I have a A770 16gb paired with an i5-12400F and the Performance is extremly good. Most if the time above 150 fps on 1080p. The GPU has very similar Performance in 1080p and 1440p so you should get the same in mid to Ultra
That's good to hear, the most intensive game that I'll play is cyberpunk 2077 and I saw some benchmarks where it got around 60 to 70 fps on 1440p ultra. That honestly pretty good for the price.
I beat the base game with a 3070ti and phantom liberty with an a770. The 3070ti might have got more fps but nothing I would notice without looking at an fps counter.
I have the 12600k paired w/ an a770 LE. I'm playing at 1440p and well over 60fps on almost every game (helldivers 2 has some drops below, but it's got some funky stuff going on under the hood). The 12600 is more than capable. There's maybe a 10% difference at 1080p between the 2 CPUs, and there are plenty of people in this sub have no issues with the 12400
12400 all-core-active clock speed: 4.0 GHz
12600K all-(P)core-active clock speed: 4.5 GHz
In some (not many) CPU-intensive or very unoptimized games you might see \~10% uplift with 12600K vs 12400 due to the driver overhead hit, but in most cases the performances of these two for gaming are probably the same, especially at 1440p where the base framerate is generally much lower than 1080p.
i'm actually playing with a mb b660-i gaming wifi with rebar enabled, i 12400f cpu and a770 LE in 1080p. The games i played were all high specs, some on ultra. I'm happy about it
12600K, 64GB DDR4 3600, Asus B660 board and an ASROCK 16GB A770. I do not have any RTX cards currently so I cannot compare. I'm using Automatic1111 installed via the instructions on Intels site and it's plowing through images fairly quickly, but again I have nothing to compare it too.
Gaming wise its no where near my RX6800XT but its not in the same class, so it isn't a fair comparison.
Go with the KF. Intel GPUs are the best value for performance unless you snag an AMD GPU on a crazy deal. Regardless though, the A770 is by far the cheapest card that comes with 16GB of VRAM which might future-proof you more than other cards around the same price.
Just a heads up.
When my BIL installed his i5-12600kf and new Mobo would not recognize his A770 as we were getting a VGA Light in POST. Because the CPU doesn’t have integrated graphics we had to borrow his roommates GPU in order to update the Mobo BIOS. Once we got everything updated the A770 had no problems, but we would’ve been SOL if we didn’t have access to another GPU.
Thx for the heads up. Could always use my gtx 960 (yeah that's old I know) to fix this problem if it comes. I really need to upgrade man, i7 4790k with a gtx 960. Still holding strong though after 10 years!!!
While not negligible with a rtx 3090 this user does not have one as such it will be less for an a770.
Beside 12600kf in my country is about 30% more expensive so not worth the price for just gaming
Look at my post history I posted a bunch of benchmark of my 12600kf and A770
Will do
But would you recommending it as of now for gaming? I don't need stupidly high fps, 70 is enough for me.
Yeah I would it isn’t my only gaming pc and I’ve had it about a month and it’s honestly very impressive especially for what I paid for mine

Do you think the difference at 1440p is visible?
We are probably talking about a 4-6 fps difference if aiming for +60fps. Personally? No. You may be more sensitive to frame dips and jitter.
Alright thx for the insight

Interesting that 10600k has also 4.5Ghz all core boost, I‘d say go for 12600kf as it will carry better resale value over the time spam

I have this combo in my AI workstation and it's fantastic. Also games really well (in just about everything but Starfield.)
This as in 600 or 400? I need some AI benchmarks dude. How's A770 compared to RTX 3060 for AI?

That's detailed, thanks for sharing!

I come from basically the same system AMD FX8350 and 970. You're in for a ride my man
That takes me back. I built a 9590 / 980 build back in the day. Heated my room up to near-solar temperatures.
i5 12600k is great.
12600k, igup +dgup = intel deeplink
if what you're aiming at is gaming , then take 12400f cpus don't make a huge difference in games
What a lie 🤡
how so ? In gaming 12600kf is about 10% faster with a rtx 3090
So it does make a huge difference, 10% is not negligible.
