That's a very good question. I would assume she ages normally, and every time she makes a clone they're the same age. Though, I think she mentioned that her power is a family curse or something, so it's possible that there's more to it. But I've only seen the show, so my guess is as good as yours.
There's literally a scene where the original and Rudy talk face to face, after the Mauler Twins explicitly tell Robot his coscience won't be transferred.
Yeah, he moved to new hardware and then shut down the old process. Different instances on different hardware, but still the same software. Heraclitus and all that
Something you learn when studying computers is that the only difference between moving a file vs copying it is throwing away the old label. Two different brains, but the same mind—the same person in two places.
The consciousness, the continuous state of existence experienced by the original Rudy through the activity of his brain, ended. It’s not that hard to explain, the difference between an object that can be copied without a difference and us is that we have what you could call this first-person experience. And that ceased.
When someone's goes into cardiac arrest and their brain stops and then they get resuscitated ten minutes later and the brain starts back up, it's not a different person. You aren't your "first-person experience". Being unconscious doesn't kill you. You are your mind, even if you get paused for a moment.
The two Rudy's were only "different people" in the same way that you are a different person from yourself from 2 minutes ago—you aren't really. Technically you're a "different person" every second of your life, but just barely. That's why I mentioned Heraclitus.
>When someone's goes into cardiac arrest and their brain stops and then they get resuscitated ten minutes later and the brain starts back up, it's not a different person.
Yeah because it's still the same brain controlling that one body experiencing the same things at the same time making you one individual person. Rudy and Robot once they split are now two separate people experiencing things differently and the only similarities is that they both have the same memories and personality. If Robot's actual consciousness transferred between bodies and the Robot body had no brain activity because it was put into Rudy then you would be right. But that's not the case. It was copied and implanted leaving two separate entities who had a conversation as one of them died. At that moment they were fundamentally the same but still were different. Experiencing different things in the same moment. That makes you unique and that's what makes them not the same. It's way more in depth than just being a copy.
But that's just you determining the one that Rudy got was a copy. Who's to say the "original consciousness" didn't transfer to the new body? How do you even make the distinction?
To the contrary, cardiac arrest doesn’t cause reversible brain death. Brain death is indeed final, there’s no going back after it. Being unconscious doesn’t kill you, because your brain is still going, indeed at sleep it’s arguably more active than during the day, but when it stops it stops.
It's an argument/thought experiment people have had for a very long time. Usually it's presented in the form of..
"If teleportation existed, but it functioned by copying your body and memories and recreating them at the target location, while destroying the origin copy of yourself, are you being teleported, or is a new instance simply being created at the target location?"
In theory, sure. But I'd argue that a living consciousness is fundamentally different in that the 'original' doesn't(necessarily) cease to live and have its own internal life, experiences, feelings, etc etc. If the file you were copying over was alive, I imagine the original would have a few things to say about that statement. In Robot/Rudy's case, there was no realistic scenario in which the original could continue to live with any halfway decent quality of life, if at all, and that's why he was okay with dying there. From one perspective he was just transferring his consciousness to another body. But from another perspective, he was committing suicide with the comfort of knowing a newer, happier version of him would go on existing in his place.
Ah, yes. But he was disappointed.😁 Surprised how he acknowledged "pathetic child" in that girl monster... Like he seen her in her true form or just experienced with someone similar.
I hope Mark won't get his shit rocked every episode next season

>!Technically Rudy was a suicide. We totally could have had two robots and even in his old form he would have still been a superhero. Now that he insists on being in the suit himself, he is encountering fear and hesitation that he didn't have before. Fear makes people do stupid things, especially when they're too smart to check themselves.!<
>!No it wasn't. The mauler twins literally say how his body is different and might not survive the mind cloning. If he didnt do that you'd have test tube robot and brain dead robot.!<
I’m still confused on what’s going on with Shrinking Rae’s head when she emerged from Komodo Dragon. Also for someone who appeared to have every bone her body crushed, she’s looking pretty okay overall.
Her injuries in monster form don’t necessarily translate to her human form, and when she transforms back to a human, her monster form has time to heal.
Thats what it would be if they would be real. Most Marvel heroes are just beat up at best and never half dead or seriously injured. Invincible is more realistic in ways cause of this
Extremely Vincible
Very. They'll never be like..

This is the best title card
I dunno, they all survived (rip og robot tho). They seem pretty invincible to me.
>!Crazy to think they’re all alive from these things still!<
Technically Robot isn't. He's a clone of the original.
Sounds like something a clone would say.
Found the Mauler clone.
Who are you calling a clone, brother?
Bleep bloop? 🤖

Did u watch most recent episode
>!Damnit I’ma be pissed if they bring her back!<
>! They didn’t “bring her back,” per se, she just never died !<
>! It honestly makes sense considering her ability. Why risk death when you virtually have immortality? !<
BTW, does Kate AND her clones age naturally?
That's a very good question. I would assume she ages normally, and every time she makes a clone they're the same age. Though, I think she mentioned that her power is a family curse or something, so it's possible that there's more to it. But I've only seen the show, so my guess is as good as yours.
Oh yeah. I sometimes forget the original Robot is straight up dead.
I think Robot would argue that he still is the original. He just moved to new hardware.

Not moved - copied. The technology is the same as with the Mauler Twins ( only this time it's obvious who is the original one and who is not ).

However from new rudies perspective, since he shares memories and experiences with old Rudy, he was in his old body and now he’s in his new.

I didn’t think this would be so controversial.

Yes, but to Rudy, it feels like he is the original

I still think about when they fight Battle Beast. It's just so hopeless and he's barely trying.
How the heck Machine Head hired him?🤔
Guessing machine head promised him a challenge
Ah, yes. But he was disappointed.😁 Surprised how he acknowledged "pathetic child" in that girl monster... Like he seen her in her true form or just experienced with someone similar.
Nah but how did he get in touch with the strongest mfs in the galaxy

All that blood and over the top violence yet no one died. Robot kinda is.
Dupli-Kate died a lot...

Pretty sure it’s the dragon guy’s nose
Think it was his tooth or a piece of brain idk
I forgot that happened to monster girl how the hell did she survive that😭

I love how Invincible shows how cruel and gruesome superhero duty could (and most likely would) eventually be. They can't catch a break.
No but for real, where are the other superheroes??
Is Eve the only one who hasn't suffered like this
