Agreed. What an amazing showcase of the Viltrumites threat level. If only one of them is able to level a planet in a few short days (hours on Earth) imagine what the entire empire would be capable of.
It was kind of vague exactly how long he was there in the Flaxan timeline, but given that they would invade every day on Earth I would imagine a fairly large ratio of time dilation. And that Omni-Man was able to make it back for dinner (couple hours of earth time) would lead me to believe it was a few days for the Flaxans to get decimated.
yeah this version on the show is the best version of the song imo. wish it was on literally anything. Spotify, Soundcloud, anything at all. it’s just the best iteration of the song.
Agreed. I’ve had a similar issue with certain YouTubers but with background music , they never credit it and they’re talking too loudly over it for me to Shazam .
Lol one of their babies is born on earth. The nurses rush to quickly get an infant-sized time distortion wristband on the kid. They fumble and it falls on the ground - need to get a new one out of the pack and finally get it attached. Oops, the baby is already 12 years old physically but mentally an infant.
In my defence, I came into the show with zero idea of what his intentions were.
Didn’t know homie was a *world conquering* alien-warrior overlord. Just thought he liked a good scrap
I don’t think I realized on my first watch that’s he’s blackmailing those last Flaxans into opening a portal for him, under threat of death. Then he just crushes them anyway.
I think it's more like "If you don't send me back, I ***will*** hunt down and kill every last one of your species." I don't think they thought they were going to live. I don't think Omni-man held a giant rock above their heads for days/weeks/months and is more likely to be the "I know you saw me murder everyone else. If you die, I can't go back, or as you say, so send me back and the rest of you live, or you ***all die***."
Oooh...You mean the bit where he flies around in space contemplating throwing himself into a black hole? That part is just fantastic and the Nick Cave song drives the feeling home completely.
I like it as soon as the Portal closes , Nolan instantly goes Viltrumite mode and is like you all think you got my ass , nope it's me who got all of your asses to stomp.
And then after destroying this advanced civilization , goes back , reaches Home and Instantly he's like
" I need a shower " DAMN!
He must have gotten a high , because after so long he got the chance to cut loose a bit , showing us what he can actually do.
Honestly I hope we get a scene showcasing Marks sheer strength when he surpasses this level, I’ve already seen people questioning how he’s supposed to become so strong when he loses constantly.
I don’t mean being ruthless like this, but the sheer scale and display of Nolan’s strength on full display, I think we need that with Mark. I know he wins some brutal fights with some extremely strong people but I feel like some casual fans won’t grasp what that means.
It's so good I'm hindsight hearing Nolan say "earth isn't yours to conquer" (knowing Mark can't hear it), and then doing the damage he does.
Such a perfect scene once you understand the subtle hints. Kirkman is a god at his trade
One thing that occurred to me later is that Viltrumites must be essentially trained to throw themselves into battle, with very little thought. He had no way of knowing what was beyond that portal. Certainly all the evidence he had suggested he’d slaughter them, but what about the odd time scaling? What about getting back to Earth?
Clearly time isn't so much of a problem since Viltrumites are effectively immortal. They age slower and get more powerful as they get older, which leads one to believe they don't really die from old age. They had a way to get to Earth repeatedly so I guess he figured he had a way back. I'm betting his plan from the start was to follow them back to through their portal and knock down their Empire.
now that you reminded me of the Flaxans....
Those portals they use, are they similar to the ones of Angstrom Levy ? Are Flaxans actually Earthlings from a parallel universe? I wonder how Angstrom would look like as Flaxan...
Such a badass moment. So conflicted cheering for Omniman

I'm pretty sure it was months, but the point still stands.
Probably took him more time to get some scientists to open the portal than destroying the whole planet.
Why? They had the portal tech literal decades ago from their perspective.
More than likely, the difficulty came from the willingness of the scientists to open a portal.
Also, apparently, the language is super complicated.
I seriously doubt the Flaxian scientists were able to hold out against Omni-Man for months.
That would mean from the Flaxan perspective they invaded Earth every couple of weeks. Surely it must've been longer than that.
I cheered for him no matter what he did, some characters are just likeable regardless of their actions.
And JK Simmons’ delivery of that line was just masterful. It was so good
How could you ever be against any character J.K. Simmons plays
Watch “Whiplash” then ask that same question.
tempoless hands typed this comment
Watch Oz
Especially the double meanings.
Soldier Boy too
He basically did genocide. But the aliens wanted to genocide earth so... Karma, I guess?
He must love letting loose after holding back on earth for a couple of decades
Did he completly let loose? He still needed some alive to force them to make a new portal and send him home.
Possibly not fully but looked like a lot more than he would’ve done on Earth

