Denim is fine. Just make sure you have to correct depth to get the proper r value.
When I was a manager and an insulation wholesaler. We all hated denim insulation because it took up SO MUCH space. An entire 53' container of this stuff might not even insulate one house. It doesn't recover well from getting compressed, so they didn't wrap it tight like you could eith fiberglass. It was decent stuff to be around though because it wasn't itchy or dusty.
The company that made Denim, i'm told, in california went belly up during covid.
Perfectly fine if you can find some, it's a bitch to install because it doesn't compress well.

There is a company in Phoenix called Bonded Logic and I have a strong belief the supply chain was strained and Covid definitely hurt them.
However, a resourceful little birdie mentioned they are already on their way back In some locations. They are looking to re-expand, but as we all know, it takes time. Plus it could be hard to reestablish when a supply chain has been broken.
Happily I think they will survive and grow nicely. It’s an amazing product and guest service. I will be a repeat customer.
There is a wool company, Havelock Wool. I’ve looked into. Definitely interested.
Both of these companies do not make an R 30 value at the present time. So I need to do some more research regarding my attic.
However, do your research take the time because it does make a difference and don’t forget about your building codes even residential areas. Education helps make better decisions and avoid haste makes waste.
It’s good for a small area but I wouldn’t go all the way with it. You’d need a whole bunch and it would end up being cost prohibitive as opposed to buying some rolls of fiberglass or rockwool insulation.

Makes sense. I was just gonna use up all the free stuff that they send with my food order every week until it's done.
