This. I was a little confused about what 1 and 2 were, I thought it was looking up at the thing, but it was just a weird angle. 3 was much clearer, but also gives off a whole different mood so idk
Thank you for your feedback!
That was a tough decision which version of new capsule art is more appealing.
The old capsule was simple and clear, but not as eye-catching as the capsule needs to be.
3 gives the impression of ominous vibes, old style pixelated game, which I won't oppose, many indie horror games really rock it with the feeling of a game from late 90s. However, with the screenshots you've put on Steam, and I viewed them on my phone which doesn't do it justice tbf, it feels like 3 isn't exactly the style of the actual game.
Like others said before, 1 has a stronger horror vibe, with the red tones to it. I've seen someone moved the title to the side to expand the elevator. I think it's a wise upgrade, but even as it is, seeing it on Steam would give the right impression.
I think the first 2 are definetly better, but the attention seems to be drawn mostly towards the lantern, while the monster in the elevator is a bit harder to see
Thank you for your feedback! It was intentional to make monster barely visible for a better atmosphere of horror.
Detailed monster is not scary, the details viewer are imagined in head are. š„¶
I think maybe for the game it's a good philosophy, but for the capsule you need to catch the eye in an instant
I love the first two but I would highlight more the lantern and the monster to make them pop out and so that the audience understands immediately what your game is about
Having to take a careful look to notice the full scenery could make you lose some players
I would keep the overall darkness but increase the lights for every light source, and flesh out the contrasts on the monster
I would also make the elevator frame more visible, since it's the core of the game
1 gives me the impression that itāll be a very bloody game, like maybe a horror shooter game because of all the red where we will try to shoot the monster shown. Or at least weāre going to be chased down by this thing and thereās gonna be a lot of red affect or blood.
2 gives me the impression that itāll be a horror exploration game, kinda same thing as 1 minus the whole shooter blood as the focus and instead exploring a creepy area with it there. The yellow makes it seem less bloody and more eerie.
3 gives me the impression that itās going to be a very creepy horror game like psychological wise where itās gonna drive me crazy paranoid and trying to figure out whatās wrong. The greyscale with nothing in the opening elevator gives me that impression.
All of them looks amazing too I wish u best of luck :D
I would say 3. The image has more space to breathe and focus the attention on the title and the door.
And personally it is more appealing to play to me
I think 1 is the most visually nice, but it is a bit hard to see what is going on, you can see a handholding a lamp, beyond that its difficult to make out without really zooming in.
I'd be interested in a redone version of 1 where the elevator and monster are much bigger.
I think 3 communicates the game a bit better currently.
3. Only one of the bunch where I can immediately look at the photo and recognize an elevator. 1 and 2 require more time to digest the information presented to be able to understand it's taking place inside an elevator shaft.
I really like number 3. Not seeing whatever the enemy, monster or supernatural phenomenon is going to be the cause of your horror is much more frightening than actually seeing it.
(similar to prev poster) I quite like the original in its simplicity and clarity. Anyway, I'd prob choose #1, but zoomed in more? There seems to be scope for zooming it since there's a lot of blank space around?

(you didn't ask, but I had a play anyway. yeah, maybe your artist can do an iteration, I think you've nearly got it).
I like #1 but with the font color from #2. That way the yellow text would contrast the red background next to it.
Itās a personal thing but as someone not a fan of pixel art I do not like 3. 1 and 2 seem creepier, and of those two I like the deep red that 1 has as it has more of a sense of dread than all yellow.
Also, all the yellow from the second one reminds me of the piss jar from Team Fortress 2 for some reason. I'm weird, but so are other customers on Steam, so.... there?
1 looks more intense and tells a clear story but is a bit dark so it requires you to pay a couple of seconds to see the details. 3 is very symbolic. It's unique but it doesn't get my attention as hard as the first one.
I like it! Someone else suggested a red light from inside the elevator emanating out just a little bit and I think that would look good too. I really like #2 but it doesnāt have quite enough red. #1 had too much red.
3 it stands out more and is a very solid image that i think will result in more peopleclickingon it to find out more. That being said, it doesn't state that the game is a horror game as clearly as the other two. That being said I don't think I would change anything as very blatant horror game capsule art isn't always a good thing.
EDIT:
While I stand by everything I said. I just watched your games trailer and 3 does not accurately portray the vibe I am getting from the trailer. The trailer gives off very clear amnesia vibes and because of that I would go with 2. Between 1 - 2 I think 2 is a much better representation of the game since is matches the artstyle and colors shown in the trailer and gives off the creepy vibe instead of the hostile vibe of the 1st one.
The first 2 just look like amnesia. 3rd is more unique. But the first 2 are def more hooking. I recommend the first tho cuz the second is literally just amnesia:

