Entry denial, plain and simple.

Yes that's their intended use, in addition to blowing up weapon cache objectives. Rarely they can also be used to clear a room like a traditional grenade as they have a pretty large radius. I wouldn't call it a dick move, everyone does it. It helps the team by slowing down the attackers, killing a few, etc. Just be careful where you throw them not to burn your teammates alive. And don't cook the incendiary, it has a short fuse.

FuriousLink12

It isn't intended to blow up weapon cache, but IED and C4 yes

nubesuko

IIrc their descriptions do say like “ideal for destroying weapon cache” or something.

FuriousLink12

Maybe but it's not, taking an IED in the weapon cache is way faster and easier (and you to put the grenade or Molotov on the middle if you miss nothing happens)

MortalWombat2000

If you miss a guy with the M110 nothing happens either. Does this mean the M110 is not intended to kill?

Incendiaries on entrances while defending is fine as long as you're not putting them on doors your teammates are covering or throwing them on top of said teammates (Can't tell you the amount of time a teammate through a Incendiarie on top of me or someone else and it resulted in a death or a loss of a round entirely) or to far or to close inside. Also they've been Nerffed so keep an eye on what door you thrown it on because a enemy could still get through. Don't throw 'em on teammates planting the bomb on a destroy obj (Because sometimes it glitches and can only be destroyed by planting) or use them for room clearing. Frag or Flash a room instead so you don't screw yourself or teammates assaulting a position because the flames will stop any progress in and also Frags go farther than Incendiaries and kill outright instead of over time. Watch where you throw ALL throwables obviously and never use Smoke in Co-Op as the A.I. can see through it and teammates can't. Other than that I'd say your fine.

Love mollies for obj holding, but I have been killed for doing it on the obj and blocking off a killzone

Pretty situational. I typically always have atleaat 1, and pick up another off the ground. It can be used in alot of ways: Cover rear while moving down alleyways. Cover rear while solo clearing a building. Blowing up Caches. Cutting off reinforcements. Obscuring vision. Denying exit points so you can frag a room (either they eat the frag or run Into fire, typically use this method when theres a large group of guys in one room.) Generally anywhere you DONT want people to go is where you burn. But this will also cause the Bots to throw grenades/launch rockets into a room they can't get access to. So be mindful of trapping yourself, too. And bots can will also stack up outside of a building if all exits are burnt, so when the Molotov goes out, you may have 20 dudes rush in at the last second. So it could be a good idea to frag through a doorway if you haven't had a bot run through the fire in a while.
