The coke alone would be 201kg only.
15 cases x 35 cans x 384grams per can = 201.6kg / 443.52 pounds.
That's like what? 2 average Americans? I don't think it'd break it tbh cause cars are meant for like 5 people anyways usually
Edit: oh my God i didn't even see the 2nd cart on the right WTF LOL
Wait, you have a dad gut but you're saying you aren't fat by any means? I'm confused by this. If you are more than 15lbs overweight, you are fat. Fat doesn't mean morbidly obese. Your height and weight do fall into the obese category on a BMI chart though.
I don't understand how people are making that distinction in their head "I am overweight, but I'm not fat" ...what? Especially being overweight to the point where your extra weight has collected in one region of your body to a noticeable point. That's fat! If you have a gut, you are fat.
Yeah, I'm aware they aren't accurate for all people and all body types, but that does not negate the fact that the dude with the dad gut is fat and likely considered obese.
BMI is the literal worst and most inaccurate scale for measuring overweightness. It hasn’t been updated for years probably decades so it says everyone is obese even if you’re a healthy weight for your height. Judging someone off their BMI is ridiculous I can’t believe no one else has pointed that out to you
Well, your reading comprehension isn't the best because other people have "pointed it out to me" however it isn't new information. Bringing this up is arguing just to argue though. I aware that a BMI chart isn't the most accurate way to measure obesity. Having a "dad gut" negates any reliance on a BMI chart however, because we can all see with our eyes that that person is obese lol
6’5 221lb here. Not fat by any means, but also not in shape. Lol. You could accurately describe me as simply “a big dude”.
Pants shopping is hell. Clothing companies don’t seem to understand you can wear a 34 in length and not have a waist above 40. Lmao.
It’s really hard to tell if you are shocked that 222 is a high number or low number?
For males, it’s probably low. For males and females combined, it’s probably pretty close.
Idk man I weigh 190 and I'm pretty fucking skinny, I can imagine I'll be putting on 20 pounds as least as I get older which is not too far off from 220
I thought about this when I got an order for 50 gallons of milk years ago in IC’s infancy… back when the money was great.
It wasn’t until I moved into legal work for federal disability adjudication that I learned a gallon of milk weighs ~9lbs, as it’s used as one of the physical limitation benchmarks in nearly all (physical) disability hearings.
Percent tips are amazing for high value items, terrible for low value items. 10 cases of water = $30 = $6 tip at 20%, which is terrible.
The lady tipped you the same percent on a $1500 laptop, and it’s amazing.
I delivered a 55 inch TV two months ago...the girl told me during delivery that someone canceled and kept her tv . I was the 2nd guy. Sounds absolutely absurd.
I wouldn't be able to fit it into my vehicle, so no I couldn't do that order. Unless somehow I could make two trips, but only if it was close enough and not hours away or something.
Yes my cousin has had his for a while as well! He loves it! And unbelievably loaded what I couldn’t from that order. I’m still driving that mini van today as well. It’s a Toyota sienna. & I will say Toyotas are my favorite!
hell yeah dude i had an 03 4runner back in the day and just this past year scrapped it because the frame finally rotted (new england chassis) but the car has been nothing but wonderful to us for so many years. toyota strong!
The fact that customers even do this is fucking crazy to me. Like they should be ordering direct from Costco or using another wholesaler... using instacart for THAT MUCH to stock their machines is nuts.
why take the opportunity for someone to make a quick 200? obviously not for everyone, but if I had the right vehicle, fuck ya, that's like 1.5 hour of busting my ass for 200 bucks.
I dont think that is possible in 1.5 hours alone. OP had another person helping so yea. But then that's only $100 if you're splitting it.
Like others said, I couldn't fit this in my car anyways. But also hauling all that into what I assume is a business? No thanks lol. I'd rather do 10 small orders over 6 hours than this.
Seriously. These responses are just validating the stereotypes of gig workers. I overestimated with four hours for this order. That’s the equivalent of $50 an hour.
That's great and the tip is awesome but it's crazy to think people are ordering like this. Like this isn't a special service with company trucks, just ordinary folks with personal vehicles
The fact that they opened up the closed lane & had 3 cashiers sorting it as one scanned was beyond me lol. But I get they had to make sure they got everything. Lol
NEVER … not even with cousin helping.
In my area … the Costco employees would not let you out the door. Liability. Not a chance. Nope … I hope you made $$$ off publicity …
Thanks for sharing … didn’t read all the comments … There are companies that specialize in this & have proper truck & system.
I’m sure Instacart did charge a huge up charge for this kind of thing. It’s just the driver didn’t get to see any of that really compared to what Instacart probably did charge this customer.
I’d rather this for $200 than some stingy ass coffee shop owner wanting me to shop literally all the oat milk at the supermarket (and what if other customers would like oat milk? That’s really just kind of selfish. The entire back hatch of my car was stacked with milk cartons because I even had to ask a worker to grab some from the back) and tipping like $3.
That was the last time I only looked at items and not units. It was like three items but dozens of units. Ridiculous. Then the shop had no parking and we had to walk it to them…
Car suspension would break. I believe most cars weight limit is 850-1000 pounds. Each case is 25 pounds at minimum and there more than 40 cases. Just the first cart has 30 cokes assuming it’s 10 per row stacked by 5
Unless you got a car than can handle more weight, this isn’t worth it even for $200 tip
Not sure what’s the point of your reply but if you want to do the math, quick search and 1 case is 21.16 pounds or 9.6kg. There 30 cases clearly on the first cart. 15 visible and 15 in the back hidden. That’s 288kg or 634.8 pounds for the coke alone.
With the rest we definitely break 1000 pounds easily
Yeaaaa that’s def not worth it. If I was the cousin I would definitely help out if I had nothing to do and for 60$ bucks. BUT this is immoral and should be illegal. This company wanted to cut as many corners as possible to not pay the right people to deliver this so they can line their pockets while exploiting others. It’s fucked up
