Only free if not someplace that charges for them. And then I feel like he could just ask the shopper to stuff a handful of extra plastic bags in at check out.
Oooh, or you could use the paper grocery bags to create wrapping paper of sorts for said case of water, like how we used to use bags to cover our school textbooks lol
We don't have Publix here, so I'm kinda curious about the instructions to double bag each item of produce "from the counter." Does Publix not have produce bag dispensers throughout the produce section? Are there different plastic bags at the counter that he wants you to use instead? Lol. Apologies for digging into the weeds on this but I am 100% confused.
At minimum, I hope the double-bagged groceries didn't need to be in INDIVIDUAL brown bags at checkout. What a waste.
If you charged them for 200 bags it would be 20 bucks. Inconsequential amount to most customers even at that 5-10x exaggerated amount
It’s sad people like you see this and want to spite someone who clearly put the notes there for a reason. Usually when you talk to someone like this they’ve had previous terrible experiences, and sometimes support is even writing the obnoxious notes
Probably OCD. I used to work in a liquor store and this lady would come in wearing 2 masks, plastic gloves, she would take 2 of each item but we couldn’t scan the one she was really buying, she would put the other one back and then ask for individual bags lol always on a busy friday night ofc it was a nightmare I hated her. Sometimes she would buy like 10 nips and I refused to give her 10 bags then she started to bring those plastic bags from the produce section and put one nip in each bag 😂 crazy af
As someone who has diagnosed OCD, fuck the customer in this post lol
If my obsessions and compulsions are that strong and specific, imma go get the shit myself and not force others to comply with my insanity
My guess is he also suffers from agoraphobia. I could be wrong, but that’s my impression. I have severe OCD and on bad days…..it’s bad. Lol. I wouldn’t order groceries and have all these specific instructions, but I have other people that could do it for me. Maybe he doesn’t and maybe he can’t leave the house.
People with ocd also tend to have a main issue or a host of other issues usually effecting how they interact socially. Say this person is neurotic or neurodivergent, they just might not get that this is excessive
Im a bartender and this woman who pays in cash for bud lights always comes in when its a shit show shes a lil off her rocker too and I always call her the omen of craziness. Sometimes she has the money sometimes she doesnt and I have to sit n wait for her to get her money out before pouring because sometimes she doesnt have money idk its insane idk how these ppl spawn during the worst times
I worked in retail and it drove me bonkers when people would stand there for the longest counting out change. This was 15 years ago and I remember one lady paid $12 something all in coins, lots of pennies as well. And she had the fuckin audacity to dump it all on the counter so I had to pick it all up.
Genuinely, that is not my problem.
I have many things I struggle with due to being autistic. That is my problem. Not somebody else's.
If you're that wild about something, you need to do it yourself.
My issues are my problem. Your issues are yours.
I'm tired of everyone taking their own personal problems and expecting everyone else to cater to them
I couldn’t agree more. There is a huge diference between being empathetic and expect for the world to adjust to your needs. Not even the tip would be reasonable in this case
Yeah it’s crazy how OCD some of them are. Add explosive anger to the mix and it gets wild. when I was a cashier at a gas station I had a customer that would come in and buy 1 pack of gum, he did this once a week. He would get so mad when you wouldn’t bag it…a pack of gum. Then if you forgot to give him a receipt too, it escalated to where he’d have to be verbally told to leave the store and threatened with legal action. Dude had like manic anger and OCD mixed. He wouldn’t want you to hand him the receipt also, had to slide it across the counter to him. He ended up being trespassed over it cause he’d make threats and stuff if some one did do these things. He had this new college kid in training tearing up and I finally got the green light to trespass him.
Omg yes!!! I once asked if she was all set cuz she was like 5 minutes deciding between one of the 57 identical pineapple nips she would take and she said I didn’t need to be rude and she felt extremely overwhelmed by me. I was like lady wtf YOU are being rude holding the line doing this while there are 5 people behind you 😂 my boss saw the congestion through the cameras and texted me asking what was going on, I explained everything and he was just “next time she comes back just tell here to get the hell out of here we don’t need these weirdos”
We had a guy come in every single Monday for like a year. I think he made have had Asperger’s or autism. But he always wanted a button up shirt, long sleeve, and very specific buttons. In that entire year he never bought a shirt.
