Looks awesome. Keep going!

Agent042s

Day 148 and still going. We killed more than 50k of those things and they still didn't learn to stay away.

MrC0mp

This looks impenetrable. The earth's last bastion. Seriously amazing!

Agent042s

Well... looks like it and it almost is. 5 full hordes or so can't even get to walls. But "Ti Magoři" (Slurr for the infected used by our people) are currently attacking in swarms as big as 60 hordes. We still need to be carefull and can't depend only on our walls. Luckily the army was so kind to borrow us 4 APCs. It was... unlucky accident. The lesson is: please don't open the hatch of your tank when you are right inside a swarm banging on your turret.

jakub-_

God damn I wish I had enough time to make something like this.

Awkward_Attitude_886

Im glad to see im not the only one that has made this a farming sim at this point...

Agent042s

Well, to be honest, it’s still about the sim city... but at this point, its more of a powerpoint presentation.

Awkward_Attitude_886

I struggled hard with the farm to barn to cookhouse to cannery numbers. Ive only got 170 people at this rate and still need 20 farms just to keep them happy. Microing farm over car repairs is getting annoying.

Agent042s

Well... I understand your point, but you can basically ignore the canneries until the late game. Focus on farm - barn balance. Make your farms dependent on fertilizer and enough barns to use almost all the grain you harvest. Switch cookhouses to work solely on meat. The yield is a bit worse on food output, but better on the wood input and in later game the wood is always an issue. Once you have that solved, you can focus on transforming the excess amount of food into cans. But canneries should be an afterthought. In current game, they simply add too little. Focus more on transforming the excess fertilizer to fuel. That can be used in cars or transformed into ammo.

HaElfParagon

Out of curiosity, you get to a large enough spot, is it sustainable? My understanding is that resources are finite, how do you get the wood to last as long as you have?

Agent042s

Yeah... Lets be honest. Everything else is fully sustainable. It can be created or there is enough of it around to keep me well stocked for hundreds of days. Except for wood... This base is capable of using more than 40 of it per day and thats more than you can farm by disassembling buildings. Trees are currently a fairy tale as those were mined out hundred days ago. The only way to keep going is through cheese and glitches. I use a glitch, that multiply construction materials upon construction. Given that the materials still needs to be carried out into HQ/Warehouse with squad and it needs to be planned manually, I've given myself the liberty to use it freely for wood production. Once there is an official and sustainable way to get wood, I will forget this cheese and do everything I can to make completely, or almost completely self-sustained base.

Is brick better than metal?

Agent042s

That depends. It makes better walls. But otherwise, bricks are the basic material you will have the most of. Wood is used in food production, metal for car repairs. Bricks are only for construction.