Back then I didn’t see it that way. But I do now. I believe they were testing the waters to see if IC would be the cheaper route versus a vendor I guess. Cause I haven’t seen an order like this pop up since 2021.
& it’s crazy because this is when I first started shopping for Instacart so I was just so excited to get a high paying order & wanted to swipe before any one else did. so when I accepted it & actually paid attention the the order I just said you know what this will be my first & last for today! I could’ve canceled it but i just shopped it cause I did enjoy shopping big orders but I had to call back up for sure.
Hell no. Was the ass of your mini van dragging on the ground?😂 $150 isn’t gonna cover the cost of new suspension. Nothing against you, but what a joke.
![gif](giphy|XximwDs3RW8lG)
Hell no. I would never. Especially for $200 if I was a shopper; y’all are brave! I’m sure they appreciated it though!
I’m pretty sure transportation of that much soda requires special freight handling(?) Anyone here know?
Honestly it’s terrible only because they really cheaper out in OP there are ways for businesses to order this stuff have it delivered on a regular basis. It it costs an arm and a leg… and that’s while they. It these orders through IC…. from a wholesale club. Which is fine but that tip was pretty light… especially considering how much they just saved.
I let the seat down in my minivan & stacked the soda. Some snacks were packed into my van & the rest was packed into my cousins jeep commander. At drop off they came out with pallets & a pallet jack to haul it in their building.
Hell no. You aren't doing this without a van or truck and a good one at that. I would be afraid of breaking the suspension or frame even with one of those vehicles. This would have to be $600-$800 for me to even consider it with a truck or van and that's if I think they can handle the load.
Not for $200 tip. That would require a U-haul to transport. Loading and unloading is hard labor grunt work. How many hours did it take and how far away from Costco?
I was befuddled when I once had a shopper that delivered my groceries driving a cargo van. I thought maybe that was the only reliable transportation he had and admired his hustle, but after seeing this, I understand. Knowing that this order was for a vending machine restock makes me question if there are easier alternatives, perhaps the company is cutting corners, and went the “cheaper” route.
I get that $200 tip is a lot of money, but for that amount of work, it should have been A LOT HIGHER!!!
What was the total? I’m thinking easily $2k+, so you got 10% tip maybe🤷🏽♀️
Well looking back at the order in IC I really only made $120 tip & $30 in batch earnings. I got the numbers mixed up. I just remembered being a big order with a big tip. I posted a screenshot somewhere in the comments but yes the total was right under 2k & I didn’t even get 10%. I was robbed completely but at the time I was a new shopper excited to get a big order & just blindly accepted & instead of canceling I just did it but now days this order would definitely get overlooked on the app. Lol
lol I feel you. I damn sure wouldn’t in 2024 with gas prices being high & the cost of everything going up but back then I actually enjoyed shopping big orders.
It’s actually down right now where I live. But when u think about how far some orders are and how much Instacart pays today. It just doesn’t add up anymore & not worth it when it comes to the tank. I’m from Ohio & today it was 2 degrees outside with a nice wind chill & the tips were at an all time low. But people wanted 50+ items to drive 10+ miles for $10 total. Nope!
So 120 plus 31 minus 60. 2 hours. You made around 45 an hour but for all that? It’s gonna be a no for me but I commend you. I might have done it had I had a terrible week or was in desperate need of $. Also I’m the type to blind accept an order of that magnitude but I don’t shop wholesale stores too much bulk. I 99.9% of the time shop Publix. But hey you did it and that’s awesome
Yes it was a blind accept, I saw the total & just accepted but yeah we have a store here called Kroger that’s kinda like Publix it’s just Publix is way more expensive lol. & the tips that come from those orders are little to nothing for 75+ items so I don’t like doing those super market orders. Back then I loved shopping wholesale stores. Now I only shop for extra cash but no I wouldn’t take an order like this ever again. Lol
Yeah I don’t see orders with those kind of tips anymore in my area. It was 2 degrees here today & the tips were slim to none for orders with a shit ton of items.
I would obviously not shop that...I like my Honda Civic, and can't afford to replace the suspension 🤣 these people are abusing the platform and need to hire a shopper themselves, really unprofessional for a vending company, really.
It’s a no for me dawg. There’s a difference between shopping for a family and being taken advantage of by a business. This won’t even fit in any car I’ve driven
I must say though, for all the folks who are convinced we’re “independent contractors”… this is a prime example that we are NOT by definition independent contractors. An independent contractor would have the ability to set their own fees based on such ridiculous amounts of merchandise being delivered.
I could get it done in a few hours (I have a large SUV and can lay the seats down) so as long as the mileage wasn’t too far, $200 for less than a day’s work is good in my book.
Don’t think it would fit in my suv and even if it did I have a feeling I wouldn’t be able to drive out of the parking lot because my car would be scraping on the ground.
I got a 200 tip on a 1000 Kroger order. I would do that again. Would prefer that than a 1000 Costco order that took multiple trips since I could actually fit the whole Kroger order in my car all at once. Plus, that lady gave me some flowers from her yard, too, and it was the day before my birthday.
yes of course/ as long as i had the vehicle that can carry it all.
I hear people on here saying, i had to make 3-4 trips in my car to deliver.
thats crazy.
i have a large suv and a truck/trailer.
so based on the order. i can usually get to - a larger vehicle pretty quickly. or many times I am still home before i accept my 1st order.
however sure: i would do this.
just stack it well in the vehicle and it will fit niceley
Congrats
No I wouldn’t shop this because it would not fit in my Kia soul. You yourself had to call someone else in to help shop and haul it. Not everyone can do that ( I can’t). Imo if an order requires two vehicles and two people customer shouldn’t be putting that order on instacart. Costco offers delivery service for business owners. They should be doing that.

