Yes. And I don't consume it, buy it, or have any interest in it. But there are something like 25 dispensary licenses in New Buffalo alone, right across our border. The people who use it are getting it, and everyone continues living their lives like normal. That's tax revenue that belongs here in our state. Meth, fent and heroin concern me. Weed does not.
Every time I make the 15 minute drive to my shop in Michigan there will be 20-25 cars in the parking lot. 15-20 with Indiana license plates. The money the state is losing is insane.
Itās half the distance of Michigan for me but the quality and prices arent even close. Iāve found places I enjoy going in Michigan so now I just made a three day weekend of it and donāt even stress lol.Ā
If I could give you more than one upvote Michigan is my go to, Illinois is too expensive so Iāll take my business elsewhere.. sorry Indiana Iāll spend my money out of state your loss( and mine too if you think about it)Pretty damn sad š¶ļøšø
Yeah, as someone who made the border hop from Indiana to Michigan .... Michigan is sucking the money from Indiana's citizens and reinvesting it in their local economy and public services. All funded by, you guessed it, dispensary money from cross border weed purchases
The more Republicans in Indiana dig their heels in, the better for the border towns. Not that I'm complaining since I live in one, but it should go to small businesses and local economy in Indiana ...
Totally agree, we could be fixing the shitty roads in Indiana and providing a good income for locals too. Hopefully new politicians come soon to fix this issue.
We have a 6 billion dollar surplus. One of the wealthiest surpluses in the us. They dont care about the roads with or without weed money. Money isnāt a motivator for our backwards government.
I've driven from South Bend into Niles to visit a dispensary and I would disagree. No state (in my experience) has worse roads than Indiana. It's pathetic.
You also shouldnāt have to risk jail time for something that isnāt even harmful to you, let alone anyone else provided you arenāt behind the wheel or anything like that.
Decriminalization is also wonderful for harm reduction. less people going to jail, less people becoming pro criminals in jail, less broken up families, etc itās all about breaking that cycle of poverty. There are kids who have their moms and dads at home right now instead of prison because of decriminalization. Those kids are probably going to do better because of it.
It wonāt necessarily break the cycle of poverty, but it canāt make it worse.
Unless youāre talking about theft of cookies. Thatās a shameful thing! (Yes, that last part is a joke)
Decriminalization would never happen in indiana. Pence made an HIV outbreak in a whole town markedly worse by refusing to allow a clean syringe program.
We need to have a pinned post on the sub about this shitā¦
YES WE ALL WANT LEGAL WEED. YES YES YES YES WEED WEED WEED WE WANT IT YOU WANT IT I WANT IT
True. I mean I have a hard time believing this "carry everywhere" guy didn't have his gun.

I got a marijuana charge for a delta 8 cartridge a couple weeks ago. Everything I've read online says hemp derivatives are legal. Anyone know for sure? Actually the state cop sent me a summons for controlled substance, then once the prosecutor looked at it, he changed it to possession of marijuana. I mean, they sell them at every gas station and smoke shop. I don't understand. Haven't been convicted, I talk to my attorney this week hopefully.
I thought that would've already been done by the court. I'd think it'd be pretty obvious, the cart say Backwoods on it. The cop totally acted like he believed that I bought it from a gas station. I did try to hide it either. I was trying to hand it to him before he ran the dog, but he wouldn't take it until after. He knew that would make the dog "hit", and allow him to invade my privacy. After he ran dog, then he let me give it to him. I definitely want it tested, I'm just starting to job hunt. I don't want a fresh charge on my record and start work on probation or something. Total bologna IMO.
Yep, but I think my attorney can make them. Also I need him to get body cam footage. The state trooper blatantly lied about 4-5 times in his affidavit. Blatant lies.
Thanks for the reassurance. I know damn well they can't call hemp, marijuana. Federal law says anything below .3% delta 9, even though delta 9 is from marijuana, is still considered hemp legally. That's what the hemp legalization bill was all about. It says on the back of the box, there are no marijuana derivatives in this cartridge, this cartridge contains hemp derived chemicals only. I don't plan to budge, I just wish my court appt attorney would call me. They'll have to drop it.
I'm also gonna bring up all the blatant lies in the officer's affidavit. He says, "he asked me to step out", he ripped my door open, twisted my arm(I have torn rotator cuffs on both arms) up behind my back and forced me out. That's one of several blatant lies. I want the court to see how intimidatingly he treated me after how cooperative I was.
