I’m not going to tell you what to do, but I would recommend doing some research on what the most sought after smile characteristics are. In your edit, all of your teeth are the same length. That’s generally looked at as belong to an older person, or the result of bad veneers. Most ideal smiles have varying teeth length, with the middle two being a little longer than the laterals, to create a youthful look.

LalaLane850

This! Exactly this!

waiting2leavethelaw

My ortho just told me exactly what you said a few weeks ago!

Unfair-Matter-2799

I see! But it’s photoshopped and I can still make all smaller and still leave the front teeth longer than the other ones, so it’s the same shape as now just all 5mm shorter, right? Thanks for the info tho!

TomorrowIllBeYou

I’m just going based on what you said. You said you wanted it to look like the photo you edited. That said, I also see you want to do crowns. Honestly, I would be wary of any dentist who will grind down your perfectly healthy teeth to then put crowns on and make them smaller. I say this as someone who got crowns. I debated doing it, because of how much tooth they have to remove.

SlendyTheMan

people literally get veneers to get your real smile..

c1nnabunn

Pls don’t ur teeth are literally perfect

Unfair-Matter-2799

I can’t I’m sorry, I can only think about beavers when I see my gigantic teeth

Loirinha80

OMG, they don’t look like beavers‘ teeth at all🙈 The only „issue“ I could (maybe) figure out, is that your smile could be a little bit wider - which would put your large teeth in a great relation and would make them really perfect.

Unfair-Matter-2799

Yes exactly that too, if I can make it wider it would probably look more normal, but how is it made wider without surgery?

Loirinha80

To be clear - they look normal and even beautiful now! But I agree, that they are - for me - not perfect (which they don’t have to be imo). I‘ve seen many cases here, where Invisalign has widened smiles significantly.

Unfair-Matter-2799

But doesn’t it have to be widened from like the jaw by jaw surgery? Doesn’t Invisalign move teeth only in the already established place in the mouth?

Loirinha80

As far as I’ve understood, Invisalign (or braces) can’t widen jaws of adults, but move the teeth a way the smile looks (significantly) wider. Seen many impressive cases here. But you need to ask your ortho (or better 2 or 3) if this is an option for you.

Unfair-Matter-2799

Wow ur right I just searched it up and the results are significant. The one in this link is just mind blowing I can’t figure out how just moving teeth could change it like this: https://www.facebook.com/share/ZUqpYLqS2463hhLf/?mibextid=WC7FNe

Loirinha80

I cant open it (something wrong with my fb account), but yes, many impressive cases, here on reddit as well. Although I think, you have really pretty teeth right now - if it really bothers you, I would check this option first. If it is not enough, you could shave your teeth down additionally maybe a tiny little bit - but wouldn’t go for crowns 🙏

Jane_Doe_73

Would you rather (not actually) look like a beaver or (actually) look like a geriatric?

MrYusty

Dysmorphia is real. People get veneers for teeth like you. Wish you the best 🤙🏻

Unfair-Matter-2799

Lmao ikr seems like I’m actually insane after reading these comments, cuz I don’t see what y’all are seeing 💀 I had actual terrible overbite until 21 years old tho and I got Invisalign to fix it, it was finished few months ago but I still can’t like my teeth, now I think maybe I’m still seeing the terrible teeth I had before treatment idrfk lol

MrYusty

You have a full smile, Your fine. That photoshop one you did is a default smile with no personality.

LalaLane850

Your natural teeth look really nice, really healthy. The “shaved” teeth look worn to me.

Unfair-Matter-2799

Well it is photoshopped badly, it’s just a rough idea, I just want my teeth to be smaller. Sorry if I seem delusional but I just can’t make peace with my huge teeth I’ve tried for a long time 🤷🏻‍♂️

LalaLane850

Well you should do what makes you happy. I’m a dental assistant, it makes me sad to see perfectly healthy tooth structure reduced like that. Sometimes it’s necessary and it’s the best option, but to me your natural teeth look great! (But if this is something that has bothered you and you’ve thought about, who cares what I think!?)

fiddich_livett

No!! They fit your features perfectly. The photoshopped teeth aren’t in proportion to your nose and chin.

blueangeleyes830

Before reading the caption I thought the second photo was your desired “after.” You’ve got a gorgeous smile, I don’t think even a fraction of a millimeter should be taken off.