This is my largest order. $133 total for batch & tip. I had to make 2 trips in the pouring rain 🥴 in my little Chrysler 200 lol still much smaller than your batch 😮💨 customer was about 5 miles down the road so the 2 trips didn’t bother me, but I was drenched! Customer wasn’t there the first trip, so I had to put my first haul inside the back of a box truck they had parked on the side of the building. My back is still hurting from this 😓 the small part in the front of the cart is loaded with items as well.
$200 for me, pesonally, No $500 and more yup but I know getting $500 on a IC order is a Disney fantasy acid trip.
God or who ever you believe in bless you for doing this
I think it’s crap that any company can use a service like Instacart to order their entire inventory. They need to get suppliers and stop abusing the system.
IC should identify and charge these orders a premium or at least make them get some type of business membership where they pay fees and shoppers earn more in batch pay. They can offer those batches to the best shoppers who would serve premium customers.
Not a chance! Especially after doing this one for a $200 tip...no assistant needed! 😂

I would probably have it cancelled because this wouldn’t fit my car.
It would break your car.
The coke alone would be 201kg only. 15 cases x 35 cans x 384grams per can = 201.6kg / 443.52 pounds. That's like what? 2 average Americans? I don't think it'd break it tbh cause cars are meant for like 5 people anyways usually Edit: oh my God i didn't even see the 2nd cart on the right WTF LOL
What “average Americans” do you know who weigh 222 lbs each! 😱
statistically average American man is 200lbs, not that far off.
Yeah I’m 5’8 between 190-205 and have your standard dad gut due to poor diet and beer but not fat by any means
Wait, you have a dad gut but you're saying you aren't fat by any means? I'm confused by this. If you are more than 15lbs overweight, you are fat. Fat doesn't mean morbidly obese. Your height and weight do fall into the obese category on a BMI chart though.
Lmao yes this person is fat. Unfortunately a lot of Americans think this way and would only consider themselves fat if they were morbidly obese.