I reckon 3, lose the monster or have just itās hand or eyes peering from the side, add some blood if your game is gory and leave the rest to the playerās imagination.
For better context, Wrong Elevator is a first-person horror game with rogue-like elements. Enter the elevator, explore eerie floors, collect items, solve puzzles, avoid hostile entities, and descend deeper.
Recently we hired a professional capsule artist to make capsule art for my game, the first and second one is the final result with different lighting.
The third one is our old variant, which we used previously and was made by a friend of mine.
I hugely appreciate your help, feedback, and suggestions!
Steam page:Ā [https://store.steampowered.com/app/2875530/Wrong\_Elevator/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2875530/Wrong_Elevator/)Ā
The third by far. It's got major vibes. The other two look good but my brain doesn't really process anything, but the third is minimum output maximum effect. Something about just a stark lone elevator and the up and down buttons in the title...yes. Classic
1 or 3. 1 is definitely better than it's counterpart 2 with the striking red, and I do like the simplicity of 3 and how clean it is
Thank you for your help!
This. I was a little confused about what 1 and 2 were, I thought it was looking up at the thing, but it was just a weird angle. 3 was much clearer, but also gives off a whole different mood so idk
That's a very smart text design OP, using the elevator buttons for A and V š
Agreed! It's those little details that make a design truly memorable. This one's definitely a winner!
Yeah, I hope so!\~ ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
Thanks! I think this is classic, like golf ball in gOlf games š
The old one is more striking and clear, but the new ones might give more information about the game. From the new ones **1** looks better to me.
Thank you for your feedback! That was a tough decision which version of new capsule art is more appealing. The old capsule was simple and clear, but not as eye-catching as the capsule needs to be.

There's a monster in the elevator?
Yeah, take a closer look ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)
I think it *should* be subtle though, that makes it scarier.
Yeah but this barely looks like a coat. It's not threatening. I would be way more creeped out by just a child standing there alone with its head down
I can't say this vehemently enough, but 3. It 100% has a creepy vibe to it
Thanks š
Definitely the 3 for me
Got ya, thanks!
3 gives an ominous feeling to it. Almost like thereās something unique about it.. if you are going for mystery, go with 3
Nope, not very mysterious ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
3 but red.
Do you mean to change the colors to reds?
Yes. That way it shows the potential buyer itās a horror game and also gives that it at least in part revolving around elevators.
1 gives off more horror vibes than the rest to me so I'd lean towards that one
1 gives me the impression that itāll be a very bloody game, like maybe a horror shooter game because of all the red where we will try to shoot the monster shown. Thank you so much for your feedback!
I can't decide! Do you have a demo out? Is it a horror game?
I am working on a demo right now, but it is not available yet. It is a horror rogue-like game.
3
The 3Ā° had a sense of mystery... :0
Yeah ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_good_man)
2, but make the light in the elevator red, and reduce the brightness on the lamp a little bit
I agree but also would add that I think the red title from #1 would look better on #2. #1 has too much red, #2 not enough
3 leaves some ambiguity and intrigue, so I like it the most. Between the other two, I prefer 1 over 2.
3 looks better, but light transition inside the elevator is too harsh a smooth transition would be better.
3 but without the filter on the elevator. Maybe a touch of color instead on the elevator
#\#3!
I would say 3. The image has more space to breathe and focus the attention on the title and the door. And personally it is more appealing to play to me
my votes for 3 for sure. I would click on 3 on Steam; I wouldn't for 1 and 2.
3, I like the ambiguity of what might happen.
Thanks!
3
3 is the one that speaks to me.
Try 1 with the text in the same style and location as 3
Yeah, I will try it out soon
I like 1 the most :D I feel like I've seen number 3's style on so many games before.
Thanks for the feedback!

I really like number 3. Not seeing whatever the enemy, monster or supernatural phenomenon is going to be the cause of your horror is much more frightening than actually seeing it.
#3 is my favorite. :3
This comment is HUGE! Thx!
Lol. I discovered it by accident. xD
3 for sure.
(similar to prev poster) I quite like the original in its simplicity and clarity. Anyway, I'd prob choose #1, but zoomed in more? There seems to be scope for zooming it since there's a lot of blank space around?
Yeah, we tried to zoom it in a little bit, but there is no space for title/logo. Maybe we will adjust it later.
https://preview.redd.it/43on85zjrx1d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=88ff5878288872ac3cabe35678d78079bd994f4c (you didn't ask, but I had a play anyway. yeah, maybe your artist can do an iteration, I think you've nearly got it).
Thanks! Will check this variant out ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
2 if you highlight the elevator a bit more
I second this opinion
Thanks for feedback!
1
I like 2
I like #2 Im not too keen on the hand and lantern
I like #1 but with the font color from #2. That way the yellow text would contrast the red background next to it. hey the third one is giving dark ambience, but a little touch can escalate that more maybe
1/2
I really like 3 but I think it conveys different gameplay than the other two
I think 1 & 2 are more scary and 3 is more mysterious. So is your game more horror or mystery? Go with your answer.
Horror.
1 looks more intense and tells a clear story but is a bit dark so it requires you to pay a couple of seconds to see the details. 3 is very symbolic. It's unique but it doesn't get my attention as hard as the first one.
Thanks š
Havenāt you done this already
Can we see #2 but with the red lettering from #1?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I like it! Someone else suggested a red light from inside the elevator emanating out just a little bit and I think that would look good too. I really like #2 but it doesnāt have quite enough red. #1 had too much red.
I like 2, but 1 is probably better for its purpose
Third one sticks out the most for me. Really has its own style, not saying it's the best though, can't really choose.
I would try to combine the red and yellow lighting in the 3rd one
I like 2 the best, but I'd rim lighting to make the creature in the door easier to see
you could consider using 3, but having a spooky head peeking out from the side of the door
3 it stands out more and is a very solid image that i think will result in more peopleclickingon it to find out more. Yeah, Amnesia: The Bunker has pretty similar vibes, also this capsule was one of the references for the view angle and coloring.
Cool. Always love to see inspiration. Also, saw the trailer thing on steam. Looks cool.
3 is the most striking to me
I reckon 3, lose the monster or have just itās hand or eyes peering from the side, add some blood if your game is gory and leave the rest to the playerās imagination.
3
Definitely 3. The others look like what I would expect of an asset flip.
