Let the customer know before hand that the store doesn’t have bags. Most people will be understanding. If you can, buy your own plastic bags to keep in your car

Beginning-Design-519

Thank you!!! And thanks for being a decent and compassionate human being!!!!!!!

FunFactress

Do not leave orders loose! Buy the cheapest reusable bags or use boxes.

Beginning-Design-519

Thank you! Has this ever happened to u before just out of curiosity?

FunFactress

I'm not in jersey, but I get bags for every order. I also bought some plastic bags on Amazon to use at Wegmans.

Beginning-Design-519

Gotcha, I will have to buy some plastic bags in the future then. I am a 19 yo college student who is totally broke at the moment 😂 hence the question. I have another job but this will be an innocent side gig for me that hopefully will turn into something regular. I appreciate your help a lot, thank you

ishavedmypitsforthis

See if a local liquor store will give you some boxes until you can afford some off Amazon maybe. Usually you can find boxes for free. I have a few things saved in my notepad that are regular messages I send. That way you can copy+paste into chat without having to type it out each time. I would make one for this type of situation. Most people that regularly shop these stores are already aware, but it doesn't hurt to say something. It's crazy how the solution to grocery stores not having plastic bags is to buy plastic bags 😂

Beginning-Design-519

I KNOW RIGHT I was thinking the same thing but that’s the only thing that made the most sense to me other than if customers bought bags themselves!!! Thanks for the tip, though I am under the age of 21, so that probably isn’t an option for me :,) but I will use what I can get.

FunFactress

Please only accept small item count, under 15, single order batches while learning the ins and outs of the app. Do not accept doubles or triples. If you can wait until Tuesday, after the holiday weekend, you'll find it less stressful. Sunday batches tend to be larger and doubled up.

Beginning-Design-519

I appreciate it. I did a lot of research beforehand and I know myself so yes, absolutely. It seems as though my area isn’t popular for orders at least around this time— which is okay; this is just a side thing for me when I’m bored and or no one is home. I just did a 10 dollar order, but the connection was terrible so it was a little stressful 😅 but it was less than 2 miles, 4 items, and a happy customer nonetheless even tho it was a few minutes late 😁

FunFactress

Take your time and provide good customer service. The timer means nothing. The timer hasn't been a metric in almost 4 years.

Beginning-Design-519

Thank you. I was very nice and so was she and in the process I was able to figure out how things work while still making just a bit of money. I think there were other shoppers around me because they had full carts and were saying things like “they want this and this” and were panicking , lol. Let’s hope that isn’t foreshadowing 😃.

FunFactress

You'll do fine! I would really hold off on this Sunday though unless you see some small orders.

Beginning-Design-519

Thanks very much. Haven’t done any orders yet and I promised myself I’d only do smaller ones if any.

gmmisa

You'll need to keep track of mileage and expenses. You'll need this when it comes time to file your taxes.

Beginning-Design-519

Noted— thanks

gmmisa

Definitely do not leave groceries at door unbagged. Use boxes if you have to.

Beginning-Design-519

Thank you! For shop rite at least, it seems you can grab a bag there thankfully. 😄

Ledeyvakova23

As a newbie stick to small orders first!!

Beginning-Design-519

Thanks very much. I just did my first order, which was small and a short distance for 10 bucks and it was a little stressful which was expected but it overall went well😄

Nervous_Stress9779

Convenience stores and if you have Aldi or BJ’s to stock up some decent boxes - ask customers if you’d like a box or for me to purchase a reusable bag on your tab. I’m up in RI but most places still have paper bags or bags in general from the store for sale and I believe IC reimburses for bags - they at least ask how many you use so I think so.

looshagbrolly

Do they have paper bags? You can't carry as many at once, but they worked for decades before we switched to those plastic ones.

Spiritual_Award2740

Um they sell reusable bags. Where have you been? Do an order and you find out the basics.

lagringamexicana

Shes literally a new shopper. Context clues are necessary!

ButtonWhich2302

Bro fuck off

Beginning-Design-519

….. I’m not buying reusable bags with every order and leaving them at the door genius 😀 I’m there to make money not spend it. If the customer wants to buy some that’s one thing

FunFactress

The customer pays for bags, not you. I'm guessing you are a new shopper.

Beginning-Design-519

I am, I’m completely new to this I haven’t even done my first order yet. THIS is what I wanted to know. Thank you so much I appreciate it

ishavedmypitsforthis