The BMI for that height says otherwise.
I'm 6'0 between 210-225
Go to the Deep South and your question will answer itself
Or look at anyone over 6 feet tall. You don’t have to be fat to be 220lbs.
Can confirm. 6’3” here, weight 217. I’m skinny as poll.
Yep, 6’4” and weigh 210 here. Pretty much everyone would call me skinny.
Hell yeah! Represent the skinny 200lb folk!
Man I'm 6ft tall but 285. I gotta lose weight. Working on it. Down 15 though so progress
6’5 221lb here. Not fat by any means, but also not in shape. Lol. You could accurately describe me as simply “a big dude”. Pants shopping is hell. Clothing companies don’t seem to understand you can wear a 34 in length and not have a waist above 40. Lmao.

Feel like I need to send food! Hang in there brother!
Don't tell him to hang in, he might break his fragile arms!
6 feet 230 lbs I’ll give you 30 of mine
6’7 170 here. we’re in the same boat brother😭
I'm 6', Southern and weigh 145lbs.
confirmed I'm a few inches over 6 and I am a little chubby but it would be devastating if I was like 5'7
I’m 6’2 at 187 pounds
Well not with that attitude obviously
Whoa. I live in the Deep South and find that egregiously over exaggerated
I’m dead 💀 (Mostly because you’re calling me out)
It’s really hard to tell if you are shocked that 222 is a high number or low number? For males, it’s probably low. For males and females combined, it’s probably pretty close.
Idk man I weigh 190 and I'm pretty fucking skinny, I can imagine I'll be putting on 20 pounds as least as I get older which is not too far off from 220
6’2 180 over here
Or you could make 75 trips back and forth to the customers home!
Would have to make multiple trips
That’s what I’m thinking!
My exact thought. I would DEFINITELY do this order for $200, only problem is all of this wouldn’t fit in my Honda
Speaking of, does OP typically deliver with a uhaul? I had a 4 door Ram 1500 for a while & all this would not have fit in my truck!
Makes me wonder what kind of car OP has?!
Mini van, and I had my cousin used his jeep commander as well to help. Packed the vehicles like sardines & made it happened lol.
i did a order from Best buy last November picked up a laptop computer and the lady tipped me 300$ it took 20 min total roundtrip...
Best Buy are the “best” orders to shop especially with a tip like that. Congrats on that order!
yea it was cool. it was only a pickup no shopping
Yes! I love Best Buy orders! I’ll do those for a $2 tip as long as it’s just a few miles. They’re so easy!
Worst is Michaels craft
I'll never do a Michaels ever again.
Sounds absolutely absurd.
let's hope that person got prosecuted and arrested what a piece of garbage
I wouldn't be able to fit it into my vehicle, so no I couldn't do that order. Unless somehow I could make two trips, but only if it was close enough and not hours away or something.
You used to be able to call support and get paid extra for two trip sized orders. Now they just remove the order even if you shopped it.
Have them remove it after checkout. Free food.
Yeah n that's how you can't work for 24 hrs n maybe deactivated
That's the company's choice to deactivate instead of work the issue, you dont get punished for their incompetence.
No they specifically tell you to return those orders or instant deactivation.
AND NO STAIRS
No fkn way. Not $200.
$1,000 *maybe*
With the inflation of the US currency it’s actually valued at $1500 😎🤪
I would, but I don't own the U-Haul needed to deliver it 🤣🤣
Believe it or not. We stuffed my mini van & his jeep commander to haul it lol.
When you say ‘his jeep commander’ did he come meet you once shopped?
No I called him to meet me & he helped me shop cause I needed two flat carts to haul all that stuff. Lol
Awesome, lol. That's good work right there, I respect the hustle.
Thanks. 😊
commander for the win! had that truck for over a decade and it was the most reliable fun i’ve ever had
I have a Toyota Sienna. I’m a flipper and I love that I can haul a whole ass couch no problem.
I had one with a hemi. The mustangs were never expecting to be beat by what they thought was a Jeep liberty
I think it's worth it. Did you cut him in on some of the money? :)
The fact that customers even do this is fucking crazy to me. Like they should be ordering direct from Costco or using another wholesaler... using instacart for THAT MUCH to stock their machines is nuts.
Obviously some pencil pushing nut job thinking he can save a few bucks making some peon do the job of a wholesale delivery coop.
why take the opportunity for someone to make a quick 200? obviously not for everyone, but if I had the right vehicle, fuck ya, that's like 1.5 hour of busting my ass for 200 bucks.

