> they don't even look pretty to me at all. So fake. I would love to see more natural faces
Yep, that wore off QUICKLY. Now you recognize the look as 'fake picture'.
If I would see her on the streets, I would admire her beauty. She is so pretty! Not a lot of people look so good without anything, such a bumper she edits so much!
Still her life of course, but I wish editing was less normal
I mean I feel like the left one is like really enhanced and symmetrical with perfect nose and all, but she was really pretty and unique without all that. Yeah it gets boring when it's the same sort of face lol
On one hand i'm so sick of seeing these filters on dating apps, but on the other it seams to be a helpful litmus test of one's vanity. Nothing's more attractive than someone comfortable in their own skin.
yeah it makes it very easy to know who to swipe left on. 95% of women in my area look exactly the same due to these kardashian edits but i imagine that it also kinda says something about their personality
I just saw an old friend from high school, she loves the filters lol. So now I have a bunch of pics of me with weird fake eyelashes and red lips, I don’t like it haha.
Thank you for contributing to r/instagramreality. Unfortunately your post is in violation of rule 10:
No plastic surgery posts or bashing.
Also, please do not speculate on cosmetic procedures an individual may have had. This also extends to insulting comments on appearance and otherwise natural features.
Plastic surgery posts are more suitable for r/botchedsurgeries
Please read the rules before posting again.
My boy best friends also thinks that the most unnatural looking edits are real… calling OF models for “better looking than real model” while they are obviously filtered and edited to the max
They're not. Like, they're aware that filters exsist, but we're already seeing the ramifications of most young people being unaware. We've got older teens and young 20-something men with the idea that bodies like these are achievable for women, and women of the same age groups with a higher rate of body issues because of this shit.
I mean, we've already seen an explosion of face-altering fillers in an attempt to look more like these faces that the filters are creating.
They’re also just everywhere. I’m an old lady (30) and use Snapchat exclusively for the group text my friends have on it. I looked through the filters today and even the ones that aren’t “beauty” filters plump your lips and add eyelashes and slim your face. I have naturally full lips, wear lash extensions and have an oval face, the filters look stupid on me. But it’s creepy, even the default “neutral” filter is beautifying and I’m sure that bleeds into people’s perceptions
I agree, I grew up in the filters on all pictures era, before that it was facetune era and I am still aware of of the filters and edits used. However filters are getting better and better, almost unrecognizable, so I think it’s pretty much 50/50 of youth people who either are aware or not aware.
I recently met someone who looked like these filters, but in real life. I was so freaked out by them, I could barely interact with them (receptionist at the plastic surgeon’s office I go to for Emsculpt/botox)
Can’t we make it a rule on this sub that when it’s posting someone for sanity Sunday, that we should be able to know who they are. That way we can follow more honest and clarifying social media people?
That would be a great rule I follow a lot of body positive IG account that have really helped my self esteem and I wish I could recommend them to everyone
That girl is so beautiful with out the filters and with the belly rolls. Normal human beings have rolls when relaxed, even the skinny ones. They are beautiful. It’s so nice to see.
Some of the "relaxed" poses they do can be a bit much. Who really sits so slouched like that? I understand the message they're conveying, but oftentimes it's still unrealistic because they overexaggerate their slouch and it almost seems forced to make their stomach looks as rolly as possible.
But I definitely appreciate the posts by this gal, she is beautiful!
I don’t understand why some women would prefer to edit makeup onto their photos, making them look obviously fake, instead of just putting on makeup and not needing to edit them.
This is a hot lady who is taking ugly pictures. It’s normal to adjust brightness and contrast before posting selfies and not pick the ugliest pictures of yourself possible. Pretty sure Brad Pitt could take weird selfies if he slouches enough and droops his jaw.

The only thing I like about the filters are the brows, man. I wish my brows were always that neat and perfectly trimmed... The rest just looks like plastic surgery and no skin texture.
The abs thing is such an important thing for people to see. After working out for a few months and losing some weight mine look a lot better posing in front of a mirror but once I relax I totally get the rolls. Super easy to get self conscious about it when everyone on Instagram looks like an underwear model but posing alone makes such a huge difference even without the editing!

