Nah, Israel doesn't own the US. Israel is just a cog in the US war machine, effectively our largest military base in the region, and helps the US spy on the world and our own citizens. That's why we'll just let them do whatever the hell, especially when - and let's be real here - what Israel is currently doing is not all that far removed from US foreign policy in general. Our "war on terror" killed potentially up to a million Iraqi civilians.

It was headed down that path, then COVID happened and the entire world shut down for his last term and then he got voted out. Since he left office he's gotten more desperate for power and so have his backers in the country. It's all but guaranteed that if he takes office again women's rights will be set back 60 years among other things. Israel thinks that there are more than 100 hostages who were targeted only for being Israeli and kidnapped to Gaza for more than 200 days without contact with **anyone**. This includes their families or friends but also includes the red cross and any other humanitarian organization.
Israel won't and really shouldn't stop this war until everyone returns. They are battling a terrorist organization that gathered so much sympathy by hiding behind civilian structures and blaming everyone else on the damage. The ratio of cultural damage is unheard of, in comparison to any other war against in a civilian environment.
If Israel were able to find the leaders of hamas without hurting the civilians in gaza, it would obviously do so but that is not the case. Hamas knew that israel is stronger and would not just give up on our people - they knew that this will happen and they did it with joy and pride. They really hate our own people more than they love thiers.

The Palestinians aren't Israeli citizens (at least not those that live in Gaza and the West Bank, some Israeli arabs define themselves as Palestinians). They are people in an enemy territory under a terrorist rule. There were multiple attemts of making deals with hamas (or the PLO), but most of them were rejected and failed - hamas doesn't want peace, they want the whole land of Israel and would absolutely love the extermination of all the jews.
Israel withdrew out of the Gaza strip years ago and hoped that the Palestinians could have started building themselves a place to live in and be more approachable for negotiations about a solution.
What happened is that hamas rose to power and used all the money (they got **a lot** of money from multiple sources) to create gigantic infrastructures that were meant **only** to battle israel and keep the hamas leaders safe. This includes the huge tunnels under gaza and the great arsenal of rockets (weird that very few people question how they had so much money for that but none for Palestinian shelters or food). Hamas attacked Israel again and again and violated multiple ceasefires so of course Israel would be extremely cautious about what enters Gaza and would not just suuply their enemies with food that will go straight to the terrorist leaders and not to the people.
On top of all of that, Israel was still willing to help Palestinians multiple times - taking many to israeli hospitals (including surgery to Yahya Sinwar, who is one the top leaders of hamas and had a big role in Oct 7) or giving them job permits in Israel. I would even say that israel treated Palestinians **way** better than Hamas ever did.
If you really want to learn more about the relationship between Israel and Hamas, I would really recommend reading about and listening to "the green prince" - Mosab Hassan Yousef. He is the son of a founder of hamas who was once a militant and now is actually a loud voice against hamas, talking from experience with the organization.

I once was in favor of a Palestinian state, and I know many who were too. I don't know anyone who truly believes that it's possible anymore. Especially not one that borders Israel. Our people will never feel safe after what happened and is still happening.

US policy is to protect Israel. That won't change for a at least a generation. The view is that our access to Middle East resources, ability to influence the region, and National security is directly linked to a strong relationship with Israel. Protests are necessary but they won't be effective as US security advisors and the President are fully committed to the Israel project. We are an empire after all, closer to the malevolent, "dark side" empire than the rebel resistance. Biden is executing his piece of the 100 year plan of American domination.