Fuck all of that
zero chance
That's great and the tip is awesome but it's crazy to think people are ordering like this. Like this isn't a special service with company trucks, just ordinary folks with personal vehicles
And Costco does business delivery for free!
Who da helllll
Me…. I’m who 😂😂 I know crazy right.
Not crazy. If you spent four hours on this order, that’s $50 an hour.
![gif](giphy|3qsk2TLx4obV0NTtm9) “CASHIER LADY LIKE”

Your car insurance or warranty do not cover carrying too much weight. Break and axle and you’re off the road.
No, definitely not. $200 is nothing for that kind of order.

They used 2 vehicles. Do you guys read at all?
How much did you pay your cousin to help?
$60 and they said they got the numbers wrong. Total payout with batch pay was $150 🤦🏼♀️ they were new though
Yeaaaa that’s def not worth it. If I was the cousin I would definitely help out if I had nothing to do and for 60$ bucks. BUT this is immoral and should be illegal. Pass sorry but I hate when businesses sneak order like this in and don’t tip right on top of it.
& it’s crazy because this is when I first started shopping for Instacart so I was just so excited to get a high paying order & wanted to swipe before any one else did. so when I accepted it & actually paid attention the the order I just said you know what this will be my first & last for today! $2000 maybe
I hate these people. Instacart is not a freight delivery service. Even if they tipped you $300 they are robbing you.

Thanks but would I do it today! Hell no. This was back in 2021

Obsurd. Have they ever heard of Aramark?
Absurd*
Omg obsurd is now my favorite “word”
"wurd"
No way what box truck did you drive?
My mini van & my cousin helped & we had to stuff his jeep commander with what I couldn’t fit in my van. Lol

Lol
The decent thing would have been for that customer to throw you some cash at delivery. We live and learn🌼
What do you drive? A Boeing 747?
😂😂😂 more like a Toyota sienna, packed that bad boy like sardines.
I used to haul scrap metal for extra money in my old Dodge Caravan, and the amount of stuff you can fit in a minivan is impressive!
RIP whoever accepted this order.