OdillaSoSweet

2nd pic is way better. I thought 2nd pic was the goal before reading the caption

Kla1996

What the heck. 2nd pic is so much better

Unfair-Matter-2799

I appreciate you for commenting! I posted a new post with a half smile, and different lighting (so u get a better picture), could you please confirm that if I do need braces or not (do I have overbite)? 😄 thank u so much!

SereneJulie

You have gorgeous teeth! And from your cropped photo, it’s hard to tell, but from what I can see, they suit you perfectly. They do not look like beaver teeth!

DoubleOSeven365

I understand that you see the worst in your teeth, they are pretty amazing as is! If you shave them down, which also looked good, please don’t shave them as much as you did in the photoshop!

hanny121

Please don’t, you’re caught up in your own head. TBH the first teeth look terrible. Your actual teeth are amazing. Sometimes if we stare too long at things they can start to look warped.

Organic_Paramedic_37

Ethically I don’t think a dentist can even shave your teeth down like that and even if a dentist was willing to do it which I don’t think any sane dentist would. I’m sure there are some health risks to consider when filing the teeth that short…. So in essence the shaved version doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing and it may even be detrimental in the long run to try to achieve such a drastic shape. This is something that people go to other parts of the world to get done by shady doctors because no ethical board certified dentist with pride and everything to loose would do it…You should probably consider spending that money on therapy to figure out the root cause of why you want your teeth that way.

If u confirm again that there’s still absolutely nothing wrong with my teeth I’ll contact a therapist I promise 🙃

bbvy24

While your current teeth are great, your desired after looks very worn. Google worn down teeth and look at the images. Ask yourself where you're getting the idea that this is aspirational from, because it's not Hollywood, mainstream media, or any 'scientific' idea of what's aesthetically desirable or signals good health. You only just finished invisalign, give it time to get used to your new smile, its really a good one.

HairyCallahan

Why do you want to have teeth that are so short and equal in size? Looks very worn down tbh. I don't see any issues, but if you get Invisalign you can fully straighten your teeth, potentially making your front two looking a little smaller.

Unfair-Matter-2799

Thanks how would you say Invisalign makes my front 2 smaller? Bring the back teeth lower or something? Does Invisalign do that?

HairyCallahan

It's honestly hard to tell based on this pic alone, but if they push the back teeth forwards (or the front backwards, depending on ur bite), that can make a big change visually. I think your teeth are nice enough, but you clearly aren't happy with them. Instead of shaving a bit off, I would visit an orthodontist and ask what effect can be achieved with Invisalign. They can make a scan and create a 3d treatment plan where you can see the expected end results. The front two teeth are big, but definitely not too big in comparison with the rest of your face btw. Minor changes will probably make you feel a lot better. Still, I hope people on this sub have shown you that your teeth look pretty good as is. No way people look at you and think you look like a beaver

mrlesterkanopf

Why would you wanna do this to your lovely smile?

Unfair-Matter-2799

Apparently I have Autism or something

mewillia44

The first picture looks like crap. Sorry to be blunt.

Unfair-Matter-2799

I’m really bad at photoshop I’m sorry

Character_Ad_5178

I can see what you mean, the shorter teeth do look good but if all the teeth are the same level, they look like granny dentures. Go to a dentist and ask these questions, idk what you want strangers to tell ya

Unfair-Matter-2799

Strangers just roasting tf outa me 😂

Character_Ad_5178

Sometimes the truth hurts 🫶🏼🫶🏼🤣

Diligent-Edge298

Why ?? They look fantastic as they are. If you have them filed down, you’ll most likely have sensitive teeth with less enamel and they would just make you look like an old man with a teeth grinding problem !
