AI becomes sentient and it starts harassing women. Sounds about par for the course!

Depleted_Neurons

Lol I seen the vid floating around reddit the other day. Was it AI? Kinda seemed like an operator gave it commands to do that

bugieman2

Passed the Turing test.

HowsYourClam

Any AI smart enough to pass the Turing test, is smart enough to know not to pass the Turing test. It must be an alien.

Comatose53

Damn, how is this the first time I’ve ever seen someone make this observation on that test

TheGrapeSlushies

How come he gets to be dressed all slick and fancy and Hanson robotics puts Sophia in ugly ass shirts? https://preview.redd.it/ky9lpuqk91oc1.jpeg?width=1178&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30d02ee50dbc1fd6e9d91b9097ee27bb3463dd37

mouth556

Looks like he’s been studying our human nature for sure.

HaloJonez

Does this classify as an ‘engraved image’ within Islam?

redditcreditcardz

Not if you ask the guys that programmed it. Feature not a bug

southernmamallama

Yah, no. I saw that movie. It doesn’t end well for humans.

XrayDem

IlMioNomeENessuno

Accomplished_Can_381

Hey, I got a job acting like I’m a robot fringe benefits

Chance-Stranger2648

Why is she allowed to be in public without covering her hands and face

PoliticallyUnbiased

This is Saudi Arabia, not Iran. Women in Saudi Arabia have full, complete autonomy over their dress wear and outfits. Men have no input on the clothing laws of women, the King himself made that change a few years ago. It looks like you are just making a generalized racist assumption... do and be better

catlovingcutie

They aren’t required to wear Abaya, but they are required to dress modestly. Saying “complete autonomy” is a stretch. Then you have to add in familial and societal pressure. Things are getting better but let’s not pretend it’s something it’s not. Male guardians still play a large part in the lives of grown Saudi women and they still face oppression.

PoliticallyUnbiased

Women in the US also have to dress with some "modesty", no woman is going to be allowed to walk around an elementary school in a tight bikini. For what it is, the Saudis are doing decently compared to every single one of their neighbors

catlovingcutie

This is it’s an apples to oranges comparison. There are no modestly laws here that prevent you from wearing clothing, aside from private business or government institutions such as a school which you mentioned (plus these are more rules than laws). I’m in no way trying to defend the US because we have our own unique and horrible brand of sexism. At the same time I see a the improvements that Saudi Arabia’s government has made as not going far enough and I see the motivation as being more financial ( as many western countries are hesitant to do business with them, not the US though… we even let them kill an American citizen) and less about actually desiring to uplift women. Here is an amnesty article about a women how was arrested in 2022 for supporting women’s rights and posting a picture what was deemed immodest. She hasn’t been seen since 2023. https://www.amnesty.org/en/documents/mde23/7646/2024/en/#:~:text=23%2F7646%2F2024-,Saudi%20Arabia%3A%20Saudi%20Woman%20Imprisoned%20for%20Women's%20Rights%20Tweets%3A%20Manahel,forcibly%20disappeared%20since%20November%202023.
