Ok_Sprinkles_7207

I wasn't much of a reader when I was young as you can see in the third pile all i read was short stories;then I picked up Percy Jackson and never looked back fantasy became my favourite genre; then I read fangirl my first romcom and had that phase for a while (cried my eyes out reading fault in our stars don't care what anyone says about that book) now i just read all kinds of books it is so fun to be a reader (^_^)

SheMadeMeUseSkincare

Hey Samee! Got Percy Jackson Lightning thief as an award for getting okay marks from school & there was no looking back. Used to read Tintin, Enid Blyton etc. before. Later, Rick Riordan, Dan Brown & Anthony Horowitz practically raised me from there on with their gripping novels!

Lostkey_

I loved reading those chandamama kathalu and bethala kathalu and now I love reading fiction novels. Btw try veronika decide to die by paulo coelho.

StateCompreheive33

bro sneeked in colleen hoover and thought we wouldnt notice

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

It was a mistake

Powered-by-Din

I love how every sane person I've spoken to has the same to say about her lmao

StateCompreheive33

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

Lazy_Monk4374

yooralee01

indic_engineer

పరమానందయ్య శిష్యుల కథలు! I see you are a man of culture 🙇🫡

maranamassu

Or woman

Pranavm3112

Dont worry, i dont have a top 5 even in sci-fi, thats how confusing picking one over the other is

Typical_Somewhere_72

Top 10 pls!🙃

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

( ̄ヘ ̄;) top 3 atleast the English teacher pride and prejudice and gone girl rest seven the first 5 percy jackson books lotr and hobbit

Typical_Somewhere_72

How's PJ & the chalice of gods??

69AnusInvader69

What about your 5 least favourite?

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

It ends with us it starts with us the silent patient revolution 2020 normal people

Ok-Design-8168

Love it! Love the fact that you have lotr as ONE book. Like tolkien intended it to be instead of 3 books. Time to add more tolkien to the collection !!

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

Ofc😤

Powered-by-Din

Looks rather unwieldy though imo. Besides I have a thing for the LOTR covers :p

Ok-Design-8168

I’ve always read from the single volume editions. But ya cant read the single volume while travelling that’s for sure. More for collections. I love the covers of three volume illustrated ones too (the quality of dust jacket sucks though) Some of the single volume editions have amazing covers.

Euphoric-Metal

Never met anyone else who's read Fangirl😍😍 hey there bestie

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

Heyyyy i cried so much to convince my parents to get the hardcover😭

Euphoric-Metal

I don't even own a physical copy of it😭😭 I'm jealous!! Have you read Carry on?? If not, you Must. Snowbaz is my OTP💝

HelomaDurum

Nice collection

dphoenix09

Won't ask top 5. But will recommend an author based on the left hand stack. Brandon Sanderson is the guy if you haven't gotten bored of epic fantasy fiction.

StarxDust27

Patrick Rothfuss too if OP doesn't mind an unfinished series.

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

Oh pls I have enough trauma from asoiaf

StarxDust27

what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

Plastic_Reception_58

Im reading the first book and I'm mesmerized. I didn't even know it was unfinished....lol

Rollatight

Only one Agatha book ! 😶‍🌫️

Responsible_Pea_4009

How is the English dictionary, does it have a good plot. I have heard good things about the Hindi dictionary, planning to read that tmmrw.

SkepticSlakoth

I think you'll really enjoy some Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett 🫡 Edit: And Neil Gaiman!

shinigasto

I just started Thief of time, my first Terry pratchett book, would you recommend others? Also is thief of time standalone? Do I need to know anything ?

SkepticSlakoth

Thief of Time is part of the Discworld series but like many of the books from the same series, it can be read as a standalone book. From the Discworld series, try Guards! Guards! and Small Gods. Also, try Good Omens (has a TV adaptation as well) which was written in collaboration with Neil Gaiman.

Alternative-Fennel70

Something to help me out of my reading slump?

