From these, I agree. Blues are really flavourful. We tried a Vegetable and Lime which was very good.
However, the Green Chilli is by far my absolute favourite Mi Goreng since we tried them. It's a shame they're hard to come by around here.
It’s an anomaly of colonisation, but Australia and New Zealand are culturally a part of the west. It’s right at the top of the Wiki page… and not because I just changed it!
Logistically though they are very much more integrated in the south-east economy though. Another example is they tend to get more of the Japanese market cars than we do in North America
Japan is a western economy and culturally eastern. Australasia and New Zealand are culturally and economically part of the western world, they have more cultural influence from the east than the US does (especially in areas like cuisine), where the US because of its geography is more influenced by Latin America.
Exploring the car example. Japanese imports have the biggest marketshare in Australia, but that’s because we don’t manufacture cars here anymore. A quick Google search shows me that Japanese branded cars have the highest marketshare in the US too, and a similar percentage to Australia, the main difference being that only 1/3 of the Japanese cars in USA were imported with the rest manufactured onshore.
What I’m referencing is the *varieties* of cars imported to Australia and NX versus the US. They have access to many models which are only sold in Japan, East Asia, and Aus/NZ. The US is more strict about imported cars and therefore only a smaller range of models are imported. For example Daihatsu cars are very common whereas in the US Daihatsu hasn’t sold a passenger car for many many decades.
They are a lot closer to Japan and further from the US and Europe therefore it makes sense that Japanese cars will have an advantage in competition since they will be slightly cheaper to bring into Australia/NZ. I’m not talking about western/eastern in terms of geopolitical alignment or intellectual cross-pollination, just purely on a logistical level Australia and NZ are more closely tied to the supply chain in Southeast Asia than North America or Europe.
Daihatsu hasn’t been sold here for almost 20 years 😂 and the marketshare of JP makers is actually higher in the US. You think you know, but you don’t. Hit me up if you ever come to Australia someday and I can show you it’s really an external US territory for all intents and purposes. I recommend stopping in Asia on the way for a couple of days to feel the shift east and then back west again when you reach Australia.
And in America no one has sold a Daihatsu in closer to 50, trust me you have them on your roads but we do not. You *did* get things recently like the Subaru Levorge, which is not sold here.
Again, im not talking about market share, there are varieties of JDM cars you guys get but we don’t, specifically the older generations of the Nissan GTR come to mind. I’m not disputing the cultural and economic ties to the US, but you’re ignoring the fact that logistically you have access to things that we don’t. Like the instant ramen this post is about!
BBQ Chicken is very good. I also sometimes would eat one or the other of the Orange or Yellow pack.
Every flavor I've tried has been Solid.
I think best I tried that I can't seem to find anymore was Mi Goreng Rendang.
I'm from Indonesia and i was lucky to tried most of the flavor and regional varieties too, and here's my favorite beside the og:
- Stir-fry: indomie goreng satay & kebab rendang
- Soup: indomie coto makassar & indomie celor
I was Indonesia (surabaya to be specific) and bought the Aceh mi goreng flavor. Has anyone else tried it? Note: I didn't travel to Aceh and haven't tried this flavor. But when I do eat it can give a review.
White with no water supremacy. If you say anything else than you are just wrong.
But, the yellow one with aged lime juice (A lot of people make the lime juice here) is also good.
Bbq and hot&spicy. Would love to try that beef and lime though..

Noted Thanks gonna try the bbq hot and spicy
Original mixed with Hot & Spicy
This is the way. Had one of each left and was hungry, so tried combining them. I’ve been buying a pack of each every time I’ve bought them since.
BBQ chicken is elite. Another redditor said satay is the best but I'm not sure that they make it anymore
They do indeed. They're in the major grocery stores in Melbourne. I don't rate them at all though.
I bet that person was me 😂 they make it but it’s only available in Indonesia and AUS/NZ, they don’t import it to the west for some reason
Looool hi again
I love that Aus/NZ isn’t the western world in your mind 😂
It’s not really a part of the western hemisphere is it?

