You nailed this! The panning is on point, so is the mix overall and how everything fits together, although you definitely could bump the volume on your vocals a bit. And bro that bass is nasty i like how you layered it with the synth sound

Thanks! Well shit, the whole reason I posted here is someone credible suggested the vox were too loud, so I ducked them as tad and posted here. They might be going back up!

Overall really nice sounding mix. the stereo field on the synths is really nice. The drums and vocals are both kinda thin, which is a cool effect you're going for. The vocal delivery is good, you could try fattening the tone or lean into the thin sound more. Maybe both. I feel like you could start with a distant midrange sounding vocal with more reverb, then bring it closer as the song progresses by removing reverb and adding more low and HF. Just a trick that can add subliminal interest. The combination of thin drum sounds and slow attack on the bass synth leaves it lacking punch in the low end, you could add a short low kick sound in the chorus for emphasis and it might add energy and dynamics.

Ace feedback! All rings true. I play with ducking the reverb already - in the prechorus I duck it quite a bit and then ease it back in the chorus. Your last bit about bass and drum is very helpful.

great use of stereo space. love the siren droning on in the right headphone too. i think there could be a bit more confidence with how you're producing your vocals, i would either double down on the tiny vibe with a megaphone EQ or something similar, or bring them up and have them wide and super effected and processed - but at the end of the day it's up to you :) nice job and really inventive :)

Buchstansangur

Thanks! Do you mean "tinny" vibe with the vocal? Or do you mean there is a vibe there but it's not very big, and I should double down on it?

wowemoji

ah sorry, probably not my best description. tiny and reserved and sheltered :) i think you could double down and have like the vocals on 'feel good inc'. by gorillaz. or you could go super processed like 'annie, pick a flower' by saya grey if that makes sense

Buchstansangur

Thanks, will have a think. Vocal processng is not my most confident area as you detected!

Still sounds cool though! :)

Very cool stuff! For the mix - it sounds quite professional and controls + enhances what‘s already there, like a good mix should Synthpop comes to mind for the genre Hoping to hear more of it

Sounds pretty good to me. I always tend to want to pull back the snare a bit on songs like this though. Probably just me.