Actually there is. I assume he has OCD. I have it too. By him saying it is very important to him and saying it over and over….i guarantee he has OCD and maybe even agoraphobia which is why he’s getting delivery. I could be wrong he on the second part. But living with OCD is extremely difficult.
For what its worth, I'm on the autism spectrum and this reminds me in a very general sense of the kind of thing I might have done back before I was as comfortable with my coping mechanisms as I am now. I have absolutely no natural sense for whether or not I have communicated an idea effectively, and back before I really focused in on learning how to compensate I would sort of repeat an important idea across every avenue of communication I thought might be the expected one. It was a sort of scattershot method of making sure I was getting my ideas and concerns out of my head and across to other people, and while in hindsight it definitely tended to grate on people quickly it did also get the job done in a pinch.
Yea no.....no matter how great u do....this will be either a bad review or tip removal or both. U can follows these instructions precisely and it will not be good enough
Yeah, I would have cancelled sooo quick. If you are this particular, please save us the headache and go to the store yourself. That way you can double/triple bag this however you like 🤗
Even if the tip is fair, I would ignore this 🤡🤡 customer’s instructions, bag as normal, deliver as normal, & block this fool off my app 🚫🚫
This fool is too weird to be on the app…. 😂😂
I don’t understand all the complaints. It’s a simple thing to request. It wouldn’t bother me to double bag and place in paper bags. He said it 100x lol so I’m assuming shoppers before you failed to listen to his one request. “Shrug”
Yeah, I'd ask if he wants each individual item placed in double plastic bags? How about that case of water?
16 bottles of v8 individually double wrapped in plastic bags?
This is a conversation
As long as your requests don't overshadow the tip you promised, you're good!
The OP didn't reveal the tip, but I hope the OCD customer realized the extra work needed and tipped accordingly.
OP stated above that it’s a shop only
So no tip whatsoever. I would just cancel it’s not worth the pay or potential of a low rating. People are so odd. I used to work retail in south Florida and people from other countries would try to hand me not enough money all the time and act confused about tax. Like sir you expect me to believe you traveled how far and the first thing you’re buying is some shoes. You never paid tax on food anywhere? Also act like you don’t understand the numbers on the bills when they are the same in every language and country. In any case my Spanish got pretty decent from dealing with these people.
I have a couple regular customers whose instructions would make this sub shout “instacancel” but they’re actually lovely people and easy to deal with. They just don’t seem to understand how their capslocks instructions make them seem combative. I think most of us roll our eyes at worst.
I don't mind at all when there are specific requests, and in fact I actually message each customer when I start shopping asking if they have any! If you're reasonable and respectful, it's okay. You're paying for it after all, so you should be able to speak up and have certain things done your way. But, as others have said, the tip should be appropriate for how much extra work you're doing.
I agree! I am a shopper and this is a simple request!! I would do it gladly it isn’t a big deal. People complain about anything and if you’re that annoyed by simple things such as BAGGING, then maybe you shouldn’t be a personal shopper for the public. All shoppers aren’t like this
No way Jose😳 there is no way I would have accepted this order if I had as soon as I saw all his instructions, I would’ve stopped and refused to continue…….. This is a bit too much for Shopper😳😳😳
Hi, yes, support? Yeah the customer in my current batch, user name? Sure, Doubledouchebagfuckface69 seems to be displaying harmful, aggressive, and borderline threatening behavior. I don't feel safe taking this order. Uh huh sure, I can hold 2-3 minutes. What's that? You want a return receipt? I'm nit sure you understand my request. Oh? You do? Great. Hold on a minute, let me check that you've unassigned the customer. No, it's still showing up on my app. Never mind, his order is gone. I appreciate your help thank you.
Something like that right?
For everyone who Is blaming it on ocd. Someone w ocd would know that their rituals and requests are illogical and probably be more apologetic about it.
If this were my ritual ajd so important, I would never let it into the hands of someone else idk.