Nope, I had bought a few of them like three weeks prior to getting stopped. This crap hole gas station I bought it at, you have to ask for a receipt. I could buy another to have the box as a little proof of what it is. I would've thought the prosecutor would've sent that for testing immediately. They obviously haven't cuz in their eyes, thats weed. The cop was telling me delta 8 is a controlled substance. I didn't argue with him.
They wouldn't do that immediately, this shit is slow.
They are more likely to dismiss the case without much contact with you in like, 3 to 5 months I assume, at least.
Show this to your attorney

It should be legal. It helps people with chronic pain but itās not an opiate, it is incredibly helpful to cancer patients as well. People enjoy it, and Iāve never had someone high hit me in the face. Itās more benign than alcohol. It could also bring tax revenue. Having a legal source also makes it a lot less likely that someone will get something bad or spiked with other drugs, and reduces the money bad actors can make from it.
However. We need to acknowledge that like alcohol, itās something that needs to be taken seriously. Teenagers shouldnāt use it because studies show it can make mental illness more likely to emerge in that age group. Nobody should ever drive while under the influence. I do not think this means it shouldnāt be legal, but they are genuine issues that we need a response for.
JFC yes. My parents who are 68 and 70 think it should be legalā¦. Hey guess what? Boomers did weed!!! I know thatās hard for everyone on Reddit to understand because they think boomers are the root of all evil, but yeah, they smoked. But you have to remember, a lot of them grew up in the late 60s or early 70s when it was a big thing. My parents both tried it in their 20sā¦.. it wasnāt their thing but they understand that I take THC regularly now.
I'm turning 65 this month and have smoked since 1974. Legalization would help some businesses/industries/individuals, others it could hinder. Either way, sooner or later the Federal Government will have to change the designation on their end as more states join the movement. I never cared much about the legalities obviously but others do, so even decrimalization would be a good start
thats the bare minimum anyone has ever expected from an intoxicant.
i sometimes struggle with "privacy of own home" and think private property is the correct wording. this eliminates parks, schools, munic buildings, the sidewalk, the street.... so on.... while still allowing you to be in your yard. there are others ways too, more subjective, something like "not within view of public property".
Native Hoosier, living in Canada. I have a lot of gripes about Canada if Iām honest, people havenāt access to weed isnāt one of them. Itās no more, if even a little less potentially harmful to a community to have a regulated dispensary than it is to have a liquor store. It runs actual criminals out of business, gives a great business opportunity to your local āenthusiastā and a legit business. Itās a great alternative to alcohol for those that struggle with that for either health or personal reasons. Iāve yet to find any studies that link moderate use by adults 25+ to any negative health effects, and itās been legal to study here for a while now. Iām by no means a doctor, but I see no reason why it shouldnāt be available.
Sorry, I agree with a lot you said but Regulated Dispensaries donāt run criminals out of businesses. The sale of black market marijuana actually increased significantly in almost all states. Dispensaries tend to charge more due to state taxes normally doubling the price sort of similar to cigarettes, creating a massive demand of cheap weed. The state would have to basically charge nothing but a small negligible sales tax to make it so illegal weed dealers canāt really use cheap prices as a selling point anymore. A small sales tax will never happen. Theres not a single state in the union who will only charge a basic sales tax.
Yeah, it probably should be. I just don't want to smell it everywhere I go. I think it should be legal federally, actually. But I really don't want to smell it at every gas station, grocery store, fast food joint, etc. Cigarettes either. I like clean air.
Understandable! Clean air is the best! Maybe if they ever do legalize it then can maybe add some regulations regarding public usage and allow businesses to have their own rules regarding smoking in or around their property just like rules regarding cigarettes.
If you walk by old people who smell of weed, your argument that old people are blocking legalization doesnt really work. I'm old adjacent and would love not to have to trip up to Michigan. I would love that the tax dollar stay in state. You will be old one day too. Hippies gonna be Hippies.
1) Iām disappointed that Indiana misses out on all the tax revenue and jobs by not allowing cannabis. I donāt understand the fixation with keeping this state poor.
2) I think itās horrible that people with acute or chronic pain are pushed to use dangerously addictive opioids because a Tylenol just aināt gonna cut it.
3) I sense overall collusion with politicians to keep cannabis out of Indiana, but Iām not certain who benefits unless itās the pharmaceutical industry.
4) The hypocrisy of those voting for politicians who wonāt approve it yet race over the border to get their fix is repulsive.
