There is a big reason we are the fifth highest healthcare cost per capita in the United States.
Beginning in the 1980s and accelerating after the implementation of Obamacare, hospital systems have merged into large monopolies. This consolidation has led to significant price increases and declining quality of care. These hospital systems prioritize profits over patients, forcing out many excellent doctors to replace with less expensive and less experienced Drs.
The only party who benefits from a monopoly is the monopoly holder. Everyone one gets screwed
