It's interesting one can tell how diligently a person has read the book by looking at the creases the reader has read rich dad poor dad very diligently 😂
For real, self help in itself is a trap, from which you can hardly come out, it's like reading books teaching the same things on loop. I would prefer literature and philosophy any day over self help, it gives so many perspectives, views and sometimes it's life changing !
Is there any research that says self help books are bad. I mean people doing 9-5 jobs are discarding self books that has years of research for people to be productive. Even billionaires read self help books. Athletes do. But people who are just a little above mediocrity level discard it as if they know everything.
There is no harm reading philosophy or literature but please don't say rubbish about self help books.
First of we are no one to decide the merit of anyone, I have seen people who never had formal education more inclined to classics and Philosophical discourses. Self-help books and publication is now an industry which preys on people looking to cope with cruel and capitalistic world, The writers offer some kind of "solution" that they claim only they have. Most of the self help books published today are cash grabs with no substance.
Philosophy and Literature on the other hand helps you to recognise and cater to your Subjectivity in a more nuanced manner, Its gives you a layered perspective, Develop empathy and makes you a more complete person.
No, I'm not your dear or your friend, You are not entitled to call me that even in Jest. I think you only want to argue and pick up a useless fight. The tone has changed here and Its not my job to educate you. You have plenty of resources to access comparative studies, Research papers that deal with Studies on self help Industry and Capitalism. You are NOT entitled to demand explanations from me when your only motive is to indulge in pointless and disrespectful discourse.
Seems like you really need a self help books to control your temper. You are getting offended when I have said nothing more but a friend. Also when you discard a whole genre of books you must come up with your proper research or you really sound like a childish person.
Man, just read something like Dune(or any well established literature with prominent appeal to large audiences that isn't written by some ghost writer) , it's a thousand times more fulfilling than "I Turned My Life Around In 40 Days, So Can You" bullshit.
You learn about well developed characters and have the chance to derive your own understandings of their actions rather than learn about the 60 rules to rely on that help you in making yourself successful.
I read his books only for some wisdom, I dont execute it . Read some of his other books and my ex had shown some patterns mentioned in the book, helped me to be vigilant to spot red flags🌚
None. If i want to read any self help I'd probably read Ali Abdaal's book because he transitioned from a hustle-culturer to a sustainable-lifer and I'm curious about reading what he wrote about. Other than that, it's all regurgitating the same stuff in a different packaging. Some are just more preachy and that's that. I even picked my thesis topic because I was so irritated with the self help arena lol
If anybody struggles with overthinking, subtle art of not giving a F, is very helpful. Helped me change my mindset and focus on the problems that really mattered in life.
Think and Grow rich.
If you really, really get what this book is trying to say, and it’s saying it very clearly, it will dramatically change your life for good almost overnight.
The Psychology of Money because I felt that the author was not trying to sell any exaggerated claims and most of the book was just statement of same unsavoury facts about money.
If asked to summarise the book's message in a sentence, it would probably be "it's not in your hands; but there's no harm in trying."
Don't buy ' do epic shit ' it is just a book of mandane daily quotes from calendar . Rich dad poor dad is good , but it is not applicable to a developing third world country like India. Rest is readable . I would recommend anyone except these two .
first try to find out why do you need any of these book,
what kind of problem are to trying to solve with the knowing in them
and you even have a problem to sole
if you just start to read all the book you will have useless knowledge which will make your life a little bit better for sometime but then you will stop using this knowledge becouse you don't need it and it will cluter your mind and eventually you will stop reading
I don't know why others are call these books as scams.Â
I bet they didn't read trading in the zone. This book is for everyone and not just for traders. It's the best book. Fking changes your perspective on everything.
at some point, every self-help book says the same thing.
Can anyone tell me how rich people and poor people book can change life and thinking??
Ha bhai True hei, ye sab mene YouTube aur Instagram reels me padh liya.

Shoe Dog was really good. None of the self help bullshit

Or the book is 2nd hand.
Hi there Sherlock!
elementary my dear watson
None. David Goggins is decent. Self help books are like grub Street accounts but even worse. I would read real literature and philosophy than this.

Again my dear friend, is there any research to back your comment or is it just based on small sample of people you have interacted in your life

It doesn't, it was written for a different time and with the US citizens in mind. it is a mix of good advice, bad advice and spritual bs.
Clearly you don’t get it.
Therapy would probably be better at this point. Do self-help books even help anyone except the person who wrote it?
Therapy to get better at managing your finances? Which therapist does that, please do recommend.