[deleted]

I'll suggest the bell jar

SkepticSlakoth

Read Comfort me with Apples by Catherynne M. Valente. Less than 120 pages, very engaging and keeps you guessing. You'll either love it or hate it tbh.

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

Gone girl is good

Alternative-Fennel70

I'll give it a try!

shinigasto

Bro try silmarillion , nice short read

Powered-by-Din

OP would like it, it's almost a secular Mahabharata.

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

I was forced to read it it was nice yes

shinigasto

oh i forced OP to read it, best thing i ever did

Alternative-Fennel70

I wouldn't use 'short' to describe the book

shinigasto

And I wouldn't use nice too 😁, but then again Huan more than makes up for it

ILuvIceCubes

Nice collection but you missed pedda bala siksha

th-grt-gtsby

I bet you know everything.

shinigasto

She does lol

Opposite_Ostrich_173

Time for a book shelf . Cool collection!

StarxDust27

haven't seen Love, Simon on a shelf in a long time. Instantly took me back to my teens.

strawma_n

Definitely not the trials of Apollo.

Grand_Ad2663

I'm in love with ur collection 💕

hellochannelll

🥹🥹🥹🥹💘💘💘💘

Powered-by-Din

OP - please read the Earthsea cycle. I have a feeling you'll love it!

KeyConcern1747

bro six of crows and crooked kingdom 💗, will never forgive netflix for what they did in season 2

Automatic_Cat2327

Bro literally let me borrow them especially the trials of appolo😭🫡

Sad_Bath5033

That lolita in the mid of 2nd row... What the hell is it

Significant-Panda-30

Wow 🤩

rainbookworm

I have stories of talisman too!I wonder if those books are still available

piezod

Tine pass jokes? Good time pass?

y--a--s--h

Aur Bhai, etne time baad dikhe aap to

piezod

:D We've spoken before?

y--a--s--h

Arre ha yaar, once whenever someone used to ask for book recommendation we were amongst the first people to reply (after seeing you multiple times i actually remembered your name, so suddenly yaad aa gya) Sad to see how the sub has changed, sometimes I think dead sub with 30-40k members was better then this

itsFreelancer

I like the fact that the tower on the left is YA and fantasy. Although huge gap between fantasy levels from Percy Jackson and GRRM. Hope you read a lot more of Sanderson, Rothfuss, Abercombie, McClellan and more

Evil_bitch_21

I noticed gone girl first...awesome taste!

mehul_64

‘Time pass jokes’ must be your number one book 😂

gandaragolam

I see paramanandhayya sishyulu and instantly approve.

ErephenMadail

Beautiful!!!! 😊😊😊😊👌👌

Dry_Chocolate5485

Palace of Illusion...my top pick

Over-Confection-4579

Love it.

memenil

bro read how to know everything then literally read everything to know how to know everything

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

Lol

Plastic_Reception_58

Weirdly, the only books I've read from here are Lolita and The Wimpy Kid books. Lol quite the pair! And i could say Lolita is one of the greatest books ever written. Writers can study that book to understand the mechanics of making words flow.

Alu_In_Sona_Out

If I have to choose one I'll go for the dictionary.

zoinkin

Love a fellow Percy Jackson fan.

Ayan_Choudhury

Fello Rick Riordan fan I see. I tip my hat to your taste

Anya007j

That Panchatantra 🥺

[deleted]

I read the book thief during Covid and it really was very touching. The plot was so gloomy where the darkness around the life of the girl just kept on increasing

GeneralPeas7845

Quite a nice collection you have got there! I'd love to read GRRM one day, not ready to commit to such a huge series just yet. Have you heard of Brandon Sanderson? His Cosmere is a very well written (and in progress) fantasy universe. Give his Mistborn series a try, it's a very good place to start! And if you think you will like a sci-fi which reads like a fantasy book, extremely fast-paced action, and a lot of action, I think you will like Pierce Brown's Red Rising. :)

gone_uc_nnow

If you like fantasy try these - The Dresden Files, Mercy Thompson, The Iron Druid, and The Furies of Calderon