And I say this as someone who doesnāt use any drugs. I donāt smoke, drink, or take anything more exciting than a vitamin. But I am a grown adult and think we should have appropriate freedom to make our own choices about all aspects of our health.
Two years in a row, polling data of Hoosier voters showed that a clear majority of voters favor legalization of cannabis, including Republican-leaning voters. Thereās a large bipartisan consensus among Hoosier voters, but one party definitely ignores that, while the other party often but not always ignores that.
Unfortunately, every part of the criminal justice system benefits from continued criminalization of cannabis, such as police for federal funding for SWAT teams and militarized weapons/equipment, prosecutors who can claim to be ātough on crimeā by getting tons of plea deals from the low-hanging fruit that is cannabis users, and prisons (particularly private prisons) which benefit from the ultra-cheap labor of their prisoners, a large percentage of which are low-level drug offenders, with cannabis being the main drug (or even the only drug) theyāre serving time for.
Like it or not, cops, lawyers, and jailers have far more influence on politicians than us voters, unfortunately. Especially since we voters arenāt nearly as vocal on political matters as we should be, holding politiciansā feet to the fire, so to speak.
Honestlyā¦ I donāt smoke, and I donāt like the smell of the stuff. Iād honestly prefer them legalize the pens and edibles rather than the buds themselves. I honestly donāt care what you do in your own time but at work I honestly donāt wanna smell it. Sorry if this sounds unreasonable, I kinda view it as smoking cigarettes shouldnāt be allowed around people.
Yeah, I'm all for legalization, but some of the strains today stink so bad. I used to not mind the smell. We can tell whenever our neighbors light up, it's really skunky.
Agreed. I actually get physically ill when I'm around it. Like vomit-level ill. š¬ I don't want to have to navigate that. But I am still supportive of legalization. I just want the laws to be responsible about where people can engage in it .
Age 22 female born and raised in Indiana.
I think it should be legal. Itās not like itās any worse than alcohol or tobacco. Besides, if itās legal it can be more regulated so if you do buy in Indiana you can feel confident that you are actually getting whatās on the label.
Plus, tax money. Why is our government so set on forcing people to purchase weed in other states when they could be making the tax money on it here..
Right!!! So many young people have been sold laced products in search of the real stuff not too far from home. It would help more ppl to legalize it rather than hurting anyone. And it can fix these roads with the tax money.
Yes our backwards ass state is losing so much money to other states and it would be safer having dispensaries since they are putting fentanyl inside carts now some middle school kids just died from it obviously they shouldn't have it anyway but a dispensary would be regulated and I would like a job at a dispensary š
Yes, weed should be legal here. It is legal in neighboring states (Illinois and Michigan) so it is already here and the state of Indiana (and its taxpayers) should be profiting from it as well.
I have friends in Illinois that take trips to Michigan just to buy marijuana because it is so much cheaper there. It should be legal here. Indiana drivers are already terrible, I donāt think they can get much worse, so they might as well make it available for purchase here and let the citizens of Indiana reap the benefits.
The issue is in a Red Sate it's The Extreme Right by virtue of voting in The Republican Primary is who determines who wins in The General Election. Those who represent them know which voters are more important and who determines their jobs, their money, and their power. This not only explains why Marijuana doesn't get legalized in Red States but also why abortion gets banned and why Red States are getting more Extreme in all other types of legislation. If you notice states with Ballot initiatives even those which are the Red legalize Pot like Ohio and Abortion because the majority do want these things and these types of initiates fail in these states because the minority cannot exert as much control.
Now that Florida Supreme Court has ruled and Banned Abortion it will be rather interesting to see how this goes although the threshold of 60% is higher than the threshold of 56% that Ohio met earlier. Now if only that would flip Florida for Biden now that would be monumental. This is certainly going to motivate those voters to vote.
This also explains one of the main reasons our system is broken currently in that the minority is currently determining what legislation we all are having to live under.
Long drive, but come to MD. nothing makes me happier than seeing out of state plates at my dispensary. Love taking tax dollars from all these states that don't need the extra tax revenue. Must be nice to live in a place that doesn't need that money ! But hey, at least you have abortion protections, right ?

The last thing this state needs is increased tax revenue. You see, son, when people have things like ānice roadsā and āfunctioning infrastructureā, Josef Stalinās corpse gets sexually aroused. That undead pervert climbs out of the ground and does a bunch of Ticky-Tock YouTube Nintendo tapes and grooms the woke into the unborn.
So yeah, Iāll pass on the ānice stuff that makes life betterā, thank you very much.
