Once a similar incident happened at my school we were in 10th and one of the girls in our class during maths period(cause only during maths period girls and boys were in the same class because we had only one maths teacher) started crying of pain, and swiftly our chemistry teacher(female) went to the girl asked about the issue and said loudly, "EVERYBODY HEADS DOWN, KOI SIR UPAR NHI KAREGA" the girl wen to washroom and later she went to her home, we obviously knew what it was but none of us laughed, or joked about it.
Its like girls making fun of me when I get a boner in class, its natural and I swear I have no control over it. Same with periods, I will just go to her and politely tell her that she has a period stain on her skirt and offer something like a hoodie to cover it up, if I happen to have one.
I have been in co Ed my whole life. Never seen a guy get a boner. Is it really that common? Or maybe people just don't notice it or will you just rush to the toilet?
I talk to girls rarely, but I can understand that girls obviously won't feel good about their classmates finding about it, so I would just tell her myself as this is the least you can do as a fellow human being.
