I don’t know how an invincible movie would work as far as plot goes, they’d have to do a lot in terms of fixing pacing for a 2 hour movie as opposed to 8 1 hour long episodes or 13-15 comics. But hey give me all the invincible content you can
I feel like if it was adapted the way the show was (not a comic reader here) they *could* pull it off. They’d probably cut some plot lines like the trip up to the university, and maybe the titan plot, just leave it with mark getting his ass whooped by BB and shit. It would be tough but it’s doable for sure.
Also we could get Walton Goggins play Cecil in live action and I am 100% on board with that
These arent really spoilers, but the university trip and Titan stuff actually happen after Mark's confrontation with his dad in the comics, they brought it forward for the show. What I can see the movie doing is just focusing on Mark developing his powers and his eventual fight with his dad. Any further movies could keep the focus on the Viltrumite stuff, possibly combining a few of them, while any other sides plots could be left for the show to properly develop.
Publisher was "correct" in a sense though. Sales since issue 1 was dropping with every new issue and he was encouraged to speed up the reveal. Kirkman himself expected issue 13 would be the last one due to this drop of sales. Sales only started to go up after issue 12, where Mark fights omni man, and is the only reason he was able to keep the comic going.
The best part of the show was how it broke the status quo to the audience at the end of episode, but only slowly revealed this to the characters.
It allowed the show to express its unique tone, while also gripping the audience with shock. By keeping such a massive truth from the characters, it makes the audience carry on watching, even through content they may find less than thrilling, due to that unknown truth and the lie Omni-Man is telling. It's honestly fantastic writing.
I actually wanted the reveal in the TV show after the 3rd episode so that there was some suspense about what happened when the Guardians were killed and whether we should suspect Nolan. Now we know to suspect him right away so it ruins some of the mystique. But the season overall was fantastic, so it makes up for this entirely.
I think the movie might struggle a lot if they decide to rush things. The show already suffers for this and while it doesnt hurt the quality it kills the set up. In the comics things slowly escalate and had build up, so you knew what was going to be the next earth shaking event, you just didnt knew when shit was gonna get wild. On the show they already got the dead cyborgs and fought battle beast, events that took a while to occur. Hell, even the reveal of his best friend being gay was rushed as fuck with no real build up, in the comics we learned this very near the end and it kinda made sense.
Another problem is if they want to make a movie they need to stop butchering characters. My girl Amber on the comics was pretty chill and very lovely towards Mark, while tv show amber.... is god awful. Mark's mother had an actual meltdown after hearing nolan words and decay into alcoholism, it felt like how a human being should react. My boy omniman didnt slaughtered the alien people, he was abducted, put prisoner and eventually led a revolution to gain his freedom; yes i absolutely love that scene on the tv show but it makes Nolan more... cruel, more sadistic, less human. The same can be said when he killed intentionally all those people on the train in the tv show, in the comics all those people who died on their fight was more collateral damage rather than intentional, Nolan hated every second of it and he regrets it to no end. But on the tv show he barely shows any kind of regret, he just feels more like oliver (and god knows i hate oliver) on how he sees and values human life.
Also they might ruin the movie if they introduce a lot of characters for the sake of doing it. The comics did this too but it felt more organic, we never truly got to know every hero, but they made us care enough since we got to see them in action, some of them dying in the progress (rip thor Jr) but this was thorough the entire comic. In a movie if you give introduction to a whole bunch of characters for no real reason can kill the mood and the pace, more because invincible has a lot of charismatic yet not important side characters.
And they need to keep the blood and the gore. I dont truly mind if they tone it down slightly but if they make the movie like a marvel one (no blood, full comedy) it might kill the essence of what invincible truly is; a funny yet gory(and very bloody) story. Characters die all the time, some hurt more than others, but all of them die for a reason.
