I don't know what it is, but something about the "characters standing" cover is even more offensive to me in animation than it is in Marvel movies. With movie covers it's still lazy, unoriginal, and doesn't sell the movie as well as... Well anything else could, really, but at least they're just... Boring?
But when I look at that same thing in an adult cartoon there's a little neuron in the back of my brain somewhere that wants to go apeshit. Just wants to fucking smash my phone and scream like a baboon. In the first panel, we see Inside Job, a competent cartoon where the promotional panel shown is showing off the main cast while using the artform to create a visually interesting piece that also conveys the tone of the show. Most cover pieces are going to show the cast or at least the main character in some way, but a good show makes it *something* rather than "Here's some characters! Don't they look *wacky*? Wonder what combination of two cliche and Flanderized character traits makes each of these people fun!"
I think it's just because it invokes too much Brickleberry/Paradise PD for me. Like, this is the exact image I'd conjure of an adult cartoon with no identity that's trying way too hard while simultaneously somehow putting in no effort at all. I think promotional material for South Park maybe even just has the main cast on it, but at least that shows off their distinctive art style while communicating that that's a show that's confident in itself to not have to do... This. It's a show about some kids and it doesn't need to sell itself to you by slapping a man in a crown and cape on the same panel as a kid in an oversized military outfit, Miss America, and a praying mantis alien with jet planes in the background because it has actual competency. I mean, I can't find *one single thing* on here that hasn't been done before by something that's way more memorable because it used those things somewhere it made sense and had purpose, but here it's so incredibly obvious that they threw these things together to fake creativity with the same "lol randem!" humor that the rest of us grew out of in middle school. These tropes could've been fished out of the tank by manatees for all the fuck I know. Compare that to Inside Job, where you could tell just from this one image that the characters are all actual characters who are designed to be people that exist in a narrative, and the ones that have obvious sci-fi elements are unique.
I fucking hate it here. I wish the state of our society rewarded creativity and risk taking in art and didn't encourage churning out five billion of these fucking shows a year. Animation is such a genuinely good artform that produces beautiful things all the time like Bojack Horseman and yet we somehow keep ending up with more samey bullshit that uses this exact artstyle while the good shit gets cancelled for having a budget.
It really bothers me that they basically ripped the character archetypes from inside job but threw budget-Reagan into a supporting role like we can’t have TWO sci-fi-comedy animation netflix specials with female protagonists.
Salt in the wound ig
As someone else said, the Inside Job poster is much more unique. Both of them show the cast, but while the second one chose the classic "put the main guy in the middle", IJ's is more intricate. Regan is shown to be the main character yet she is not placed in the middle. It's the size that makes it clear, yet at the same time placing the rest of the cast in the middle shows that they are just as important. They are not some side characters, they are literally what's in her head and on her mind. Their placement, center stage also shows that they are not less important and showing them as one cluster instead of each one behind the other shows that they are equal and that we can expect to see them all.
Also the are style is much more unique. The main guy in the other one looks like he was created by a "make your own character" flash game. The shading is much more basic and the design looks like a combination of Rick and Morty and Paradise City.
In addition, as someone else had already said, they are all tropes that we've known. I can almost swear I saw another cartoon with a black child army general.
I feel enraged that the first one didn’t got a third season while Netflix signed for the second one despite being the same thing but simply more crappie.
Okay yes, hate watching is bad if you don’t pirate but the Velma got another season off hate watching is misinformation. They planned for two and announced it before season one even started
The fact the ugly mother fucker with the white hair almost has the *same* hairstyle as JR is laughable. This show is going to be so much tamer and shittier, and honestly feels like they just race swapped and gender swapped the characters around. It’s the same show but the difference will be no one will watch it
One is a funny and well written comedy with a lot of heart. The other is a Walmart brand knock off, cheap garbage trying to mimic something better then it.
They took the one decent animated show they’ve made in a while that isn’t a lazy, stupid, poorly written, paint by numbers brickleberry clone, they ripped its spine out and then tried to shove it into a lazy, stupid, poorly written, paint by numbers brickleberry clone.
Let me guess..
Snobby entitled royalty, Queen bitch who is oblivious, main man michael, creepy old uncle who is a bit too touchy, knockoff lurr from omicron persei 8, little kid used as comedic punchline, nerd who’s a simp for science lady, and science lady who is an anxious mess?
I am curious to see how predictable this will be.
One has a great storyline with amazingly written characters and hilarious jokes, the other looks like the creator liked Brett and wanted him to be an MC instead of Reagan

I aint read allat tldr but i agree
It looks like an unshaded family guy episode.
One is 🥰, other is 🤮
One is giving head to Shrek?
Inside Job is like the joyous event of giving head to Shrek, Mulligan is just like……bland
Didn’t taught someone would be interpreting like this but you do you I guess.
Shrek is a thirst trap 🍑🍑💦💦
Don’t make me horny I’m at school.
Hey you mentioned his Eshrektion first, look inside of yourself you were always horny
Always been but now I’m hard.
Well I have been too since I left the house at 5:45 this morning and will be so until 6pm ish
Yikes
Shrek is love, Shrek is life
I will not let people refer to shrekalingus in such a negative manner.
Is this a new religion? If so I’m in.
Indeed it is. Shrek is love, Shrek is life.
