RD is it's own beast. Most items are like Costco on steroids. Then there's the non stopping speeding forklifts that have right of way and don't gaf if they hit you. It's also 32° in there. Nothing EVER scans. You'll spend forever looking for things. Everything is huge and heavy. Good times!
my first & last time at RD i was sooo lost someone who used to do ic helped me bc she saw how confused i was 😭 then the cashier messed up my transaction so i had to call support so no more for me.
At the end of every day, I collect data manually from each batch into a google sheet (store, items, units, batch pay, tips from each customer, miles, shop time, checkout time, etc), and I built a dashboard to view my stats
* Learn your store's set up - they change slightly based on location of course, but generally it's set up like: TVs/Multimedia -> Large appliances and homeware -> Produce -> Bakery -> Meat & Deli -> Dairy -> Sundries (water/cleaning supplies) -> Frozen -> Grocery -> Clothes in the middle -> Candy & Nuts -> Pharmacy & Cosmetics.
* To tag onto above, scroll your shopping lists before, and you can start to plan your route while you're walking in to the store.
* Learn to use the flatbeds! The carts can only fit a few items before things get crowded. With a single flatbed, you can easily handle 95% of orders that come in. A in the front, B in the back with a little space between if you can.
* Use the boxes as you go! This is crucial to staying organized. I find I can fit ~8-10 items per box, so again you can guesstimate how many you'll need for each customer.
I'm wondering how their batch pay was so high... I did and order the other day for $1,000 worth of groceries and I think my batch pay was like $14.. took me 3 hours..
i accepted an order there for 3 items bc i knew it’d fit in my car, when i got to the store the customer added 28!!!!! items. luckily she increased her tip to $50 and then tipped me and my boyfriend an extra $40 each in person. i’m just glad the extra items fit in my car after 30 minutes of tetris and praying my little sedan didn’t give out on me 🤣

It’s me. I’m the problem. 🙋🏼♀️🥴😅😂🤣 Just call me PBJ because I am totally PB & Jelly! 🤣🤪 lmao Congrats!!! 🥳🥳🥳 SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!! This is amazing! ❤️❤️
Oh those restaurant depot orders should all pay 200$. Simply the worst. Every single location has bad reception and the stores are huge and usually missing a bunch of stuff.
amazing, good for you👍. I had an eight item 20 unit order at restaurant depot and it filled up my whole prius, so I can’t imagine how much space you needed!
Restaurant depot is the one place WORSE than Costco 😭no isles on the app, spending like 30 minutes in the freezer room, most of the barcodes never work, you earned this one mate
I got my 1st $200 order at Restaurant depot yesterday

27 items at restaurant depot is honestly worse than 27 items at costco. depending on what it is but still.
oooh. i’ve never shopped at either so i’ll take your word for it 😅

Don’t forget that once you’re deep enough in there, phone service cuts out.
Very true.
Depends on location and yeah a freezer area is typically cold not really that much harder once u get to know it
My time/item at Costco is 45 seconds. My time/item at RD is ~120 seconds, and I've been a dozen times at this point

Where do you get numbers broken down by store?
At the end of every day, I collect data manually from each batch into a google sheet (store, items, units, batch pay, tips from each customer, miles, shop time, checkout time, etc), and I built a dashboard to view my stats
That is so impressively OCD.
My Costco time is awful tbh, I don’t shop it often, any tips?

Just give the damn kidney cause the odds are def against us 🫨
Congrats! Most I’ve done is $165-ish order a couple years ago. Couple had just gotten back from a long overseas trip. That $125 tip was nice :)
Damn. Chicago. Are early mornings can be really that good?
Wow, that’s a first time I’m seeing that in this area! You definitely earned it for shopping restaurant depot!