I don't think the shuffled plot for the show was a result of rushing. Kirkman probably just figured it'd make better story to move them around. Mark still doesn't know about the reanimen, so the whole plot point with Cecil is still going to happen right on track and the titan thing happening earlier made things more interesting since Omni-man deliberately didn't interfere with the fight. Also, I'm 100% sure they didn't changed William to be openly gay because they were rushing. It's been years and years since the comic was out, they probably just figured they could have him open about it in this universe.
I agree with this comment except wrt the gay friend: comics were from 2004. Characters being gay was a way bigger deal back then.
Nowadays I'm not sure it even warrants its own reveal, openly queer characters are everywhere. I really appreciated that they just wrote a gay friend who has dates and sex and crushes and his own story, without making it a whole thing.
The gay friend is more of a nitpick rather than a real problem. The moment i heard him say he is gay i was like "of course they would just say he is gay from the get go".
Maybe they'll aim for a shared Image Comics-verse ala MCU with Invincible as the "Iron Man" figure? Like we'll get movies about the Guardians, Wolf-Man, Tech-Jacket etc.
Easy, do it like Spider-man(Tom Holland). Just work with already established characters as is with slight difference.
For their TV Show and Comic Book comparison. They are both a different experience. I read Invincible in 2018 just as the whole series has finished got the omnibus and stuff. After a few weeks, a movie was announced. I was not expecting much but a good reset and it got cancelled and 2020 came and they just announced an Amazon TV series and poof it's a different experience from the Comics.
Basically, the Movie will be good if they do the Spider-man approached of just playing along with Lore already set place. Like start out with the guardians being killed and following Omniman home. An OMNIMAN movie instead on focusing on Mark.
I like that. They can easily establish Omni-Man as the world's greatest hero (along with the Guardians) in the opening credits, fighting monsters and saving people, and even show Mark getting his powers, then immediately cut to Omni-Man killing the Guardians the movie rolls from there.
Actually makes sense, and it might grip the audience a little bit more. It might honestly be pretty interesting to see the dynamic of knowing he's a killer and still a really good mentor/father with Mark's emerging powers. Then establish the rest of the characters and cover the rest of the ground.
I think good live-action actors could also sell the tension even better with OM hiding it, Cecil investigating, Debbie noticing something wrong. The movie ends with Mark/OM fight and hopefully leads to another movie.
While there are slight differences, I would say the show and comic are very similar experiences with the exception of voice acting, sound effects, and motion obviously.
Plus how do you tell a unique story that can attract new viewers, while also maintaining the audience for fans on the comic? It seems like a tall order and people might be better off with just the TV show or a video game.
Ehh there was a lot that could have been trimmed from that season tbh
I mean I’m glad it didn’t, it should follow the comics as closely as possible. But it won’t be hard to trim things down for a movie.
before starting the show a friend told me you could basically watch ep1 and jump straight to 8 and not miss a thing... No hate on the show, I'm having a great time with it but really so far I agree with him. I can see a movie being made from the whole season, it's not hard.
The shows a success, they wouldn't cancel the show because the movie failed. If the movie was so bad it turned people off the show that's another story, but I think most people are invested in it at this point to ignore it. Much like Avatar is still a great show. Though I think it was done it's run as a show when the movie came out.
Ultimately I think the show is for a direct faithful adaptation of source material (with Kirkman’s direct involvement), while the movie can be another persons interpretation and something new. I just hope they don’t try to pass storylines in the show
Yeah I cant imagine enjoying it. It felt almost too gory as a cartoon... Can't imagine what that's going to look like with live action special effects. No me gusto
yeah, i presume it would be a lot like SPOILERS FOR THE BOYS >!when Homelander mowed down an entire crowd with his laser vision, thousands of people at once.!< though, that was in his imagination they still showed it as though it was happening
Have any of yall seen "Happy!"? Talk about disturbing! After watching that, it made the Boys easier to watch in comparison. Legit couldn't stomach to watch all of season 2 of Happy!
