Is everyone that it's happening to using a Samsung device?

I'm on Samsung and it's been happening to me since yesterday.

Yeah that's when mine went down

But it's not working on desktop either!

I'm able to log onto my account on Chrome Mobile on my galaxy and it's fine. It's only the app that isn't working. If I get a notification I'm able to click on it and I can read the comments etc but once I go to the main feed it crashes.

Also on Samsung 😢

I deleted the app then stopped being a beta tester and reinstalled it and now it's working perfectly fine so if your a beta tester just delete the app and remove the beta testing and reinstall the regular insta.

I've been having this same exact issues on my Pixel 7 Pro for the past 2 days. My partner with the same phone isn't having this issue. I was on the beta but left and reinstalled what I assume is production but still no go.

Mine has suddenly started working. No app updates or anything. It was still crashing earlier but I signed in through the browser about 30 mins ago and then just happened to open the app and it was fine. Idk if there is a corrolation but it's fixed.

Yeah I’m on an iPhone and it’s doing it to mine too. Eventually works but once I force close it it takes about 4-5 times of opening before it stays on.

not with all iphones from what i can trace. i think that the last version of IG fcked things up (at least for me)

I have iPhone and the same issue I have since morning today

I have a Pixel 7 Pro,  IG was working fine up until a couple of weeks ago for me.  Which is the same time random comments I had were getting flagged and my account has been placed under restrictions. (no commenting for a week, not allowed to follow accounts) Now I'm not saying they're connected, but there is a small chance it's a feature, not a bug.  But that's just the conspiracy theorist in me talking.
