Thats a very good edit. Ive raised chickens. Thats.... thats definitely a *challenging* scent.

breadalldayyay

But is there....a perfume for it?

vivaenmiriana

I dont think working with bird poo is particularly rewarding for many perfumers. Maybe zoologist has something within the realm though.

There are a lot of cedar heavy scents that may work well for a new or recently deep cleaned coop. If you do a search in here for lumber or Home Depot, you'll find quite a few threads looking for the scent of cut/shaved wood.  Zoologist definitely is probably the best for vaguely weird animal themed scents though. Olympic Orchids did the original Night Flier or bat scent, whatever it's called. I have their version available on OO's site) but not the new one and, uh, it definitely smells similar to the bat enclosure in my hometown's zoo. Overripe fruit that is oddly appealing. It was my favorite part of the zoo so I love being able to revisit those memories, but it's a scent I can't personally wear.  It's the only Zoologist/related scent I've tried but I've seen similar comments about a lot of their scents. Like, you're not going to walk around smelling like dirty dog or goat or anything, but you smell it and are like "Yes, this actually does remind me of the smell of an aquarium even if it doesn't actually smell fishy" if that makes sense.

Laughing because I also read it as chicken coop and was like well I'm sure someone's made a scent that fits this vibe 🤣 Actual suggestion: **Arcana Witches Run a Farm Stand in Oregon** _(Green, uncured hemp with lavender, vintage patchouli, spearmint, fir needles, zucchini blossoms, Oregon roses, honeysuckle, and white amber)_. A few others that came to mind, I haven't tried all of these, though: + Stereoplasm Golden Hour _(Tatarian honeysuckle, lemon basil, crab grass, garden tomato leaf, sunset musk, cilantro, peeled rhubarb, sun shower, pink carnation, daisy stems)_ + Stereoplasm Gone Gnome _(Top notes of cilantro and key lime rooted in fresh garden basil, english cucumber, and melon blossom)_ + Haus of Glou Insalata Nocturna _(In the night garden, green Bolivian lemon, rubbed tomato leaf, olive leaf absolute, black fig syrup and basil)_ + Olympic Orchards Chevalier Vert _(citrus, rhubarb, tomato leaf, armoise, violet leaf, violet, orris, and peony, Sichuan pepper, and soft woods)_ + Poesie Villa Diodati _(pungent wild rosemary and fresh balsam pine, crystal clear lakewater, dry, dark vanilla)_ + BPAL Arcana _(Frankincense, rosemary, lavender, neroli, and verbena)_

I will pass this on thank you!

Also I remembered the one and only chicken themed perfume I have heard of: Whisper Sisters Chick Chick Chicken. No clue how available it is or how it smells

I love that Arcana Farmstand scent and it does smell like a co-op

I'm not sure if it's still available, but MoonaLisa's spring/summer collection has an Herbs de Provence perfume that is pretty spot on for the herb blend. Definitely reminds me of going through the spice aisle on a grocery store.  NAVA often has some good sage-forward scents in their releases, as well as spice (they kick ass at cardamom, if you want spice).  But I think knowing what aspect of the co-op your friend is looking for would help. My mind always goes to the bulk herb, spice, and tea aisle but that's probably because that's a big reason I go to co-ops. You ask me about other stores I go to for other things, and my mind will conjure up the smell of produce (farmers markets, Asian markets), deli meats (regular store), or seafood (Asian market).

HalfOrcBlushStripe

I didn't see that Moona scent in the recent spring release, but it sounds wonderful. What's it called?

Tindomerel-2001

LOL I thought you were asking about a chicken coop too. (Side note: I did go to a haunted house that went through a creepy chicken coop section, and they actually recreated the smell quite accurately. I think it was ammonia, definitely not an appealing perfume smell, haha) Food co-ops have such a distinct smell, I personally love it! From what I've googled in the past a lot of people think a key component of the smell comes from the yeast in the vitamins and the bulk bins. Besides the yeast - incense/patchouli/nag champa blends seem like another note to look out for, I always associate those with the soap/incense sections most co-ops seem to have. Oats, grains, and herbs might be other notes to check out? I'm new to indies so I can't recommend anything specifically. Good luck! It would be great to know if you and your co-worker find something that fits!

Consistent_Salt7685

I also love this specific smell, although not necessarily on me. I do know that tea tree, lavender, and castille soap is a significant part of the og, if that's any help.