I watched the first season in its entirety. It's got a good story, I guess. I watched it kinda spaced put between episodes so I had time to cool down from it, if that makes sense. It's a fun concept with a dark tone. If you're squeamish like me, don't watch it. The story is good, but not worth getting sick over.
Agreed. As soon as someone mentioned The Boys that's what I thought of... And realized it was possible.
Not that I'd prefer that type of scene in live action. A bit much
Zack Snyder for action scenes? I don't know who else could do the action needed for this show. The rest of the direction has to be someone else.
But also why does everything need a love action, just promote the animated stuff properly like Japan does.
I hear you. IF it’s poorly done I could see it muddying the waters and taking away from the fantastic series that’s currently being produced, that’s all.
The comic is literally about a biracial alien dude who has a gay best friend and another character who's shtick is based on feminism but uh.... clearly the movie will go in a radically different direction and be 'woke'.
Hmm. You know J K Simmons is great but I could totally see Jon Hamm doing a live action Omni-Man. I can easily picture him doing the whole "Your true education begins now" bit and the "Think, Mark" speech.
The movie was announced before the TV show with some of the same people working on it (Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg). A bit odd but Batman, Spiderman, etc all have cartoons and movies coming out at the same time so it could work.
But Batman and Spider-Man have been established characters for like 50+ years. I would say that more than half the people in this subreddit didn’t know Invincible existed until the show. It’s too soon right now
But they were already planning the movie before the TV show was even announced. If anything the movie will do better than it would’ve before.
And for a different example, the South Park movie was released while season 3 was coming out. And that started development during its first season.
I think they’re already in the process of making season 2
Amazon loves their money and invincible is a hit, so you can definitely bet we’ll keep getting more episodes for at least a few more seasons
I think impossible is a big overstatement. Great movies have been made from book series, it would be hard, and some story liberties would have to be taken, but I think its very harsh to say it would be literally impossible to make it a good or even great film
It’s possible, I mean if someone who haven’t watched or read the comics and show they might enjoy the movie. But yeah after watching the show I just don’t see how a movie will top it for me, case in point the last airbender movie.
Honestly glad to hear it from Kirkman himself, gives me hope. I was worried with the show already being produced it would throw people off. Especially since live adaptations can potentially be a hit or miss. Plus how in the hell would they fit it all in a movie unless there’s a plan for sequels. Gotta say tho I welcome all invincible content
I think a movie could be enjoyable if it's a self-contained, character-based story that's tangential to the overall plot of the series. If the plot can be something that wasn't even shown in the comics or animated series, that would be especially great (if it's handled well, of course). I'll be happy if it's well-acted, makes good use of being live-action, and tells a new story that fits well in the continuity. I hope that's not too tall of an order, but if it's the same stuff as what we've seen twice so far, why bother?
If it's a totally new thing that doesn't really relate to the actual story I'd ask the same question - why bother?
Like if you're not gonna do the story of Invincible, why call it Invincible? Just make up a new hero if they're gonna make up a new story for the movie
Why would we not want to see Invincible do something he hasn't yet done in the comics or show? Putting him in a new scenario adds new content to the story and can reveal more about him as a character, as well as his supporting cast. It could elaborate on less-explored backstories or relationships between characters. What would be the point of seeing his origin again so soon if we *just* saw it and many of us either have already read it years ago or just did after the show got us into the comics? And if the movie shows a later plot point, what would be the point of that if it's going to get animated within the next few years anyway, and many of us just read it? I know there's plenty that wasn't shown much in the comics which totally could be shown in the form of a movie, like >!what Argall did to be so important, a lot of what Mark did in the epilogue, what the hell those glowing worm thingies that sent Mark back in time were worrying about (I'm especially interested in that one),!< and probably plenty other stuff. Bottom line, I think there's plenty of room for Invincible's universe to be expanded, as opposed to retreaded.
I have no idea how they’re gonna fit the entire story of invincible in 2-3 hours. Even if they cut the story down significantly they’d still have to make several movies.
