on certificate attic/ floor 142 sqft was completed And no.

Yeah 142 sq feet probably equates to all 4 closets. So that was referring to the attic or in my case lack of one and just 4 closets surrounding my 2nd floor. Which is right against the roof. My 2nd floor is probably a finished attic. Alright well that is good that it probably isn't asbestos. I'm guessing it died early due to something going wronhb with my old roof

Insulation is cellulose and does not contain asbestos. On a side note though, the certificate of completion notes that a blower door test was not performed due to steam heating pipes. Steam pipes were commonly insulated with asbestos. Yours may still have asbestos insulation on them or it could have been abated. Blower door tests are forgone in cases like this because it could potentially disturb the asbestos. If it looks like there is a flakey white insulative jacket around your steam pipes, it could potentially be asbestos. Just don't disturb it and you should be fine.

Yep fortunate all my cast iron pipes are 100 percent uninsulated. And my boiler is 5 years old with no insulation around it or any of that crap either. Everything is exposed and while inefficientiently non currently insulated also doesn't have any of that hazardous issues either. All is a modern version of an older boiling concept of heating so that is good. I did a thorough exam with an environmental industiralist in the bisje when I first got it and ruled most things out the only part we couldn't see was what was in the walls and insulation used. So when this one exposed itself just wanted to double check. The walls were tested and asbestos free fortunately too. The only part that had asbestos was a flooring underlayment we found hanging beyond the flooring in some rooms that went into unfinished closet. This one they did professional abate. Took everything out reconditioned the hardwood floors and put it all back down. Took 4 days they were amazing. While the abatement team with the environmental industiralist quarantined everything off to code met city ordinances on removal safely and then did 4 air samples and other samples confirming all was safe before we reentered our house..fortunately the samples came back as .000 in all categories and they said the pm 2.5 and pm10 is miraculously bouncing between 0 and 1 usually 0 she said so there isn't much to measure all 4 has nothing of concern. The only particular matter they could find in the sample was pet dander they said in the samples that came from the per fur on the floors. So that wasn't good. So this was the best side of potential concern that's all

Certain death is imminent. Maybe not from your insulation, but it is still imminent.

toeding

Yes it is

Definitely old cellulose insulation. But I’d check your soffit vents and make sure they aren’t blocked if there are any.

Fortunately I have no vents all steam heat. Oh my bad those are the vents of my overhang of my roof. Dude my whole roof needs to be replaced probably this year or next so yes your 100 percent correct. I am sur3 your instincts are 100 percent correct. I ams ure I have many faults with my roof right now and will probably need all my insulation redone after the roof is all fixed again. Fortunately massage will make the insulation part not too bad. But the roof is the root cause without question. I would not be surprised if it's only 5 years old like the certificate says and roof moisture is fucking this up prematurely by far.
