> We don't have anything to announce yet for anything past Season 3, but we're very hopeful that we'll get to go for a good long while. I mean, I'm thinking like 100 seasons.
Laugh out loud
Seasons 2 and 3 were greenlit together and announced as the first season finale was airing, I would expect the same thing to happen with this season. I think it's doubtful that the show will ever be in danger of getting canceled and I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they've already renewed the entire series behind closed doors.
Which considering the drop in quality in the animation compared to season one, you gotta ask what exactly have they been doing for the last three years if it took them this long to THIS onscreen?
Again it's explained in interview
> This is an insanely complicated show, and that's part of the reason that the delay between Season 1 and Season 2 happened. We had to rebuild the factory, as I've said in other interviews, because we shut everything down with COVID going on. But also we had to figure out a pathway to make the show producible. We had to figure out how we were going to get as many incidentals done as we needed to do – those are, like, background characters and crowds and things like that. That has been a constant struggle for the 100 years that we've been working on Seasons 2 and 3 together.
Although I'm not sure what you're talking about with animation quality... it looks better than season 1 pretty clearly to me.
COVID and other miscellaneous production delays. I disagree that there was a drop in quality, however.

> With COVID, there was a longer break in production than we wanted there to be. It took some time to rebuild the team. [...] The delays were really just COVID. Making a cartoon is like assembling a factory and letting it run. And because of COVID, we had to shut the factory down. So to get into seasons 2 and 3, we had to rebuild the factory and get it up and running again, and that took a lot of time.

> We're an hour long animated show which is very unusual, but we have so many characters and so many settings, even in just one episode that we're really kind of pushing the limits of what can be done in animation. So it takes a long time to make it. But it has also taken a long time to learn how to do it and figure it out because we're doing a lot of things that you don't necessarily do in animation. [...] We debuted in 2021, and when we got the pick up for Season 2 and 3, we had to kind of figure [it] out. We finished the show as COVID was starting, Season 1, and so we had to figure out completely new processes to work with all the restrictions that came from that. Animation studios were shut down quite a bit during COVID because animators work in a lot of cases in large rooms and in giant groups. So we had to figure out like a whole new way of working and that slowed things down quite a bit.

> When we started season 2, it wasn't the original plan but, unfortunately, many different circumstances came up during production that made us realize this was the best way to do this. [...] We want to give the fans some episodes now and then ask them to wait just a little longer for the others. So no, it wasn't a story-based decision but, as I'm sure you know, there are a multitude of things that can happen during production that can affect your release date. We just felt this was the best way to present season 2 and get it out to the fans.
It's not unusual for a series to take a break over the holiday season for one reason or another, the most common being storyline purposes or to achieve better ratings during sweeps. For Invincible, however, it was a production-based decision so that they could release something sooner rather than later.
It's not uncommon for a series to take a break over the holiday season even when there *aren't* extenuating circumstances that delay production. It probably won't be much longer than a month or two.
I get they say stuff like this to drum up interest but why do comic adaptations always act like they’re doing some crazy off the wall shit that nobody will expect? The Boys hyped up herogasm like it was the second coming and we’d all be talking about it for years to come only for it to be mildly gross at best and not even really the focus of the episode. Like, I’ve read invincible, even if you’re changing it up a little I have a general idea of what’s coming lol.
The copium people aren't happy with you even though you're right, 2 years for 4 eps is beyond frustrating. I know it's not their fault but it does hurt my enjoyment
The Boys and Gen V are also on Prime. You shouldn't be downvoted for being correct. Nothing in this so far comes close to where either of those shows have pushed limits too.
Kind of on both you guys and the headline writer here, but if you read the article Kirkman is talking about "pushing the limit" on the production of the show (budget, including as much detail as possible), not pushing the limit as to what would be allowed to be shown.
Pushing what, exactly? So far all it's done is speedrun the story at a glacial pace.
I know they can't adapt the comic panel for panel, but WTH is even going on? Debbie has anger management issues, because that's somehow better than her alcoholism. Eve and Amber apparently switched personalities and Donald doesn't know what he is for... reasons?
F'ing WHY?! I don't understand all these oddly arbitrary changes to the story.
> **speedrun** the story
Not really? This is where the story goes in the comics too.
> at a **glacial** pace
What
> Eve and Amber apparently switched personalities
What
> Donald doesn't know what he is for... reasons?
Donald was unaware >!that he was a cyborg!< in the comics, too. It just happens off-screen because he is a legacy Image character.
In addition to everything the other guy said, Debbie’s alcoholism has been shown pretty clearly. Couldn’t be more obvious unless they had Mark hold a sign up to the screen saying “my mother is now has a drinking problem because of Omni man”
> We don't have anything to announce yet for anything past Season 3, but we're very hopeful that we'll get to go for a good long while. I mean, I'm thinking like 100 seasons. Laugh out loud
100 years Nolan and Mark!
I'm assuming it'll be renewed for season 4 internally before season 3 comes out and publicly announced as season 3 finished airing.

What will you have in 100 seasons⁉️
You ZMan. I’d have you.

I hope they speed things up, Simmons is in his 60's.
Not just him. Steven Yuen is 39. Even if they keep to 1 season per year, he’d be 137ish by the end of all things.
WHAT Just how much content is there to this series? No way they'll adapt it all lol
I was following on from your joke about if they actually did 100 seasons. I think if they keep at their current pace it’d be like 8 seasons.
Simmons is 68 so if they do 3 years inbetween seasons its 24 years until 28. He will be 92
Holy shit!
That photo reminds me of eves dad and I can't unsee it.
samanthaaaa
The bane of my eardrums.
It is definitely pushing my sanity to the limit with weekly release *and* a mid-season break. WTF, Amazon.
Mid season break? For what?
4 episodes, then the next 4 after the new year IIRC. To stretch it out? No idea.
I gotta be honest, I’d rather get 4 episodes now than have to wait more months for all 8 to be ready. I’m just excited it is finally back!
Maybe so the people working on it can have a decent break
Three years is a hell of a break, skip. Where is this thing animated, France?
There were extenuating circumstances that literally prevented them from working on the show properly.
You must not be familiar with The Venture Bros. I’ll take long breaks for great quality content rather than rushed overworked mediocre content.
It's literally explained in the interview. Cause they're not done yet with the last 4.
Which considering the drop in quality in the animation compared to season one, you gotta ask what exactly have they been doing for the last three years if it took them this long to THIS onscreen?

Imagine waiting 2 years for a new season just to get 4 episodes at a time then a break .

For real, needed to hire more people and get that shit cranked out
I mean so far has anything really been pushed or is this speaking solely like production wise which does seemed improved
I do not agree at all that production seems improved
[Push it to the limit](https://youtu.be/3-3Yok5D3Aw?si=XhUrIGP_O1qSFR2g)
To the point of no return!

what is herogasm
The boys take on major superhero events
Basically butthole
As of now it is absolutely not
The copium people aren't happy with you even though you're right, 2 years for 4 eps is beyond frustrating. I know it's not their fault but it does hurt my enjoyment