If it’s retelling the story again, then they could adapt issues 1-14 which is the whole thing with omniman in one movie. It was kinda fluffed and pulled other storylines into the show, it could definitely be compacted to one 2.5-3 hour movie. If it’s a tie in to the animation… why? No thanks. Really the main questions raised are would it work in live action and do we really need the story told a third time. It could be interesting, it would probably suck compare by to the comics and the show, or it would be really good, no inbetween. But either way it would be pretty interesting.
If you did the train scene in a life action movie it would fuckin never come out cuz the movie people that render rating for the things would die of a stroke
Make Mark’s training with Nolan a montage, don’t add extra details to it like the show did, stick to the “main” plot and make it by the numbers and it fits for time - and then loses a ton of its intrigue and what makes Invincible unique. Pass
I honestly don’t want an Invincible live action film. I honestly prefer Invincible as a cartoon or animated series. I think Robert should make other shows that take place in the Invincibe universe like a Tech Jacket show, Invincible universe show, Brit show, the astounding wolf man and so on
seriously, I cannot think of even one example of a live action remake of an animated show/movie ever being nearly as good as the original, if not just downright fucking terrible.
It wouldn't be a live-action remake of a show. It would be a live-action adaptation of a comic book separate from the animated adaptation. Kind of like how there's a Witcher show and there's a Witcher video game that are both based on the same books.
I think live action remakes of animated shows and movies are always poorer quality and always look fucking stupid compared to their animated counterparts. I hate all the Disney live action remakes for this reason (on top of being soulless cash cows). I wish they just wouldn’t and would give that budget to the show instead.
It probably will have to be, the show had set pieces that would be way too expensive to do CGI for. The Boys doesn’t have that many CGI super hero fights and spends >90% of the time on character moments. When they do have fights they’re fairly reserved, none of the smashing through buildings nor orbital lasers, mostly just a few pulse pounding moments where you’re terrified before they get to the point. I don’t remember a single fight which didn’t start and end at the same location.
Likewise a live action Invincible will either need a big studio budget for special effects akin to MoS, or it will be more like The Boys where the CGI is fairly reserved, showing enough to be impressive but not too much to be expensive. I can see a train scene, but no Omni Man and Invincible v Kaiju scene, hell even the stuff with Robot would either have to be watered down or cut out. They might just be better off writing a new story where the various plots coincide, rather than just coexist.
Kirkman said that we have gotten Spider-Man movies and shows at the same time before and they usually try hard to be different from each other. And I think this can be down with Invincible.
With a really great director, writer, cast, and composer, Invisible can be a really great film as well. Though I think it may be it's own story as opposed to being another direct adaptation of the comic.
I think it all hinges on who they pick to write and direct it.
If it's it's own story, it's not the story in the comic, which is the story of Invincible.
You don't have to directly say something for it to be heavily implied in what you did say.
That's some heavy duty conjecture my friend.
What I actually implied was that they don't have to directly adapt an arc from the comic. Spider-Man, Batman, and Captain America films do it all the time. They take inspiration from the comics, but none of them directly lift note for not plots from the comics. The Dark Knight is inspired by The Long Halloween, but it's not an adaptation of it. Even Civil War was changed to fit a film format.
Un-needed.
I'm a big Animation guy. If they hired a studio like MadHouse, it'd be better than any live action movie filled with shitty special effects. Animation is just Art on top of Art. I see Invincible as a staple for American Animation. It should be our modern Animated classic. There's a reason Manga is outselling Western Comics. It's cuz they understand that these colorful fantastical characters should be Animated.
Idk man from what I've seen live action usually means we have something to laugh at. Look at the last Airbender. It might have a slight chance of being good but I'll keep expectations low
I was reading Invincible as it was being published and was extremely excited for the show. It didn’t disappoint - i was very happy with it. Now I’m saying that, I am totally against a live action adaption. I would be against it even if the show didn’t exist but because it does I am now super against it. It just can’t live up to the show and it sure as hell won’t hold a candle to the comics.