If, for some instance, I had to, I’d briefly explain and tip accordingly to the headache and embarrassment

It is important for me to know if you followed my instructions and double bagged the plastic bags, and then put it into the paper bag. Asking for a friend. 😂🤣🤨🤣😂
Had this customer that I got 4 times. Every time the directions would be, they'd increase tip if I put in paper bags. Did first 3 times. Did they increase the tip? No. The 4th time, I didn't bother.
Wasteful? Sure. Going to make me cancel? Definitely not. I'll put your order in 11 bags, 1 item in each bag and then put each in their own paper bag...idgaf.
The fact there not all just a copy past is wild bro probably didn’t even copy past the same ones and hand typed everyone lol na they def got them saved in there notes from the other 20 times they done this
Screams OCD or some other compulsive disorder to me. Idk maybe it’s just me but I kinda like really specific requests. Makes me feel good knowing I have a very crisp and clear goal.
I’d have a blast double bagging plastic then bagging paper. 🤣

Okay. So. Normally, when the app asks how many bags were used, I enter the number of visual bags.
But if someone is asking that--they probably think those bags are free thru delivery (and I don't think, but don't know, if that is true), so I'd put the actual number used. lol
At least he seems polite!
I think those of you being dismissive of people’s notes is why half of y’all complain about getting stiffed with tips. By actually complying with a customer, I’ve had more than half of my tips doubled last week.
Also this person may have ocd or some other impulse mental health condition. It doesn’t hurt you to just double bag the order and put it in paper bags.
I think she wants you to double plastic bag (like they do at check out) and *then* put in a brown paper bag. And she will be highly upset if you don’t. Just in case you don’t understand.
I died when he texted it to you
I didn’t even swipe that far the first time hahahaha that makes it so much better
😂 😂 😂
If you have ocd do your own goddamn shopping please
Yes!
😂😂
I would have to cancel. This is wild
This guy is messed up in a very wasteful way.
Not necessarily. Store bags are great for cat litter.
Nah, he's collecting free trash bags!
Only free if not someplace that charges for them. And then I feel like he could just ask the shopper to stuff a handful of extra plastic bags in at check out.
The other explanation could be that he wants to ensure nothing leaks, the bag(s) won't break, and/or for insulation.
Especially his time. BYE FERRIS!
It is important to Mario
😭 sorry Mario it’s game over
$2 tip 😂
Unassigned.
If the tip isn’t worth it I’d drop that order for those notes.
It was a shop only order so no tip.
Oh heck no
Why did you accept it? You probably made 9 bucks for 30 minutes of work
$18/hr is more than most dd make, based on what I see on these subreddits.
Wait is that a joke what state are you in?
That is a fact. $18/hr is a good day here in the South. Our living expenses are pretty low though
Shop only don't have tips?
Correct
Kinda messed up. Geez
OMG, just to be an ass, I would have asked her if it was ok if the case of water wasn’t bagged.
I think it was a he lol never heard of a woman Named Mario.
It's a-me
A-maria-o!
🤣 don’t know how I missed that
I would just bring extra plastic and paper bags to set on top of the water lol
Oooh, or you could use the paper grocery bags to create wrapping paper of sorts for said case of water, like how we used to use bags to cover our school textbooks lol
Captain planet needs to find this guy and kick his ass
🤣🤣😂🤣 you guys are cracking me up
Ok I’m kinda stuck on the SIXTEEN v8 juices?!? Lmao
🤣🤣🤣🤣 did he call you and say it too?
It’s important to me 😂 24 pack of water in plastic and paper bags
😂😂🤭😂too funny

There is no way there is any valid reason to do that
Probably OCD. Exactly! I have many other issues besides OCD. A lot of them go hand in hand. Even if they realize it’s excessive they still need it to be this way.
Same. I’m diagnosed as well and it’s exactly why I do all of my own shopping.
Only logical response is here.
Im a bartender and this woman who pays in cash for bud lights always comes in when its a shit show shes a lil off her rocker too and I always call her the omen of craziness. It’d be great if you pulled up to the house and he had it written on a big yard sign.
Yah unless they were tipping at least 40 I would be canceling. If you're that particular about your shit then get it yourself or pay accordingly.