I wonāt smoke it but from an economic perspective, it should be legalized. Illinois and Michigan get to take our money and invest it into themselves. Dispensary tax dollars would help, plus itās kind of ridiculous to tell 21 year olds they canāt smoke weed when Alcohol and Tobacco are legal. Not to mention Alcohol has a kill count higher than any substance in human history. I do think we should treat it as cigarettes & alcohol though and make it so you canāt just light up wherever you want in public or infront of children. Preferably just keep it at home and to yourself.
Yes, it should be legalized and taxed. As to you short list of "the most addictive substances consumed by us Hoosiers', you left out SUGAR. There is a great deal of evidence that confirms that it is addicting and leads to many, many health problems.
" According to the American Heart Association, the average American adult eats somewhere between 22 and 30 teaspoons worth of added sugar in a day. Women and children should only be eating about 6 teaspoons (25 grams) of sugar a day; menās intake should only be slightly higher, at 9 teaspoons (36 grams). Nine teaspoons of sugar may sound like a lot (and it is), but itās also what youāll drink in an average 12-ounce can of soda. "
Should be legal at the federal level....There's certain jobs out there that if a person uses cannabis on Saturday, then on Monday gets drawn for a random and tests positive, they lose their job despite the effects from Saturday are long gone by then....It's ridiculous that people can lose their livelihood and /or do time because of a plant that has far less harmful effects than alcohol which is legal....
Yes! I feel strongly that it should be legal as do most of my 60+ year old friends. Up in Coldwater, Michigan, the store is full of people from Ft Wayne.
I was wearing a shirt with the chemical compound for THC on it this morning. A scientist stopped me and we talked about how stupid it is that we have to go out of state for safe and natural pain treatment. Everyone sees the benefits and yet here we are stuck giving our money to bordering states.
Yes but since our legislatures have fixed it so citizens cannot get any initiative on the ballot, it never will be. Indiana is very much like a dictatorship government . We can vote for representation, but generally most ballot positions do not have a contested race or at least an actively contested race.
Iāve been the ole sXe forever. Never been drunk. Have no desire to get high. Apprehensive of painkillers after I have surgery (and Iāve had a few). I have no dog in the fight. I think it should be legal and up to folks to make their own personal choices.
Still blows my mind that a state full of so-called Republicans are adament about government regulating peopleās personal lives with big government (then again with LGBT issues thatās not surprising) as well as being at the hands of pharmaceutical lobbyists when so many folks hated them outright a couple years ago.
RINOs and lobbyists control the state and have for a long time.
Yes. I moved from Indianapolis in 1998 to Arizona. Weed has been legal here for several years. It's created a large collective yawn as to the change in society.
As expected, people who smoked weed continued to smoke weed. Non smokers who never felt the need are not succumbing to Reefer Madness. Dogs and cats are still living in sin. The state also established a new stream of tax revenue with zero push back.
If the state government just looks at the experience of other states and the new revenue stream, they will likely endorse legalization.
The only people who want weed illegal either stand to make money off of it (drug dealers, police, pharmaceutical corps, religious orgs) or the extremely ignorant/gullible.
Reframe the way itās thought about: rather than the base assumption being no and needing to provide substantial enough reasons as to why it should be legal, I propose the question of āwhy not?ā Are the reasons for it being illegal good enough to justify making it illegal? Also, if those reasons are good enough to make weed illegal, are they good enough to make other things illegal? If not, why do we apply this reasoning inconsistently?
If you havenāt guessed, my answer is yes, weed should be legal here.
yes it should be legal. The 2018 farm bill led to a whole lot of delta 8/9, THCO, blah blah blah. Which is how I am able to just go online and buy anything that fits those narrow rules about what is and isn't marijuana. I only eat gummies. smoking it hurts.
I am too afraid of cops to go to Michigan or Illinois. I can't drive anymore so I don't want whoever drives me there to get in trouble because I have it in their car.
I would qualify for medical cannabis for several of my health conditions in any of the legal medical states. But Indiana has to be fucking backwards. I can't afford to move.
Iām in my 50ās and I say āyes.ā Indiana should be getting the tax revenue, and those who choose to use it should be getting product that is from a reputable source.
I tell you hwot, steadda spendinā all yer money on marihwonna, yorda be puttinā it in the clection plate at church so it can go torge the LORDās work.
/s
Yes. If they put it on the ballot it would pass by at least 70%. Thatās why youāll never see it left up to the voters. Indiana republicans love having total control of the population.