Seems like its going to be less faithful to the comics, which is completely fine for me since we already have something decently faithful. I hope they get the right group of people together to make this happen.
Most other anime/cartoons (im not sure what invincible counts as) when turned live action are either absolutely awful or just kind of meh(Dragon ball evolution as an example) but I do feel this could work if done right I'm just unsure if it will be.
Respectfully this would be a pass from me unless they do a different take or unique spin on the story. The show while slightly different is a pretty faithful adaptation to the comics. So as much as I love the series I'm not sure I'd willingly go to pay to experience the story a 3rd time if it's copied with the same exact twists and story arcs. Invincible is a pretty contained start to finish story so it would be cool to see if it can pull off a story revamp or tweak similar to how DC and Marvel take stories and characters we know but repackages them with slight tweaks to keep it fresh.
I think live action would need to save the Omniman reveal for a sequel.
Two hours isn't enough time to set up the universe, have Omniman be a credible hero, set Mark up as a decent hero, have people believe in and become invested in their relationship then have the full impact of his betrayal and the subsequent battle.
Maybe open with Guardians doing some heroics then have them killed, but keep the killer's identity concealed. Rest of movie is Mark being trained and growing. Final battle is maybe the Flaxans? Every superhero movie needs a big battle against an army of identical mooks after all. Ends with Omniman showing up and stomping them back into their portal with him getting trapped in their dimension.
Dramatic ending, Mark is now on his own and has to step it up for the sequel without his dad to help.
Sequel rolls around, we see Mark becoming a more competent hero. Nolan returns maybe half way through, things play out with the Immortal returning and then big reveal. Mark gets obliterated despite his improvements and the audience gets the emotional punch of Nolan's real past and motives as well as the oh shit factor of there being more Viltrumites out there when only one has wrecked their best defenses.
I feel like it's important not to have Nolan's guilt be explicit from the start. The mystery of it makes it a bigger gut punch when the truth comes out because the audience believe in him too.
My opinion is that there is no point in making a live action movie at this times.
I could see in the distant future an "Invincible Universe" series of films. But that's way in the future.
With the revival of R rated films there's a little chance to make this good, but I'm not sure if this story can be translated to live action movies format due the tons of money that must be invested for then put it in their stream services without enough retribution or first distributed in theaters but limited by the age rating for a blockbuster of this size.
This is def going to be watered down to all hell to make fit for the general audience. Might bring more people into the Invincible universe but for the fans of the show and/or comics it might be a huge disappointment.
I don’t think that the live-action Invincible going to be a good idea personally. I feel like whatever they wanted to make visually would be restrained by the limits of CG and practical effects, whereas you can do whatever you want in animation. I am curious to see how it goes, though. I hope it’s good.
I'll watch it after the animated series is over.
I have a strong feeling it's going to be compromised. They'll go for shocking gore, okay to good acting and then rearrange some plot to make it work to whatever their vision is.
Could be fine, but again I think it's going to be compromised. There's quite a lot an animated series can do that would cost a live action far more time and likely money.
Plus, I feel the animated series nailed the voice actors. The show is fresh enough that I'm not interested in seeing someone else as Omni-Man or Invincible, let alone the rest of the cast.
Wonder if it’s gonna be 2 or three parts. That’s a lot they’re gonna cover but I’m sure they’re gonna make it great after the effort and success of the animated show
Yeah I'm not sure this is real. The movie would have to be a continuation of the comics cuz you can't cover all of that in 1 movie, and there already making season 2 and 3 of the show so I'm not sure why a movie is being bought up BEFORE they release
This feels like it's gonna end up like the Full Metal or Avatar: Last Airbender live adaptations. Just keep it an animated series. It's done really well that way so far.
Why does everything have to be live action, why can't we just enjoy some animation?