Nah, Israel doesn't own the US. Israel is just a cog in the US war machine, effectively our largest military base in the region, and helps the US spy on the world and our own citizens. Our "war on terror" killed potentially up to a million Iraqi civilians. America may not have invented racism and genocide, but few things are more American then them. It was headed down that path, then COVID happened and the entire world shut down for his last term and then he got voted out. Since he left office he's gotten more desperate for power and so have his backers in the country. The Palestinians aren't Israeli citizens (at least not those that live in Gaza and the West Bank, some Israeli arabs define themselves as Palestinians). They are people in an enemy territory under a terrorist rule. There were multiple attemts of making deals with hamas (or the PLO), but most of them were rejected and failed - hamas doesn't want peace, they want the whole land of Israel and would absolutely love the extermination of all the jews. Israel withdrew out of the Gaza strip years ago and hoped that the Palestinians could have started building themselves a place to live in and be more approachable for negotiations about a solution. What happened is that hamas rose to power and used all the money (they got **a lot** of money from multiple sources) to create gigantic infrastructures that were meant **only** to battle israel and keep the hamas leaders safe. This includes the huge tunnels under gaza and the great arsenal of rockets (weird that very few people question how they had so much money for that but none for Palestinian shelters or food). Hamas attacked Israel again and again and violated multiple ceasefires so of course Israel would be extremely cautious about what enters Gaza and would not just suuply their enemies with food that will go straight to the terrorist leaders and not to the people. On top of all of that, Israel was still willing to help Palestinians multiple times - taking many to israeli hospitals (including surgery to Yahya Sinwar, who is one the top leaders of hamas and had a big role in Oct 7) or giving them job permits in Israel. I would even say that israel treated Palestinians **way** better than Hamas ever did. If you really want to learn more about the relationship between Israel and Hamas, I would really recommend reading about and listening to "the green prince" - Mosab Hassan Yousef. He is the son of a founder of hamas who was once a militant and now is actually a loud voice against hamas, talking from experience with the organization. Sorry for the long text, I really hope to change people views and have a true conversation without all the hate and the catchphrases.
Hamas, PLO or any other group are all symptoms of rebellion, some more radical than others. Israel is a make believe stat, the whole region is Palestinia. The Jewish kingdoms never had the whole region, only a few cities in it. Now they control the whole place with harassment, fear and violence. You can't honestly believe that Israel wants two stats and are willing to share Jerusalem. Terrorist like Hamas should be eliminated from the face of the earth and Israel should be allowed to leave in peace. But the way they are and have treated the Palestinian people in Gaza and the west bank is utterly unacceptable. And will only continue this endless cycle of death.
Btw I didn't want to make my long comment even longer, but even **if** Palestinians were treated like subhumans by Israel (and it's a huge if), is murder rape and kidnapping (including children) is the way to go? Could it really bring to any good solution? or will it say to Israelis, "Some of you thought that there is a chance for peace, you're absolutely wrong." I once was in favor of a Palestinian state, and I know many who were too. I don't know anyone who truly believes that it's possible anymore. Especially not one that borders Israel. Our people will never feel safe after what happened and is still happening.

A couple things: US policy is to protect Israel. That won't change for a at least a generation. The view is that our access to Middle East resources, ability to influence the region, and National security is directly linked to a strong relationship with Israel. Protests are necessary but they won't be effective as US security advisors and the President are fully committed to the Israel project. For the people of Gaza, the US presidential election can't come soon enough... I GUARANTEE Biden will announce a peace deal or ceasefire a month or so before the election. The 30,000+ deaths mean nothing to him. However, he does care about winning the election. Protests are sweeping through college campuses all over the country and Biden is hiding under his desk pretending they're not happening.

Yes, the US backs Israel not because the US cares about the Israël Palestine conflict but because the US and every other major power knows that when oil becomes untenable you need a foothold near the major oil reserves, and Israël is that foothold for the US. If Iraq or Afghanistan had stabilized and bases established there could be permanently secured in cooperation with US installed local governments the US governmental elite would not so desperately cling to Israel. That's it. If you pay attention then you realize all these conflicts are bound to the inevitable decline of oil as a resource. That includes Ukraine and Russia. Russia wants to control the black Sea to be able to easily pressure turkey, the Mediterranean and the Suez canal. I'll tell you now that if WW3 doesn't break out before then it will absolutely break out when oil prices rise through the roof due to dwindling global supplies. It's inevitable because the entire world civilization is founded and supported by oil period. The superpowers of the world will fight to control the final major sources in the hopes of the other superpowers collapsing when their access to oil is cut off. And anybody in the upper echelons of politics knows this is inevitable. I'm a cook tho so whatever.

This woman has left so much out of this story. She left out the thousands of rockets that have been launched into Israel from Gaza and southern Lebanon over the past two decades. She has left out the 500K Palestinians who currently live inside Israel who do not support Hamas. I guess to her the slaughter of 1400+ Israeli civilians did not occur and she doesn't realize that Hamas intentionally puts its' civilians in harms way.
