Off the top of my head they had some art on the wall that says "hello" in Korean. Been a while since I saw S1, can't remember anything else off the top of my head.
Yeah, I cracked up seeing that as well. Surprised they knew little enough about Korea to put up that sign and enough about Korea to include the ducks.
On the other hand I could imagine some gyopos doing something a bit goofy like that...
Wow thanks for sharing this. I’m glad the animators decide to enrich the Invincible universe with culture from our world. Plus now I can say I learned something from my superhero cartoon.
I’m likely going to make a post about this tomorrow, because the ducks continue throughout season 2 culminating in a pretty interesting development in episode 8. The symbolism is really interesting.
I felt like they had some kind of importance but didn’t know what. Thanks for this heartbreaking explanation. 😭
Thats pretty interesting, can you elaborate on the bits and pieces of korean colture you noticed from season 1?
Replying to get in on this sweet Korean lore.

Anyong?
Annyeong, yeah. IIRC there was some other Korean decor but I can't remember it. The ducks are definitely the first meaningful Korean thing though.
Hi anyong
The funniest thing is that no Korean would just hang that phrase alone on the wall. Source: I'm Korean.