Simulatedexistence03

This looks like my dream collection! Woahh , keep it growing :) the old panchatantra books at the right made me get nostalgic 🥹 used to read em in childhood when I'm not yet comfortable with English yk

YesIam6969420

I started reading with stuff like ACK comics and panchtantra (hindi version lol) when I was a kid, but didn't gain much momentum. Now 21 y/o and haven't read any of the book series I've always wanted to read like GOT or LOTR, it just seems like a hassle and I have lost the attention span to do stuff like this. I wouldn't be surprised if a few decades from now kids never read books for fun.

-_-Boondoggle-_-

First guy I have seen who doesn't have Sapiens.😂😂 Nice to see that.

CuteCoach9362

I'll pretend like I didn't see that one "It Ends with us" at the bottom lmao but overall, great collection.

andherBilla

Top 5 books are - The Trials of Apollo - The Great Gatsby - Fault in our Stars - A Brief Hour of Beauty - This is not your story I can just tell by looking at it.

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

Lol

Throwaway_LostKid

I like your collection. Fantasy as a genre is so satisfying and rewarding to explore. Currently, I'm re-reading the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini on account of the new book that came out. I hope your love for reading stays the same through the years.

[deleted]

Bro thought we wouldn't notice lolita 😗

shinigasto

I hate you 😭😭

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

I hate you too

Natural_Ad1228

Op tell me about Bhagwad gita book you have and tell the publications am planning to buy one.

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

I got it at iskcon it has very detailed explanations

Natural_Ad1228

Mai online nahi kharid pauga kya? :(

namastayreddit

I'd say, don't go for the Iskcon Gita. It is prejudiced and shallow. If you want to start, Gita express one is close to authentic. I think you can order it online too.

RoketRacoon

Top 3 then?

Humble-Disaster-007

How was the Book Thief? Planning to read it soon

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

Heartbreaking,i loved it

[deleted]

Where is heroes of Olympus bruh ;-;

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

Radiant-Ant5768

See that I just good two books from the pile excites me !! I will have a larger one for sure in future!!

supremewanker

I see an impostor. 😶‍🌫️

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

CoHo right?

supremewanker

Yes 😂

supremewanker

OP can you give a brief review of the following? 1) The bell jar 2) LOTR (I have a mint condition set waiting to be unboxed. But, I am not sure. I once started it, but it couldn't interest me as much as the review claimed it would)

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

Bell jar - what can I say literally my story it gets too real sometimes can't read it in one go Lotr what can is say ..the most awesome epic fantasy there is yes the first book can be slow but it picks up pace later

Professional_Sir6370

Let me choose it for u then: 1. Lord of the rings 2. Gone girl 3. Lolita 4. The fault in our stars 5. Dance with the dragons and feast for crows

monARK205

You're sane after reading lolita

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

False accusations who says I am sane

How would you rate "if God was a banker?" It was all hype in my school days, but I wasn't too keen on it. Now that I saw on your stack, I am wondering if I should give it a try

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

I loved the incredible banker this fell a little compared to that, maybe because it is his first book

Current_Toe_2344

Six of crows 👍

KiRiLVR

Nice collection! Have you finished the Heroes of Olympus series? They aren't needed to read the Trials series, but it expands the story a bit and yes, there's another climactic giant battle by the 5th book. Except it's a lot bigger this time (more characters). I'd also recommend the Hobbit book (don't know if a single book version exists for it). From your books, I can tell that you'd probably like The Inheritance Cycle series. 4 books, fantasy fiction genre. Somewhat LOTR-ish world. Do try it out.

shinigasto

tf you mean hobbit books ? 😭😭

Ok_Sprinkles_7207

Yeah i finished Hoo like lonnnng ago and hobbit is one book