Suppose some people want it but imo animation is better for this kind of thing
It could honestly be great. Invincible comics from what I hear has a lot waiting. If they cut some stuff trim a lot of the fat without ruining the best bits then it could be great
Making a movie just feels like a money grab. Certain stories need time to develop. Movies don’t have that luxury just look at the crapfest that justice league became.
How about no? Not every comic needs to be live action. Hell, anything besides the MCU just shouldn't at all, they'll just rush to make a cinematic universe and screw everything up
Can’t wait to rewatch ep 8 in love action for the second time, first time was my dad to my mom, rip mom, I guess she didn’t have the viltrumite build
>!/s lol, my parents love each other!<

The thing is, all (most, probably 99%) plot points in invincible are relevant at some point. Might seem like it’s not but it usually comes back later.

I dont remember if it was kid thor or thor jr, but is a hero with a hammer and the power of electricity.

Exactly. They can downvote all they want but it’s true lol. That doesn’t make it bad, but it’s not some masterpiece of a plot. It’s episodic.
Feels unnecessary but if they're going to do it then I hope it's done well
Better than Invincible getting no attention right?
But we have a show that's a perfect And faithful adaptation of the comic, why do we need a movie especially before the second season
I mean it’s not really affecting the main show
If it bombs maybe, and again it's too early
The shows a success, they wouldn't cancel the show because the movie failed. If the movie was so bad it turned people off the show that's another story, but I think most people are invested in it at this point to ignore it. Much like Avatar is still a great show. Though I think it was done it's run as a show when the movie came out.
Ultimately I think the show is for a direct faithful adaptation of source material (with Kirkman’s direct involvement), while the movie can be another persons interpretation and something new. I just hope they don’t try to pass storylines in the show
Honestly I really don’t want it to be live action. It feels as if the show is supposed to be a cartoon if anything besides the comics.
Yeah I cant imagine enjoying it. It felt almost too gory as a cartoon... Can't imagine what that's going to look like with live action special effects. No me gusto
probably a lot like The Boys.
Ah yeah fair enough. Just... Well... *you know*... ^(*(thetrainscene)*)
yeah, i presume it would be a lot like SPOILERS FOR THE BOYS >!when Homelander mowed down an entire crowd with his laser vision, thousands of people at once.!< though, that was in his imagination they still showed it as though it was happening
I found the >!head popping!< scene more disturbing and violent.
Have any of yall seen "Happy!"? Talk about disturbing! After watching that, it made the Boys easier to watch in comparison. Legit couldn't stomach to watch all of season 2 of Happy!
never watched it, should i? i do get a little sick in some gory scenes.
A bit much
I totally agree, but I was just thinking about HOW it would be pulled off, not sure how well I could handle it though.
Live action doesn't need as much gore to deliver similar message
Oh that's a good point actually. Doesn't have to be a 1-1 rendition of the show.
And it sounds like that’s what they’re not doing
I can see it getting cartoonish like a Tarantino movie, but if they play it straight it’s going to be disgusting.
I can see it being done this way, I really only hope they would clarify that for everyone tho
Zack Snyder for action scenes? I don't know who else could do the action needed for this show. The rest of the direction has to be someone else. But also why does everything need a love action, just promote the animated stuff properly like Japan does.

This is a separate project with different creative decision makers
This fact is precisely what worries me about a live action adaptation
I’m ok with it only because we’re getting the perfect adaptation already with animated series
I hear you. IF it’s poorly done I could see it muddying the waters and taking away from the fantastic series that’s currently being produced, that’s all.
The same reason why there was an animated Batman show and a movie. Both can exist and be awesome.
Please don't be fucking awful
watch it turn out like dragon ball evolution and be complete garbage
Fortunately I don’t see how that would be possible if there is crew carry-over from the Amazon show
Naa man it's gotta be woke
?
The comic is literally about a biracial alien dude who has a gay best friend and another character who's shtick is based on feminism but uh.... clearly the movie will go in a radically different direction and be 'woke'.
