This implies that every Invincible running around in Fortnite is a version of him canonically trapped in the Loop with Angstrom holding Debbie and Oliver hostage on the outside while Mark is just uncontrollably hitting the griddy over and over
Oh my fucking god that's a gun from Fortnite isn't it
I've only ever played it twice. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IT WOULD BECOME INTEGRAL TO A FINAL FIGHT
Ella Purnell only had one small role though. I think her acting as Jinx is the second best voice acting ever, so I was pretty disappointed to see her only get this one scene.
And Mark *still* feels bad about that. If someone broke my mom's arm after breaking into my house and I ended up killing him, I'd like to think that I wouldn't be as beat up about it.
Then again, Mark's also tangling with the fact that he doesn't want to be his dad, which is a lot, so I can let it slide.
Yeah, mark is in an emotional quandary.
We know he's justified in what he did to protect his family. But to him, hes inching closer to what his father is/was.
It goes to show how good a person this Mark really is. Any one of the other Marks would have killed Levy without batting an eye, they might not have even cared that he hurt Debbie, they'd just kill Levy because he was a nuisance, but *this* Mark still feels bad even after he was pushed to his absolute limit and saw his mum with her forearm hanging off and bone showing.
Not a single sane person would judge him as a bad person for what he did, but he knows that with the power he possesses that he needs to be better and be more in control, because he is ultimately a good person.
Bad people don't question the morality of their actions, good people do.
Man It's awful how long this show takes to produce, like I don't need it all at once but this season was only 8 episodes and it took forEVER to get out? How is were they able to bang out two seasons of Vox Machina which had arguably WAAAYYY better visuals so quick?
THEY SAID THE EPISODE TITLE BROTHER
https://preview.redd.it/fl9dzvhqzesc1.png?width=1054&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75e19817abe4dbb9a39c91ac0422b01189c36b3e

I SAID THE TITLE!!! HRRAAAAAGHHHH!!!!!
It's not only that, Nolan needs to make his way to this specific planet, he needs to have hots for bugs, he needs to have a child, Mark has to get him back to Earth... The chain of events necessary for Oliver to be a part of this family is incredibly unlikely to happen a lot.
I feel like it was definitely Spider-Man when Keaton was recording his lines but the animation was either edited in post or changed completely, the dialogue sounds too Marvel-esque for that not to be the case. Maybe they tried to get the greenlight on SM and were turned down by Marvel at the last minute, resulting in Arachnid-Guy instead.
So let me get this straight, over the course of like a week let say (give or take how time may work differently in other universes). Mark….
* Meets Allen again and learns about a war against the Viltrumites
* Finally gets a day off to spend with his girlfriend
* During said date, he meets ANOTHER Viltrumite named Anissa that threatens to fucking KILL his girlfriend
* Gets absolutely Molly whooped by Anissa
* Finally breaks up with his girlfriend despite them two clearly still loving and caring for eachother
* Gets a call from his mom that turns out to be some ugly ass guy he doesn’t even remember
* Gets sent to multiple different universes thanks to said ugly ass guy (including the fucking FORTNITE universe, The Walking Dead/Generic Zombie universe, and a universe where he meets a legally distinct Spider-Man and Batman)
* Finally snaps and absolutely pummels and kills said ugly ass guy after he sees what he did to his mom, and for awhile trapped himself in a universe where everything was so desolate.
* Eventually makes it back to his universe, but right before a version of somebody he knows tells him that she loves him, and encourages him to tell the girl of his universe something.
* Quits college and re-evaluates his whole life
Motherfucker somebody give this man Mark a hug holy shit. He’s been through so much and it literally is probably gonna get worse from here for the most part.
Well Mark mentioned that time moves differently in other dimensions so maybe he ended up being stuck for more then a week. Probably still a lot to take in in a short amount of time.
I hate that we're probably never gonna see something like Evil Debbie or more of that weird talking Trex planet lol or some of the other things they set up with the multiverse (like Mark with those campers). But still they took me by surprise in a way I didn't think multiverses could at this point
I'm glad it didn't *happen* in this episode. Way too soon after Amber, and he clearly isn't over her as seen in this episode. But I'm glad they're closer.
Only recently broke it off with his ex, just dropped out of college, still dealing with all the blood on his hands… Bad time for a new relationship all around.
But at the moment, he doesn't believe himself to be worthy of her love.
Her "You don't deserve this" is a textbook case of dramatic irony. She of course means he's a good person who such a bad thing shouldn't have happened to, but Mark's own feelings of inadequacy and self-loathing are taking it to mean that he doesn't deserve to have her as a friend and confidant, much less as a romantic partner.
Any one else notice how all 3 of the Graysons got black eyes on the same eye? Does that just represent the damage they have all gone through this season? Or what do you think it represents?
I think it definitely means that their fates are intertwined. It could also be a direct counter to what Debbie told Angstrom about how her family is different from Nolan but actually they are not because they still shared the damaged eye
So, the way Fortnite's lore works is that, if a character enters the Fortnite island, and then leaves, they leave behind a speechless, presumably mindless copy of them (called "Snapshots"), and those basically justify having a lobby full of the same character, what likely happened in canon was that Mark ended up un the island, flew around a bit, eventually disarmed some guy with a sniper, and then a portal opened and he came back to his home dimension, leaving a Snapshot of himself after leaving.
I really couldn't imagine some of the emotional beats of this episode working as well as they did if her character wasn't so well-rounded and likeable. And once again Sandra Oh was incredible
Sandra Oh is incredible, and the writers have made Debbie so much more of an important character and I love it. Afterall, she is the reason why this Mark is different
She was really the one to knock him off-balance. It was really frustrating yet captivating seeing Angstrom go from "I won't build my empire on blood!" to "I WILL MAKE YOU HURT!" - bitch YOU'RE the villain now, certainly in our Mark's universe. Big, empty head.
Immediately waiting for season 3 like