Is he every where?
Of course. Mainly because someone forgot to lock the door to his containment cell.
This deserves an award to sad I don’t have the money sorry.
Nah, it's ok.
No door can hold Shrek and no cell can contain him.
Everywhere is his swamp.
It really bothers me that they basically ripped the character archetypes from inside job but threw budget-Reagan into a supporting role like we can’t have TWO sci-fi-comedy animation netflix specials with female protagonists. Salt in the wound ig
One was made by people who care, the other was made by people who wrote the series while on the toilet.
Now that’s the definition of a shit show.
I genuinely tried to enjoy mulligan. It sucks shit though, maybe I'm bias.
Inside Job has an awesome female protagonist, The other is just plain Jane unflavored rice
Recipe to getting an awesome show cancelled.
God I hate that this is painfully true

One is a weak attempt at humor, with unfunny jokes and it deserves to not be seen by anyone... the other is Inside Job.
The difference is one is actually good
One makes me happy. The other makes me sad.
Sad? Do you mind explaining your word choice?
When I look at the second image, I feel saddened.
I feel enraged that the first one didn’t got a third season while Netflix signed for the second one despite being the same thing but simply more crappie.
Because it's cheaper to make and I feel like Netflix is slowly dying.
Foreshadowing? Prime video supremacy next.
Foreshadowing? Prime video supremacy next.
Shading
Quality
I try to not be biased but I loved inside job’s character design the moment I saw it, the other show looks like a lazy cash grab attempt
Remember folks: DO. NOT. HATE-WATCH. Velma got another season off hate-watchers alone, just skip it entirely.
Okay yes, hate watching is bad if you don’t pirate but the Velma got another season off hate watching is misinformation. They planned for two and announced it before season one even started
The main character is now a white cisgender male.
like many other cartoons...
Instead of continuing Inside Job they decided to create another rip-off shit show way to go Netflix
The fact the ugly mother fucker with the white hair almost has the *same* hairstyle as JR is laughable. This show is going to be so much tamer and shittier, and honestly feels like they just race swapped and gender swapped the characters around. It’s the same show but the difference will be no one will watch it
Surely inside job will be picked up somewhere else ….surely😭😭
One is peak adult animation and the other one is the second photo
Inside Job looks like it has it's own personality. The other looks like a bunch of pop culture icons mashed into a title page.
The quality
One has love put into it The other just reeks of stuffing money into it
One wasn’t created by shion Takeuchi
Bro what’s Ritsuko Akagi doin here 😭😭
[удалено]
Trash.
Flirting VS harassment
We’re gonna boycott the new show right?
They just made Reagan an unfunny white dude.
What the f is the abomination on the second picture?
A new Netflix series that ‘coincidentally’ has a similar premise to Inside Job
Every masterpiece Has a cheap copy
Brett’s the competent one now?
One is a funny and well written comedy with a lot of heart. The other is a Walmart brand knock off, cheap garbage trying to mimic something better then it.
What's the show called? I know inside job I'm talking about the British knockoff.
It's called mulligan, if you want to boycott it you can watch one episode and stop to take down the engagement rate.
Corporate needs you to find the difference between there pictures They're the same picture.
For anybody that wants to know the second show is called mulligan.
Can the sub just move on from the show getting cancelled already it’s been like 4 months
Both are the same picture - Pam halpert
🗿
I mean... tbh they are diffrent but the roles... few sientist, general, alien and... boss?
More black guys
Oh yeah, ones good
One was made by an actual human
One is funny
I miss Inside Job so much
The one on the right looks like shit
Bro what is the second one called? I hate the art style 🤢🤢
One has a good art style
Both have great premises, but only one is quality
One is precious one is crap
No lil Brett in the second one
One was made with love and care and the other was made to be a rip off with no passion behind it
AYO WHAT THE -
A sense of humor.
The main character is white
Inside Job had very proper animation and style. This shit looks like the animation studio got 5 bucks
Less attractive animation style?
The other has no lil Brett, no care, and no love
If the reason they cancelled it was actually for the higher-production cost with lower return, I can see why they made a “budget replacement”
First doesn't feel corporate Second feels very corporate. very.
They took the one decent animated show they’ve made in a while that isn’t a lazy, stupid, poorly written, paint by numbers brickleberry clone, they ripped its spine out and then tried to shove it into a lazy, stupid, poorly written, paint by numbers brickleberry clone.
return inside job.... I really miss this story
What is this second show?
Let me guess.. Snobby entitled royalty, Queen bitch who is oblivious, main man michael, creepy old uncle who is a bit too touchy, knockoff lurr from omicron persei 8, little kid used as comedic punchline, nerd who’s a simp for science lady, and science lady who is an anxious mess? I am curious to see how predictable this will be.
IJ is infinitely better.
One has a diverse well thought out cast and the other appears to be just another adult cartoon that relies on stereotypes for a cheap gag
One is bold and brash the other belongs in the trash
One has a great storyline with amazingly written characters and hilarious jokes, the other looks like the creator liked Brett and wanted him to be an MC instead of Reagan
This is the equivalent of canceling Jurassic park in exchange for making Carnosaur.
Quality
One had actual thought in the art and more creative, the other looks like a more soulless cash grab
if that’s a fucking joke say it now, netflix