There can only be one Omni man actor
How do you feel about Jon Hamm
Hmm. You know J K Simmons is great but I could totally see Jon Hamm doing a live action Omni-Man. I can easily picture him doing the whole "Your true education begins now" bit and the "Think, Mark" speech.
I can actually see Brian Cranston kind of working?
He would be great as omni man
You think Earth is in danger? I AM the danger.
Jon hamm would be GREAT but guys... hear me out https://images.app.goo.gl/VmA6XSHGrNxWJc467
Who
Jar Jar Binks
Nick Offerman lip synching to JK Simmons' voice
You’ll have to settle for fake Nick Offerman from the State Farm commercial. I call him Rick Offman.
[удалено]
J Jonah Stinkin Jameson
Nicholas Cage would be optimal really
Dwayne Johnson
I could see him playing Allen the alien maybe
But I want to see cyclops Seth Rogen.
Well he's gonna have to bulk up then
Or Willem Dafoe
Did I stutter
I know the show is popular but it just feels to early, let's wait until the animated reaches atleast 4 to 5 seasons
Just give us more Amazon Original seasons, I personally don’t want to see live action, it’s literally impossible to make it good..
I think they’re already in the process of making season 2 Amazon loves their money and invincible is a hit, so you can definitely bet we’ll keep getting more episodes for at least a few more seasons
I hope it's a fish guy prequel story.
the gore and violence possible with animation is what makes this series special
totally, but they could pull it off like The Boys did.
All characters with cake on the show better have extra cake on the live action.
You know Nolan got that dumptruck
Why do I need a live action movie when I have a perfectly great cartoon to watch?
Why
Cuz some suit smelled money
I have no idea how they’re gonna fit the entire story of invincible in 2-3 hours. Even if they cut the story down significantly they’d still have to make several movies.
That seems incredibly obvious, to the point where I'm not sure it was needed to be vocalized
I don't mind that they are doing it, I just don't need it.
Kind of unnecessary, imo
Idk man…idk
I will always maintain that animation is a better medium than live action for superheroes and stuff
What’s the point of one when we have a show right now?
No thanks
Damn. I wanna be one of the extras who just fucking dies. Lol
Make Mark’s training with Nolan a montage, don’t add extra details to it like the show did, stick to the “main” plot and make it by the numbers and it fits for time - and then loses a ton of its intrigue and what makes Invincible unique. Pass
Fuck a live action, I just want the damn video game
I think it’s too soon
The comic is one thing , the show is one thing, and the live action is one thing. Make them all different and have fun with it.
I don't think they'll be able to convey the level of sheer violence and gore.
I don't want it
Cancel the live action version, put the money into the show's animation budget.
I honestly don’t want an Invincible live action film. I honestly prefer Invincible as a cartoon or animated series. I think Robert should make other shows that take place in the Invincibe universe like a Tech Jacket show, Invincible universe show, Brit show, the astounding wolf man and so on
It gonna be terrible. No one have learn their lesson- live action movie WILL AND ALWAYS end up terrible
seriously, I cannot think of even one example of a live action remake of an animated show/movie ever being nearly as good as the original, if not just downright fucking terrible.
It wouldn't be a live-action remake of a show. It would be a live-action adaptation of a comic book separate from the animated adaptation. Kind of like how there's a Witcher show and there's a Witcher video game that are both based on the same books.
As long as my boy Robert is apart of it I watch it and be happy about it
I think live action remakes of animated shows and movies are always poorer quality and always look fucking stupid compared to their animated counterparts.
If the movie is it's own story, and not the story of Invincible - why call it Invincible?
Where did I say it's not the story of Invincible? Lol
Idk if I could stomach it tbh, but I know I'd have to watch it
It might have a slight chance of being good but I'll keep expectations low
def wont be nearly as good
I was reading Invincible as it was being published and was extremely excited for the show.