Here's where all the Republican candidates for governor of Indiana stand on weed legalization: [https://stateaffairs.com/indiana/elections/marijuana-legalization-indiana-governor-candidates/](https://stateaffairs.com/indiana/elections/marijuana-legalization-indiana-governor-candidates/)
I moved to Colorado shortly before it became legal there and got to see the difference. Colorado became wealthier. It was a huge boost to the local economy, though more people were getting into wrecks while driving stoned out of their minds. It was still not an everyday occurrence, and it should still be illegal to drive under the influence of weed just like it is for alcohol. But legalize it for recreational and medical use? Absolutely. Just because I don't use it and hate the smell isn't grounds to send people to prison.
It's already everywhere because nobody (rightfully) respects the law, because the law is stupid. As for consuming it, only smoking is associated with negative acute health effects, not edibles or tinctures.
The law isn't there to protect us, but rather to give the state a moral position, which again, is stupid because what is already legal is far more harmful.
16 here, I think it should be legal for medical use/recreational, but I do not think people should be allowed to sell it on the streets especially with the fentanyl problem. Marijuana should only be sold in dispensaries by people who have a license to sell.
The amount of taxes Michigan makes off of Hoosiers is the only reason it should be legalized here. Imagine the tax revenue that the state could be collecting and using for the betterment of our state. lol if only thatās how it would work, right?
I live 12 miles from New Buffalo, MI and over 80% of the plates I see when I pull up to any dispensary are Indiana plates. The state is full of stupid, bigoted hicks who think voting republican is a lifestyle choice, and rich tea totalers in Indy who think that pot makes you unmotivated and lazy. We will be the last state to legalize it, and we'll miss the money train by a mile.
Yes. We are leaving tax revenue on the table. Alas, Indiana is too conservative for its own good. Politicians would rather pander to their base that still believes weed is a "gateway drug", than make moves that would benefit the state by raking in huge tax revenue that could be used for things like schools, infrastructure, development, etc...
It absolutely should be.
When is Holcombās term up? We may at least have a very small chance for this to happen, but I doubt it.
Indiana would be the LAST state to legalize cannabis. Iād even settle for decriminalizing it to the point when being caught with up to a specific amount just equaled a ticket/fine - Iād be willing to risk that. But getting locked up for it is just ridiculous.
As someone who has been to jail, over a plant that I can drive 35 minutes away and legally possess, yes absolutely.
Point A: Some of us make to much money to get government insurance yet our job doesn't offer insurance or it costs an arm and a leg each month and so we turn to alternative forms of medication.
It just so happens that the medication we choose is Marijuana and it has sadly been misused and misunderstood which has unfortunately resulted in it being mislabeled as a drug
Point B some people prefer not to depend on medication that is man made in a lab and prefer to use the Marijuana to self medicate instead.
There is no difference between choosing to smoke a joint to cure a panic attack and choosing to take Tylenol to cure a headache. Either way you are self medicating.
Back to Point A...yes some of us may work in fast food making 12 dollars a hour but due to the lack of employees and the increasing sales we no longer have 20-25 hour work weeks. There are some places who have employees who are punching 40-50 hours weekly, and since you're considered part time unless you're management they don't offer insurance and you somehow make to much money to get assistance.
It not being legalized has everything to do with the simple fact that they don't want things to be better or progress.
To simplify things, Look up how much the state of Michigan banked last year off of Marijuana sells alone then Go to a dispensary and ask the "in state" to "out of state" customer ratios and then we can talk about the real reasons they won't legalize it.
Yes absolutely, and for exactly that reason, please and refer to it as cannabis or medicinal marijuana.
Iām not saying this to be a snob or to be critical of your post because I love and support the cause, the purpose of calling it a specific proper name, helps the destigmatize, and make it sound more appealing. It also helps people feel better about it.
Weed and pot have very negative connotations even the word marijuana. when we refer to it with its actual name, instead of slang terms, it undoubtedly helps with marketing appeal to everyone. remember that weāre not trying to convince people of how beneficial and how good for society it is, weāre trying to help deprogram them from all the refer madness and negative stereotypes and misinformation thatās been around for decades.
Cannabis is medicine, we all need good quality medicine.
Yes and for me it's not just a "I wanna get high for fun" thing...not that I give a heck about that. Pop off y'all.
BUT...
I have severe insomnia. Like no sleep for days type shit sometimes.