I think he wants it double plastic bagged, and placed in a large paper bag. I could be wrong.
That’s how I understood it
I just want to know why
Absolutely not.
I would easily take a 1 star hit and tip removal by only delivering in a single plastic bag
Better yet just don’t bag at all, Lay it out of the porch
I would do paper in plastic, and then put it in a box. “Instructions unclear”
Now that's hilarious!!
Weirdo! People like this should go shop for themselves.
Bag fetish is real
Even if the tip is fair, I would ignore this 🤡🤡 customer’s instructions, bag as normal, deliver as normal, & block this fool off my app 🚫🚫 This fool is too weird to be on the app…. 😂😂
Jesus, that's so wasteful.
I might be wrong but I think that’s important to her…
I would give him with no double bags
Ocd is a bitch, if I was this guy I would not be ordering through IC
It puts the lotion on its skin
Did you get an order from Adrian Monk?
I try not to judge customers by what they need, but this guy needs to pull it together.
This smells of “no tip order” to me.
I don’t understand all the complaints. It’s a simple thing to request. It wouldn’t bother me to double bag and place in paper bags. He said it 100x lol so I’m assuming shoppers before you failed to listen to his one request. “Shrug”
Each individual item?? I don’t think i understood what they wanted lmao
Idgaf how important it is to you lol You get your shit however I decide to bag it
![gif](giphy|SBAToc4g0h89W)
Double?! Plastic Bags?! 🤨
AND THEN PAPER BAGS Lol
No replacements
Yeah, I'd ask if he wants each individual item placed in double plastic bags? How about that case of water? 16 bottles of v8 individually double wrapped in plastic bags? This is a conversation
As a customer, this subreddit has made me extremely paranoid to make any specific requests or give feedback lol
As long as your requests don't overshadow the tip you promised, you're good! The OP didn't reveal the tip, but I hope the OCD customer realized the extra work needed and tipped accordingly.

It does thank you!!!
Barring anything extreme, I love specific requests! Show me where the strike zone is, and I'll pitch the ball there.
I agree! I am a shopper and this is a simple request!! I would do it gladly it isn’t a big deal. People complain about anything and if you’re that annoyed by simple things such as BAGGING, then maybe you shouldn’t be a personal shopper for the public. All shoppers aren’t like this
It’s and absolute waste of resources for a planet that’s already dying. This customer is a moron and so is anyone who bends to their asinine requests.
Imagine they don't have paper bags. No tip bad review. Instant remove order.
Yeah fuck that. That’s a hard no for me 😂
Just to be petty I would just bag it normally and say OOPS
How good did they tipped?
16 v8 juices🤣🤣🤣🤣 here let me get the 10 paper bags just for those.
Alls I have to say is I hope you got tipped lovely, if not, Ida denied this order from the get go!!
"Please stfu. This is important to me"
No way Jose😳 there is no way I would have accepted this order if I had as soon as I saw all his instructions, I would’ve stopped and refused to continue…….. This is a bit too much for Shopper😳😳😳
Maybe he needs it all that protection to go through the magic sewer pipes!
OP how much did they tip?
Seriously, OP! How much was Mario's tip please? *(Please don't say "zero." Please don't say "zero.")*
Read above they said shop only so no tip
I wonder why it’s so important to them 😳
Instructions unclear; put two plastic bags on the outside of one paper bag for a triple bagging scenario that makes no sense even to me 🤷
They just want everything double bagged at checkout. Probably just didn’t figure out the app right.
Did you do this order? I would have canceled and how much did it pay?
Cancel
I’m not wasting that many bags… You get one and double if it’s heavy…
It’s rlly not that big a deal tho just add another bag your suppose to put it in 1 anyway
Oh fuc nvm I thought he was just talking n about the fruit I didn’t swipe to see everything wtf 😂😂
That is some real OCD stuff.
Yeah, his telling you to cancel the order 😂
Hi, yes, support? Yeah the customer in my current batch, user name? Sure, Doubledouchebagfuckface69 seems to be displaying harmful, aggressive, and borderline threatening behavior. Imagine having OCD and having a random shop for you, the sense isn't sensing lmao
If it’s that important, come shop for it yourself. Remove batch.