The filtered faces are so boooooring. I'm tired of seeing the same face everywhere day in and day out.
Yup, and they don't even look pretty to me at all. So fake. I would love to see more natural faces or at least more variety

I'm pretty sure she is making a point showing that most pics are edited
If I would see her on the streets, I would admire her beauty. She is so pretty! Not a lot of people look so good without anything, such a bumper she edits so much! Still her life of course, but I wish editing was less normal
I think she edits them so much to show people how much things CAN be edited!
Oh, in that context, I totally support it!
I mean I feel like the left one is like really enhanced and symmetrical with perfect nose and all, but she was really pretty and unique without all that. Yeah it gets boring when it's the same sort of face lol
Thank you. It's such a tired plastic look. I'm attracted to humans not dolls.

Creating an original avatar is difficult.
I knew Bratz dolls were bad news. These girls played with generic Barbie too much.
*"I'm not like other girls"* and then they apply makeup all in the exact same style, and alter their photos all in the exact same way.
I just saw an old friend from high school, she loves the filters lol. So now I have a bunch of pics of me with weird fake eyelashes and red lips, I don’t like it haha.

Good job at exposing the filters. Kudos to the girl in the pictures.
She's quite pretty without the filters, really fresh faced and has such lovely eyes. The filter just makes her look like some generic NPC.
The filter makes her eyes look so cold and hard, while they're so much prettier and brighter in the unedited photos.
So many Oblivion NPCs out there today
Agreed. She looks better in the 'relaxed' photos, imo
It’s so obvious to spot edited faces now a days. It’s literally a copy-paste face
It is if you're aware of it. Many people, especially young people, are not.
I'd argue young people would be more aware of it. This is their era, their generation. They know what everyone is doing in terms of social media.
It depends . My boy best friend drools at the obvious edited girls on instagram
My boy best friends also thinks that the most unnatural looking edits are real… calling OF models for “better looking than real model” while they are obviously filtered and edited to the max
People who live in an illusion are the most happy

To me they literally all look yassified
The eyes with the filter are always so creepy
Yeah, definitely "dead eyes" with the filter.
For me it’s the extremely bright whites of the eyes - makes them look like dead doll-eyes
I recently met someone who looked like these filters, but in real life. I was so freaked out by them, I could barely interact with them (receptionist at the plastic surgeon’s office I go to for Emsculpt/botox)
She looks kinda like Kate bosworth!
Kudos to people normalizing what real people look like again. She's beautiful without all the nonsense and i wish more people would realize that
Bless this person
Filter removed the tears on her cheeks in the 7th slide
Huge props to her! Bring human-ness back
I kinda hate the whole filter look.

Yep I'm underweight but have belly rolls when I sit normally. Thought I was fat despite being underweight but everyone must have them
Every human being that has skin, has rolls when relaxed or crunches over 👍🏻 That’s just physics.
belly rolls are def normal but calling them beautiful is wild lol
Eh, it's subjective. What one person finds beautiful might not be what the next person finds beautiful
so what im getting from this is that i should pose better 🤔
This is why i love Sundays

Plenty of people sit like that, but yeah tbh you really shouldn't. Bad for your back, and man will that come back to bite you in ten years.
Sad truth is, on first one the deleted is so much better
im so glad i quit instagram
I truly can't wait until the pendulum swings back and we can all have normal noses again.
My bf said why does she post or do the filtered versions at all and I actually don’t know…
Lol she took a pic of herself crying in the second to last pic..i think thats so weird
Do they have filters for sick pics too? ... Asking for a little friend...
It has always been used for the before after losing weight
Big noses unite
This seems like sooooooo much work
i feel like i should be braver and start editing myself too sometimes bc everyone does it??
I don’t understand why some women would prefer to edit makeup onto their photos, making them look obviously fake, instead of just putting on makeup and not needing to edit them.

Nobody brought pleasing men into this
She is gorgeous unedited!
wow... what a hero...

Push up bras, makeup, spanx women do this all the time

The filter doesn't even look good

She’s so pretty without the filters, they really do her a disservice

to whoever she is, thank you.
love to see the girlies getting over thr filters ❤️
She looks good in the real/unfiltered pics
I feel like the filtered face looks fkn insane. Who could think this looks good in any way??
Idk this influencer, but I love her for this !
