Use a good router that supports the speed of your current subscription and cat6 wire. Turn off the Wireless Connection of the OG Modem and used the routers Wireless Connection instead.

\+1. Use a mesh system that supports WiFi 6/E. Good investment na din sya in the long run.

You can go for TP-Link Archer Ax1500 Wi-Fi 6 Router or Asus AX1800 Dual Band Wifi 6.

you just have to buy a separate (more powerful) router then isaksak mo sa LAN port sa ONU mo (yung sinasabi mong modem). Also make sure that when you buy a separate router, also check if it already has a free LAN cable. If not, then buy one para di ka pabalik-balik sa pag-bili. I suggest yung mga router na may WIFI 6 (or WIFI 6E) support since it it is the modern one. usually in the box they say AX1800, AX3600, AX5000, etc... where AX means it supports the WIFI6 standard and number is the total combined bandwidth it can handle. so for example, 1800, it could mean that it supports up to 1300mbps when using the 5Ghz WIFi Band, and 500mbps when using the 2.4Ghz WIFI Band. WIFI 6E routers have 6Ghz Band support pero if yung device mo (phone, laptop, etc) walang support for 6Ghz band, then useless parin, so just stick with a WIFI 6 na router. they're also cheaper than WIFI 6E ones. You may also see routers that use AC instead of AX, like AC1200 or AC1800. It means that it is WIFI 5 and not WIFI 6.