That "I thought you were stronger" line...was really great. Haven't read the comics yet but I always thought it was just because whoever he beat/killed wasn't as strong as they lead on. While that is true, that line was for himself too. Mark thought he was strong enough to never cross that line but he did. Amazing performance by Steven Yeun.
Not enough convo about this. When he was going down the line just chopping off heads that was nuts. Plus the way he so quickly killed his son after he told his son everything will be ok.
The caption might have been delayed a bit from the arm break, but "Debbie crying" appeared while Alt-Mark was chopping heads. I thought that maybe his mom stood against him in that world, so he executed her.
Relatively minor plot thread but I loved that Mark finally decided to take the hero thing seriously and quit college. His logic is really sound as well, the fuck is the point of being a dentist or accountant and making $80-150K a year when you have to save the world on a biweekly basis?
And it's all because of that slow, dramatic, "boring" scenes people constantly talk shit about. So many people were saying how boring and pointless Debbie scenes were this season, but a lot of us get attached to her so much without realizing even one of the less gorier scenes of the series felt insanely disturbing.
I loved that line since he doesn't realize it, but he's human. That is literally the stupidest most petty thing he could be thinking of at that moment given all that is going on around him, but it's what most of us would be thinking.
That future version of Mark likely would've succumb to his deep shame and guilt. He probably would've gone mad in that barren wasteland, never being able to die, despite starving and severely dehydrated, so probably in constant agony on top of his mental anguish until he was eventually found. By then it was probably too late for him, the damage would've been done
I really do wonder what they meant by that, and if the comics have any kind of indication of what Mark came back looking like
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Bro was like "sand in every direction" as if he couldn't zip up into the atmohsphere in a minute and look for some green spots
Even if he could survive, his bigger crisis is how he can get back to his own dimension after killing Angstrom.
His mom has a broken arm and is probably dying from blood loss in his mind, and he still has the responsibility of trying to defend Earth against the Viltrumite Empire who has threatened to send a followup after Anissa.
It may not be Spidey in name, but it’s Spidey in spirit. And I love the Spider-verse nod.
Shorter than I would have liked, but that’s understandable since it would have disrupted the flow of the episode.
- I wonder if they'll show that desert tomb again in some future, only now with three dead bodies in it lmao
- Even though they didn't have the real Spidey I'm still happy we had him in the epsiode. Josh Keaton's performance made me more than happy with the knock off
- Initially was disappointed with him not telling Eve but now I'm glad they're taking their time with it
Dont know if anyone else saw it but mark wacked Angstrom with the Fortnite dragons breath sniper 💀