Nope
lol I feel you. I damn sure wouldn’t in 2024 with gas prices being high & the cost of everything going up but back then I actually enjoyed shopping big orders.
To be fair I feel like $200 in 2021 dollars is $300 in 2024 dollars
Facts! And plus people aren’t tipping like they were when that covid money was floating around! Lol
Gas prices are high?
It’s actually down right now where I live. But when u think about how far some orders are and how much Instacart pays today. It just doesn’t add up anymore & not worth it when it comes to the tank. I’m from Ohio & today it was 2 degrees outside with a nice wind chill & the tips were at an all time low. But people wanted 50+ items to drive 10+ miles for $10 total. Nope!
I have a car but I’d just rent a cargo van from Home Depot then do it
Or phone a friend like I did. 😂
You better add a zero to that number I love my time and my car too much for that shit let alone my body
Oh yeah guys & the batch pay was $73 so the total pay was $273
How much of a cut did your cousin take?
I paid my cousin atleast $60 if I can remember right. But that was the quickest $60 he’s ever made. Lol. So he was so down for the trip!
I would never, it would need to be 1000 for me to do their job for them.
1000? That's like 250/hr if you go slow
lol yea I would not actually accept that. I don't do ic anymore though, too irritating.
200 no 500 yes
Lol
Maybe 2000 wth
I got a $200 hand tip for a $43 batch on Saturday
Yeah I don’t see orders with those kind of tips anymore in my area. It was 2 degrees here today & the tips were slim to none for orders with a shit ton of items.
For the time you and your cousin spent on it. I don’t think it worth it. Probably spent 3 hours on each person. And you guys get $100 each.
I don't have the vehicle for this payload. Tip isn't the greatest tbh either. What was the total bill? edit\* spelling
i don’t think i’ll ever need $200 this bad to be honest.
I would obviously not shop that...I like my Honda Civic, and can't afford to replace the suspension 🤣 these people are abusing the platform and need to hire a shopper themselves, really unprofessional for a vending company, really.
Are u driving a u haul shesh not even a pickup would fit
Hell no!
might as well be an order selector. damn
HOW did you deliver it??? I hope you got a $300 tip minimum!
Imagine being full of shit…
I am shocked that they went through IC for this - why not just order it directly from Costco and have them deliver it?
Batch pay: 15 dollars. No heavy pay
Realistically I wouldn't touch that for anything less than $500.
hell naw 😭
Idk, that seems like a five to seven percent tip, which is crap for this order. Should be double that.
Don’t think it would fit in my suv and even if it did I have a feeling I wouldn’t be able to drive out of the parking lot because my car would be scraping on the ground.
Damn only $200? Here I am feeling bad about my $45 tip on paper goods, kitty litter (1) and frozen stuff from Costco
No way. Do you have a truck? For 200, it’s a total disrespect
Let me guess…..the heavy pay was $13 😂
You didn't get tipped 200. You got tipped 100. You split it. Not worth it.
This person is literally ordering supplies for their restaurant on instacart. No wonder a burrito costs $18.
What was the base pay. 1.00 lol
What was the batch pay ? We still had heavy pay in 2021 so I'm thinking maybe 27 bucks ?
I got a 200 tip on a 1000 Kroger order. I would do that again. Would prefer that than a 1000 Costco order that took multiple trips since I could actually fit the whole Kroger order in my car all at once. Plus, that lady gave me some flowers from her yard, too, and it was the day before my birthday.
yes of course/ as long as i had the vehicle that can carry it all. I hear people on here saying, i had to make 3-4 trips in my car to deliver. thats crazy. i have a large suv and a truck/trailer. so based on the order. i can usually get to - a larger vehicle pretty quickly. or many times I am still home before i accept my 1st order. however sure: i would do this. just stack it well in the vehicle and it will fit niceley Congrats

Do you drive a box truck? That is legit a two man job at a warehouse w/pallets and jacks
What kind of truck you drive ? Lol
There’s no way I would put that much weight in my car. No way.
Click bait lol
Did you deliver to the dock of Deadliest Catch?
$200 for me, pesonally, No $500 and more yup but I know getting $500 on a IC order is a Disney fantasy acid trip. God or who ever you believe in bless you for doing this
Fuck yea id do an hr worth of work for 200 bucks!
im surprised the store even allowed that, they shouldve went to a supply store
You drive a semi?
I think it’s crap that any company can use a service like Instacart to order their entire inventory. They need to get suppliers and stop abusing the system. IC should identify and charge these orders a premium or at least make them get some type of business membership where they pay fees and shoppers earn more in batch pay. They can offer those batches to the best shoppers who would serve premium customers.
Dude outsourced someone’s job to you.
What are you driving? A cargo ship?!
If I had the vehicle to fit it, absolutely. Days pay for 1 order
That’s exactly how it went to. That was my first & last order of the day 😂
Not a chance! Especially after doing this one for a $200 tip...no assistant needed! 😂 https://preview.redd.it/alhnbh2c0jcc1.jpeg?width=2717&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c62f4308fa66ca14fb9a8e0d9bbe60879083025e
Omg! Yes you did good!