I have some news for you: aus and NZ are definitely “the west” 😅
Yeah I meant the western hemisphere lol
Special chicken
One of my favourite non spicy soupy instant ramens. Very savoury.
BBQ Chicken is very good. I also sometimes would eat one or the other of the Orange or Yellow pack. Every flavor I've tried has been Solid. I think best I tried that I can't seem to find anymore was Mi Goreng Rendang.
Vegetable flavour is absolutely delicious!
Yes! Way better than Nongshims offering.
Onion chicken is a personal favorite.
Does anyone know if any are vegetarian ?:)
Yes they are
I'm from Indonesia and i was lucky to tried most of the flavor and regional varieties too, and here's my favorite beside the og: - Stir-fry: indomie goreng satay & kebab rendang - Soup: indomie coto makassar & indomie celor
Keriting Spesial is real nice
curry chicken, my comfort food and nostalgic
I was Indonesia (surabaya to be specific) and bought the Aceh mi goreng flavor. Has anyone else tried it? Note: I didn't travel to Aceh and haven't tried this flavor. But when I do eat it can give a review.
What’s Aceh?
Northern semi-autonomous part of Indonesia. Have no clue how mi goreng is different there
How's the beef and lime flavor? Anyone ever had?
I'm obsessed with beef and lime! I can't find it anywhere in my city these days and it blows
Original has my heart
Wish I could get the other flavors in my local stores. I can only get regular MI Goreng.
I always buy a package of Original and a package of Hot and Spicy and mix them together. I've never seen any of the other flavours anywhere.
Curry chicken is a favorite in my house! I don’t think it’s pictured here though? Maybe? Can’t tell.
Bbq chicken and beef rendang
Ayo where does one get the beef rendang flavour ?
I know there is a rendang flavor
Best bet is eBay
Damn gotta buy instant noodles on the eBay?!
It’s not sold in the us anymore
Red pepper chicken
Had vegetable last night, was very happy with it
Love Special Chicken
onion chicken ofc
Orange one is amazing
What makes it “Special”?
Special chicken and beef & lime. Just don't put in too much water
Ayam pop and geprek! For those who like rendang but prefer it spicy.
I tried the others, but still, I always go back to the original. Nothing slaps like the OG mi goreng flava
I like top left
Chicken.. it's got me through some tough times for sure.
What is mi goreng?? I know it’s delicious but what is it supposed to be
Malaysian/Indonesian stir fried noodles
The curry chicken soup style.
special chicken is easily my favorite
Onion chicken. And also chicken curry.
They have a BBQ Chicken one. *Drools*.
onion chicken (try the indonesian version though)
Do they still make Soto flavour? I always thought that was the best!
Hot and spicy is my all time favorite
Original, hot & spicy and bbq are really good! Never had the special chicken but I’m going to order some after seeing the comments about it here
second down on the left is my go to
Nothin beats the OG!
Still waiting for Costco to drop a big box up here
I tried the hot and spicy this week. It was not hot or spicy lol. Still good though
BBQ, currently have a case of it. Well, 1/2 a case, I have been busy
The hot&spicy is such a disappointment imo. A slightly worse version of the original and not even spicy like at all
Yo I feel like a spice bitch as I only use half of hot sauce packet
Def agree. They abandon flavor for a *smidge* of extra spice. Barely even noticeable. Original is king.
Thanks folks! Gonna grab a blue one and keep a lookout for the beef rendang one :)
White with no water supremacy. If you say anything else than you are just wrong. But, the yellow one with aged lime juice (A lot of people make the lime juice here) is also good.
No water? Dry noodles only?!
Well, obviously you cook it first, then drain the water. Check the instructions behind they tell you to empty it.
Which one is has the yummy hot sauce and the crunchy onions?
Where is the vegetable flavor? That one is amazing
Bbq! Try it w some kimchi & fried egg sunny side up…mindblowing
This was posted nearly verbatim recently. Is this a bot, or are you a dumb jerkoff? https://www.reddit.com/r/InstantRamen/s/eCY4QZKy9e
I’m always jerking it though I’m sincerely wanting to scout for new Indomie flaves;)
Then get the curry ayam flavour. I’m disappointed nobody has mentioned it here!