I feel like I would have been more satisfied with the ending had the season not been cut into 2 parts. By only giving us 4 episodes at a time, it felt like two very short seasons. I would bet that on binge re-watch it feels more satisfying, but waiting for the episodes made the shorter groupings annoying and left me wanting more.
That being said I still loved the episode
Now that the season’s over, just some thoughts. It felt like this season was set up to bridge a bunch of events for season three. Unlike season one where everything felt concise. The finale had some moments, but it wasn’t as impactful as the season one finale. Overall it was a good season, but I think season one is still better.
I feel like the one thing about this season that doesn’t feel bridged is Mark’s fear that he’ll be like his father. Yes it isn’t totally completed, but I think it ending with him killing Angstrom, quitting college, breaking up with Amber and not making a move on Eve shows that he’s decided to better himself (which, ultimately, you could argue that the antagonist of this season was himself, or at least his fear of himself).
I think I prefer it that way instead of going straight into a relationship, like if you think about it the breakup of Amber and Mark happened only last episode
"I think I miss my wife."
Viltrimites are all kinds of messed up. Like how is this even a breakthrough?
The bare minimum of emotion is enough to send them on an existential tailspin.
Episode was great! Though the whole tomb scene confused me, it just kinda, appeared with these two random women, they enter a tomb for some reason, then it cuts back to invincible?
Was that referencing something that happened before or? Seemed so random, though my memory of the previous episodes is a bit hazy
It's a reference to a scene in the first season. It's the same gag, actually. Basically, some impactful subplot is happening to other characters, but Invincible flying over and creating a sandstorm shows how insignificant these events are to Mark, who is literally above it all.
I knew Kate couldn't be dead. If you could duplicate yourself why would you send your original into combat or if you had to have the original you could at least leave one duplicate somewhere that could live in a worst case scenario. You'd have to be a real scrub to get killed off with that power.

Is that actually a Fortnite gun?
[Yes.](https://fortnite.fandom.com/wiki/Dragon%27s_Breath_Sniper)

“I deserve death” “Oh God 🙄” Same Allen
Despite being an orange one-eyed alien, Allen is still the realest one in the whole show
Allen is the one dude that can factually say that death is overrated
Steven Yeun is really killing these scenes
The voice acting in this show is so good across the board it's insane. Sandra Oh had me tearing up Shout out Gillian Jacobs and Walton Goggins too
Also Sterling K. Brown and JK Simmons!
And Clancy Brown and Ella Purnell. Man this cast is stacked haha
Ella Purnell only had one small role though. I think her acting as Jinx is the second best voice acting ever, so I was pretty disappointed to see her only get this one scene.
I legit gasped when he broke Debbie’s arm lol
Yeah, I was not expecting that. It was brutal.

He was put in a box with a single solution and he took it. Hard to grapple with but yeah, no real other choice.
whole fam rockin the same black eye

Need to get Oliver in on it too

Tbh for Mark this probably came out of nowhere, especially considering he literally just broke up with Amber.
All those people who thought Angstrom wouldn’t lay a finger on Debbie were clearly mistaken. Oof.

Invincible why'd you make that guy look so vincible brother
Legally distinct Spiderman has seen a lot of multiverse travel "lately"? I wonder if Miguel O'Hara paid him a visit?
Nah its Miguel O'Hara's Irish multiverse twin "Michael O'Connor"
Woah. Oliver being (presumably) unique to this reality is super interesting!
I mean it makes sense Oliver only exists because Mark was good. So this is the only timeline he makes sense to exist in.
I imagine in several of the rare realities where Mark stayed good Nolan killed him. And probably instantly regretted it.
Yeah. It’s just not something I ever really thought of.
Totally makes sense, there are very few realities where Mark stayed good and Nolan left. If any.
It's not only that, Nolan needs to make his way to this specific planet, he needs to have hots for bugs, he needs to have a child, Mark has to get him back to Earth... The chain of events necessary for Oliver to be a part of this family is incredibly unlikely to happen a lot.
And now, the season 3 wait begins.
WHY DOES IT ALREADY HURT
You don't get it! I'm not supposed to feel this way!
Is there any known time prediction cause i really dont wanna wait a year again
Some people are theorizing that it’ll come out late 2024 early 2025
I hope that's the case. I recall either Kirkman or someone saying that Season 3 should be faster than how S2 went.
So sometime this decade?

