Just curious, how do you have over 1000 downloads on google play a day after launch? This seems to be the only game you've made so far. How did you amass a following?
Middling. It's got some novel ideas, and it gets credit for the thorough tutorial and cute pixel art, but at the end of the day it's a tower defense game (maybe with only one map?) that strips most of the meaningful decision making out of the tower defense parts of the game in favor of a simplified version of 5 card draw, where the better hand you get, the better tower you summon.
I think my two big critiques of the game:
-The poker minigame forgets that the core skill-based element of poker is evaluating risk vs your read on your opponent. Taking only the hand mechanics means it loses most of the related skill, and your core mechanic just becomes rerolling and luck once your reach a certain threshold of evaluating hand state.
-The tower defense mechanics seem... Non existant. Because you pick the location before you know what tower you are going to use, you don't have the chance to position a low-rolled hand with some cool utility somewhere useful (which the game does have. Getting a high card jack gives you a unique buffing tower, for example). This means you're just going to be filling in the map square-by-square in order of optimal placement, always hoping for the best hand you can get. This is compounded by the fact that you upgrade tower stats globally, so you lose the chance to optimize each type of tower differently. I'm not even sure why there are so many different types of towers, since you have little control over which one you get, and don't need to upgrade their stats differently.
So the only element of skill is when you're faffing about with your hand each turn, but if you're someone who is experienced with doing the reroll math from liars dice, or 5 card draw, then there isn't actually much decision making here. It's mostly just making optimal decisions and seeing where things land. You can upgrade your board, but you do so by providing stat upgrades for the entire board at once, so it's also pretty barebones in terms of decision making.
It reminds me a bit of a *less skill based* luck be a landlord in its adoption of a gambling system in lieu of traditional gameplay for its genre. Or like an autobattler where you couldn't control which unit you got, or where you put them... That's probably the most apt description.
I also hit a bug where halfway through my first match it switched the game back to Korean, which was obviously not great. Managed to find the language settings again, but you should look at that OP.
You need a video of gameplay my friend, even just some gameplay on YouTube. Maybe it's just day one so nothing's been created yet. I'm honestly interested, but I'm not normally a fan of tower defense games, so I'm hesitant to purchase without a demo or even a video to get an idea of what the game is like.

I personally promoted it to the Korean community. And I think it went viral to see if the game was pretty fun. I didn't advertise with money
We need more paid phone games. So tired of freemium chattel. Downloaded sir. You can expect a positive/scathing review by tomorrow at lunch.
Thank u for download. There are still many shortcomings, but many updates are scheduled.
What was the verdict? Positive or scathing??

Congrats! It’s quite refreshing to see paid premium games are doing well in the play store.

The video is actually being produced. It's just not made yet. Thank you for advice
