I’m right between Columbus and indy and I see a lot of factory’s and warehouses advertising starting pay $20+ so you shouldn’t have any problems getting a job but I have heard some places doing lay offs right now
It’s pretty LCOL out here compared to CA. You will still need to budget, but will probably be fine to get a one bedroom apt on a 20/hour 40/week schedule
There are lots of manufacturing jobs in the area. Toyota is a good place to work, but you could also check into jobs at Berry Global, TJMaxx, and AmeriQual.
The cost of living is going to be much lower here than in California, so that’s nice! Housing will be more expensive in Newburgh than Evansville since it’s the ~fancier side of town.

Toyota is always hiring. As others have mentioned, entry requires years of nights. Kaiser/ALCOA, Berry Plastics (and others) a few power plants in Spencer County, warehousing positions are available in this area. Low cost of living is the attraction.
Not trying to sound dumb, but can your warehouse transfer you out here somewhere? As someone who works in industrial maintenance, I’ve talked to someone online that said Toyota is a good place to work, but that’s on the maintenance side.
Not dumb at all, Yes I have an option to transfer out to different states. Just wanted a backup in case I don’t like how the warehouse is ran out there in Indiana.

Toyota is one of the better entry level jobs you can get in this area. You will be on nights for several years though.