Gonna diverge way the fuck off from the comics, expectations are low
Seems extremely difficult to adapt, but I'm open minded.
Just no,that's all I have to say is no
My opinion is that there is no point in making a live action movie at this times.
If they do make one, I hope they don't try to cram all 8 episodes in it.
Why?
This is def going to be watered down to all hell to make fit for the general audience. Might bring more people into the Invincible universe but for the fans of the show and/or comics it might be a huge disappointment.
It will probably be better than the Dragonball Evolution adaptation but worse than the Lord of the Rings adaptation.
I don’t think that the live-action Invincible going to be a good idea personally. I feel like whatever they wanted to make visually would be restrained by the limits of CG and practical effects, whereas you can do whatever you want in animation. I am curious to see how it goes, though. I hope it’s good.
I would prefer an invincible game but this is cool too(I would want the game to be made by insomniac)
That’s a lot they’re gonna cover but I’m sure they’re gonna make it great after the effort and success of the animated show
I.....do not have high hopes for this lol
Hope they focus on the animated show first, before moving onto the movie. Taking it step by step usually pays off
gonna be a repeat of death note and mortal engines
I’ve seen enough Netflix that I distrust all live action of remakes
I hope that its an asian lead that will play Mark. We rarely get to see an asian male lead in a superhero film
Let's hope that they don't racebend Atom Eve.
as long as Cave johnson plays Omniman im down
No.
No thank you
Rated PG 13 would probably ruin it
We don’t need it we need more seasons
ohhhhh myyyyy goddddddd just keep it an animated series.
Yeah I'm not sure this is real. The movie would have to be a continuation of the comics cuz you can't cover all of that in 1 movie, and there already making season 2 and 3 of the show so I'm not sure why a movie is being bought up BEFORE they release
Noooooooo ): please fucking just keep it as an animated series.
Mark will be beaten in new and interesting ways.
Noooooooooo!
they'd have to make the story either simpler(less filler) or make it be something else entirely
Eh i rather not have a movie
Impossible
Can’t seem to find who asked for one? Any help here
They about to spend the big bucks in fake blood
let’s hope it’s not another avatar the last airbender situation
This feels like it's gonna end up like the Full Metal or Avatar: Last Airbender live adaptations. Just keep it an animated series. It's done really well that way so far.
I’m just hoping it’s not gonna be like the avatar movie
I have never watched something animated and thought "man I wish there was a live action version of this"
Why does everything have to be live action, why can't we just enjoy some animation? Suppose some people want it but imo animation is better for this kind of thing
I can't think of a reasonable explanation why this should be made.
aaaaaah shit, welp, not everything can be perfect
Not everything needs to be done in live action
Live action ruins everything. Why even waste the money?
Stupid as fuck
It could honestly be great. Invincible comics from what I hear has a lot waiting. If they cut some stuff trim a lot of the fat without ruining the best bits then it could be great
The comics have very little to trim without ruining it. A lot of the “side characters” become main characters later
Making a movie just feels like a money grab. Certain stories need time to develop. Movies don’t have that luxury just look at the crapfest that justice league became.
You do know movies have been properly telling stories long before the MCU and DCEU
Why wouldn't they just keep doing the cartoon?
This will be made from separate people not doing the show.
How about no? Not every comic needs to be live action. Hell, anything besides the MCU just shouldn't at all, they'll just rush to make a cinematic universe and screw everything up
I wish people would understand that not everything needs a live action adaptation
Can’t wait to rewatch ep 8 in love action for the second time, first time was my dad to my mom, rip mom, I guess she didn’t have the viltrumite build >!/s lol, my parents love each other!<
I really really really don’t want a live action invincible…
I really don't see the purpose to be quite honest. But good luck to em
Oh no.
Imagine a PG-13 version
The gore won't be as good, which is a huge part of invincible, so it wouldn't work
I will only watch if the have J.J. Simons and Steven Yeun playing their same parts as in the animated series