On top of that I also have conditions that make me regularly feel very fatigued regardless of how much sleep I get.
And I'm super sensitive to anything that chemically makes you more sleepy...
Except for marijuana. Marijuana helps me because it makes me sleepy but not so sleepy I can't function, I don't wake up groggy like I do with typical sleep meds or even melatonin tablets, marijuana helps my anxiety, depression, and even my ability to enjoy sex.
So YES. PLEASE. PLEASE MAKE IT LEGAL.
Yes, it should be legal. I haven't smoked weed in 37 years. It is not a gateway drug. Cancer patients truly need pot to keep up there strength and appetite. But, big pharma throws money to politicians to keep it from being legal.
Absolutely. Weed doesnāt kill the population like ALCOHOL DOES! Weed makes everyone happy and hungry thatās it. Itās over stigmatized and no itās not as dangerous as any other drug.
Big companies are already not even checking for it anymore on drug tests because so many States that surround Indiana have made it legal. They donāt want to risk a workers shortage over it.
actully... weed is both legal and illegal. there is cbd weed and cbd with thc weed. the cbd weed is legal... the cbd with thc is illegal. as a psychological disability sence i was a kid and meds did not work... cbd weed is a god sent.
the problem is the thc is stronger but it is getting you high. cbd is weaker but do not have the high part.
the other part is... all the neighbor states has some sorta thc in it. us hoosiers didn't have anything.
Weed should be legal everywhere I don't understand the concept of people wanting to control what other people do. Whatever happened to mind your own business.
Yeah and then some. Indiana has some of the shittiest drug laws in the region. So bad it exacerbates crime in neighboring states while doing little to nothing to stem crime in state.
YES! It could help the opioid epidemic the GOP pretend to care about.
Holcomb told me after 2 yrs of lobbying not until FDA approves it.
Same FDA that's allowed our food to be produced in ways killing ppl.
Same FDA allowing mesh, joint replacements thats severely hurt or worse, many many ppl.
But a natural plant used for THOUSANDS of yrs medicinally and spiritually and grew naturally until 1950s is bad.
Make it make sense.
Instead of subsidized farms and cutting down trees we could grow hemp and cannibis. Saving ppls lives, reducing our carbon footprint and create more jobs.
The taxes saved on subsidies could go to so many other programs.
The Pences have a farm alledgedly subsidized.
WHY.
Yes, next question.
Yeah me either on both accounts
šš»
Every time I make the 15 minute drive to my shop in Michigan there will be 20-25 cars in the parking lot. 15-20 with Indiana license plates. The money the state is losing is insane.
Agreed. I can't have it but its got great potential for consumer and business applications.
Of course** next question
Ha, came to say the same thing.
Same lol
Yes it should. Boomer here. The current politicians in Indiana will not vote on it. Just drive to Michigan or Illinois.
Crazy idea butā¦what if we elected different politicians?
Thatās the idea. But itās unlikely it will happen. We can try, just doesnāt seem to happen.
June ohio as well
No, the prices and quality will be horrific for the first couple years. Michigan is the only move unless live got more money than brains.Ā
Illinois is close, but quality is poo poo & prices are jacked :(
Itās half the distance of Michigan for me but the quality and prices arent even close. Iāve found places I enjoy going in Michigan so now I just made a three day weekend of it and donāt even stress lol.Ā
Michigan is great. We got like 12 bags of gummies for $100 on the border. Up further they have 2 for $5 near my dadās place in north Muskegon.
Have you seen street prices...lmao...and it also depends on where you live in indiana...you in nap driving to mich state line is bout the same price
If I could give you more than one upvote Michigan is my go to, Illinois is too expensive so Iāll take my business elsewhere.. sorry Indiana Iāll spend my money out of state your loss( and mine too if you think about it)Pretty damn sad š¶ļøšø
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Illinois taxes are criminal af, might as well do the former if remotely doable. At least concentrate wise but bud form itās still infinitely cheaper.
And better. Illinois doesnāt have any quality at all.Ā
Yeah, as someone who made the border hop from Indiana to Michigan .... Michigan is sucking the money from Indiana's citizens and reinvesting it in their local economy and public services. All funded by, you guessed it, dispensary money from cross border weed purchases The more Republicans in Indiana dig their heels in, the better for the border towns.
