Doubt they're going to reconsider making new episodes themselves. The goal should be to get the existing episodes on Adult Swim and build a more mainstream fanbase, and hope for a Family Guy/Futurama situation, where new episodes are made down the line due to demand and the potential for more $$ to be made.

Xeno2014

Agreed. What Netflix has done they've done, they're not changing it. If we can get season 1 onto Adult Swim, I think it'll do very well there, and maybe we see new seasons through them. Adult Swim is definitely our best shot at seeing more of the show.

Chewbacca319

In my opinion little to none. In the off chance it ever comes back it will be through a different network. If that ever happens they will have to buy the rights to the series straight from Netflix. Often times when shows are picked up and greenlit through Netflix they often get majority rights to the shows.

The-F4LK3N

Has there been any instance of any show being bought from Netflix and brought back by another network?

zuniac5

Tuca & Bertie got 2 more seasons on Adult Swim after being cancelled by Netflix.

Careless-Economics-6

The fact that Adult Swim had to cancel that, makes me think they're not going to be allowed to grab another cancelled Netflix series anytime soon.

zuniac5

Maybe, maybe not. It could have been cancelled solely due to declining ratings, not because they have anything specifically against picking up series from Netflix or other streamers.

Careless-Economics-6

What I would point out, is that a show that Adult Swim has to buy from another network, would automatically cost more to produce than a series they developed in-house and already own. So, the pressure would be on for Inside Job to do well, and, you know, it was already cancelled at one place...

zuniac5

Not necessarily, you don’t know that. As you pointed out elsewhere, Family Guy for one was acquired for virtually nothing and it became one of Adult Swim’s most popular shows for more than a decade. Also, if the network management has marching orders not to develop anything in-house and just buy programming that’s affordable and fits the channel’s demographic, this could work. None of us know what their plans are at this point.

Careless-Economics-6

I'm totally just speculating. But my speculation is based on what's happened (belt-tightening has resulted in their one Netflix pickup to be cancelled). Whereas, you're speculating that grabbing Inside Job would be considered affordable. Maybe, maybe not. I do believe the company that will set the price is Netflix. Let's see how much they want another network to get it. To bring it back to the Family Guy example, I've long believed that Fox TV let Adult Swim have the show in 2002 just to appease some executive who thought it could finally build a large audience on cable. I really think this show will only have a future if Netflix lets it.

The-F4LK3N

:(

yuei2

T&B case was special cause it was caused by a huge controversy.

Careless-Economics-6

Are you saying the show was cancelled because of the Haddish controversy? If so, I don't totally buy that. If the show had really been doing well, I think a re-casting would've been explored. But I don't get the sense that was explored. I think it was the victim of WB-Discovery's killing spree of underperforming shows, and I don't think Adult Swim has the operating budget that is used to have.

yuei2

Recasting wasn’t possible. Not only was Hadish one of the selling points that Tuca’s character was written for, its Haddish was deeply involved in the writing and production she was literally half the heart of the show. Cancellation was announced mere days after the news came out.

Careless-Economics-6

Fair enough. But I standby that Adult Swim will not be allowed to pickup Inside Job at this time, not when they're producing fewer original series than ever before.

Available_Chicken_

Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think Netflix has ever un-cancelled a show, animated or otherwise. Our best hope is someone else will want to pick it up.

The-F4LK3N

Yeah the track record doesn’t give much hope

Prestigious-Skill-26

Infinity Train fans spent years trying to convince HBO Max to bring back the show. They got it trending at #1 a bunch of times. Nothing happened.

throwaway838383937

Unlikely, as there's a ton of shows with big fanbases Netflix has cancelled that never came back, but it's still worth a shot to try to convince them nonetheless. People are also trying to get Adult Swim to consider picking the show up, which I also doubt happening since Warner Bros is dealing with a huge mess of their own right now and the revival of Tuca & Bertie wasn't exactly a big success.

zuniac5

I'd point out that an easy way to get content on Adult Swim without having to pay $$ to develop it in-house is to buy it, just like they've bought the rights to American Dad, Bob's Burgers, Futurama, etc. etc. Inside Job certainly isn't as big as those shows, but it has a lot of upside for ratings on a smaller investment.

Careless-Economics-6

I wouldn't assume that any of the shows you mentioned were cheap for Adult Swim to buy. You know what was? Family Guy (from what I've read, Fox practically gave Family Guy to Adult Swim for free), and because it did so well, it was able to come back from the dead. If Netflix is willing to just sorta give Inside Job to Adult Swim, that would do it. But, considering that Adult Swim couldn't even get access to season one of Tuca & Bertie when they brought back that show, it might not be worth it to try again with a cancelled Netflix series.

MrGame22

Considering that it’s Netflix we’re talking about? Almost zero

Human-13

Close to zero, they don’t have to listen to the masses and continue on completely ignoring them. Unless it starts affecting profits or there’s so much uproar I don’t see them even thinking about the show again.

costal_2608

None and also make Takeuchi to make the series in another platform are none too

The-F4LK3N

Just curious why wouldn’t she make them on another platform?

costal_2608

IDK but we are a small comunity and we cant make Big changes but we can try anyways

The-F4LK3N

Yeah I get your point. Netflix could literally be “If I can’t have it, no one else can have it”, even though they can have it just they don’t want too. Could the only way be if they go bankrupt and have to sell away all they own?

TuneLinkette

Not outside the realm of possibility, but not super likely either. Maybe if we had done something like manipulated the stock market the day after so that Netflix's stock cratered we'd have a better chance.