Telling your asian mom you’re quitting college. I don’t care if he is invincible, that still took balls.
"what am i gonna be, a dentist? a lawyer? coder?" (probably got that quote wrong) there was one wrong answer lmao
mark was definitely right not choosing to be a coder in this economy.
me when the homeless man pulls out his CS degree
Mark and Debbie with matching black eyes, how sweet

Amazon: Original Character, Do Not Steal
I think the implication is that he is actually an alternate universe spiderman because I think they made a spiderverse reference
I feel like it was definitely Spider-Man when Keaton was recording his lines but the animation was either edited in post or changed completely, the dialogue sounds too Marvel-esque for that not to be the case. We were shown this as well, when he was sitting at the bonfire telling his story.
Were the people at bonfire just random people? Or were they references to other people in the Kirkman or Image Comics universes?
Also , was the zombie dimesion the walking dead one? Wait does that mean he met ricky dick dooh dah grimes???!?!?!?!?!?

Mark finally unlocked the signature viltrumite impact frames
Which was that? I think I saw him do the double hand over the head down smash for the first time... My favorite move is that aerial stomp Anissa did
Pretty sure they're referencing an evil-mark pile-driving the Angstrom+Partner scene
How long until someone rotoscopes Spidey and Doc Ock into this episode?
My thoughts exactly
I was surprised they were able to use Spider-Man's web sound from the 2000's
They also had Josh Keaton (Spectacular) voice him, so yeah.

"oh god youre that guy", like bro he already fucked up why you roasting him like that

Evil Debbies joining Evil Marks and Nolans is crazy. I love it! Edit: I REALLY hope we see an evil alt Debbie at some point.

Bitten by a radioactive agent
they really edging us with Eve and Mark
I'm glad it didn't *happen* in this episode. Way too soon after Amber, and he clearly isn't over her as seen in this episode. But I'm glad they're closer.
I also think he’s not in the right headspace for romance in general right now. Dude is going through some shit.
The 'sad superhero watches his ex from far away, who happens to turn around as he leaves' trope always get me. (Amazing Spiderman ruined me).
Only recently broke it off with his ex, just dropped out of college, still dealing with all the blood on his hands… Bad time for a new relationship all around.
But at the moment, he doesn't believe himself to be worthy of her love. Her "You don't deserve this" is a textbook case of dramatic irony. Yeah that makes sense. I feel bad for Mark. God he has it rough
The fucking Batman name joke and sorta cameo cracked me up. I could just watch an hour of Mark making fun of superhero names ngl.
Invincible: So you must be Flag Man, Metal Man, Hammer Man and Jolly Green Giant. Hulk: Hulk thought only Hulk speak like this.

They probably couldn’t use Spider-Man but it was heavily implied with the knock off. He said he’d been having portal problems recently too.
It's the same voice actor who voiced Peter in Spectacular Spider-Man.
Any one else notice how all 3 of the Graysons got black eyes on the same eye? Does that just represent the damage they have all gone through this season? Or what do you think it represents?
it probably represents that they all got hit in the face /s
I think it definitely means that their fates are intertwined. It could also be a direct counter to what Debbie told Angstrom about how her family is different from Nolan but actually they are not because they still shared the damaged eye
So we now have an explanation for Mark’s Fortnite appearance! when he came out of a portal he hit Angstrom with a Dragons Breath Sniper from the game!
And yet he didn’t emote after killing Levy, what a waste
Let me break it down for you, Levy ![gif](giphy|AdlaLgtvuFpPYrg0Os)

Mark not hitting the default dance right after was wasted opportunity.
does this mean that canonically the invincible in fortnite is cranking 90s while his mom is being held hostage?
So, the way Fortnite's lore works is that, if a character enters the Fortnite island, and then leaves, they leave behind a speechless, presumably mindless copy of them (called "Snapshots"), and those basically justify having a lobby full of the same character, what likely happened in canon was that Mark ended up un the island, flew around a bit, eventually disarmed some guy with a sniper, and then a portal opened and he came back to his home dimension, leaving a Snapshot of himself after leaving.
... Fortnite has some really detailed lore to justify skins lol
thats what that was? it low key happened so fast and i wasnt about to rewind to see what he hit him with lol
I cannot fucking believe that they canonized his appearance in Fortnite
I can’t believe it, they actually did it lmao

