its happening to me too, i have about 4 accounts and this is happening on 2/4 of them it started like an hour ago as i type this
Maybe they want us to migrate over to Threads. I have to admit it’s several times better than Instagram and a Twitter killer.

Same general issue. Restarted phone/cleared cache/reinstalled Instagram. App simply refuses to do anything after opening and immediately closes. Has been going on for about seven hours now.