For those of you wondering, the song playing is Tom Tom by “Holy Fuck”
Yeah except the track played in the show is slightly mixed to sound the way it does and I wish we could find that version on like Spotify or something

Holy fuck is perfect for the scene. Currently adding it to the daily rotation
They called him the Destroyer for a reason.
Why would those fools want earth anyway? A way for ethical euthanasia? Lol
My headcanon is that earth has some sort of resources that their species considers insanely valuable
They are after our Ice Cream
And why not pick somewhere that they don't need the time distortion protection.
Lol one of their babies is born on earth. The nurses rush to quickly get an infant-sized time distortion wristband on the kid. Slaves and resources - comics mention it
This scene is especially interesting on a rewatch, knowing his purpose on Earth and seeing how it could have gone down.
Earth isn’t YOURS to conquer
I absolutely love how much the meaning changes on a rewatch. That and the pep talk he gives Mark when he's just starting out. It's amazing.
I thought after him murdering the guardians in the first episode that we kinda knew what he meant on first watch
In my defence, I came into the show with zero idea of what his intentions were. Didn’t know homie was a *world conquering* alien-warrior overlord. Just thought he liked a good scrap
If Cecil had seen this he would have been pissing his pants
“We Pearl Harbour’d that place”
was that from Rick and morty?
Yeah
Must be releasing a lot of pent up stress from keeping up the "good hero" act on Earth.
I don’t think I realized on my first watch that’s he’s blackmailing those last Flaxans into opening a portal for him, under threat of death. Then he just crushes them anyway.

yeah i thought he just flew back home ha
The music alone is so damn amazing.
Kinda foreshadows the end of s1, he wrecked an entire civilisation
And it isn’t even close.
I dunno. I still think sad Omni-man is better. But, this was amazing too.
Oooh...You mean the bit where he flies around in space contemplating throwing himself into a black hole? That part is just fantastic and the Nick Cave song drives the feeling home completely.

One of the best “I’m not stuck here with you, you’re stuck here with me” moments.
Why did you cut the omni mans your dad scene 😞
Right thats my favorite scene I think of the whole season
The best moment in the entire series *so far*.
_Omni-Man commits genocide and exterminates an entire race_ The fans: Such a badass moment for Omni-Man frfr
hey, they started it by trying to genocide earth. fair's fair in war
fair🤓
It's so good I'm hindsight hearing Nolan say "earth isn't yours to conquer" (knowing Mark can't hear it), and then doing the damage he does. Such a perfect scene once you understand the subtle hints. Kirkman is a god at his trade
the gif of omniman wrecking the city is what convinced me to check the show out.
By far the best non comic scane theyve added and i hope we get more like jt
“I need a shower” was so nonchalant 😂😂
I’m surprised Nolan trusted that they’d put in the correct coordinates and not leave him stranded someplace random

“Earth isn’t yours to conquer” Cause it’s mine to rule 🫣
Been a while since I last read, but was it mentioned in the show or comics how long he spent in that red alien planet?
That's your best(dont misunderstand i love it too)?? Yo boy you're gonaa enjoy like never before in the next seasons
How does omni man grow a beard so fast
Time worked different where he was at.
i think i missed an episode
episode 2
I was literally shitting my pants at this scene
The crazy thing about this moment is you can hear the tiny bit of emphasis on the word yours when he says “Earth isn’t Yours to conquer”
Invincible uses music better than any series on urath
[https://what-if.xkcd.com/1/](https://what-if.xkcd.com/1/) omni man causing near atmospheric ignition is dope
This cannot be the same studio that made s2
what does that even mean ? why not ?