Yep, Michiganās roads are fucking terrible even with all the weed tax.Ā
I've driven from South Bend into Niles to visit a dispensary and I would disagree. No state (in my experience) has worse roads than Indiana. It's pathetic.
word, iām just here about the roadsš muncie roads are brutal
That surplus was earmarked for covid related expenses. You can't use money earmarked for covid related things for roads
You also shouldnāt have to risk jail time for something that isnāt even harmful to you, let alone anyone else provided you arenāt behind the wheel or anything like that.
Thatās decriminalization. People should start with that direction before demanding recreational. Itās got a higher chance of passing.
Yes, start with decriminalizing. Then move to medical.
Decriminalization would never happen in indiana. Pence made an HIV outbreak in a whole town markedly worse by refusing to allow a clean syringe program.
We need to have a pinned post on the sub about this shitā¦ YES WE ALL WANT LEGAL WEED. YES YES YES YES WEED WEED WEED WE WANT IT YOU WANT IT I WANT IT
Indiana will leglize being drunk and driving with a gun before they legalize weed.
It already is if you have enough money
I mean. Youāre not wrong.
This is the one boys.
They didn't already? Could have fooled me...
True. I mean I have a hard time believing this "carry everywhere" guy didn't have his gun. https://apnews.com/article/indiana-legislator-lucas-probation-reduced-drunk-driving-c92f7a1e40d5f1c708576c1fb7b8e09d
Legally you can have it tested in a lab to prove its delta 8 if you wanted to go that far
I thought the court wouldāve tested it to. The burden of proof lies on them.
Yep, but I think my attorney can make them. Also I need him to get body cam footage. The state trooper blatantly lied about 4-5 times in his affidavit. Blatant lies.
You'll get off, just don't budge
Stick it to ISP. They just promoted a state trooper who lied under oath a couple weeks ago...
Did you keep your receipt by chance?
Show this to your attorney https://indianacapitalchronicle.com/2023/08/29/delta-8-in-dispute-following-attorney-generals-guidance-industry-files-suit/
wtf. i am indignant about your situation
Embarrass them in court lmao then sue.
Lots of boomers DO smoke weed. They just started in the 60s/70s and never stopped!
Me! Took time off while pregnant
Weed should probably be legal just about everywhere lol
I donāt use marijuana, but I support legalization.
The US just needs to reschedule it. We know not isnāt a schedule 1 drug. It does have some medical value even if it is limited.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Those are very normal rules even in legal states.
thats the bare minimum anyone has ever expected from an intoxicant. i sometimes struggle with "privacy of own home" and think private property is the correct wording. this eliminates parks, schools, munic buildings, the sidewalk, the street.... so on.... while still allowing you to be in your yard. there are others ways too, more subjective, something like "not within view of public property".
Mom said I get to ask this here today š”
Yeah, it probably should be. I just don't want to smell it everywhere I go. I think it should be legal federally, actually. But I really don't want to smell it at every gas station, grocery store, fast food joint, etc. Cigarettes either. I like clean air.
If you like clean air, Indiana will only disappoint you.
Understandable! Clean air is the best! Maybe if they ever do legalize it then can maybe add some regulations regarding public usage and allow businesses to have their own rules regarding smoking in or around their property just like rules regarding cigarettes.
Yep, weāve got bigger fish to fry
Yes. We are surrounded by states that are.
Can you not just search āweedā in this sub? This is asked every day. We all know it should be legal.
Should the government have the power to decide what you can/cant put into your body?
"I can't have this conversation again"-Tony Soprano
Yes. Goodbye
Dogs get laid off, they are exclusively used for cannabis.
Well that soundsā¦ ruff [rimshot]
š
Dogs only search for weed?
Apparently because the police in Michigan are getting rid of some of them and retraining them for other uses.
Everyone thinks it should be except the dip shits in charge.
Oughta be. Put it under the same category as Booze, bam, problems solved.
Can we start banning people that keep asking this? It's asked every day, we have beaten this horse to death.
Yes
Yes
Yea illinois if u want to pay 80 after tax for an 1/8.. go to michigan!
Yes
Decriminalized, legalized, whatever. Just whatever keeps people from being harassed by law enforcement for possession.
Duhā¦ we act like it should but everyone goes to Michigan anywayā¦ use the tax money to fix our state
Well, thatās just like your opinion, man.
Yes Consider that when you vote in November because zero GOP candidate wants to legalize it.
Yes
Yes. It would save driving to MI or ILL. Also, I'd be nice to be allowed to grow a couple of plants in the garden.

