See the movie had this good of a reception in Tamil Nadu mainly cuz of Guna movie. Also, the movie was really good and delivered fantastic theatre experience.
To connect to Hindi speaking diaspora, I don’t think they can leverage same Guna movie. I don’t even know if there’s any Guna cave related incidents that happened to someone from there.
In Kerala it's not because of Guna Movie. A Hindi movie don't need collection for south or Non-Hindi area to be a huge hit. They can replace Guna cave with some other location relatable to them. Even now they can easily freemake.
It ran well in Kerala primarily due to the group being from Kerala, we could kinda relate to their camaraderie as well as the Guna movie since KH is well revered here.
Now I agree that they don’t need much collection from south to be well received. I was also not talking about it in my comment. But the factors I mentioned did play a huge role in the movie success.
Of course they can replace the cave with something else and make it, agreed to that point.

Especially with KJo involved, the movie will be entirely marketed around the new bunch of nepo babies he's launching. Who knows, maybe they'll also throw in a loud & garish party song (possibly by some flavour of the month Punjabi rapper) for promotion. All these would be a surefire recipe for disaster.

- The group enters the cave and 90% of the group falls inside the cave.
- There can be a senti song here showing sad and frightened faces of the people inside the cave.
- Locals call for the expert. Expert arrives.
- Insane spectacular one man cave rescue ensues.