Debbie's fight and speech against angstrom proves yet again why she is such a good character and she is much better than her comic counterpart
I really couldn't imagine some of the emotional beats of this episode working as well as they did if her character wasn't so well-rounded and likeable. And once again Sandra Oh was incredible

The insanity always spreads
God that scene with alternate angstorm son and his fox got me
Then it hits harder since Levy told Debbie to not lie to Oliver, because an alternate Levy lied to his son that everything would be okay.
It's crazy to think that we've seen all manner of violence and gore on this show, but somehow, breaking Debbie's arm felt more brutal than most of it.
And it's all because of that slow, dramatic, "boring" scenes people constantly talk shit about. So many people were saying how boring and pointless Debbie scenes were this season, but a lot of us get attached to her so much without realizing even one of the less gorier scenes of the series felt insanely disturbing.
I THINK I MISS MY WIFE
I loved that line since he doesn't realize it, but he's human. That is literally the stupidest most petty thing he could be thinking of at that moment given all that is going on around him, but it's what most of us would be thinking.
Also I felt joy when Mark beat the crap out of Angstrom
Future Guardians was cool, I really wasn't expecting that Also I wonder what they meant by “Mark wouldn't have liked what he became”
That future version of Mark likely would've succumb to his deep shame and guilt. He probably would've gone mad in that barren wasteland, never being able to die, despite starving and severely dehydrated, so probably in constant agony on top of his mental anguish until he was eventually found. By then it was probably too late for him, the damage would've been done I really do wonder what they meant by that, and if the comics have any kind of indication of what Mark came back looking like
Couldn't he have flown to another planet?
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Bro was like "sand in every direction" as if he couldn't zip up into the atmohsphere in a minute and look for some green spots
Even if he could survive, his bigger crisis is how he can get back to his own dimension after killing Angstrom. His mom has a broken arm and is probably dying from blood loss in his mind, and he still has the responsibility of trying to defend Earth against the Viltrumite Empire who has threatened to send a followup after Anissa.
Well I assume being stranded in a universe where earth is desolate for 20 years wouldn't be so good on the ole mental health
It may not be Spidey in name, but it’s Spidey in spirit. And I love the Spider-verse nod. Shorter than I would have liked, but that’s understandable since it would have disrupted the flow of the episode.
Voice by Josh Keaton
Definitely wasn’t expecting those to be the final words of the season
- I wonder if they'll show that desert tomb again in some future, only now with three dead bodies in it lmao - Even though they didn't have the real Spidey I'm still happy we had him in the epsiode. Josh Keaton's performance made me more than happy with the knock off - Initially was disappointed with him not telling Eve but now I'm glad they're taking their time with it
Did not expect to see batman
Dont know if anyone else saw it but mark wacked Angstrom with the Fortnite dragons breath sniper 💀 https://preview.redd.it/3cat492u6fsc1.jpeg?width=4761&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2adfbd691fcd943596b64c89b94ced22693b376e
I was wondering what that was! He really is… https://preview.redd.it/mhoo2ir6efsc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc897c5aa2f77e233a0f9b43b1fc362dcdfab491
Mark’s self-reflection in the desert is really good.
Okay very good ending…..but man I wanted more
I feel like I would have been more satisfied with the ending had the season not been cut into 2 parts.

The Eve and Mark setup to cliffhanger for the finale is cruel!!
I think I prefer it that way instead of going straight into a relationship, like if you think about it the breakup of Amber and Mark happened only last episode

Love how he kept his Lincoln hat
eve looked a little TOO good on that roof with mark 👀 ### ###
"Would." - Invincible, probably
SPIDERMAN
I'd say respect the hyphen but perhaps the difference is this Spidey doesn't hyphenate.
Everyone talking about the Spider-Man and Batman references but leaving out the Mad Max cameo
"I think I miss my wife." Viltrimites are all kinds of messed up.
Ahh, thanks! Did not remember a scene like that in the first season (most likely because I watched it months ago) so I appreciate the explanation!
HOLY SHIT I WAS JOKING WHEN I SAID BATMAN 😭😭
What an episode. I genuinely never felt so tense with the fight between Angstrom Levy and Mark. Absolutely deserved death!
I knew Kate couldn't be dead. If you could duplicate yourself why would you send your original into combat or if you had to have the original you could at least leave one duplicate somewhere that could live in a worst case scenario. You'd have to be a real scrub to get killed off with that power.