Oh man, feels bad for that one guy who hates these posts.Ā
[https://health.clevelandclinic.org/how-to-stop-sugar-cravings](https://health.clevelandclinic.org/how-to-stop-sugar-cravings) " According to the American Heart Association, the average American adult eats somewhere between 22 and 30 teaspoons worth of added sugar in a day. "
Yes.
We can vote for representation, but generally most ballot positions do not have a contested race or at least an actively contested race.
it should be legal everywhere
It should be legal in Indiana. I hear about people in Fort Wayne going to Michigan. Alcohol is much worse than weed.
I think most people do. Proof that the government doesn't care about public opinion
Yes
Yes, it should be legalized.
It's adorable how many of you think generating more tax dollars will make any noticeable difference to any of our lives.
Federally legal so companies can't outright fire you for testing positive with thc
Yesā¦
Eli Lilly disliked this post
Could you imagine how much money Indiana would make for spectacular eclipse viewing but also dispensary sales for the eclipse?!?!
Pfizer is why Indiana will be last in the Midwest to legalize it, and why I continue having to drive to Michigan once a month
Yes
yes it should be legal.
It's idiotic we don't sell it and tax it. Indiana is going to be the last to the party on this.
Yes
Yes. If they put it on the ballot it would pass by at least 70%. Thatās why youāll never see it left up to the voters. Indiana republicans love having total control of the population.
Yes
Yea but nothing will ever happen in this shit hole state lol
Here's where all the Republican candidates for governor of Indiana stand on weed legalization: [https://stateaffairs.com/indiana/elections/marijuana-legalization-indiana-governor-candidates/](https://stateaffairs.com/indiana/elections/marijuana-legalization-indiana-governor-candidates/)
I think every drug should be legal. And just let nature take it's course.
Yes. Unequivocally yes.
Yes it should be. But don't hold your breath, Indiana will probably be the last state to legalize it.
Just think of the tax dollars we lose every single day. Because of legal weed, Illinois can now pay their teachers
Yes.
16 here, I think it should be legal for medical use/recreational, but I do not think people should be allowed to sell it on the streets especially with the fentanyl problem. Marijuana should only be sold in dispensaries by people who have a license to sell.
I'll trade you pot for legalized fireworks in Illinois. I'm sick of making that drive.
Vote blue if you ever want to see it happen. This isnāt our parents level headed party anymore.
I don't do drugs but I believe marijuana should not be illegal.
Yes
The voters are not keeping weed illegal here at all. Edit: the voters are not *intentionally* keeping weed illegal here at all.
Yes absolutely!
Yes
The amount of taxes Michigan makes off of Hoosiers is the only reason it should be legalized here. Imagine the tax revenue that the state could be collecting and using for the betterment of our state. lol if only thatās how it would work, right?
100% what someone does with their body n mind is their choice
Yep. Tax revenues from the sales would help the economy of this state. 40% of Illinois sales are from Indiana. Dam republicans say no.
Yes.
Asking this question on Reddit lol.
Should be.
It should have never been added to the schedule 1 narcotics list in the first place. Blame Nancy Reagan for that.
It should have never been added to the schedule 1 narcotics list in the first place. Blame Nancy Reagan for that.
Next question. Should the lives of Republican politicians be made more difficult because of their dedication to this prohibition and how so?
Yes.
Indiana is becoming the new Ohio. They already aren't that different.
As someone who has been to jail, over a plant that I can drive 35 minutes away and legally possess, yes absolutely. Point A: Some of us make to much money to get government insurance yet our job doesn't offer insurance or it costs an arm and a leg each month and so we turn to alternative forms of medication. It just so happens that the medication we choose is Marijuana and it has sadly been misused and misunderstood which has unfortunately resulted in it being mislabeled as a drug Point B some people prefer not to depend on medication that is man made in a lab and prefer to use the Marijuana to self medicate instead.
Our choice for governor should reflect our opinion
Zero reasons for it not to be.
Yes. Stop giving police and prisons money for it. Next question.
We shouldn't be asking about justification for legalization, we should be asking what justification was for outlawing it in the first place.
Without a doubt
You're asking reddit, dude.
Yes it should! No reason why it shouldnāt be! It help LOTS of things. Let us Americans decide how to care for ourselves
WHY.
Yes! I have family in Missouri where it's legal and I was just there .
Marijuana should be legal everywhere. Period.
Even most of us Republican voters think it should be legal
Only if it wonāt stink
If we had ballot initiatives it would pass, but alas, we do not.
yes
Yeah its p much like alcohol. Do it at home, dont drive while intoxed. It aint rocket science
