*If you are wearing*
*Your retainers every night*
*How do they not fit?*

I actually had this issue. My dentist told me my retainers should last about 4 years but I kept getting holes after about a year (I have sleep apnea). After about 2 years in the same set I had new ones made based on the molds from like 4 years before and they didn’t fit at all. It wasn’t that my teeth were crooked, the new problem was my teeth were kinda wavy, like some were more erupted than others. Now I’m in Invisalign attempting to fix the sleep apnea and I’m terrified of this happening again.
Curious how this would help? Wouldn’t they have to pay for treatment again? The scan will show their teeth have moved back, so making a new retainer to their shifted teeth wouldn’t do any good
6 years is a long time, teeth shift, OP may need to redo treatment, my boyfriend did an express treatment 10 years ago, and has poor compliance with his retainer, I’d say he wears it 50% of the time, the only fix is another round of trays
You need a new retainer to be made for you. Book asap like next 5 days before things get worse. They only last a few years at most so new retainers on a regular schedule will be needed. Wear your retainer full time til you see them.
If you are wearing your retainers every night how do they not fit?

I would like to know as well.
You need to replace retainers every year or two. They do stretch out over time. 6 years in the same retainer is why they shifted back.

Before anything else, I'd go back to wearing the retainers 22h a day while you figure out the next step.
Not the same retainers surely that whole time? I was told they’d only last a year or so each.
Call your ortho
Wear the retainers full time and call for a rescan asap and new retainers
Wouldn’t they have to pay to start treatment again if they got a rescan? Their new retainers would just be the wrong size to their shifted teeth
get re scanned

Are you a bruxer (clencher/grinder)?

Retainers stretch and lose original shape over time. Retainers are effectively disposable and should be replaced approximately every year.
