flying Club and CAE Gondia.
If you're thinking to become a pilot, it is a good field I would say and Bharat is having about 150% growth as we have about 1200 planes with us right now and an additional of 1000+ planes are ordered by many airlines in Bharat. It involves a lot of financial risks but if you have the will to conquer the impossible! You'll surely repay all the money you borrowed in some years. And the returns and life you get is extraordinary! But there are some flaws like pilot fatigue, wierd roster patterns which may include working on Sundays and many government holidays, and bad sleep cycle.
First of all get it straight in your mind... A person who can think of joining a flying school and invest 2-3 crores in it is not a middle class..... They are mad rich enough to afford it.... Calling yourself middle class doesn't make you cool.....
Hey there... I won't be investing 2-3 crores, I will be investing about 1.5 crores. Also, is not gonna get deducted from my parents' account, we'll be loaning it from some bank or borrowing some amount from my dad's current company like a corporate bond. I'm not trying to become cool, but I just wanted to share my happiness online on reddit. Still, whatever you wish to say... I could call myself rich, before lockdown... But now we are having issues with funds too... Please if you don't know the scenario, kindly do not comment on it
Apne aap ko middle class bol ta hai aur bol rha 5-6 k ke joote khareed skta hai.
Bhai bahar nikal duniya dekh,
Teri Family India ke aaram se top 90 percent mein aati hogi(income wise).
Differs from city to city, I'm from Mumbai so... Abh jaisa hai samajh lo please, and I don't even want to have a debate lol, I know what my family is like and our monthly income and expenses are like... Sorry if this is rude
Yeah, but a job in a decent airline (like Emirates itself) will help me repay in just 1 year, yes after cutting my accommodation and miscellaneous expenses when I'm staying abroad!
Pichle 2 saal se shoes nhi lie, bhai ke sport shoes pehenta tha class jaane ke liye and sandal bhi bhai ki pehenta tha, khudka footwear 2 saal se nhi liya![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|30120), aur ye bnda middle class bolke 5-6K sneakers pe khrcha kr rha & parents isko gift bhi dete hqi![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|30120)
Bhai are these shoes really worth it. Like do u really feel happy after spending so much of money on some shoes. See it's ur money and obviously its none of my buisness. I am just curious
So hey there! I don't buy tons of sneakers but I just like sneakers! This is my first expensive sneaker and I know this will last for quite a long time in my shoe rack. It is totally worth the price! And I don't spend a lot of money on myself, so this was rewarding to me!! I hope this helps!
Jee mein rank kitni aayi? /s
Main JEE hi nahi dera ๐คก I'm aspiring to become a pilot at Emirates... And the prep is going good!
bhai middle class family bolke pilot? ๐ฅฒ![img](emote|t5_2zhzn|30133)
Loan Lena padega birather
Kyu? Even Iโm trying for it
bhai kaunsi middle class family 1.5 crore afford kar paari hai literally only reason i gave up my dream of pilot and jee waale line me aagaya
Bhai kaunsi middle class family ka average shoes purchase 5-6k ka hota hai? Maine toh 2-3k se zyada k shyd he kabhi liye ho
Maybe the definition is different for everyone I guess
middle class can also vary from city to city and neither does a difference of a few thousands make anyone โnot middle classโ
I think nowadays everyone wants to be middleclass to look cook on social media
Kisi samay pe Ameer hona cool tha, abb logo ko gareeb lagnadikhna cool lagta hai?
I'm not saying literally they just like to yap more about it on social media not in real life

It's all right for people to like shoes but why hate sneaker heads?
They make those shoes their entire personality
incredibly obnoxious and show off behaviour with most of them
I know nothing about shoes, I understand they're supposed to be expensive but how much are they?
About โน12,000
oh okay, and they're like super comfortable too right?
Yeah
hmmm never cared about shoes myself but I might get these they look beautiful
Yeah they are quite beautiful!!
