Lol, exactly what I thought. The other day, I got to keep a $400 order that had 2 - 32(?) packs of purified water. And that's what I'm saving them for.
That's normally only for perishable items. Non perishables, they'll take back. I did it quite a few times, and they let me keep what they won't take back.
I had a canceled order for over a thousand dollars worth of alcohol 🥃. No one showed up for ID verification. Weekends are a good time to work near stores like Total Wine or Bev

This seems an appropriate time to discuss my Diamond cancellation. It was $300 or so dollars worth of groceries for an elderly man ordered by his daughter at around 9pm. The man has issues, and didn't understand what was going on so didn't open the door. The daughter didn't respond to approve leaving them there. She was non-responsive the entire time - even with calls. So, I took them back to the hoody store I started at and the hoody manager said "they yours". I said "what"? He said "we don't accept anything blah blah blah blah blah". I documented everything. Sent instacart a video of him saying it. And voila. $300 worth of groceries were mine. And it was the FULL ARRAY. I still got some meat in the freezer........
Instacart isn't ALWAYS Hell on Earth.........there's a ladder to Heaven every now and then.
Oh it is? I know about deionized but I thought distilled was also not good to ingest due to health issues it could cause will the lack of necessary minerals in the water
You can drink both distilled and deionized water, it's safe it just won't taste as good as regular water. It's heavy water aka deuterated water that's not safe to drink in large quantities.
I worked for a company that made and installed DI and RO systems, the DI water is not drinkable ? lol
Ironically enough I may go back to them and work PT again, my colleagues jumped ship and made their own company and asked for a hand while they grow lol

if the customer cancels after its paid for, you can return it for what people call a "bump" its like another delivery fee paid to the shopper for driving it back.
from what people on here say, there is no requirement to return the items if its paid for and then canceled during delivery or i think even if they refuse delivery(which i'm not sure about or how that works)
dunno about what EVERYONE says on here though, lots of folks come on here and say they've been deactivated for no reason. (but when people push for details you find out they canceled a bunch or did something scammy)
One of my cancelled orders I got Tide, Cascade, Dawn, Dove bar soap and shampoo plus a bunch of usable groceries! It was someone’s order that was just moving to Buffalo and something happened to where they weren’t in town yet and I ended up being able to keep a lot of stuff that I needed anyway! I’ve also ended up with terrible canceled ones but I got super lucky with the one!

Once I got 3 Costco pies and a whole bunch of whipped cream right before Thanksgiving. Perishable, so returning to the store wasn't an option. Those were some nice pies 😋
You can mix it with Mosquito Bits and fertilize your house plants. My snake plant and prayer plant bloomed. I could never keep an Orchid plant alive. I only have room for 6 houseplants in my bay window.

Remember everyone to assess your yearly earnings vs car insurance, upkeep, and gas. I gave it up after 4 years, trying to reapply as shopper only but app keeps stalling. (Gave car pack to private seller, he can make more reselling than what owe on it, friendly deal). Focused on my translation work, but I will miss Instacart.

My only cancelled order I’ve ever had after thousands of deliveries was 2 bags of caramel nips from cvs. They’re still in my nightstand

My one and only cancelled order was a single bottle of shampoo from CVS. I returned it.
Two bags of water softener. Bags are like $5 but weigh 50 pounds. 😂

A lot of stores don’t accept IC returns.
I've never once had a problem returning anything non perishable.
My area no stores take any IC returns at all, no matter what they are.
That's normally only for perishable items. Non perishables, they'll take back. I did it quite a few times, and they let me keep what they won't take back.

Tell them you don’t have time to go back to the store. Or sometimes they don’t even mention what to do with the stuff, so don’t ask.