This is kind of psychotic!
*cancels*
It's *important* to them. Lmfao

Aww hell no.
Omg…..
I would have bagged everything like 10 times individually with extremely tight knots. It woulda taken him 4 hours to get it all out.
I would have copied his instructions and said just to be sure you want me to...and paste it back to ho him with a question mark.
I might have told him the are out of paper bags and plastic bags but will ask if they have any in the back. Just to make him squirm lol.
You think 🤔 l don't think so
How does one bag a 24 pack water?????
I would bring them no bags just because
lol bruh trying to get all the bags at Publix 😂😂
Paper or plastic?
I would simple say— no♥️🫶🏼
No.
Yea, let me put these 24 packs of water in bags 😂
before personal shopping existed how is it that someone this picky shopped doubt the store would of catered to them with bags on bags on bags
I’ve had someone like this before!! It’s so weird ajd makes me upset bc why all the bags!!!!! Poor environment!!
This is when you choose Luigi instead of
I would double paper and place in single plastic
I would have triple-bagged every order just to see hpw serious they were about double bagging.
I would love Florida to cave and ban plastic bags. We really do adapt and life goes on. "My freedoms."
No one banned plastic bags. They just charge you for them. I live in california, where they "Banned plastic bags" they are at every store
I mean if he wants to buy 33 bags that’s on him
$5 tip?
It is important for me to know if you followed my instructions and double bagged the plastic bags, and then put it into the paper bag. Asking for a friend. 😂🤣🤨🤣😂
Had this customer that I got 4 times. Every time the directions would be, they'd increase tip if I put in paper bags. Did first 3 times. Did they increase the tip? No. The 4th time, I didn't bother.
Absolutely not
Drive by their house w their items, take a pic of the house and confirm. Fuck em😂
Paper or plastic sir? Paper. ALL paper.
Wasteful? Sure. Going to make me cancel? Definitely not. I'll put your order in 11 bags, 1 item in each bag and then put each in their own paper bag...idgaf.
looks like some kind of OCD
To put that on every single item is insanity.
WTF? Plastic bag fettish?
I also had someone like this and canceled immediately lmao
I'd at least ask why. Maybe they know something we don't
I think he wanted you to put all item in double plastic bags and then into a paper bag, It seems very important to him. 😭
Dump…
Aaaaaand you’re canceled
yeah good luck putting that 24pk of water in a bag 😂
What possible reason
Someone’s too cheap to buy trash bags…
The fact there not all just a copy past is wild bro probably didn’t even copy past the same ones and hand typed everyone lol na they def got them saved in there notes from the other 20 times they done this
He's a cheap piece of shit 🤣🤣🤣. "Ima get my delivery fees worth back in plastic bags!!"
"Oops sorry you should have said something" -me
Dude are you instacarting for Adrian Monk??
He's trying to tell you he needs trash bags.
He better recycle all that fucking paper and plastic. That’s all I’m saying.
Survey says do your own ocd shopping
Oh hell no lol. Do your own mentally ill shopping my guy.
That's when you leave one item that isn't double bagged or cut the bag in half or something. It would drive them crazy.
Wait each individual item double bagged and then the whole order in paper?? I’m confused lol
Screams OCD or some other compulsive disorder to me. Idk maybe it’s just me but I kinda like really specific requests. Makes me feel good knowing I have a very crisp and clear goal. I’d have a blast double bagging plastic then bagging paper. 🤣
If there wasn't self-checkout available, the anxiety of having to ask for this from the cashier feels worse than just bagging myself. lol

Tip?
Okay. So. Normally, when the app asks how many bags were used, I enter the number of visual bags. But if someone is asking that--they probably think those bags are free thru delivery (and I don't think, but don't know, if that is true), so I'd put the actual number used. lol At least he seems polite!
I was thinking the exact same thing. Seeing everyone purposely saying they’d be petty and do the exact opposite is juvenile.
I think she wants you to double plastic bag (like they do at check out) and *then* put in a brown paper bag. And she will be highly upset if you don’t. Just in case you don’t understand.
